She was a catalyst for change fates bindings severed by the gods themselves to fight an evil equally as un-fated as she herself was, her tender heart the only thing keeping her from doing as Naraku had.
The un-fated were a dangerous lot after all, potential God killers if they felt so inclined.
And Naraku, a being unchained by King Enma in attempt to prove to his godly brethren that humans and demons could not coexist, had most definitely felt inclined, effectively destroying Miyatsu , Miroku's grandfather who had been the first in his line to bear the wind tunnel, the very man King Enma had created to destroy the vile half demon. Things had quickly spiraled out of control from there.
So she had played her part, her mere presence giving her group that edge it needed to change their own fates and dispose of Naraku.
That had been five hundred years ago, and for much of that time she had been a bitter being who long for that final embrace one final breath… and then peace at last.
But when she had seen that boy, the young Shinobu, she had felt sorrow at his life and had tempted to weave his fate in a different pattern. Something more delicate. But he had plucked and plucked ruining what she had gifted him with until it was just as deranged and sordid as it was when she had started.
And now…
After all these years you were right.
…Shinobu…
I will live. I want to live.
If only to fight you when the time comes.
If the time comes…
…But maybe…
…Hopefully…
To love you…
I really enjoyed this chapter, it is probably my favorite chapter thus far.
Any way I kinda just wanted to explain a little about why King Enma hates Kagome so much, he fears her because of her lack of fate.
EDIT: Ff. net keeps deleting the line between the story and the A/N XP
