A/N: In which they say love is blind.

They didn't need vision to see what was before them. Their respective soul-mate, be it him or her, was strewn out across their shared bed in the light of the midnight moon.

Erza knew of every contour and crevice of his body, knew of every imperfection and every ridge of calloused skin. She could trace out the exact pattern of his birthmark, without so much as straying off-course. She could love him, soothe him, and humour him without being able to see what was literally in front of her.

Jellal was the same, not needing to see his beloved Scarlet to be able to love her with everything he had in him. His soul, mind, and heart all belonged to the woman he married. They shared hardships, they shared victories, but the most obvious? They shared a common blindness.

It was not ignorance, and it was not them being oblivious to the horrors of the world around them. If anything, Jellal Fernandes and Erza Scarlet-Fernandes knew of the terrors of the world they lived in better than any of their comrades or family members. They knew it better than their children, than their godchildren. But never more than each other, for they balanced one another out. Together, they were equilibrium. They were hope, love, and the epitome of sacrifice. Their love, a tainted story of sacrifice and survival rather than a fairy tale, was infinite and strong. Bred upon a common torture, a common suffering, there was nothing that could make either of them give up the other.

Jellal reached out and touched her cheek, gently caressing the smooth, ivory skin. A smile touched his lips, one she couldn't see but knew was there. She always knew.

"What're you smiling about?" Her words were a ghost of a whisper, but nonetheless he could hear the adoration and amusement. As always.

"You're my perfection," he murmured quietly, pulling her into his arms and kissing her sweetly. "My redemption in a world unseen."

She laughed, a tinkling sound that embodied all the wonderment the world had to offer. "As you are mine, Jellal. We've come so far since the day you gave me my last name, haven't we?"

"We have," he agreed, thinking of all the heartache he'd put her through. If there was anything, to this day, that he regretted, it would be causing her suffering. "We've fought wars, demons, our pasts…each other."

She was quick to intervene. "And we emerged victorious. And our love remains the strongest flame I've ever seen, our children the product of such unconditional trust."

"They are our everything," he chuckled, thinking of their mischievous, albeit strong-willed and kind, twins. Simon and Yuki were their pride of joys. "We have found our heaven together, my Scarlet. Without being able to see."

"I can see perfectly fine," she whispered to him, kissing his lips softly. "I can see your face, smiling down at me like always. I can see our children, running about and being free. I can see love, trust, and I can see our family. Never once did I stop seeing, because sight is not a necessity. Clarity? Clarity is intangible. And you are my clarity, Jellal, never forget it."

And he promised he wouldn't.
