Umi's nightmare

Request from Roxie14: I love this story it's so cute can you do one where umiko as a child has a nightmare and Edward comforts her.

Edward woke to the sound of whimpering turning his head slightly he only saw darkness meaning it was no were near the time their mother would be up, he reached over the and switched the like on the nine year old looked over at his sisters bed seeing that she had twisted herself in the covers. Edward had woken up a few times in the night and went to crawl into bed with his parents, sometimes only find his mother there she would be twisted up in the covers similarly to how Umiko is now.

She was whimpering softly and tears streamed down her cheeks, Edward stepped closer towards the bed and gently shook his sisters shoulders, "Umi…"

"No…" She whimpered softly shaking slightly in his hold, "W-what… N-no…. N-not…. NOT UNCLE LUFFY!" She screamed suddenly bolting up right nearly smacking temples with her brother, she was breathing heavily and her silver eyes sparkled with fear.

"Umi…" Edward whispered, "It's ok Umi, Uncle Luffy is fine."

"Eddie…" The child whispered softly as she wrapped her arms suddenly around her brother squeezing him tightly, "It was horrible Eddie… truly horrible."

"What was it Umi?" Edward asked as he got onto the bed next to his sister still hugging her tightly to him rubbing her back softly, "You can tell me."

"I don't know… there was a big fat man… like the man in Blackbeards bounty poster you know the one that mum throws knifes at?" The five year old questioned.

Edward short of understood the past Blackbeard had with his fathers crew, Mum had explained to him that he was the reason why uncle Thatch went around in a wheel chair, but he still wasn't to sure why, "Yes Umi, I do go on?"

"Well… he was standing over Mummy first… Mummy was standing in front of Papa and Daddy… neither of them were moving… they were covered in red sticky stuff, Mummy was crying saying something like please don't hurt him… then he grabbed Mummy and started saying something…. Then she dropped to the ground and Uncle Luffy came to her rescue…. But he held Uncle Luffy down and…."

"Ssshh…." Edward whispered to his sister stroking her hair, "It's ok… we know Mummy is strong that no man dare cross her path."

"But it felt…"

"It was a dream Umi…" Edward told his younger sister as he started to rock her remembering this was what Mummy use to do when he had a bad dream, "Nothing can hurt you… it's all in the head."

Umiko nodded and snuggled closer to her brother, "Can…. Can you stay in my bed tonight?"

"Of course…" He grinned widely kissing his sisters temple and snuggled down still holding her, "Lets get some sleep."

The next morning Megumi slowly opened the childrens bedroom door and was slightly confused as she saw Edwards bed was empty but looking over she saw he was snuggled down into bed with his sister both children still fast asleep, Megumi decided just this once she will let them sleep in.

AN: Big brother Edward is the best lol.
