Part 40: "The Android Saga" (VI)
Meanwhile, Usagi, with Yamcha on his back, flew towards where Bulma and family were hidden.
"Aw, man," Yamcha replied. "How will I ever live this down?"
"Live what down?" Usagi asked.
"Here I am, one of the most powerful fighters on the planet, and yet I'm taken down at the first encounter," Yamcha said with a sigh. "What's the point of me being a Z Warrior, if I am nothing more than cannon fodder?"
"Yamcha, if you took your martial arts seriously, you'd probably be a better fighter," Usagi said. "Heck, I did offer you the booster serum."
"Yeah, but it would have affected my baseball career," Yamcha replied. "Bad enough as it is that people accuse me of being a 'juicer'. I don't want there to be evidence of it-"
"Um, Yamcha?" Usagi said suddenly.
"Yes?" Yamcha replied.
"Could you…not do that?"
"Do what?"
"I 'feel' you, you know?"
"Oh, I am so, sorry," Yamcha said, he blushed furiously. "It's just that, well…you are a 'MILF'...or is that a 'GILF'?"
Usagi sighed, wondering why males have to be such perverts sometimes…
Meanwhile, Super-Ranma turned to look at the latest arrival.
"So, you decided to show up," Super-Ranma said with a smirk.
"So, the half-woman decides to speak to his betters," SS Vegeta replied. "Lovely."
"Where the hell were you?" Piccolo asked.
"I've been training, of course," SS Vegeta said. "Didn't want to be the only Saiyan to be the 'legendary Super-Saiyan'."
"Actually, Goku got you beat there," Krillan said.
"Grandma said that she wants dated the first Saiyan-jin to become 'super'," Gohan said. "And, she did become a 'Super-Saiyan' before you did."
"Your grandmother would 'date' anything that breathed, and is remotely male," SS Vegeta sneered. "And as for 'Kakkarot', HE got lucky…"
SS Vegeta paused and poised while turning his full attention towards the cyborg that used to be Dr. Gero.
"And you, metal man, will finally know the real power of a Super-Saiyan, thanks to ME, the Prince of all the Saiyans!" SS Vegeta said, as he points his finger at the mad scientist.
"Oh, lovely," Dr. Gero said. "Do not think that just because Android-19 was defeated by a lucky shot, that I am so easily beatable…"
Suddenly, Dr. Gero points behind the Z Warriors.
"Ha-ha!" Dr. Gero yelled. "My army of androids have finally arrived to do away with you do-gooders!"
"Oh, Kami, no!" Krillan yelled, as he and everyone, but Dr. Gero, turned to see the arrival of…tumbleweeds.
WooooWooooWooooo…
"Hey, I don't see any more androids, old man!" SS Vegeta yelled, as he re-focused his attention back towards his would-be opponent, only to see yet more tumbleweed.
WooooWooooWooooo…
"WHAT?" SS Vegeta yelled.
"Ah, man," Super-Ranma groaned. True, in retrospect, it was understandable that the Z Warriors would fall for such a
"I can't believe we fell for THAT," Tien replied.
"YOU CAN'T?" SS Vegeta said. "I'LL KILL HIM FOR THAT!"
"Weren't you going to kill Dr. Gero anyway?" Krillan asked timidly.
"Shut up!"
"As much as I am enjoying this, we better go after the good doctor," Piccolo said with a smirk.
"Right!" SS Vegeta said. "And none of you will land the kill but ME!"
With that, SS Vegeta takes to the skies with the look of determination.
"As much as I don't want to, we better go help Vegeta out," Super-Ranma replied.
"But where do you think Dr. Gero went, grandpa?" Gohan asked.
"Considering our history with mad scientists, we better contact Bulma," Super-Ranma replied. "She problem knows where Dr. Gero's hideout, is."
"You would think that there wouldn't be the equivalent of a 'yellow page' for scientists, mad or otherwise, hanging around," Krillan said.
"You think?" Tien replied.
Meanwhile, back at one of the former hideouts for mad scientists…
"All better," Bulma said, as she finished her check up on Yamcha. "You're lucky that you didn't get yourself killed…this time."
"I know," Yamcha said, as he gets up from the examination bed. "I feel better, actually."
"So, are you going to go back out to help the others?"
"Um, actually, I'm feeling a bit queasy," Yamcha said, as he clutched his stomach. "Maybe…I can stay here to help protect Goku?"
"And to think we once dated," Bulma said as she shook her head.
"Hey, being a celebrity martial artist and sportsmen takes a lot of effort out of me, you know," Yamcha said in protest.
"Which is why I want you to stay here," Usagi said, as she takes off her martial arts top, showing off her sports bra and toned body.
"Hey, what are you doing?" Yamcha said nervously.
"I going to see my son," Usagi said, as she puts on a t-shirt. "If Ranma and the others need me, I can get back to them in a jiffy."
"Don't you have the 'Instant Transmission Technique' at your disposal?" Bulma asked.
"Of course I do, remember?"
"Wait, then why did you not use it when I was in trouble?" Yamcha said.
"Plot convenience'?" Usagi said with a shrug.
"…."
"Oh, before I forget, Goku and Chi-Chi wanted to tell you something, before they tell, um, Ranma," Bulma said nervously.
"Is there something wrong?" Usagi asked.
"No, but…well, they wanted to break some wonderful news to you, since you're here."
"Well, I'll go see Goku, now," Usagi said, as she leaves the examination room…
"What's going on?" Yamcha said, as he turned his attention towards Bulma.
"Why should I tell you anything?" Bulma said. "Besides, I promised to let Goku and Chi-Chi let THE FAMILY know first, before anyone else."
"I thought I was family," Yamcha replied.
"I thought so, too, before you cheated on me."
"Gah, you won't let that one go, huh?"
"Maybe," Bulma said, as she hears her phone ring. She quickly picks it up.
"Bulma, speaking…"
Meanwhile, in a storeroom, as space craft suddenly appears.
FWOOSH!
"Hey, there," Usagi said, as she enters the room.
"Oh, hey, Mom," Goku said with a sigh, as he sits down his "Popular Martial Artist".
"How are you feeling?"
"Bored, really," Goku said. "Mom, I fine."
"Maybe, but I want the others to think that you're not well," Usagi said, as she sits down, and across from her son. "You remember how sneaky Dr. Gero is."
"I know, but…we should have been more thorough when we defeated the Red Ribbon Army. And I don't like the idea of Gohan being there by himself."
"But he isn't," Usagi said. "Gohan is with your father, who is with Krillan and the others. Plus, you know how tough Gohan is."
"I know, but I don't want to think that the others are doing the work for me, when I should be there to protect THEM."
"Goku, you've never let anyone down, and you won't now…and in the future," Usagi said, as she touched her son's hand, and held it in hers. "Your father and I raised you to protect others, something that we promise your grandfather Gohan that we would do, before adopting you."
Goku smiled, and squeezed his mother's hand.
"Thanks, Mom," Goku said. "I really needed that…"
Just then, Chi-Chi enters the room.
"Um, hey," Chi-Chi said, as she looks around a bit with a nervous glance.
"Chi-Chi?" Usagi asked with concern. "Is something the matter?"
"No, Mom," Goku said with a smile, as he walks over to his wife of many years. He then proceeds to hold his wife's hand.
"Goku?" Usagi asked.
"Chi-Chi and I are, well, pregnant," Goku said with a broad smile.
Usagi's eyes widened before tears began to pour from her eyes.
"Mom?"
"I'm…I'm so HAPPY!" Usagi said, as she moves to hug both her son and daughter-in-law.
"We wanted to wait until the crisis was over, but Goku insisted that we tell someone," Chi-Chi replied.
"Well, I'm glad that you did," Usagi replied, as she broke the hug. "As soon as possible, we've got to have a baby shower-"
Just then, Bulma enters the room.
"Um, I guess Bunny knows," Bulma replied, as she surveyed the scene before her.
"What's up?" Goku asked.
"I just got through speaking with Ranma how to find Dr. Gero's lair," Bulma said.
"So, all of them are alive?"
"Um, yes, yes they are," Bulma said with annoyance. "Anyway, he said that they should wrap things up soon."
"Good," Usagi replied. "After all, we have a celebration to prepare for…"
Meanwhile, near Dr. Gero's location, a time-traveling space-pod appears out of nowhere.
FLASH!
"We did it," said Future Trunks, as he re-checks his instruments. "We are exactly one year into the future."
"Trunks-kun, do you think our parents will still remember us?" asked Future Usama, as she checked her hair and make-up.
"Usama, we're just ONE YEAR into the future," Trunks replied. "Well, from their perspective, at least…"
Future Trunks sets the time-traveling machine down in a nearly-hidden ravine. He and his adopted sister then exit the vehicle.
"Now, remember the plan," Future Trunks said, as he stretched his limbs. "We only interfere if Dad and the others absolutely need our help."
"Why can't we help now and get it over with?" Future Usama asked.
"Usama, we can't risk contaminating the timeline any more than we have to," Future Trunks said, as he activates the mechanism that can place any object into a capsule.
FWOOOMP!
"So, we just observe?"
"That's the plan."
"Okay," Future Usama said, as she thinks thoughtfully. "You know, a thought just crossed my mind."
"And that is…?"
"What if our interference in the timeline makes things worse for Dad and the others?" Usama asked. "We know from your Mother that Dr. Gero observed the Z Warriors for years before making his move against them."
"Don't be ridiculous," Future Trunks said dismissively. "As Mom said, as long as we are careful, we should be fine."
"I hope you're right, big brother," Future Usama said.
"I know I am," Future Trunks said. "Now, follow me…"
With a shrug, Future Usama takes to the skies after Future Trunks, not realizing just how right Future Usama's "analysis" was correct…
Meanwhile, Dr. Gero managed to escape back to his secret lair.
"At last, I made it back," Dr. Gero said. "And no one is the wiser-"
"About time you showed up," Super-Ranma said, as he suddenly appeared out of nowhere.
"What?" Dr. Gero said in amazement. "How did you manage to find this place before I got back to my lair-?"
Then a thought crossed the mind former scientist of the Red Ribbon Army.
"Wait, how did you manage to sneak up on ME?" Dr. Gero asked.
"Bulma Briefs, martial arts technique, martial arts technique," Super-Ranma said with a snort, referring to his connection to his friend, as well as his knowledge of the "Instant Transmission Technique" and the "Umisenken Technique", the later, if perfected, can render the user invisible.
"Damn it all to hell!" Dr. Gero yelled. "I should have never given that interview to 'Popular Mad Science'!"
"Whatever," Super-Ranma replied. "Look, I'm going to give you this one opportunity for you to surrender peaceful, being a sanctioned Federation Marshal and all."
"And if I don't?" Dr. Gero sneered.
"Then you will have a certain Saiyan Prince to deal with," Super-Ranma replied. "And I don't think he's the impatient type-"
"DIE!" yelled a familiar voice, just as both Dr. Gero and Super-Ranma felt the incoming of an energy projectile.
"Wha-?" Super-Ranma said, as both he and Dr. Gero narrowly dodge the attack.
BA-WHOOM!
"Now is my chance!" Dr. Gero yelled, as he rushed into his secret lair, closing its door behind him.
THOOM!
Super-Ranma coughs, just as SS Vegeta lands.
"Curses, I missed!" SS Vegeta yelled.
"You could have hit me with your attack!" Super-Ranma yelled.
"Which is why, I said that I missed," SS Vegeta said evilly. "You want to make something of it?"
Super-Ranma was about to retort when the other Z Warriors arrived.
"Grandpa!" Gohan yelled.
"Ranma, are you okay?" Krillan asked.
"I am, but somebody won't be," Super-Ranma said.
"I thought you were supposed to handle it?" Piccolo asked.
"Was going to, until it went all FUBAR," Super-Ranma replied.
"Vegeta?" Tien asked.
"Vegeta."
"Well, 'Vegeta' is going to end this the Saiyan-jin way," SS Vegeta said, as he prepared to launch his attack…
"Oh, no!" Future Trunks yelled from a far. "He's going to do it!"
"Do what?" Future Usama asked. "Your father is going to take care of the problem for us, right?"
"But there are so many variables to calculate at this moment!" Future Trunks said, as he took out his patented "bPad", and began to crunch the numbers. "According to my calculations and according to this 'Road-to-the-Apocalypse' app, we're totally screwed!"
"It doesn't say THAT," Future Usama replied.
Future Trunks showed Future Usama the results of his calculations…
"Wow," Future Usama said, as she took a close look at the numbers. "Your results really do say 'We're Screwed'…"
"I know!" Future Trunks said. "We have to-"
"GALICK GUN!" SS Vegeta yelled, as he discharged his attack.
"-Stop him," Future Trunks said sigh.
BOOM!
"Ahh!" Krillan yelled, as he and Gohan dived for cover.
"Whoa!" Super-Ranma said, as he squint his eyes while trying to avoid the debris. As the smoke clears, he could make out the supple form of an attractive blond…
"Well, well, well," the blond woman said, as she glance Super-Ranma's body. "I didn't know it was my birthday, Dr. Gero…"
Somehow, Super-Ranma knew that this woman, even ignoring the fact that the person standing before her had a "cold aura", would be trouble for him and his friends…
