70. Chapter 70

Nodoka wasn't surprised to find Shinobu already at her daughter's bedside by the time she had sent her son off to school and had gotten grandpa settled into his daily routine.

He was always there.

And always left when any of them entered.

But she would not allow him to leave this time, she wanted to speak with him about his sudden withdraw from them, not that he had ever been particularly talkative to anyone other than her daughter, but until a about a month ago he had been absent even from Kagome's life, returning only in time to hear Kagome's departing words of love. She was worried about him, something was wrong and for all he had done for her daughter, she felt it only right to return the favor.

He stood and she refused to move.
