A/N: It's the simple things, according to Erza, that matter the most.
She couldn't stop the small smile from forming on her lips as she watched him have a conversation with Laxus about something most likely trivial, like the neighbouring guilds. But it was times like this that she cherished the most; when he would look over in her direction and offer her a soft, tender smile.
It reminded her that, sometimes, it wasn't as obvious that he was a criminal. That their past was dark and filled with angst, things that were irreversible.
It reminded her that they were now fixed, were fixable, and bonded more closely than ever before.
It reminded her that their relationship stood a fighting chance against the world, whether they acknowledged it or not. Because the gist of their love was this: no matter how far away their were, their love was strong enough to move mountains, shake whole cities, and it was strong enough to last through another few years of atonement.
The simple things he did reminded her of huge reliefs, and she wouldn't have it any other way.
