Heya! So this is chapter 2, I know it's a bit early and don't always expect it to update so soon, but this time I felt like writing the second chapter sooner. Either way, enjoy chapter 2!

Charlotte discovered her powers when she was 11. It was unexpected, of course, and she didn't intend for it to happen. She wasn't even aware of her powers until the incident happened.

She was alone in her house, a cold autumn breeze flinging inside the small window of the old, run-down apartment. Charlotte never knew how to maintain a house, as she was too young when her mother passed.

Suddenly, the cool wind knocked a wooden bowl off a shelf. Charlotte had immediately reacted, flinging out her hand even though she was too far away. Out of nowhere, a thick spike of cool metal flung out of her hand like magic. It pierced into the wall, embedding itself sturdily. A few cracks were in the wall now, showing the metal had gone in strongly. A loud gasp escaped from her mouth.

Immediately, she retreated her hand. Was this possible? She walked to the wall with caution, picking up the wooden bowl along the way. Charlotte set it back with care and went to touch the spike in the wall. It was smooth, silver and felt very cool as she gently ran her fingers along it. She sighed deeply and knew that she wouldn't ever get that out. Yet she had a go on pulling it out anyway, and to her surprise, it flew back immediately she held her hand out. It landed in her palm.

This deeply confused Charlotte. Were these... superpowers? She'd seen and read enough comics with Steve and Bucky to know that superpowers were rare. But somehow, she'd been chosen to have these... powers.

She sighed again. When she closed her palm around the metal, it disappeared. Charlotte jumped back at the sight of this. H... how?

Then, she closed the window tightly, and moved the shelf to cover the wreckage from this strangely powerful metal. There were a few small cracks visible, but she figured nobody would notice unless they actually tried.

Out of nowhere, she heard a knock on her door. That should be Steve and Bucky. They were going together to play catch at the park, although she had to admit Steve wasn't the best at catch. But Bucky kept encouraging him, always taking him out so he could learn. Charlotte guessed it just wasn't really in Steve's blood.

Quickly grabbing a coat for the wind outside, she finally ran to open the door. Of course, it was those two guys. They all greeted each other then ran down to the park, careless.

They didn't know yet how much they took that for granted yet.

Years passed, and Charlotte was 16, her body absolutely beautiful. Her caramel hair was now shoulder-length, her blue eyes shimmering gracefully and her rose-shaped lips a cute pink. Yes, times had truly changed them, and even Bucky and Steve grew (although Steve grew very little).

"Are you serious?"

Bucky and Charlotte were sitting on the steps, the warm sunshine of Spring giving them a warm feeling. They were both laughing merrily.

"Yes!" Charlotte punched Bucky playfully into his shoulder.

"What do you mean, a girl like you hasn't gone dancing before?"

"What do you mean with a girl like you?" Charlotte quipped back.

Bucky just shook his head, grinning.

"I mean... you look like all the boys from the neighbourhood would be begging to go dance with you!"

Charlotte smiled, a soft blush crossing her cheeks. Sometimes she couldn't tell whether Bucky was joking or not. She hoped he was.

"No way."

They both laughed again. Then, Charlotte got up, grinning at Bucky.

"I have to go. After all, dinner won't cook itself. Are you and Steve coming over at six?"

"Definitely. You make a good soup."

Charlotte grinned playfully and said goodbye. Then, she ran up to her apartment, careful not to miss a step. Then, she quickly unlocked the door and jumped inside. Then, she hopped to her kitchen.

It was five years that Charlotte had been using her powers secretly now. They were very convenient, and she could bring things to herself without getting up and it worked as an excellent knife. She had always been careful that no one knew, not even her best friends, Steve and Bucky. She figured that if she'd tell them they'd be horrified. They'd tell her she was a freak and shun her, reject her, not accept her. The thought of her friends leaving her now made her sick to the stomach.

She thought about it more, not even realising that she was breathing heavily now. Then, she snapped, spikes of the silver metal flying everywhere. Digging into the brick walls. Breaking glasses. Charlotte jumped up with fright. Then she sighed, summoning her powers to come back to her. She didn't even know what that metal she was using was. It certainly wasn't normal metal, unable to be bent.

Now, she finished cooking dinner without a word or thought of worry seeping into her head. She couldn't let that outburst happen again. She just couldn't.

Soon, the door knocked just as she set the pot of soup onto the tiny, wooden table they regularly sat on now. After Steve's mother died, Charlotte took up the job of cooking dinner, as it didn't look like Steve or Bucky would be learning that anytime soon. Either way, she opened the door, inviting both the boys in. As she closed the door, there was a sigh of relief from her that they didn't seem to have noticed the cracks in the wall.

Nobody on that table seemed to know that war was coming

Somewhere in a HYDRA base...

Doctor Arnim Zola gazed thoughtfully at the photographs of the girl, seeing a hint of silver flying in the air. He knew what that was and he also knew that he needed to retrieve the girl soon. He smiled as he told Mr Schmidt these news, speaking rapidly and stuttering a few lines.

When Johann Schmidt received these news, he grinned to himself.

"Perfekt," he said in his thick German accent. "Zis could be vat ve need. A new weapon, along with our newest weapons. Herr Zola, I must congratulate you. Zis vill start our win in zee upcoming war."

Arnim Zola nodded eagerly, adding in,"And of course outpower everyone in ze vorld."

Ho hum, a small scene in HYDRA. Sorry this chapter isn't the longest, but I needed to reveal Charlotte's powers quickly and start setting up the war and the future a bit more, so I hope you don't mind!

Don't forget to review, review, review! :3
