A/N: In which cake drives a wedge between the two of them.

"Jellal," Erza was full-on glaring at her fiancee at this point, arms crossed and posture stiff. "Are you suggesting what I think you're suggesting?"

"C'mon, Erza," the blue-haired mage tried to reason. "At least consider something else-"

"Care to remind me why exactly I'm marrying you again?"

A few, scattered gasps echoed through the bakery, Erza shocking even herself with the words. She almost immediately regretted it once the hurt look passed Jellal's face and the man excused himself from their company before hurrying out.

Quickly realizing what was happening, Erza jumped out of her own seat and ran after him, catching up with the ex-convict just as he began crossing the street. "Jellal!"

"Something you forget to tell me?" He asked her, and despite the sarcastic, bitter tinge to his tone she could see the pain in his eyes. Without a word, she threw her arms around the man and hugged him tight, nearly knocking both of them to the ground.

"Sorry," she murmured quietly. "I got ahead of myself. You know I didn't mean it."

It took a few seconds, but Jellal wrapped his arms around the redhead cautiously, pulling her closer to him. The duo embraced for a moment, disregarding the world around them, before Jellal dropped a soft kiss on the crown of her head.

"It's okay, Scarlet," he offered her a crooked smile. "That's what I get for coming between you and your strawberry cake, huh?"
