A/N: Hello darlings! Guess who's back with another fun chapter (or not, depends how I feel)?! ME! So, yah.
Enjoy! :3
The hug had been swift, and also unexpected. I had no frickin' idea where it came from, or how my senses decided this would be a good plan. Either way, I went out with it.
He smelled like something I couldn't put my finger on, a forest and amber. It mixed nicely, and I wanted to hold him a bit longer.
After a bit of hesitation, I let go of him, and he was staring at me with the most puzzled look ever.
Then, like a kick to the head, my actions dawned on me. I almost slapped a hand over my forehead, but instead, I composed myself professionally and straightened my clothes out.
"Well," I asked, sending an impatient edge to my tone. "Where are we?"
The room was all grey, and clinical. I hated it. It reminded me far too much of HYDRA. With a small wince, I pushed that thought away.
He kept staring, and I was wondering whether I broke him. Holy shit, you broke him. Good job, Charlotte.
Suddenly, he blinked rapidly, and shook his head. "I'm not supposed to tell you. Stay here. We'll be returning from the mission in two days."
They were leaving me here?!
My face drooped into a frown. "Wha- what do you mean, stay here?"
He just shook his head again, walking out.
"Wait!" I yelled, quickly rushing to my feet and trying to catch up with him.
But it was hopeless.
I crashed against the door he closed on me, and fell to the ground. Like a trapped animal all over again.
"Bucky! Let me out!" I banged against the flat-panel door, which, unfortunately for me, had no handles from the inside.
Tears began clouding my vision as my fists collided with the door. A small dent was left where I had hit the door especially hard with my right hand.
"Please! Let me go! Bucky! Anyone!"
Soon, I realised it was useless. I stopped banging. Dread settled into my body, an icky feeling.
I began stepping away from the door in fear HYDRA's guards were going to appear out of nowhere and bash me. My right hand began shielding my face, expecting an oncoming whiplash across my body.
Tears were streaming down my face like waterfalls now. Vibranium in the shape of spikes began flattening itself out on the floor, as if it were frost.
Then, the fear consumed me and vibranium went everywhere.
Bucky's POV
When Charlotte had hugged him, it had terrified the shit out of him yet amazed him.
She had held him close, completely careless about the metal arm that could kill near her. Well, who could he blame, considering she had a very similar arm.
He had tried to inhale her scent, and she'd smelled like fire, blueberries and daisies altogether. A strange mixture that somehow fit perfectly.
Slowly, he hesitated before reaching his arms out to hug her back, but she'd already pulled away. Damn it, Buck.
He was trying to figure out what had happened, but her face had dropped somehow and a different facade was up.
"Well, where are we?" She asked.
He remembered Tony warning him not to tell her where she was, even when she was just near the lab, as this was the Hulk-out room.
Then, Bucky blinked quickly, trying to imagine how pissed Tony would be if he told her.
"I'm not supposed to tell you. Stay here. We'll be returning from the mission in two days."
He felt pathetic saying those words. She probably didn't even want to stay here, as neither would he. But as it was, he picked himself up off the floor and trudged towards the door.
"Wha- what do you mean, stay here?" Bucky could hear Charlotte sounding almost... hurt.
In indifference, he shook his head again and kept walking.
"Wait!"
Her voice sounded so pained now. But he couldn't. He shouldn't stop. If he wanted her to stay, he'd leave her here.
He shut the door behind him, hearing a thud on the other side. He grimaced a bit, trying not to imagine what happened. Then, he walked over to the monitors that Stark told him to check before he left.
The sight was not pretty.
"Bucky! Let me out!"
She sounded like she was in a frenzy, and she was smashing her fists against the door in rage. He clenched his metal fist, trying to calm himself down.
"Please! Let me go! Bucky! Anyone!" Her voice sounded hoarse now, and he hated himself for doing this to her. He had obviously not thought through his actions. His mind drifted back to their hug, and he wanted to run back inside and hug her again because she felt like a perfect fit in his arms.
Charlotte began looking like she was shielding her face in fear. Bucky already knew why. The whiplash.
She was sobbing now, and vibranium was slowly creeping out of her. Then, it flew everywhere.
He flinched at the sight. Then thought about how easily she could be able to take out targets.
Suddenly, his opinion on not taking her reverted, and he stormed back to the meeting room to give them a piece of his mind... not literally, at least.
Charlotte's POV
I sat against the wall, my face in tears after crying for what seemed like an hour. My rattling heaves I had been calling 'breaths' finally slowed to a somewhat reasonable pace and I tried my best to be mad as hell at Bucky.
He's your friend, Charlotte.
Then again, it's not like you're worthy of any friends.
I cringed at the sound of stupid voices fighting in my head, and rubbed my temples. I really need my crazy to dial down a bit.
Most people would usually expect me to stay curled up, my caramel locks shielding me and my face from anything. People expect me to hide and keep having panic attacks. But with a smirk I realised that wasn't going to happen.
I may be Charlotte Jaines, but there is some part of the Silver Asset with me.
And I was finding my way outta this 'prison' tonight.
Ooooh, things are getting intense! And what about Bucky going back to the meeting room? Jeez.
Anyway, follow, favourite and review like Sebastian Stan or Chris Evans have just proposed to you! (I have no clue where this came from LOL)
Love you all! ;)
