The clearing was empty.

He could feel nothing.

Hear nothing.

That last one was disquieting to Itsuki, such a forested area should never be so muted.

Unless there's a predator around.

His eyes landed on Shinobu who was quite a ways away.

Then again…

His silent companion finally stopped after what seemed to be hours of just aimless walking. He seemed agitated and became increasingly so as the clearing he'd wondered into remained still, finally when after several minutes of nothing happening Shinobu began gathering power… a lot of power.

And shoved it into the ground, a strange move that surprised Itsuki even more when rather than scarring the land with the blast something began lapping the power up. That's something slowly took the form of a wispy woman one that had him stumbling back in astonishment.

After all it had only been mid morning, only several hours prior, when they had left a still very alive Kagome.

And now!

Kagome…!

"I've done all I could Shinobu… and you… you've made your choice… why come here?"

"Because you're going to answer a few things for me."

"Oh? And what would they be?"

Despite her appearance, despite the familiar power he could feel rolling off of her, her personality wasn't right she seemed more somber, calm, collect, too in control.

A false Kagome?

No too alike.

But too different.

"You are going to tell me what I'm going to do. What I am fated to do."
