Tina watched as the police officers entered Will's house with Amir. Sanjay stood by her side. She could see the look of determination mixed with concern on his face. She felt the same way. Amir and the police were merely a diversion. She and Sanjay were going to do the hard work. She had been surprised that Sanjay had agreed so readily with her idea. Even the King himself had endorsed their plan.
"You realize the ramifications if we get caught?" Tina asked.
"I am fully prepared," Sanjay replied. Tina nodded. She was impressed by this man. He appeared to be mild mannered at first, but he had a streak in him that was tough.
"Recon today," Tina reminded him. "If she's there we will get her out later." Sanjay nodded stiffly. Tina touched his arm. "Hey, she needs us to be strong. We risk her life if we try anything too impulsive."
"Yes," Sanjay sighed.
"Prince Amir!" Will greeted, he smiled broadly. "I am happy to see you here!"
"Where is the girl?" Amir asked. Will expected this. Even so, he had not expected the prince to be so abrupt.
"What girl?" Will asked.
"Don't play dumb with me Regison. The girl. The one who you claimed was your wife," Amir stated. "You and she disappeared from our palace at the same time."
"I didn't disappear," Will stated. "I had urgent business here to attend to. As for my wife, if you've lost her I am the one who should be angry!" Will watched as the prince's face hardened. He had never seen Prince Amir act this way.
"I'm not stupid Regison," Amir stated. "You and I both know that girl is not your wife."
"How dare you!" Will shouted.
"Sir," one of the police officers interjected. "We have a warrant to search your premises." Will glared at the officers. They would never find a thing.
"Fine," Will replied. He stepped aside. "I will have my attorney contacting you soon."
Gwen paced her office. She was worried about her case. When they had the girl it had been a slam dunk. But now the girl was missing. She should have foreseen this happening. The whole situation had her on edge. Lyla had been threatened as well. She blistered while thinking about it. Lyla had done nothing to merit being hurt. At least Jack was staying with Lyla. Her job now was to make sure no one else in town died.
"Gwen?" Came a tentative voice. Gwen looked up to see Joe standing in her office. Looking at Joe made her sad. He looked so much like his brother. She still missed Kurt every day.
"Hey," Gwen said hoarsely. She was fighting back tears.
"Woody sent me, he says you haven't been around in a while, he wanted to make sure you were okay," Joe replied.
"Yeah I'm okay," Gwen sighed. "I'm just really busy. Tell my grandfather that I will stop by later this week."
"You really doing okay?" Joe asked. Gwen nodded. She found it hard to speak at the moment. Memories of Kurt were flooding in. Joe gave a sympathetic smile before he left. Gwen sighed heavily. She needed something to give. She had talked to the reporter who had asked for her help. But she had questioned both Jamie and and Alex, neither one of them knew. She had also attempted to speak with Vaughn, but he had lawyered up. Without the girl, this case was going to be hard to prove.
"I must apologize," Amir stated. He gave a chagrined look to Will. "I am afraid we have jumped to conclusions."
"You most certainly have!" Will stated indignantly. The search had proved fruitless. Amir had known that this was going to be the case, but it was still disappointing.
"Take this," Amir stated. He held out a ring. "It is the ring that bears our royal crest. If you present this at the palace, they will know to bring you to me. This signifies that I owe you a favor." He could see Will smile. He wanted nothing more than to punch that smile off his smug face.
"Thank you prince Amir," Will stated. As customary when given a gift of this caliber, Will placed it on his finger. "I believe we are done today?"
"Yes we apologize for the intrusion." Amir stated. He tried to sound as embarrassed as possible. He only hoped that Tina's plan worked.
Tina and Sanjay sat in the surveillance van. It had worked. Will had been so concerned with getting back to Rachel, that he hadn't taken the ring off. It was difficult to see what was happening, but it was the only way they could think of to get a camera on Will.
"There she is!" Sanjay cried out. He stood up out of his seat. Tina grabbed his hand.
"Calm down," Tina reminded. We need to just watch for tonight. Sanjay sat back down. He was startled that Tina had been able to read him so easily. He looked at her smiling.
"I don't want to do anything that would put her in danger," Sanjay replied. He had been excited and angry when he had seen her. But Tina was right, they needed to observe tonight.
"She looks terrified," Tina observed. Anger tinged her voice. It was hard to see her friend in such a state. It made her even more determined to take Will down.
Rachel shrank back against the headboard of the bed as Will approached her. His behavior had been sporadic at best and he had already left a few bruises on her arms. She wasn't sure how to react to his moods.
"Hello my darling," Will greeted. "Sorry to leave you alone for so long. I had some unwanted visitors." Rachel looked up.
"Who?" She asked tentatively.
"That pesky Prince Amir," Will mumbled. "But he won't be bothering us anymore. He has seen the errors of his inquiry." Rachel felt deflated. She had been momentarily excited when he had mentioned Prince Amir. Was it possible the prince had been duped by this man? She struggled against tears. She did not know how Will would react to her crying.
"Now," Will stated. His tone was much less friendly. "Now we must discuss your duties." He stepped closer to her. Rachel shrank back even further. She didn't like the look on his face.
"My duties?" Rachel asked. She trembled in fear at the thought of what he meant. She felt a despair in her heart. This was worse than she had ever imagined for herself.
"Yes," Will replied in a soft voice. He sat down next to Rachel and started caressing her cheek. "You are to be a replacement for my dear wife. You are a poor replacement, but since you running away caused her death, I think you owe this to me." Will leaned in and kissed her softly. Rachel felt herself recoiling. Instinctively, she pulled away. Will grabbed her hair, and pulled her head back. "Do not pull away from me. Remember I own you!" Rachel shivered.
"S-sorry," she stammered. Will let go of her hair, then pulled away from her.
"I will give you some time to get used to what it is you need to do," Will said gently. "I am sorry to have scared you. I will go for now." Rachel watched him leave the room and breathed a sigh of relief.
"That bastard!" Sanjay shouted. "I'm going in there!" Tina grabbed his arm, as he started to sit up.
"Sanjay," Tina interjected. "Be smart about this. Rachel needs us to do this right." Tina tried to keep her voice as calm as she could. It angered her to see her friend being treated that way. But she also knew acting rashly would do nothing to help Rachel.
"We can't just let him keep doing this to her," Sanjay insisted.
"I know," Tina said. She had thought she could do this alone, but she was starting to realize that she was in way over her head.
"That man is disgusting," Sanjay replied. He was calmer now. She was relieved to see it. She needed him to be calm.
"I have an idea," Tina stated. Sanjay looked up at Tina, she could see the interest in his eyes. She smiled reassuringly. "I think this might just work."
Gwen stared at her phone in disbelief. She had felt so frustrated earlier in the day, and just like that the lead she needed landed in her lap. When the reporter had called her earlier, she had been surprised to hear that they had found the girl so quickly. Will Regison must really not be in his right mind to bring the girl to his home. It relieved her to know that the evidence wouldn't be destroyed either. Rescuing the girl, was top priority at this point. She needed to make sure that this was done right. She picked up the phone and punched in Lyla's home phone number.
"Hello?" Came Lyla's sleepy voice over the phone.
"Hey, sorry I know it's late, but is Jack there?" Gwen asked.
"Yeah," Lyla replied. "Just a minute." Gwen heard some muffled voices.
"Hey," Jack said. "What's up?"
"They found the girl," Gwen informed.
"What?" Jack asked. He nearly shouted into the phone.
"Whoa easy there, yeah we got her location. Are you ready to go?" Gwen asked.
"Yes I am," Jack replied.
Lyla watched the range of emotions splay across Jack's face. He was so handsome. He gave the phone back to her and sighed.
"I gotta go," Jack stated. "A big lead just came up in the case." Lyla felt a bit disappointed, she ha shooed to spend the night with him, but she understood.
"Okay," she answered. She gave him a quick kiss. He looked at her and smiled.
"You be careful, don't let anyone in your house, no matter who it is," Jack warned.
"I won't," Lyla promised. She watched as he slipped out of the bedroom. She was content. More content than she had been in a while. She had fallen for Jack. She knew it was a risk falling for a man like him, but she also knew that it was worth it. Even if he did end up hurting her in the end.
