How to adopt?

Request from Rankochi: How about a modern one where Luffy and Law want to adopte and ask Megumi about it? :)

"I want to adopt," Luffy stated, "I want a kid… Well kids loads of them all just running around the house."

"Are you sure… I mean, your nieces and nephews are a hand full as it is?" Law questioned his partner not so surprised that this conversation had come up, Luffy was used to a loud house living with his brothers for years before they moved out and go their own place.

"I want our own, I want to tuck them in at night and read bed time stories, go to parent evenings and…."

"Alright," Law chuckled, "Call Megumi-ya in the morning and have her come over she knows about this stuff."

The next day Megumi popped over after work, still dressed in business attire Law smiled at the shorter woman as he answered the door, "Lovely to see you again Law," She smiled kissing the man on the cheek as she entered before she was swooped up into a hug by Luffy.

"Thank you, for coming over," law told her as he closed the door behind her.

"Not a problem at all," She smiled as Luffy placed her back on his feet, "So what can I help you with?"

"I want to adopt…. Well we… actually…" Luffy grinned scratching the back of his head.

"You adopted two kids," Law stated as they moved into the living room and sat down on the black leather sofa, "We…"

"You want to know the proceedings?" Megumi asked, both men nodded their heads, "Well… first you have to register with the adoption agency we went with Sunny Orphanage because that's where Marco grew up before Pops found him. It can be a long process or a short one, but Sunny is a brilliant place."

"So paper work… how do they find the right kid…?" Luffy asked.

"They don't find the right kid, they will show you the children that are there you can read through their files or meet them in person it's up to you. But it is a two way street, if the children doesn't feel comfortable with you as well," Megumi told them.

"So the children they get to choose, if they want to go with the parents?" Law questioned her.

"Yep… There is a lot of background checks that go on behind the scenes as well CRB check, mental health all those sort of things to make sure you aren't dangerous for the children," She explained.

"That's understandable…" Luffy murmured.

"They also ask people you know close family, friends or maybe work colleagues on how they think you will be with kids."

"So… that won't go well for us," law sighed.

Megumi smiled softly at him, "They can see how you are with your nieces and nephews… you will both do fine. Just give them a call… Oh wait," She grinned softly and pulled a card out of her purse, 'Sunny Orphanage' was written in curvy lettering on the front, "Ask for Monet she will get you all set up."

AN: Megumi is just a walking book of knowledge I swear lol, thank you. Everything will get better just three weeks them calm lol I am so glad its bank holiday Monday tomorrow lie in and catch up on tv that's my plan lol. Yeah you would think with Zoro being his father he would be able to drink the entire ship out of booze and still be sober.
