"Haruka? Why is the rug in the bathroom sopping wet?" Michiru asked me when she got home, causing me to blush.
"That's kind of my fault….I started a water fight with Hotaru." I admitted, causing her to laugh.
"Seems like you two had quite the day." She retorted, kissing me on the cheek before adding "while you were sleeping your mother called….Saying something about you better do the homework packets they sent you."
I blushed at that and groaned.
"Great…My mom is a frickin' pain in the butt!"
Michiru gave me an amused look before saying
"Hey, your mom just looks out for you. Mine on the other hand could care less if I missed school or not…..as long as I don't dishonor the family name." She retorted, bitterness cracking her voice.
"Hey…Screw them. Okay? I'm amazed that you lived here all alone...to be honest I would probably die of loneliness." I stated, causing her to smile.
"Is that why you always looked so sad?" she asked, taking my hands into hers.
"I guess….I wasn't even aware that I did." I replied and she smiled.
"Well you don't have to be lonely anymore. You have me….and then at home you have Hotaru, me and Setsuna." Michiru stated, catching me off guard with a kiss which caused me to fall back against the sink.
I felt my face grow red as she giggled softly.
"you are so shy." She teased.
"S…shut up!" I found myself stammering though she just laughed some more though she only just kissed my cheek before backing off.
"you act so confident at school." She pointed out and I sighed.
"Sorry if you think I should be." I mumbled, though she took my hand.
"Haruka….I like you better this way….the real you."
I felt the heat get worse in my face and I glanced down.
"Maybe we could drop Hotaru off with Mom next week and then go catch a movie? Though Mom will probably spoil her by the time we get back." I suggested, causing her to laugh.
"Oh as if we wont." Michiru stated grinning as she glanced into the living room where Hotaru was still sleeping in our fort.
"Being with Setsuna taught me that there's more ways to get through to people without yelling. If you sit and talk to a kid you can get more out of 'em. Plus you have to deal with less crying." I admitted, adding after a few minutes "I swear if I ever made her cry I'd probably feel like horse shit."
