- Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry -
Some four months later found Valerie on a boat, a boat which was slowly rising out of the Black Lake outside a grand castle which she believed to be called Hogwarts. She must admit she was ever so slightly excited about walking through some of the near millennium old corridors, as it was her very first time outside of the Manor. Though she was slightly anxious, after all, her future husband or as what her Mother called 'The love of her only daughter's life'.
Valerie never told her parents about what she had heard that night, and after two weeks of keeping it to herself, her Father and Mother had finally told her of the news she supposedly hadn't yet heard, and hearing it a second time didn't make Valerie feel any better about it at all.
Her Brother had been informed and to say he was pissed was an understatement, claiming that she was one; too young to marry yet. Two; Valerie should be marrying a Bulgarian Pure Blood, not some stuck up British ass. His words, though she couldn't have said it any better herself.
As the deck of the boat surfaced, Valerie followed her brother out and stood near him, watching the crew members follow through with tasks and drop the anchor into the unknown depths of the lake.
Clutching her heavy black jacket closer to her to keep her warm from the biting cold wind, Valerie turned to her brother.
"You know how none of the students know who I am he-,"
"Young Master Malfoy knows," Viktor cut her off.
Giving a half ass glare she continued speaking, "Would anyone find out?"
Viktor looked to the clouded sky in thought before replying, "Yes, I'm sure Karkaroff said something about Professor Dumbledore introducing you as my sister, as well as the fact that Karkaroff, You and I will be walking together in casual attire whilst the students are wearing appropriate, school representative clothing, come now."
Viktor took Valerie's hand and began to lead her towards the small boats on the side of the large ship, before jumping down and offering his hand like the Pure Blood gentleman he was raised to be. Taking her small hand in his large one, he helped her down into the boat before they began the small journey towards the shore of the lake.
Valerie was then lead by her brother towards the back of the Durmstrang students. As they all began to move up towards the Castle that would be her home for the next several weeks.
Valerie couldn't help the smirk that stretched across her face at the thought of finally being a part of the wizarding world for real, coming out of hiding. Walking through many corridors, Valerie's smirk only widened if possible at the whispers she soon found out were coming from the paintings littering the stone walls of the school.
"Who is she?"
"I thought Durmstrang was an all-male school?"
"If she was a student at the school don't you think she'd be wearing school attire?"
A louder, echoing voice broke her out of her thoughts and upon further inspection she noticed that the Bulgarian Students had stopped moving, standing staunch with their shoulders squared and hands behind their backs. Glancing even further ahead, Valerie saw what she could only assume was the Beauxbaton students from France, standing tall looking down their noses at everything the could see.
Stuck up, Prissy bitches, Valerie mentally snarked to herself.
"While we're all settled in a sorted, I'd like to make an announcement."
Two grand doors creaked open and light flitted into the dusty hallway, illuminating the faces of her peers and shadowing Valerie even more into the mass of men she was standing with.
"This castle will not only be your home this year,-"
Ahh, Valerie realized, that must be Professor Dumbledore.
"But to some very special guests this year aswell,"
Was that running she could hear?
More Whispers? What the bloody hell is going on in there?
Valerie watched as the Beauxbaton students filed into the room, heels clacking and a series of ahh's and oh dear god are those birds?! Valeries had no choice but to swallow the bile that had risen in her throat. Valerie wasn't a very girly girl, infact, the only reason she was here was because her Mother had sent her in hopes of her bonding with 'The love of her life.'
Wait, there actually applausing for this bull shit?! Maybe it was the fact that they were supposedly half Veela.
"And now our friends from the North, please greet the proud sons and daughter of Durmstrang, and their High Master, Igor Karkaroff."
More whispers erupted but to be honest, Valerie could care less, she was about to finally step out into the public eye.
Valerie watched intently and the Durmstrang students marched forwards throught the doors with their staffs, performing the rehearsed act. Sparks burnt out through the doors and Valerie felt her heart thumping with anticipation. She could hear the sounds of running footsteps and knew they were doing the acrobatic part of their production, Viktor insisted that it was acrobatics and most definitely not gymnastics. Walking along side her Brother, in front of Karkaroff, the stares and whispers increased rward, fixed on the dragons of fire that were being blown around the tables.
Stepping aside with her brother she allowed Karkaroff through to greet Dumbledore.
"Dumbles," The Bulgarian greeted warmly, embracing the old wizard.
Dumbledore chuckled a reply before Karkaroff walked over to the left side of the Hall which she had now realized was the Great Hall, leaving the twins standing next to Dumbledore.
"Now," Dumbledore silenced the room, "These two are not to be harmed in anyway, shape or form. Viktor, as you know , can handle himself, and while I do not allow threats into Hogwarts, this will be the one exception; any person who inflicts any harm, emotionally, mentally, or physically, intentionally or unintentionally to Valerie Krum, will be seen to accordingly by Viktor and High Master Karkaroff."
Looking around the hall, Valerie found all eyes on her, she had been told about the school and the school houses. She found it rather easy to find the Slytherin table, all of the students glaring at others across the hall and the others staring right back, she figured that the ones staring back must be the Gryffindors. She soon recognized the Hufflepuff students, dressed in their yellow and black school robes. And that left the remaining table to be Ravenclaw.
Her eyes drifted aimlessly, taking in all of her surroundings. Looking back at the Gryffindor table she soon found her eyes on Harry Potter, the boy who lived. Mentally sneering and thinking about all her parents had told her of that no good git and how he always found himself in trouble, dragging his friends into life threatening situations as well, she thought about his school enemy. Malfoy.
It was rather easy to spot the platinum haired boy, his hair stuck out like a sore thumb for fucks sake! she mentally snorted to herself. Without realizing it, Valerie had begun assessing him, broad, strong looking shoulders, defined jaw line, thin lips twisted into a trademark Slytherin smirk, narrow nose, and a pair of mercury eyes.
The eyes that now held her stare.
