_- I don't own Harry Potter.. -_
Not long after introductions were made, Valerie's eyes were still met with Draco's, She mentally sneered, but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't pry her stare away from the metallic, piercing gray eyes on her own, in fact, it took her brother having to almost drag her from her firm stance near the owl podium, where the Hogwarts Headmaster spoke from.
Even then, as Viktor led her towards the Slytherin table, where her Parents told her she must sit with people of her status, she couldn't help but try to look around Viktor's broad back to find the now hidden Malfoy heir.
Upon approaching the table, students parted and moved along the benches, hoping to sit next to the famous Quidditch player, and some even made way for her, most of them from the male population of the school.
Taking a seat, she looked around at her surroundings, now noticing she sat with her brother on her left and a darker skinned male to her right. But what made her do a double take was that her brother had chosen to seat her across the table from the 'love of her life.'
Taking off her black leather gloves and placing them to the left of her plate, she snuck a glance towards Draco, and noticed that he was attempting conversation with her brother. As if sensing her gaze, he turned to her, with an arrogant smirk plastered on his face, he outstretched his hand across the table,
"Draco Malfoy," He introduced himself proudly.
Sighing to herself, she placed her hand in his, "Valerie Krum." Attempting to retract her hand, his long pale fingers clasped around her small hand, before raising it to his lips, pressing a light kiss to it. Lingering he spoke, "A pleasure."
After doing this so many times to the many men she had met at Pureblood balls, she sighed out loud this time, "The pleasure is all mine."
His gripped had loosened after hearing the emotionless tone of her voice and she quickly took the chance of bringing her hands back into her lap, and shooting Viktor a dark look after he elbowed her gently in the ribs before leaning down and mumbling in her ear,
"Remember what Father said."
Ah yes, her dear Father had given her a great lecture on how she should behave around the young Malfoy, how she should talk, walk, eat, sit, everything, down to the smallest of all details, and then actually having her Mother making her perform all of the movements and responses she would use, and have them perfected to more than what was to be expected of a High Class Pure blooded woman.
The slightly more mature looking man on Draco's left introduced himself as Theodore Nott, a noble Pureblood she noticed, and the dark skinned Male to her right, Blaise Zabini, had immediately caught her attention through polite small talk, which had now advanced into a more relaxed conversation, rather than the classic mannerism that had been drilled into all respectable Purebloods since before they could cast the simplest of spells.
"Qual è il tuo fratello come?" Blaise questioned, before taking a sip of what she was informed was Pumpkin Juice.
Giving a small chuckle, she shook her head, responding in English, "Ah, yes, Viktor, he is very good at Quidditch, he excels academically-"
Blaise cut her off, shaking his head, "No, no, no, qual e il tuo fratello come intorno a te?"
Stopping to think, her brows creased in thought, she didn't know what to say, when she thought of Viktor, her twin, she could remember all of the times before her went to school, all the times where they would run around the Manor, causing havoc, getting in trouble and blaming it on one another, or that time when Viktor came home on the rare occasion, when they were 12 to be exact.
-Flashback-
"Please, please, please, please, please PLEASE!,"
Earlier that day, Viktor had shown his Valerie some of the magic he learnt whilst away at Durmstrang, one of the spells where he made the orange flames in the fire turn into things, a move.
"No, go back to bed, I want to sleep," Viktor's voice was muffled by the pillow he had put over his head, in hopes of blocking out his Sister's voice.
"C'mon, PLEASE! I'll go back to bed!" His sister bargained in a hushed whisper trying not to wake their parents. Hopping off the bed and onto the floor as her brother sat up, they both walked across the room to the small fire place that Viktor's room held, whispering a spell, he lighted it, before commanding the flames to form into small people, dancing.
Squealing quietly to herself, Valerie eagerly sat down next to Viktor, who wrapped her in his arms in a hug, where they stayed watching the flames dance to a very soft tune which lulled them to a tired state.
"Do you love me Viktor?" Valerie questioned so softly, if Viktor hadn't felt her snuggling into his embrace further, he would've still been watching the flames so intently, he wouldn't have heard her.
"Of course, Sister," He replied, confused as to what made her doubt his brother love for her.
"Then why did you leave me?" She questioned, but before he could answer, her soft snores filled the room, and eventually he fell asleep too, holding her protectively as the music from the fire drifted in the air.
"Valerie?" Blaise questioned, concerned as to why she had zoned out, "Is something the matter?" He asked softly, speaking back in English.
Valerie lifted her gaze from her lap where her hands were fidgeting, she looked up and noticed that Blaise's question hadn't been so quiet and had attracted the attention of her Brother and Malfoy.
Stuttering she replied, "No, not at all Blaise, I am fine."
Turning back to her food she spent the rest of her meal eating in silence, listening to the talking surrounding her.
As the students were dismissed, Valerie followed the lead of her Brother once again, not paying attention to where she was walking until Viktor came to a halt, causing her to stumble into his back. She never was aware in the change of temperature as she noticed she could only think of where she was now as the Dungeons of the vast castle, other than the fact that it was a lot colder and seemed more damp, it was also dark as no light could be seen through the small windows of the corridor.
It's night, did you really expect to see any light from outside? She mentally face palmed herself, something she caught off of one of Viktor's friends he bought home during his rare school break visits, she never saw that particular boy again, it may or not have been her Mother telling the young boy's Mother ever so politely to keep her son away from Viktor.
The sound of an old door creaking broke her from her thoughts of her childhood, the days where her and Viktor were much closer than they are now, and she could see that Malfoy was holding the door, awaiting her entry.
He must have seen the questioning look on her face before simply answering, "Head boy tasks."
Head boy, another thing to add to her mental list of things that made this young man attractive, though she would never admit that aloud.
She walked past him through the door frame but didn't make it far as he gently, but firmly grasped her hand, pulling her back to him. She stiffened as she felt his lips against the shell of her ear,
"Make sure you wear something nice to the Yule Ball."
He swiftly turned and left, his long strides only taking him seconds to disappear around the bend of the passageway, leaving her confused and to her thoughts.
