OMG, chapter 15 already! XD

A/N: Hello my fellow trusty readers! Here's another fun chapter full of new things! *chapter flies everywhere*

I was not sure how long I was in the bathroom. But when I did finish crying, I glanced up into the mirror. My mascara had run everywhere and now I looked like Bucky when he 'killed' Fury. I rubbed my eyes for a bit, leaving them red and puffy. I tried listening for whether anyone was there, but no one was.

Slowly and carefully, I came out of my shell of a bathroom, carefully making my way to the lounge. They weren't there.

At first, I felt a sense of panic. Where were they?

Then, I saw a small note, folded up neatly, sitting on the spot where Steve had sat before. I picked it up and in Steve's neat writing, it said 'Charlotte'. I gently unfolded the note, my eyes skimming over the reading.

Went out shopping with Bucky. We'll be back at 11. Take care :)

I gave a sigh of relief. They just went shopping... for what? I pondered on this as I tried to make myself look like I didn't cry, carefully braiding my hair into a fishtail before cleaning my face up.

By the time I came back out again, I heard the door creak open. I glanced to the door from my notebook to see Steve and Bucky standing there with groceries and... a mattress?

"Hey," Steve began, smiling sweetly at me. I gave a weak smirk, picking up some bags of groceries to help.

"What's the mattress for?" I asked, cocking my head towards the bulky ivory thing.

"Bucky doesn't have a lot of space on the couch," Steve replied, quickly pulling the mattress inside. I set down the bags of groceries and nodded thoughtfully.

"So what are we having for lunch?" I casually try to make conversation.

"Well, I was thinking about sushi," Steve said, frowning. "But I'm afraid it's a bit new for Buck."

"Uh-huh," I commented, knowing that HYDRA didn't offer any sort of that food.

"So then I thought, what about pizza?"

I glanced up to see whether Steve was actually joking. Pizza? Really? I resisted my urge to roll my eyes.

"I guess.." I mumbled, not exactly caring. It wasn't like Bucky was going to have a scene because of pizza.

"Just one thing."

I looked up from unpacking the groceries again, seeing Steve's blue orbs bore into me.

"Can you please pick it up? Bucky and I... well, we'd sorta be recognised."

I nodded mutely. "Can someone take me there?"

That's where Steve hesitated.

"I... I can't leave Bucky all by himself in the apartment. And I don't think he wants to go out there just with you... ugh. Can you drive? I'll lend you my car."

I sighed, looking down at my feet shuffling on the floor. "Nobody ever taught me to drive."

Steve immediately stopped again, looking like a kicked puppy. I think he forgot that I was taken by HYDRA when I was what, 16?

"Okay. Then we'll all go. You just enter the shop, take the pizza, and we'll go."

"Why not just get it delivered?"

Steve's eyes darkened somewhat.

"We don't know who to trust."

The drive to the pizza place had been fairly short, with me sitting in the back and being ignored by both Steve and Bucky. Steve was far too involved in telling Bucky about basically everything, and Bucky was too involved in subtly zoning out and pretending he was listening to Steve talking.

When we finally did arrive, I hopped out of the car, Steve's wallet in my hand. He said I can use his cash, which would be far more useful, because everyone can track us with a credit card.

The pizza took basically next to no time being handed to me, as if they were waiting for me to enter their small, yet modern, shop. I handed them a wad of cash, then skipped back out and into the car with a waiting Steve and Bucky.

Bucky gave the pizza carton a funny look, before making his face robotic again and turning to the front, blankly staring ahead. Damn, it was annoying that he barely said anything anymore.

When we'd finally gotten back home, I jumped out of the car again, getting away from the tension and awkwardness building up in the car. We all shuffled up the stairs and then we sat down on the couches, each of us with a pizza in our hands.

"So this is pizza?" Bucky asked Steve as we began to ate. He was still staring at his questioningly... while ignoring me.

"Yeah," Steve replied with a mouthful of pizza. "It's really good. Don't worry, it's not poisoned."

Bucky gazed at the pizza for a bit more before he finally bit in. He seemed to really like it, as his bites became more and more rushed.

I chewed on mine carefully, ignoring the fact that Steve and Bucky were basically ripping the box apart. It was sort of comical, the situation. All I had to say was '100% done' and it would be a meme. Yeah, I know what a meme is. Deal with it.

When we finished lunch, I silently stood at Steve's bookshelf, glancing at the books he had. There weren't many, and I was certain that Steve hardly read any of these books, considering they mainly looked like gifts from Natasha and Fury. They were too generic and had too many styles of literature to have been bought by Steve.

I saw a very good book at the top, and I immediately reached up to get it. But because I was never really a tall one, I was struggling to get it. I was contemplating on just giving up and using vibranium to give myself a boost when a metal arm and a presence were behind me, easily reaching the book.

I turned to see Bucky, sheepishly holding the book. He handed it to me and a quick 'thanks' escaped my lips before he filed back to the couch, sitting down and looking like he was trying to find something to do.

That made me sort of sad. All our lives, we'd known what we wanted to do. Our hobbies would help and we'd have fun and play games. Now, our lives seemed sort of... empty. Like there was nothing fun left for us to do.

As I plopped down on the couch, I began reading, trying to ignore everything and get involved in the book.

Too bad a lingering presence near me always made me lose focus.

Ok, this chapter is just simple things, like pizza and Bucky ignoring Charlotte and Steve talking to Charlotte without being aware of Bucky ignoring Charlotte! *LOL that sounds really confusing*
