Hey everyone! I hope you guys are liking the story, only a few more chapters after this and i gotta be honest i'm really sad to see this one end. I'm currently working on two different Gaara stories, a jack frost and two Cloud Strife stores (though one of the cloud one i'll probably never finish).

As you walked back to Zuko, Jet walked towards the freedom fighters he said "Don't take too long saying goodbye, we gotta save the world today"

You childishly stuck your tongue out at him in response; Jet only snickered as he joined the freedom fighters.

Zuko pulled you close in a tight embrace, "I love you Kana"

"I love you too Zuko"

The two of you pulled away just enough so you could share a passionate kiss and before you knew it Zuko was climbing back onto Appa. You watched as they flew off into the distance. You watched until the majestic sky bison was out of sight.

"Come on Kana, I don't know about you but I'm ready to knock some fire nation heads" Jet said with a laugh.

"I'm coming" you replied as you turned towards him.

"Good because we make a great team"

"I told you stop saying that" You replied.

"It's true, besides it annoys you" jet replied as he fell into step beside you, the freedom fighters flanked your sides as your group heading in the direction of the fire nation army.

"Just try an keep up" you said with a sly smile as you ran ahead of them. Determined to finish this as quickly as possible so you and Jet can go back Zuko up.

(Zuko)

"Don't worry Zuko, Kana is going to be fine" Katara told you sincerely. You couldn't help but wonder what Kana and Katara talked about but it seems like they're suddenly on good terms.

"I can't help it" you replied in annoyance. "Besides its not just Kana, I'm worried about Aang. What if he doesn't have the guts to take out my father? What if he loses?"

"Aang won't lose. He's gonna come back. He has to" Katara replied.

"I hope you're right"

The palace plaza soon came into view; you could see a crowd gathered. You took a deep breath as you saw the fire sages preparing to crown Azula fire lord. This ends today.

"What are you waiting for!" Azula yelled as Appa landed.

"Sorry, but you're not going to become Fire Lord today. I am" you said as you jumped off of Appa.

(Daisuke)

Metal bending made it easy for you to take out the fire navy ships. As you literally tore a hole in the side of the hull, you used metal bending to create a bridge to the next ship.

Kaito was nearby, if you didn't know better you might have mistook him for a sea monster- the bear-like water bender was covered in seaweed, walking on water capsizing ships. He stopped near you as he sunk another ship, the fire nation navy appeared to be surprisingly good swimmers.

"That's seventeen for me," Kaito stated, challenging you.

"Hmm only seventeen, I that's a good start, I'm already at twenty-six" you replied with a sly grin.

"Oh its on little brother" Kaito yelled,

"Let's make it quick"

"What kind of older brothers would we be if we didn't back up our baby sister, and future baby brother" kaito agreed knowing what you're thinking.

(Kana)

You ran ahead of the freedom fighters, you wanted to scout out the camps; you'd have to take them down one by one without alerting the other platoons. It looks like theirs six platoons with twenty soldiers plus a cook and two medics in each. It was surprisingly easy to stay hidden from the soldiers; you would think that after a hundred years of war they would be more alert.

You looked behind you, still no freedom fighters in sight. You were too anxious so you decided to make the first move. You crept out of your hiding spot and towards the closest soldier; thankfully he was standing by himself. You snuck up behind him, kicked him in the back of the knees and as he began to cry out you covered his mouth successfully muffling his scream. Then you hit a few pressure points and knocked him out. You did this to six soldiers more completely unnoticed, but on your eighth target, he fought back, he was able to call three nearby soldiers before you were able to knock him out.

'No sense in hiding my presence now' you thought as you started using your firebending. Out of all of your techniques you found that the dancing dragon form coupled with your sword skills were the most effective.

As you knocked out another soldier you were suddenly restrained from behind, as another much larger soldier approached you.

"The Phoenix King will reward us for bringing her in" The one behind you laughed.

You glared at the one approaching you as you struggled to free yourself.

"Those rumors from the boiling rock are true, she's a real pain," the solider behind you added.

This situation reminded you of Ba Sing Se when you, Iroh and Zuko thought you were serving tea to the Earth King when in actuality Azula had taken control. You stopped struggling and smiled, taking in a deep breath.

The solider approaching you looked really unsettled by your sudden change in demeanor because he stopped in his tracks and looked at you with what was either fear or uncertainty.

You opened your mouth and breathed fire, in the confusion the soldier behind you let go, and you proceeded to take out the remaining members of the platoon.

As you caught your breath and wiped your face you heard footsteps approaching. You looked up ready for a fight but just saw the amazed faces of the freedom fighters.

"You really couldn't wait could you?" Smellerbee teased.

You couldn't help but smile, " I was anxious" you shrugged your shoulders.

As Jet approached he tossed you a canteen. " You and your brothers should have left your island sooner, I have no doubts the three of you could have taken down the fire nation by yourselves." He laughed.

"Come on we have five more to take out" You said, "Unless you're too slow" you grinned

"Not a chance" Jet replied walking in the direction of the next platoon. "Smellerbee, The Duke tie up these guys we don't want any trouble when they wake up. Longshot with me and Kana, keep your distance, shoot arrows for cover"

"You got it!" Smellerbee replied, as Longshot nodded and The Duke cheered.

(Zuko)

Azula has challenged you to an Agni Kai, and surprisingly it seemed like you were winning. You dodged another one of her attacks as you thought that something about her seemed off. Azula's precision is always deadly but today it was sloppy. She seemed crazy. I mean Azula is always crazy but she's always been terrifyingly good at hiding how crazy she is, but right now its clear for everyone to see.

As Azula jumped towards you as you fell into a low crouch and kicked several circular blasts of fire at her. Unable to dodge Azula fell to the ground hunched over in pain. She barred her teeth at you, almost as if she was a snarling kimono rhino.

"No lighting today? What's the matter?" you taunted. "Afraid I'll redirect it?" you knew you shouldn't taunt her like this but this was the first time you've been able to and you didn't want to give up your first chance.

"Oh, I'll show you lightning!" She yelled.

(Daisuke)

As you crawled out of the surf, Kaito was already lying on the beach still covered in seaweed.

"Give me five minutes, I just need five minutes then we can go find Kana and the freedom fighters" The bear like waterbender mumbled.

"Make it three," You said as you pulled off your shirt to ring in out. "I trust Kana will be fine, but I'm worried about Smellerbee, Longshot and the duke."

"You have a point," Kaito mumbled. "How do you think everyone else is doing?"

You looked around, On the main land you could see what you could only assume was the battle between Zuko, Katara and Azula. To left of that you could see some smoke rising from a few locations that seemed to be headed in the direction of the palace. In the opposite direction you could see an airship smoking heading down towards the ocean below. Even further out you could just barely make out what looked like fire in the air.

"I looks like Aang has returned" You smiled as you pointed. Kaito leaned on his elbows.

"That kid is gonna save the world" Kaito mused.

"Just think the world will finally be peaceful soon," You added.

Kaito nodded in agreement, then he looked at you. "Forty-three"

"Fifty-seven" you laughed, "Looks like I beat you big brother."

"I can't believe we took out the entire fire navy"

You nodded in agreement, "We should probably get going before they start swimming back to shore"

(Jet)

As you and Kana knocked out the last few soldier, the rest of the freedom fighters were busy tying everyone up.

"Kana we should take five, then head up to help Zuko and Katara," You said as you caught your breath.

Kana wasn't paying attention to you; she was absently wrapping a minor cut on Smellerbee. You looked in the direction of the palace fire was shooting in every direction. You could tell Kana was torn between caring for the young freedom fighters and wanting to rush to Zuko's side.

You sighed and against your better judgement, "Go to Zuko, I can handle things here"

You took over wrapping Smellerbee's wound.

"Thanks Jet" Kana said with a smile before running off.

"We won't be far behind you" You called after her, "And be careful!" you sighed knowing you shouldn't have let Kana go off on her own, its not that you don't trust her but you are in the middle of overthrowing the fire nation and ending a hundred year war, no one should be by themselves. "Zuko's gonna kill me" you mumbled.

"Ow Jet!" Smellerbee squealed, "Too tight!" She said as she pulled away and turned to Longshot, who undid everything you did and began to fix it.

"You're not very good at this are you Jet" The Duke laughed.

After Smellerbee was all patched up, the four of you headed towards the palace.

(Zuko)

Azula's movements were erratic as she bounced some lightning around her fingertips. You took a deep breath and posed ready to receive the lightning and redirect it. Suddenly Azula smirked, and extend her arm. Then it hit you, she wasn't preparing to strike you.

"No!" You yelled as you as tried to get in front of Katara, you extended your fingers attempting to absorb the lightning. It was all wrong, you could feel a terrible pain traveling up your arm. You absorbed the lightning but you were in no way directing it. The pain spread to you shoulder and to the center of your chest when suddenly it stopped. You heard an ear-piercing scream as the force of the lightning threw you backwards, landing with a heavy thump.

"Zuko! Kana!" you could hear Katara yell. Your ears were ringing and everything was dark, if you didn't know better you could have sworn Katara yelled Kana.

You tried to get up, your vision blurry and arms weak you could barely move. On sheer will power alone you held yourself up for a few seconds before falling back.

"I'd really rather our family physician look after little Zuzu if you don't mind!" Azula laughed. "hmm it looks like I've finally gotten rid of that little whore of a peasant"

Your eyes widened, as you feared the worst, forcing yourself up you looked ahead and saw Katara and Azula staring at each other both waiting to see who will make the first move. You were confused if Azula wasn't talking about Katara then who…

You frantically looked around, your vision blurred from the sudden movement. To your left you could see a familiar red-haired form lying on their side.

"Kana" You groaned in pain as you forced yourself up. She didn't react. You took two steps before stumbling to the ground.

(Jet)

You heard an ear-piercing scream coming from the palace, it sounded like Kana. You ran faster than you've ever run before. You could hear Smellerbee yelling after you but you couldn't stop, not now. You knew something had to be wrong.

You climbed the palace wall, too frantic to think clearly and find an entrance. For a moment you stood frozen at the top looking down at the scene in front of you.

"Zuko hold still, let me help you" Katara yelled as she tried to hold a water covered hand to his chest where his flesh was burned and scarred.

"Get off me, help her" Zuko spat as he pushed Katara away, he then doubled over in pain.

You finally saw what Zuko was talking about.

Kana was lying on her side not moving, you jumped off the wall and rushed to her side, as gently as you could you laid her on her back and checked her pulse. It was so faint. It was strange her clothes were all wet. Then you noticed the purple scars running from her finger tips, along the inside of her arms, to her shoulders, across her chest and down her other arm to her finger tips; the scars ran in an intricate pattern like it traced her veins.

"Katara" You said weakly, she must not have noticed you while she struggled with the bad tempered prince because she gasped in surprise. "She needs your help"

Katara had finally gotten Zuko to allow her to heal him, which actually meant that Zuko was just to weak to fight back.

"Help Kana please" Zuko pleaded.

Katara backed away from Zuko as you cradled Kana in your arms counting the beats of her heart. You didn't want to think about it but her heartbeat was growing weaker every second.

"I…I can't" Katara cried. "I already tried, nothing I did worked"

You heard a grunt of pain as Zuko struggled to get to Kana. You carefully placed Kana in his arms staying close in case Zuko's depleted his remaining strength.

"Baby sister " A normally loud booming voice nearly chocked.

Seconds later Kaito pushed you aside. As Daisuke grabbed your shoulder, "What happened?" he asked, his voice was eerily even, but his eyes betrayed his true feelings.

You glanced at Kana. Kaito was working on her, trying desperately to heal whatever damage Azula did to her. Zuko was trying his best to hold himself together; his head was bowed over Kana as tears ran down his face. He ran his fingers through her hair. You frowned Zuko and Kana are your two best friends and you know Zuko would never be able to get over it if Kana dies. You shook your head not wanting to think about it, you'd never be able to get over it either.

"Is…is she going to be ok?" You choked out.

"I trust Kaito" Daisuke responded, "Now what happened?"

"I don't know, I just got here" you looked at Katara she was a few feet away with her hands over her mouth like she always does when she's worried.

"Katara, please tell me what happened" Daisuke caught where you were looking.

"I...I don't know, it all happened so fast" She nearly cried, she paused taking a deep breath. "Azula was about to shoot lightning at Zuko but right before she attacked she changed her target to me." She wiped her eyes and continued. "Zuko saved me, but something was wrong when he was redirecting the lightning, and..and" She stuttered as she started to cry, "I don't even know where Kana came from" Katara tried to calm herself before continuing. "She bent the lighting from Zuko, she saved him."

Daisuke clenched his fists but kept his demeanor calm "Thank you" he mumbled quietly. As the two of you walked towards kana.

As you got closer you could hear Zuko.

"Kana please stay with me, I love you, please don't leave" He kept mumbling over and over.
