Chapter 31

It had been a few weeks and Sam had managed to convince some of the younger wolves' parents that they should drop out of the local high school and join Ruthie and me in being home schooled. Which although I knew was in their best interests, meant I ended up with less time with her. It was still just us for breakfast, but that only lasted until the others arrived, which was normally about half an hour after me, once they learnt that there was food. I stayed until long after dinner when the rota and her dad allowed.

I could tell that the pack of boisterous teenage boys that took over the living room was starting to take its toll on Ruthie. At the start of the day she would sit and follow the conversations and occasionally interject through Allison, then by the end of the day she would seem drained, sitting staring into space, only to brighten up once they left.

I begged Allison to teach us sign language so we didn't have to leave her out, but she said that it was better if Ruthie didn't get too used to not having to talk and that she would get there, just to be patient. She told me how long it took Ruthie to talk to her and Sam, which made me feel a bit better.

I went home knowing that some day she would talk to me, hopefully sooner rather than later. I logged on to the laptop the the Cullen's gave me after learning how bad my computer was, and checked Ruthie's blog. There were three new entries, one distracted post about the gallery opening next week, an entry about her dad catching us asleep on the sofa and an entry about the pack being at her house everyday.

"You guys already know about Embry joining Allison and me for schooling but we now have some new additions to the growing classroom.

Our role call now includes, Seth and Collin who are both my age, Seth is the sweetest, kindest, well mannered boy and Collin is completely infatuated with Sam's ex Leah. As well as Brady who is a year younger, and is very much the baby of the group.

They are all lovely, just very loud! I'll keep you updated.

Love Ruthie xoxo."

I was glad she seemed to be getting along with my pack.

I was surprised when I checked the clock to find that it had only taken fifteen minutes to read, what would have taken at least half an hour in the past. I smiled to myself as I turned off the computer and the lights and went to sleep.

A/N- Hey guys (if you're still here?) I'm back. Sorry about waiting so long to update, but I had completely forgotten about this, I've started and finished uni in this time, but I really want to finish this story. I'll update again tomorrow.
