Well this ain't my will, sure as shit. That's all sorted out, we all know that - huh? Division of assets, body to the science fleet, military effects go back to the Army. Yeah, yeah I know.

No, this is - uh, this is me. This is my message, my going away message, just in case things really go to shit and I'm not around to see the end. So its more of a personal message, right? Recorded by a friend - yes Veetof course you're my friend - for my friends.

Except its not just that - but I'll get there in a minute.

Guys - guys? Shit that's...

Whatever. You all know the line I always fall back on: I'm just a marine. But let's be honest, I'm more than, always have been. I'm - I'm you lot. Right? You, Veet. Tali'Zorah, ma'am. You knuckleheads in the fifth. Mom, Dad, the whole Reegar brood.

You guys have always been what I am. Does that actually make sense? Who cares.

I've always been fighting for you guys. Every step of the way - whether I knew you going into the Marines or not, I was doing it for you.

And that's why I'm doing it now. 'Cos there's this chance, the way I see it. We can do this. We can stop Reapers.

If we fight, fight for what they haven't got - what they can't have - what THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND!

Okay, sorry Veet, got a little carried away there.

But, if we fight, for our families, our friends... If we keep fighting for that, then we have a this fire - a fire that the Reapers can't hope to put out.

I met Commander Shepard a couple times. One hell of a soldier - hell, even got me to back down once, and y'all know how hard that is.

But anyway, I met Shepard. And you know what I saw? I saw that Shepard was fighting for that stuff, right? That's how I came out with it, I'm not clever enough to phrase it all on my own - just a marine - I had to see it, see it in Shepard's eyes.

And if we all fight like that, for that.

If you guys do that, even after I'm gone...

Then I think we might just have a chance.

'Cos we're dead already. But there's a tide of light that'll bring us home

A/N:
Consider this a special treat. I know that people have been eager to hear from a) the dead, b) good ol' Kal'Reegar.

Kal has always been one of my favourite characters, so I really, really hope that I've done him justice here. I am - to be honest - a little nervous about this chapter, as I believe that it is the furthest from the original "farewell"/epitaph theme. It's intended as a recording found after Kal's death, just in case I didn't communicate that properly.

Anyway, this entry should bring the "Quarian series" to a close (let me know if I'm forgetting anyone) I hope it is received well by the Reegar fans.
