"What the hell are you doing?" Ritsu questioned, leaning against the door-frame of the front entrance to his apartment, looking completely unimpressed.

"What does it look like I'm doing?" Takano responded, as if it were obvious.

"It looks like you're making complete idiots out of the both of us and disturbing the neighbors!"

"I am 'the neighbors'. Besides, isn't this what people in the movies do?"

"There are other people in this building besides you and I sincerely hope you're joking otherwise I'm losing any respect I have for you."

"You have respect for me?"

"How do you always just hear what you want to?"

"It's a talent. Anyways, I think this is the part where you forgive me and we make up or something like that?"

"That's not how real life works." Ritsu said, already exasperated with the ridiculous conversation. Takano gave him a blank stare, ignoring his words as he slowly turned up the volume on the old boombox he was holding, a cheesy love song currently playing from it.

"I'm just gonna make the music louder and louder until you invite me in."

"Aren't you supposed to be outside holding that thing anyways?!"

"We live way too far up for you to ever be able to hear it, so…" Takano trailed off, figuring Ritsu could piece the rest by himself. "Not to mention I definitely couldn't throw pebbles high enough to hit your window. Then I'd just have to text you to open your window or something and that'd just be stupid-"

"That'd be the stupid part?" Ritsu asked, starting to believe that he was hallucinating. Ritsu wished he could go back in time and tell his younger self that his senpai would one day be at his door with an old boom box as an attempt to 'court' him. He'd love to see his own face. But right now he imagined his own face wasn't a pleasant expression.

"Good night, Takano-san." Ritsu said before Takano could say anything more, shutting his door. He sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose, leaning against the door. He heard the music steadily increase in volume on the other side. The younger man tried to ignore it, but the music was eventually at it's maximum volume with Takano's own voice starting to shout along with the lyrics. Ritsu was quick to rip the door back open after Takano started singing, patience running thin.

"Hey," His boss said over the blaring music as if nothing was out of the ordinary. "You gonna let me in yet?"

"If I let you in will you turn that damn thing off?!"

"Definitely." Takano answered without hesitation. The thing was starting to feel heavy anyways.

Ritsu merely scowled at his boss for a few moments before reluctantly opening his door wider. Takano's smirk returned as he turned the out-of-date boom box off and entered Ritsu's apartment.

Maybe cheesy movies and mangas could be learned from.
