If I Fell

Chapter 10

"Carlisle!" I yelled from the kitchen.

He came running in all sweaty from working out in the home gym.

"What's wrong?" he asked panicked as he kneeled beside me at the table and grabbed my wrist to check my pulse.

"I'm feeling dizzy, nauseous and my stomach hurts." I cried.

"How long? Any contractions, blood?" he asked panicked.

"No blood that I've seen and I don't think I'm having contractions. It just started about 5 minutes ago when I took the last batch of cookies out." I took a sip of water he handed me and let out a shaky breath.

"Let's get you upstairs to rest while I take a shower. OK?" he picked me up and carried me to our room.

I was now eight months pregnant and things had been going pretty smooth after the morning sickness had died down.

I must have fallen asleep because Carlisle was waking me up a little while later to tell me dinner was ready.

After dinner I was treated to a foot rub and back massage.

"So tomorrow, we need to go pick out the bedding and Lana's room will be done." Carlisle kissed the top of my head.

"Sounds good. Glad we have a day together." I sighed.

"Me too. It will be a nice relaxing day too. We don't want Lana making an early entrance." He playfully scolded.

"Most definitely not." I agreed.

We went to bed only to be awoke by the phone in the wee hours, Carlisle being called in for an emergency surgery, when you're the best, you're always on call.

"I'll be home for our shopping trip." He whispered before slipping away to work.

I was in the shower when Carlisle slipped in behind me.

"Now this is what I like to come home to. My naked wife, wet and ready for me." He pushed me against the shower wall and eased into me slowly. We made loved slowly before washing and drying each other off.

"I love hearing you call me your wife. But if everyone knew we went to the courthouse, instead of waiting until our actual wedding they'd be pissed!" I laughed.

"I know. I have to keep myself in check around them, I've almost slipped a few times." He kissed me softly.

Our shopping trip was fun. We finished picking out everything we needed and then some.

Once my feet started to show signs of swelling, Carlisle whisked me away to dinner and then home for another foot massage and a pampering shower, after we crawled into bed and fell fast asleep in each other's arms.

I awoke to soft kisses on my shoulders.

"Morning baby." Carlisle smiled.

"Mmmmm, morning." I whispered.

"I've got to go. I just want to make sure you're up and dressed, downstairs and on the couch before I go." He patted my butt before getting into the shower.

I waddle around and throw on some comfy sweats, I'm just staying home today, Renee is coming over with Rose today and they're going to help with the last minute nursery touches as well as a few things around the house. Charlie's been elected to bring lunch since he'll be on rounds today and everyone will be here for dinner tonight and we'll have a huge cookout, one last big dinner for us as a couple.

We had a blast putting the room together. These girls, well women were some of my best friends, and if Alice were here this would be the perfect mix. I'm hoping that her time with Jasper has made her fall in love and she'll at least think of living here part of the time.

"Did you ladies have fun today?" Emmett asks.

"Yes we did. They helped me finish up the room and get all her little clothes hung up and put away. Everything is ready, even my to go bag and they made one for Carlisle to take and keep at the hospital." I smiled.

We had a great time eating and hanging out, talking about our wedding after Lana is born.

Carlisle and I went to bed that night making love several times throughout the night, I couldn't get enough.

Only stopping when we both fell asleep from pure exhaustion.
