He listened from his perch in the God tree as they argued the same thing they had been for the better part of an hour. Though he admitted the argument was a bit one-sided with Kagome vainly attempting to placate the half-demon who refused to stop yelling at her no matter how often she apologized. And he would have rouse himself from his lax position to lend Kagome a hand, he did after all like the girl well enough, and he knew if anything happened to her Shinobu would have his head, however…
InuYasha…
The name of the half-demon rang like alarm bells in his head, InuYasha was a harsh, crude, powerful half-demon who patrolled the borders of his brother Sesshomaru's land in the Makai. He was ruthless and it was said that he could kill a hundred demons with a single swing of his blade. Indeed there where a great many stories pertaining to the half-demon, however not a single one said anything about how whiny and childish he could be.
He broke from his thoughts when Kagome finally snapped and screamed back ending her tirade by shrieking sit like she was speaking to a common house pet rather then one of the fiercest demons in the Makai, regardless he hit the ground like a ton of bricks.
The result to say the least was entertaining.
He could tell the argument was about to begin anew when he heard the back door open, his current entertainment must have also heard the same for soon after there was a cry of Shinobu.
But there was something wrong, very wrong with Shinobu. Itsuki had seen the night before as Kagome poured her energies into the detective, had seen her energy weave the fragile pieces of his sanity into a vague semblance of what it had once been. But Itsuki knew, he knew it wouldn't take much to obliterate what good she had done.
He could only hope Shinobu could stay intact long enough to heal himself.
