Chapter 47: Favor for a Friend
On a beachfront amusement park a well-endowed woman with blonde hair wearing a green trench-coat, a gray top, and black skirt strolled along reluctantly while a younger dark-haired one wearing a black dress and matching trench-coat walked alongside her.
"Why did we leave that gambling house so soon, Miss Megara?" Asked the dark-haired woman. "You were on a winning streak."
"I know, and that's what worries me, Adessoè," the blonde-haired woman responded. "I've never had one before, which means something bad is going to happen."
"Are you sure?" Adessoè said doubtfully. "I've always been told you shouldn't look a gift-horse in the mouth."
"Unless that horse just so happens to be a bunch of snakes."
Adessoè looked in the direction Megara was staring at and gasped. From the ocean emerged two giant snakes, which caused the people nearby to run away. On their backs rode a pair of hooded individuals, one of whom Megara glared at.
"Typhonragazzo," Megara stated, addressing the pale-faced man whose arms were bandaged up. "I thought I'd never see your ugly face again."
"And I see your sharp tongue hasn't lost its edge, Megara," Typhonragazzo smirked, though sweat dripped from his forehead as he nodded to Casco. "This is my associate, Casco Tradotto."
"Pleased to meet you, Miss," Casco said politely and turned to Adessoè. "And you are?"
"Adessoè," Megara stated before Adessoè could answer. "She's my travel companion."
"Seems we're not so different in our old age, having to rely on younger assistants for help," Typhonragazzo observed.
"I'm not that old," Megara denied, clenching her fist. "And I'll prove it to you."
Casco raised his hand. "We're not here to fight, Miss Megara, but to ask for a favor."
Megara gritted her teeth. "I don't need any favors from you."
"Even though we used to be friends?" Tyhonragazzo unwrapped the bandages on his arms, and showed them to Megara. "Being an expert Healer (Medical Ninja), you should already know what ails me."
"It doesn't take a genius to figure that out," Megara stated, and looked at Typhonragazzo's blackened arms with concern. "Someone has stolen a piece of your soul, thus making you unable to use spells (Jutsu)."
"The one who did this to me was none other than the Third Godfather (Third Hokage), before I killed him," Typhonragazzo proclaimed.
This news shocked both Megara and Adessoè.
Seeing their frightened looks made Typhonragazzo chuckle. "Now if you'll cooperate, I guarantee the same fate won't happen to you."
"You're bluffing," Megara guessed, making Typhonragazzo flinch. "Even if your boyfriend does do the spells for you, the fact is that without a complete soul you're just as good as dead."
Casco frowned. "Why, you—
"Calm down, Casco," Typhonragazzo interrupted. "I understand your desire to not help me, Megara, but there is something you want which I can give."
"And that is?" Megara asked as she raised an eyebrow.
Typhonragazzo cleared his throat, and said, "As you know, I was thrown out of the Foglia (Konoha) family for experimenting on people in order to perfect the Gift of Persephone* (Summoning: Impure World Reincarnation)."
Confused, Adessoè turned to Megara.
"It's a curse (kinjutsu) that allows one to resurrect the dead," Megara explained. "I take it you've perfected it, Typhonragazzo."
"Indeed I have," Typhonragazzo admitted. "With it, I can bring back those you loved: Corda (Nawaki), your brother, and Giudice (Dan), your lover."
Hearing that, Megara's eyes widened.
"I'll give you some time to think about it," Typhonragazzo responded as he steered his snake back into the water. "Meet me here tomorrow morning to give me your answer."
Then Casco followed Typhonragazzo's example and the two vanished into the waves.
Sighing deeply, Megara stormed off while Adessoè followed.

At a bar near the beach, Megara ordered drinks for her and Adessoè. Then sometime later, Adessoè went to the bathroom while Hercules and Gelato entered.
"That's her," Hercules said quietly to Gelato. "You wait here."
Not questioning him, Gelato stood nearby as Hercules approached the woman he'd been talking about since they set off from the Foglia District (Konoha Village).
"Hey," Hercules stated as he sat next to Megara, eyeing her enormous breasts. "I see you've gotten prettier since we last met."
Frowning, Megara downed the rest of her bourbon in one gulp. "You're the last person I want to see right now, Hercules. Today's been a bad day, and I'm not in the mood for playing catch-up."
"Typhonragazzo got to you first, didn't he?"
Megara flinched. "How did you know?"
"Heard reports of giant snakes spotted near the amusement park, so I connected the dots," Hercules explained. "What did he offer?"
"It's of your business," Megara replied, asking the bartender for another bourbon shot. "So why are you here? It can't just be because you miss me."
"Smart as always," Hercules commented, only to be met by a glare from Megara. "Anyway, assuming Typhonragazzo told you about the Third Godfather's death, I wanted to ask if you'd be willing to take his place."
Instead of answering, Megara downed the next bourbon shot and coughed a little as she swallowed it too quickly. "Only a fool would take the title of Godfather."
"What did you say?" Gelato yelled, storming up to Megara.
"Who's the kid?" Megara asked and turned to Hercules. "Is he yours?"
"This is Gelato Vortice," Hercules said. "He's a Soldier (minor member of a Mafia) of Spauracchio Incombere's (Kakashi Hatake's) who offered to travel with me to find you."
"Jeez," Megara scuffed. "I thought the Foglia family was done hiring kids after the Third Mafia War (Third Ninja War) took so many."
Then Megara got up from the bar stool and was about to head out when Gelato grabbed her wrist.
"Take back what you said about the Godfathers being fools," Gelato demanded.
"Let go of me, you little brat," Megara growled.
"Please, Miss Megara, don't hurt him," Adessoè insisted, running over from the bathroom. "He's just a boy."
"We'll see about that," Megara said, and dragged Gelato outside of the bar.
