When I woke up the house was quiet. I felt awake and restless. I went down the hall stairs to the first floor where the living room was. I didn't bother leaving a note for the housekeeper as I left the house. Tomorrow was her day off. She might figure I was already at ballet by the time she woke up. I hoped so. I made my way outside and started walking. I looked at my phone and noticed it was 11. The night was cold dark and quiet which surprised me. Everything was still. I guess it wasn't exactly 7 a.m. light and alive. I made my way past several houses down several blocks. Even if someone had been awake I doubt they'd have noticed me. I past trees and lawns. More houses. I was wary of being out at this hour but it was also what I wanted. Its not like I had a mom around to tell me not to or even a good friend. And I'm not sure I would've listened.
Surprisingly at this hour there were cars driving by. I stopped to let them pass.
I headed straight then panned left down a hill. Then right again. I walked several miles and ended up downtown. There were still people out.
