"I don't want to! It's yucky!" the child stated, turning away from Michiru who just sighed.
"A little help here Haruka?" the mermaid like girl stated, earning a nonchalant shrug from the blonde who was seated at the coffee table, doing homework.
"Hey, the kid's right. That stuff does taste like shit." She retorted, earning scowl from Michiru thought the little girl only laughed.
"You are not helping Haruka!" Michiru grumbled, earning a cheeky grin.
"If you want me to help then I don't want to hear you griping if I follow through." I laughed as I walked over and whispered to our 'daughter'
"I you take your medicine I'll give you my desert for the next week."
I knew that this was true since I had promised to stay until Hotaru was well.
"I guess I could." She grumbled, pouting as she glared over at Michiru.
"Let's hope your face doesn't freeze like that." Michiru teased, giving her the medicine then handing her a bottle of juice.
"Why don't you two trouble makers go play while I make lunch? Haruka said you didn't eat much Hotaru." My girlfriend added.
"Eating hurts my throat." Hotaru admitted, though Michiru only sighed.
"How about I make some soup then? That'll be easy on your throat." She suggested.
"She'll eat. Just fix whatever will be easiest on her throat. I'll take her to play." I assured, lifting Hotaru onto my shoulders.
"Fine but try not to break anything!" she stated, grinning.
I jogged up to Hotaru's room, setting her on her feet before asking "so what do you want to do squirt?"
I ended up playing some form of pretend game, though I honestly cared more about getting her to laugh and have fun than I did at how silly I looked.
When Michiru came in to collect us she caught me wearing a badly made paper crown and a blanket for a cape.
"Oh my….why don't you two put all this away and come down and eat?" she stated, trying to hold back a giggle.
"Sure…then you can join us." I retorted, standing up and removing my 'costume'.
"Yeah Mama!" Hotaru exclaimed, obviously feeling a bit better.
"Alright, but only if you two come eat before it gets cold."
