So, I decided that I never did some Crossover Quickshots for the regular Naruto universe so…I'll be doing a few of those, some in universe or AUs. We'll see how it goes to be honest since I just started getting ideas and I would like to play with a few of them.

Disclaimer: I do not own any animes used within this work of fiction.

D. Grey Man: Language Problems

Hyuga Hinata was still at ends with the customs of England's Black Order Branch. She didn't know how to act and react to certain things that would always make her look like a fool. And the last thing she wanted was to look more foolish in front of her new team members. It was bad enough that she was unable to beat any of her friends in a fight; but their fighting styles were so odd, even when she took into consideration that they had different weapons. She had tried to get Allen to teach her how he fought, since their innocence weapon was nearly similar; but he lacked the attention span to just spar with her for a good couple of hours.

But, it wasn't just that. Just the way they were. They were all rather loud. Not that she minded, but she was born and raised in Japan for sixteen years and it was quiet, nearly silent in comparison to the Black Order headquarters, let alone England. And they all wore shoes inside their rooms. And they sat down and ate instead of kneeling. Not to mention that they were all very picky eaters. She would be so confused when people would ask for something to eat in the cafeteria, and then ask that certain things be removed and other items added. Why order it in the first place? The worst part was that the smell was different from where she lived. The place didn't smell…as nice as it did in Japan.

She was homesick sometimes.

And…Hinata just didn't enjoy speaking the English language.

She was really homesick; even staying with General Cross would have been better.

"Hey Hinata," Lenalee smiled brightly as she jogged up to catch up to the girl that was walking towards her room to get in some meditation.

Hinata looked back to the girl with long pigtails and smiled lightly as she saw all the books that she carried in her arms. Hinata was lucky to have friends like Lenalee, who kind of understood her pain, since Lenalee was Chinese. "Hello," she said with a light bow and the other girl bowed back.

"I found some more stories for you about England lore," she said as she began to hand her the books in her arms. Hinata carefully held onto them. "How are you settling in? I hope that map my brother gave you was worth something."

"Yes," Hinata nodded as she thought back to the paper she had left in her room. "It's a map that was made well." She said with a blush as she heard herself talk. She was never sure how to get it right. Lenalee only laughed lightly. The two continued to walk down the same path; they lived right beside one another and Hinata would happily invite Lenalee over for tea.

Hinata was happy that got a room style that reminded her of home; they even put up sliding paper doors for her. Hinata also had a deep love for her new uniform that made it so much easier to either run or defend herself.

When Hinata first came to the Black Order with a note from General Cross about how he had sent her there and a rather large bill that Hinata was able to help pay off, she was dressed in ripped jeans, and old white t-shirt and a baggy hoodie that she had found at a clothes drive. Her hair was greasy and her skin was covered in dirt, sweat, and bruises. Her trip was not a fun one. But, Komui welcomed her with open arms, a hot shower, clothes, and a place to call home. Hinata did love the uniform the most. It was so crisp in clean. Black with red accents and metal work that marked her as an Exorcist. Everyone had custom uniforms to fit their personality and fighting style. Hinata wore pants, but also knee-high combat boots that came over the pants. Her sleeves were widened a bit and came down to her ginger tips. She also wore a pair of sleek black sunglasses to hide her eyes and black gloves for her hands.

Those were Hinata's innocent weapons. She was told that she was a rare sight, since most exorcist only had one naturally. When it came to General Cross, he used another Exorcist, Maria, to fight with along with his pistol weapon. Hinata was told by Hevlaska, the holding exorcist she met on her first day there that her innocent had synced with her eyes and was embedded into her hands. It gave her the ability to see innocence in other people and things. She saw Akumas in their full form and, what she recently learned, she could see the Clan of Noah members. Her hands as a weapon meant that Hinata had to master forms of close combat so that she could get close enough. There was also a technique she had been trying to learn; it was a way to turn herself into long range. She was able to shoot physical forms of energy that she either absorbed from other things, or from within herself. And it was very hard and painful if she used her own energy. She was told to not try it anymore, but it was her chance to be stronger and at a distance.

"Would you like tea to drink?" Hinata asked as they came up to their rooms.

"I was thinking that we could hang out with the others in the cafeteria," she suggested as Hinata slid open her door and began to undo her shoes before entering. "Come on Hinata," Lenalee said with a giggle. "Can't you just walk in, set the books down, and come back out."

"No," Hinata said as she shook her head and took off both boots. "That would be rude."

"What?"

"Japanese culture is different Lee," Yu Kanda said as he walked up to the two and stood with his arms crossed and his katana, Mugen, on his back. "We eat close to the floor, sit on the floor, and we sleep there," he explained as Hinata smiled and nodded to agree. He held back the need to blush as Hinata went about her business as they both waited outside. "Keeping it clean is just respectful to us and other's we have over."

"That makes sense," Lenalee said with a nod as she put her hands on her hips. "I should start doing that again; I can't forget where I came from."

"Yes," Hinata said as she came back out, slid the door closed, and began to put her boots back on. "No one should forget the place they were born." Hinata bowed to Kanda, who gave the same bow back. "We are headed to the cafeteria to eat and sit with Allen-san and Lavi-san. Would you like to walk with us there?" She asked lightly as Kanda merely glanced at her and nodded.

They two got along rather well, even though they were the farthest from similar. Hinata was sweet, caring, and loved to be around others. Kanda was mean, cold, and enjoyed being alone…unless the Hyuga was there. It was pretty obvious that Yu Kanda had the biggest crush on Hyuga Hinata. It was nearly like a bad romance movie. The worse part about it was how bad that Kanda was expressing his feelings, which Lenalee was sure that he was avoiding ever telling Hinata that he liked her, and Hinata was so humble that she only thought Kanda was just being nice to her since they were both Japanese. Hinata walked a bit ahead of the group, trying to take a look around since she liked how tall the building was.

"So…what will you tell her today?" She teased and Kanda frowned and rolled his eyes. "How good she is at fighting? Maybe how her last mission wasn't so bad? Or will you sit in silence next to her and hope that she can just get a hint?"

"Don't you have someone else to pester about this nonsense with?" He shot back with a glare. "I don't have time for your silly lies and gossip."

"Alright then," she shrugged and walked a bit ahead of him. "I mean…I only wanted to say that you are missing the best way to get her attention." She sighed and looked back to see that he was staring at her. She knew that he wanted her to continue with what she was saying, but there was the part of him that refused to admit that she was right about his feelings and that he wanted her help. "But…you're right. I just wanted to gossip about my lies." She was about to follow after Hinata, but she felt a hand grab her shoulder and hold her back.

"Say anything to the Beansprout and the Bookman and I will cut you down." He said quietly with a glare as he let her go.

"Come on Kanda," she crossed her arms over her chest and smirked. "You're both Japanese. You come from the same place, customs, cultures, maybe you two have something in common that you can at least talk to her like a normal human being." Lenalee then walked off, not bothering to see if followed or not. She caught up with Hinata, who was about to walk into the cafeteria. "You nearly left me in the dust."

"I thought you and Yu-san were in a serious and private conversation," she said as she held the door open for Lenalee and they both walked over to a table where Allen was already eating through another two plates and Lavi was snacking. "Good evening friends," Hinata bowed to them and then sat down. "How are you?"

"I'm bored," Lavi groaned as he hunched forward and groaned. "I want to go somewhere. Have some fun!"

"You gotta try this cake Hinata," Allen said as he pushed over a piece to her. "Lenalee told me you like sweets."

"Thank you kindly," she gave a light bow and then looked around for some sort of silverware to eat with. "Uh…"

"Just pick it up." Lavi smiled as he began to pick at Allen's fries to his second burger.

"That will dirty my gloves," she shook her head but then she heard a lite tap of a tray hit the table. They all looked over to see Kanda sit down with the tray covered in a clay tea pot and cups. He also set down a plate of dangos in the center and a fork for Hinata. "Ooo," she mused lightly, "May I take one?" She asked looking up to Kanda. He nodded and she smiled while pushing away the cake and quickly going for a dango. "It has been very long since I had consumed a dessert like this." she blushed lightly as she ate one of the sweet dough balls.

"When did you get all fancy Kanda?" Allen asked as he picked up a skewer and sniffed the treat. Lenalee tried to hide her smile and the 'told you so' that bubbled in her throat.

"Just eat the damn thing Bean Sprout," he said calmly as he poured everyone a glass, being sure that he did Hinata's to the best of his knowledge; he was a bit rusty on the technique of it all.

"I am nothing like a Bean Sprout!" Allen said back with a glare.

"I know, a bean sprout has a higher I.Q. than you." Kanda said back in his native language and jumped when he heard Hinata snort and nearly spit out her tea.

"What the hell did you say to me?"

"That the food I eat is smarter than you, bean sprout." Kanda said again and Hinata was trying not to burst into a fit of giggles.

"What is he saying Hinata?" Lavi asked with a smile. "You're from Japan too, right?"

Hinata looked to him and then looked over to Kanda, who only glanced at her and then went back to eating his own dango. "Uh…Yu-san said just drink your tea." The two boys were suspicious but would not push the girl or accuse her of lying to them. "That was rather cruel Yu-san." She said back to him and then took a drink of tea.

"I thought it would be nice to give him a break from my insults. At least he can't know that I'm insulting him now," he said with a shrug and Hinata only shook her head. "And now," Kanda's voice slightly dropped in volume and in pitch, "Neither of them can listen to the adults talk." He said to her with a light smile.

"Just…don't be so mean," she said with a light smile and blush.

"Oh that's just perfect," Lavi said with a smile and dramatic sigh. "Now those two will be making fun of us behind our backs."

"Or in front of your face."

Hinata giggled lightly as Kanda smiled lightly and tried to hide the blush on his cheeks. He glanced over to Lenalee, who only smiled at him and went back to drinking her tea. He would have to thank her later for the good idea.

(Line Break)

Hinata panted loudly and as quietly as she could with her eyes wide eyes in fear. She was hidden behind a dumpster with her broken arm held to her chest. She peeked around the corner and watched as the akuma walked passed the entrance of the alley and continued to stalk. She was lucky that it was night out since she was afraid of any humans getting hurt. She pressed her back against the dumpster and closed her eyes as she tried to clear her head. Hinata wasn't sure if anyone was in the area.

"Okay…" she took in a deep breath. "I can do this," she patted her chest pocket to be sure that she still had her glasses. She wouldn't want to have to go around without them one.

Her pupil-less lavender eyes scanned 360 degrees around her position. Hinata spotted the akuma dragging its way on the streets and two innocence hiding behind a car. By the positions of the innocence, she guessed it was Allen and Lenalee. They looked pretty beat up too. Hinata opened up her jacket and used some bandages she carried to make herself a sling. She zipped back up and ran out into the streets and watched as the dark energy inside the akuma rage about.

Hinata lifted up her hand with an open palm. "Akuma!" She yelled and it swung around and looked right at her. It drooled and smiled wickedly as it began to charge at her. Allen and Lenalee tried to come out and help, but Hinata was already the target. She waited as the innocence built up in her palm and when it was close.

She shot it right in the face.

They both flew back. Hinata hit the side of a building, and the akuma died out before it hit anything. She sat up and smiled; that was the first time she ever killed one by herself. Hinata closed her eyes as the other two ran over to her but she just allowed herself to lull to sleep.

"That was awesome!" Allen said with a pained but filling smile on his face. "I've seen her practice it a few times, but this one was way better."

"Come on," Lenalee said as she and Allen lifted Hinata up so one of her arm went over their shoulders. "We have to get back…or Komui is going to send out a search party." And she knew who would be the first person to volunteer for that job.

She had to try not to smile too hard as the two tried to get Hinata to a nearby hospital for the night so they could leave in the morning. She knew that if Allen caught on, Kanda would kill her.

It had been about a month since the two began to slowly become closer friends. They were both on a first name basis and it seemed that Hinata began to stare at Kanda as he walked away. Lenalee caught it faster than Kanda did; Hinata began to like him as much as he liked her. She wished that they both would just tell each other since it was painful to watch them.

"L-Lena…" Hinata said lightly still in a state of sleep. "M-My…arm…" her head lulled to the side as she groaned.

"We'll get you to the hospital Hinata," Lenalee said with a light smile. "Just hang in there."

"Wh-What about A-Allen?"

"I'm okay too Hinata," he said with a laugh as she smiled and her head fell forward again and she was out again.

Then next time Hinata woke up, she opened up her eyes to see that the light was blocked. She waited for her eyes to adjust to see that they were wrapped with bandages. By the smell, she could guess she was in a hospital and they must have assumed she was blind. She moved around and felt the cast on her forearm and the warm of wool sheets. She slowly sat up and listened as the door opened. "Well hello," a female said lightly and Hinata listened to hear walk around and move items. "Glad to see you're okay."

"Thank you," Hinata said as she lifted her head and moved so that she could hear her. "Are my friends near?"

"They're sleeping in the waiting room. So…they told me what happened." The woman said as she walked up to her and began to check her heart rate and breathing. "You know, a blind woman should not looking for a fight in this town."

"It was a mean person," Hinata said in her defense.

"Just leave that fighting to the police. I don't want to see you back in here," she laughed lightly. "I'm going to bring in a nurse to help you get re-dressed and then you can head off back home with your friends." Hinata nodded and the second the woman left, She took off the bandages and changed as quickly as she could. Hinata put her glasses back on and snuck out. She shoved her gloves into one of her pockets and went back out to look for Allen and Lenalee.

Hinata just really wanted to go home.

(Line Break)

"So," Kanda said as he was kneeled across from the Hyuga, who was looking down at the tea he just poured for her. "Those two let you go up against an akuma, alone?"

"I faced him without much trouble." she said with a pout as she took a drink and sighed. "You are getting better that this."

"I was always good at it." He shot back with a smile and Hinata only giggled lightly. "Why do you keep wearing your glasses?"

Hinata blushed and touched her glasses. She was happy to get out of her cast fast since her arms were filled with the innocence; it was mostly in her hands, but it traveled like normal. She pushed them up a little higher and looked away. "I like them."

"You look like an idiot." He said with a sigh and then drank his own tea. "Take them off."

"No." she said with a frown and blush. Kanda cocked a brow at her and put down his cup. Hinata blushed as his dark colored eyes stared her down. She felt herself tense as she was forced to look at him and his handsome face. Hinata almost felt like a dumb school girl when she was around Kanda. He was so cool and calm…and Hinata was a blushing mess.

"Now." He said quietly with a stern voice.

Hinata sighed and then took off her glasses and set them on the table. She glanced up at him and blushed when he looked her right in the eye. That was a first. No one ever looked her in the eyes since she looked blinded and they thought it was rude. She held her head up and smiled lightly. "Well?"

"You…You have beautiful eyes." Kanda said with a soft smile and Hinata felt her face turn a bright red as she looked back down at her lap.

"Thanks," her voice cracked and squeaked. Kanda could only laugh lightly and drank more. She glanced back up at him and lightly used her finger to trace the top of the glass. She bit her lip lightly as she thought over the crazy idea that she had in her mind. How in the world was she going to ask and even pull it off? "Would…" she asked lightly, "Would you like to…go out…and do something…together…?"

Kanda spat out his tea and looked at her with wide eyes. Hinata covered her mouth to keep from laughing at the dumb look on his face. He was wide eyed with tea and spit dripping down his chin. "What!?" He yelled.

Hinata turned dark red as she shook her head. "N-Nothing," she said as she looked down at her lap. "What I asked was stupid!"

"No," he said quickly with panic in his eyes. Hinata looked up at him. "I…We should do something….together."

Hinata smiled brightly and nodded happily. "Gr-Great!" She stood, grabbed her glasses, and went over to the door and slid it open. "I…I have never seen England fully." Kanda nodded and the two put their shoes on headed out to the front doors. "Thank you…Kanda-kun."

Kanda blushed and smiled at her. "You make me very happy Hinata-chan."

"You also make me very happy Kanda-kun."

Hinata slowly took his hand and looked on ahead as he looked at her and their intertwined hands. He only coughed lightly and pulled her a bit closer to his side. She only giggled lightly and they quickly made their way out before anyone could see.

"Hinata?"

"Yes?"

"I'm really glad that we both speak Japanese."

"Me too," she said with a giggle.

"I wish I had been the one to ask you out though." He admitted. Hinata only blushed lightly and walked with a bounce in her step. It was nice that she was a little braver; maybe finally taking on that akuma gave her some self-confidence she needed. "At least," he smirked lightly, "I can say this." Hinata looked up at him and blushed at the sultry look in his eyes. "We should spar…so I can get my hands on you."

"Pervert!" Hinata yelled with a red blush as they were about to walk out the exit doors.

"That strong voice of yours would also come in handy." He chuckled as Hinata was a bright red as they made their exit.

And it went on for the next month like that. Some days Kanda would be on his good behavior, and other days, when she was surrounded by people he would pull his teasing and sexual sayings and with amusement in his eyes as she tried to tell everyone that he wasn't saying things like that. It made her enjoy and dislike their alone time all at once. Just like she was now.

"I wish you would wear…something different." Kanda said with a sigh as he followed her back to her room. It was their usual tea time. "More leg."

"This is very unlike you," she said with a blush on her cheeks as she slid open the door and began to take off her shoes. "I never pegged you for a pervert."

"I am not a pervert. I just enjoy your company." He said as he took off his shoes and was about to follow her into her room, but he was stopped by an arm. He looked over and frowned when he saw it was Cross. Kanda didn't like the man, and he disliked him more when he found out that Hinata nearly spent a whole year with the man. He was a pervert; and Kanda did not like to think about all the horrible things Cross might have tried to do. He growled when Cross looked to him with a smirk. "The hell do you want?"

"What?" General Cross said with a fake innocent smile as he moved and crossed his arms over his chest. "I can't come and see my favorite little exorcist?" He took off his shoes and walked in past him and kneeled at the head of Hinata's little table. "How have you been Hinata? I hope the Order is treating you well."

"Indeed so-"

"Kick this filthy man out of your room before I do it for you." Kanda commanded with a glare as he kneeled opposite from Cross.

"Be nice," she said to him and glanced to Cross, who seemed to be bored of the two. "He took me in and took care of me."

"And then left you with a debt and sent you off alone."

"He kept me safe from the Akuma."

"I'll keep you safe from now on." He said as he crossed his arms and pouted. "So you don't need him. You paid your debt to him and now you can kick him to the curb." Hinata blushed lightly and glanced over to Cross and then went to working on making the tea. "After this tea…you don't have to put up with him anymore."

"Maybe," she said lightly as she left the water to heat up. "He doesn't come to visit often anyway."

Kanda smirked lightly and glanced to Cross, who was looking around the room. "You make such a lovely housewife Hinata. I will be sure to get you a proper wedding ring."

"You are ridiculous." Hinata laughed lightly as she set the table and put out some cookies that she had gotten on her last mission.

"And our honeymoon will be glorious fun." He said with a straight face as Hinata flushed red. "We could start a family that night."

"St-Stop," she said lightly with frown and blush.

"Maybe we could make a family tonight? After your annoying friend takes his leave."

"And here I thought that you were a straightedge Yuu-san?" They stopped and had the most panicked looks on their faces as they looked over to a smirking Cross. "But you're a big pervert."

"You…You know…?" Hinata asked with shock and the look of horror on her face

"We did stay in Japan rather long Hinata. I had to learn something so I would be able to find the bar and brothel." He said as he looked over to her water pot. "You are going to burn the water for the tea Hinata. You used to be rather good at this." He laughed as the two went silent and he was left in an awkward silence. "What happened to all the fun flirting?"

"I hate you." Kanda said with a glare.

"Hey…you don't want your secrete pervert comments to get out, right?" Cross said teasingly as Hinata poured the tea for them both. "Oh…this has been a good visit."

"You are mean General Cross." Hinata said lightly as she kneeled down. "But thank you for making him stop."

Kanda drank his tea and just tried to hide his smirk. He couldn't wait for Cross to leave.

He'd get his vengeance then.

Black Butler: The New Heiress In Town

Hyuga Hinata.

She read the tag over on her luggage that was placed above her head. It was written in the English language and she didn't like it. She didn't like the language, it was hard and the rules didn't make any sense. There was also the fact that she had to, now, live within the wretched country. Traveling across the continent to get to England. She had already gone over the water and now she was on a train and headed to the country's capital. She was sent to attend school there and make allies with other children of nobles. But she would stick out like a sore thumb when she in school.

It was bad enough that she was in her elegant red, yellow, and orange kimono with the dragons on it. And her servant was in a dark blue yukata. They both looked odd enough as it was. Hinata had long midnight blue hair and lavender colored eyes while her servant had spikey grey hair and a red and black colored eye. He also wore a surgical mask that covered the bottom half of his face.

Her father was a great business man and used his daughter to gain allies through her 'friendships', just long enough so that he can get the contract signed; then it didn't matter. But no…that was not why Hinata was sent off to another country.

Hiashi was a strong, smart, and a true leader. But even a true leader held to the sense of fear of being…overpowered. And Hyuga Hiashi felt a huge threat from his twelve year old daughter…and her oddly perfect butler. The one that she had one day hired out of the 'goodness' of her heart. A man she had met on the streets and offered the poor man pay for his services; her story was that he was once a butler who lost his job when his last master died of illness.

And who would think that the young, sweet, weak hearted heiress would lie?

Hyuga Hinata was far more than all her family, allies, and friends thought of her.

"Hyuga-sama," Hinata looked over and smiled lightly when her butler stood at the door of her cabin with a tray of food and drink for her. "I do apologies for my lateness, but the kitchens were set on serving these other people and made it difficult for me to prepare you something." He said calmly as he set it on the small table in front of her. "Are you well?" He spoke in perfect English, and also taught Hinata how to speak, read, and write the language before she was shipped off.

"I am fine," she said with a light blush as she sat forward a bit and looked over her hot stew, bread roll, and hot tea. She glanced back and looked away in embarrassment when her butler quirked his brow at her and she could see the smirk under his mask. "I can make it the rest of the way."

"I will find you a better seat," he said with a bow before leaving her alone in the booth again. She huffed lightly but ignored her lack of comfort as she went to eat since it looked rather good. Hinata was not much of a fan of English cuisine, but there was the fact that she was starving at the moment. He came back and Hinata stood as he slipped the cushioned under her and she sat back down. "How is it?"

"I like it," she said lightly. "Can you please learn to make this?" Hinata asked as she looked over at him.

He chuckled, "Of course, Hyuga-sama." He sat back and closed his eyes as Hinata continued to eat. He just sat and waited for another order or rather, request since the girl was far to kind to ever demand out of him. Not that he has never gotten a demand before. Those days were his favorite days when she was on a rampage and no one was safe from her wrath, seeing it first hand was a treat. The way his Lady would work to gain what she needed was like a dance on stage; a great show.

"How long until we arrive to the station?" Hinata asked after wiping her mouth and placing her napkin back on her lap.

"It seems we will be another hour," he said lightly as he took out his pocket watch to check the time again. "Then we will be taken to your new home." He placed his hands on his lap as Hinata finished eating and sat up against him. "Shall you rest now?"

"I shall," she said with a light smile as she leaned her head against him and closed her eyes. "Wake me when we are there, please." She said lightly with a yawn.

The butler only nodded and decided to stare out the window as the scene of England's country side. There was something about the silence and her soft breathing that reminded him about when they first met. When he was first hired by a crying heiress who was only ten. He glanced down at her and his one red eye grew a little brighter as his other eye turned fully black, no white to be seen. He had taken on such a form by her request and fully enjoyed it. He had never been able to get close to so many humans. He found them interesting, and especially Hyuga Hinata.

Two year back is when Hinata had first encountered the notorious Copy Cat Oni of Konohagakure's Forest.

It was just after lunch for her, she was again unable to eat due to being scolded by her family's council and her father for being unable to reach their standards of perfection. She was in tears when they had finally made the decision to see if her younger sister would make a better heir than she. Hinata feared what was to become of her if that happened; she could be married off by thirteen if the council just wanted her out of the way and to the highest bidder. She had run off in hopes to just take a moment to collect herself. Hinata was only ten, but she was raised to be a leader. She needed to plan.

She was unfortunately traveling upon the wrong path. She had heard the stories about the Oni that was rumored to live there. Hinata thought that it was just a legend told to keep kids from running into the forest. That was until she heard a voice. It was the voice of her late mother, who had died while giving birth to Hanabi Hyuga. Hinata stopped and listened as her mother's sweet and melodic voice sang the lullaby Hinata loved. It was a trick, a trick that worked very well.

The Oni approached the girl who was just waiting in the middle of the dirt path, looking right at it with wide eyes. The Oni smiled wide, a large sharp toothed smile. Its skin was a dark grey and one eye as black as the shadows and the other a dark red with a black pupil. Its horns were red and pointed back. It wore a large and elegant green kimono with a blue obi. The Oni extended its clawed hands and lightly stroked her cheek. It cooed at her as she blushed a pretty pink. The Oni could see it, the broken soul of a little heiress. It was the things it lived for. To help heal…and then take something so delightful. It had done it before, for the new eye it carried. Long ago, a young man, Obito, had begged it to make a woman fall in love with him and marry him. And the Oni complied and took one of the boys to replace one it had lost to a fight with a human monk. It watched as the young man loved and married his pretty red haired bride…and then it tore it all away as it granted a warlord the power to take over the village the man and his bride lived in. In return, it took the warlord's face to use to trick other humans.

Hinata starred at it with wide eyes. She knew the legend…the stories, and she knew that if she did not deal it would never let her leave alive.

"Tell me…sweet daughter of the sun," It cooed and continued to gently caress her lovingly. Something she had never really experienced in a long time. "What can I do to heal such a broken spirit?" She shook her head with fear as he gracefully picked her up and held her like a small child. "Do not be so shy, tell me what you desire most." It continued to be kind and sweet to her in hopes of getting her to do something. It would not allow such a soul, a face, to get away from him. Child, adolescence, adult, or elder, she had the face of something kind, beautiful, sweet, and innocent. The humans it could lure with that face were endless…and her soul would satisfy him for centuries. Again, Hinata was too filled with fear to say anything or at least think of a proper response. The Oni began to grow tired of this, but it held it in; it was far more patient for little kids. "Oh my sweet little daughter of the sun, do you not want to be what you were born to be?" It asked, smirking at her stunned reaction. "A leader of her family's business?"

"You…You can do that?" She asked lightly as she looked up at him with wide eyes.

He could taste her innocence.

"And more." It kneeled down and held her closer like she was it's child. "Just make your request."

Hinata thought for a while and then looked right up at him with wide eyes. "I want to stay the Heiress and become the Leader of my family and their business. I want to become of age and marry someone who loves me and have a proper heir to my family." She then became very stern with a blush on her cheeks. "And you will help me by being my butler."

It couldn't help but laugh. Oh, how clever this little human had been able to prolong herself and assure that it would assure her successes by tying it to her. A servant to her; to do as she commanded and it would have to or break the deal and it would lose what it wanted.

"Clever. And will the little daughter of the sun want to hear of what she will pay in return?"

"No," she shook her head much to it's surprise. "The rest does not matter. I will have what I want and you will get what you want." She was more relaxed and it could see that she was far steelier than her appearance let on. She was something that it knew it would enjoy this new life. Hinata leaned against him and closed her eyes. "Do we have a deal?"

"Just tell me where you would like your contract?" It asked as it held out his hand that had a seal on the palm that began to glow.

"The back of my neck," she said lightly with a sleepy voice. Hinata fell asleep very quickly in The Oni's arm, knowing that there was a chance that things would be better than before. When she woke, she was sitting on a man's lap. He was dressed in peasant clothes and had spikey silver hair styled to one side. "Oni?"

"Now," he laughed lightly with a grin hidden behind his mask covered face. "We certainly can't have you run around calling me that, can we?"

"No," she said as she slowly got back to her feet and he began to dust off her clothes and straighten herself up. "I will call you, Hatake Kakashi." She said lightly with a smile as he looked to her. "Like the great ninja who was able to learn fighting styles so fast, it was rumored he was copying them."

"How fitting," he said as he stood. "And how should I refer to you, dono?"

"Hyuga-sama will work. Or any other variation," she held out her hand and he took it without question. "Please, remain silent when I talk to my father." Kakashi nodded and she began to lead him back to her manor.

It was the start to a grand adventure.

(Line Break)

Hinata kept her face forward as Kakashi opened up the door for her and helped her out of the carriage. She smiled lightly as she looked at her new home; it was something with two levels, and probably a basement to stay in as well. She looked to Kakashi as he directed a few extra people hired for the day to help take in all her things. Hinata slowly walked up to the front doors past a small silver gate. She would be sure to take a walk in the small yards and gardens she also had in her new home. Just before she reached the door, Kakashi appeared to already be right behind her and opened the doors for her. Hinata glanced back at him with a blush, "Thank you."

"It was nothing Hyuga-sama," he nodded to her and waited as Hinata walked in and removed her shoes. "We will have to have another lesson on your etiquette." He said with a smirk as she looked back at him. "You do not have to remove your shoes Hyuga-sama. It's actually odd for people to be without shoes while in their manors, let alone other manors."

"Well," she blushed and looked at her feet. "Can I at least not wear shoes in my home? I won't do it in other places, promise." She looked up at him with big pleading eyes and a light smile.

Kakashi chuckled lightly, "As you like; but I spoil you Hyuga-sama."

Hinata giggled and walked off looking for her room and new study. She was careful as to not get in the movers' ways and looked back to see that Kakashi followed behind, but was going through a checklist as movers passed him. Hinata climbed up the stairs and took notice on how smooth the floors and woods were; she would have to take great note to that. Hinata glanced back to see Kakashi had stopped to speak with a mover and she quickly sped up to get to a clear spot in the hall of the second floor. She glanced back once more and took a running start before sliding on the floors. She held back her laughter as she came to a stop in front of a grand bathroom and looked down at her feet to be sure she didn't get too much dust on her kimono socks. When she saw she was in the clear, Hinata continued on to the large maple doors that most likely lead to her master bedroom.

Hinata pulled open the doors and awed at how grand her room was. She took great joy to her large and elevated bed that was covered with a great canopy of silk white sheets. She walked over and lightly stroked the top of the bed and pushed down on the soft comforter.

"Would you like to change into something more comfortable, Hyuga-sama?" Kakashi asked as he walked in a mover followed with suitcases of her clothing. Hinata looked back and then back down at her pretty kimono. "May I suggest one of your yukatas? It will be a matter of time before you have to dress more formally to English culture in case of allies arriving for tea, dinners, and meetings. Not to forget your schooling uniform."

"Alright Kakashi," she said and stood still and Kakashi pulled out her favorite grey yukata and then undressed her. Hinata only allowed him to do so since she was never naked under her kimonos. She wore black undergarments and a pair of small black shorts since she hated the idea of being so bare; even if she was covered in layers of a kimono. But, her kimonos were meant to drape down and fall; she didn't that chance of being exposed to prying eyes.

Once done, Hinata sat down on her bed and lied back. "When will I start?"

"In two days," he said while putting away her kimono and other clothes. "So we will be doing nothing but lessons tomorrow and a quick run to the market to find more…home-like food so that you can be eased into the culinary here."

"I do not wish to go to the market," Hinata said with concern. "What if I am to run into other nobility that wish to speak? I am not ready for such a thing."

"You will not be left here alone."

"I can hire other servants, you need a bit of help around here."

"I will not leave your care in the hands of…humans." He said as just the thought of it made him sick. Humans were weak and easy to overpower. One second the person is a maid, the next, she is letting in assassins for the chance to become wealthy. They had too close of ties with other humans as well. He would not lose out on his end of the deal because of the ill care of a human.

"Well…" she looked at the floor as she kicked her feet. "Can you…Can you find some non-human ones?"

Kakashi stopped and looked back at her, a smirk coming on to his face but he did his best to hide it. "I do apologies…but what was that Hyuga-sama?" He crossed his arms under his chest and the girl blushed and twiddled her thumbs.

"I just think…if you would not trust a human-"

"Demons are only loyal until they are given their pay or promise of one." He informed her but took great glee when he saw that she was un-phased by it.

"What can I pay with?" She asked.

Kakashi thought for a moment; he knew demons, spirits, ghosts, and even Gods. And most of them took payments in souls, but he had already called his claim to it and refused to even part with even the smallest part of it. But he did know of three…beings, which would take little and give their loyalty. Mostly due to their own nature but also the fact that once they saw who was going to be their master they would kill themselves for the chance to be near her. Yes, he did know three that would be of some worth to him. They were not deal oriented demons like he was, but everyone has a price that needs to be paid.

"I know what to do Hyuga-sama," he said as he walked over to her and lightly placed the hand on the back of her neck. She was tensed under him as he slowly dragged his claw under his mark and allowed the blood to flow. She winced and bit her lip as collect the blood in a small orb in his hand and the cut soon healed after. Hinata watched with wide eyes as he waved his hand around and caught a little blood filled vile out of the air. "Shall I bring you your dinner or would you like to be in the dining hall?"

"Bring me my dinner please," she said as she held the back of her neck. Kakashi bowed and left her in the room. Hinata lied back on her bed and closed her eyes before whispering to herself the lullaby that her mother would sing to her. She allowed the darkness of her room to sink in and pondered what it would be like in England. Who would she meet? Where would she go? And what was going to happen during this long year of schooling?

When Hinata woke up again, she was face to face with a woman with bright red eyes and curly black air. Her lips were painted a deep red and she had a smile upon her lips. Hinata blinked a few times and looked over to see that the woman was floating above her. Her eyes widened as she slowly scooted away but the woman continued to follow. Hinata finally noticed she was dressed in a faded green, white, and blue kimono covered in outlines of goldfish with her obi being a lighter shade of blue. Her whole body was almost see through and Hinata had reached the end of her bed.

"Away from Hyuga-sama," Kakashi said as he walked in, already knowing what his companion had done. "You are to be on your feet and look solid."

The woman floated back to the floor and stood there with the smile still on her face. Hinata sat up and looked to Kakashi, "Who is this?"

"She is better known as the Lady of Illusion," he said as he walked over and kept by Hinata's side so she felt more protected as she sat before the woman. "She will be your maid; all you need is to give her is a name."

Hinata looked back to the woman, who had now tilted her head as she starred. "D-Do you…do you have a name in mind?"

"No," the woman said as she was suddenly in front of her and caused Hinata to jump back against the bed. "Would you like to see your dead mother?" She asked suddenly with a bright smile. "I can tell you miss her-"

"Enough," Kakashi pushed her away as Hinata sniffled as she tried not to think about her mother. "Her name, Hyuga-sama."

"Kurenai," Hinata said with a nod as she took a deep breath and stood tall. "I would like to have my dinner now. And I will have it in the dining hall." Hinata said as the woman began to smooth out her yukata and continued to smile like nothing happened. Hinata began to walk off and Kurenai followed behind her, with her feet not touching the ground. Hinata looked over to Kakashi, who walked right beside her. "Is she the only one?"

"No Hyu-" Kakashi was cut off as he ducked as another man went to tackle the butler to the ground.

"Stand before me Oni!" Hinata backed away as she watched a man dressed in full samurai attire with his katana drawn.

"He is one of the others," Kakashi said as he picked the dust off his yukata. "This is the Demon of the North Mountain…a samurai who died by the hands of his own men disguised as…me. He will be our gardener. Time in the Mountains Forest have given him time to become one with nature."

"I am no fool!" He yelled and went for Kakashi once more. "I shall not suffer in this existence because of it!" Hinata just stood away as Kurenai would giggle and preen the girl as if this was usual.

Hinata finally began to feel her hunger pains and she coughed lightly. The two stopped to look at her, "It is…rather rude to fight in my home…and before me in this state."

"Fair Lady of the Manor," the samurai bowed with his forehead touching the floor. "Forgive this behavior. I only wished to protect you from such foulness and evil." He stood and removed his mask. He had a bowl cut onyx hair and onyx eyes to match. "I will serve as you see fit."

Hinata walked up to him and he bowed once more. "You…are Gai and you will not fight the Oni unless I allow it."

"Understood, Fair Lady."

Hinata blushed and smiled. "I like that title better."

"Come now Fair Lady Hyuga," Kakashi said as he motioned down the steps, "your dinner will be luke-warm by the time you are seated." Hinata nodded with a blush staining her cheeks and followed behind him with a smile at the idea of dinner. Kakashi always knew what to make her. She was lucky that she had picked someone that was so well adapted into learning things quickly. Surely…being an Oni must have some perks. "Please, have a seat," he took her to the dining room and pulled out her seat at the head of the table. "This will also be a good time for you to meet the new cook."

He pushed her in and Hinata sat up straight and placed her hands on her lap. She watched the door in hopes to see someone new walk towards her. Hinata didn't say much about it as Kurenai, Gai, and Kakashi stood behind her chair. She sat back and covered her stomach when it growled loudly. She cleared her throat. "Maybe someone should check on the cook."

"Of course Lady Hyuga," Gai said as he seemed to glide over to the kitchen and Kakashi sighed and pinched the bride of his nose as her followed after him.

"Silly men and their need to out-do the other," Kurenai said with a giggle. "A woman's touch is truly the only way to get business done. Is that not true, My Lady?"

"Yes," Hinata said lightly as she ran her finer around the rim of her glass. "Being a woman does have its advantage."

"Especially over men of power," Kurenai said with a cold voice. Hinata looked back at her and the woman was back to a small smile. "Maybe we shall decorate your study tomorrow while Kakashi-san is away." Hinata nodded but the phrase played over in her mind every so often

Then, a man walked out. He was also in a mask. A plain white mask that had two black marks as eyes. He walked out with food and set up before Hinata. He didn't make a sound. He bowed and then walked off back to the kitchen. Kakashi came out, dragging Gai out after him and then motioned Kurenai over. Hinata tried to listen as he spoke, but she assumed he gave them new directions on what to do before the next morning.

Hinata picked up her chopsticks and began with perfectly cooked rice.

"He is The Silence. A spirit mostly seen at night and was the bringer of punishment to those who spoke far too much and far too loud." Kakashi explained as she ate. "What would you like to drink My Lady? Jasmine tea would best suit the taste of your main dish." Hinata nodded as she continued to eat.

"Asuma."

Kakashi gave a nod.

(Line Break)

Hinata sighed as Kurenai, who stood on both feet in a solid form and with a proper English maid uniform, fixed her hair up into a high ponytail with a jade dragon clip decorating the top. Hinata sat in a very stiff and proper school girl uniform. It was a plain black and white. She was going to attend Saint Mary's Girls Academy and she was unsure how to tell the Academy that she was Buddhist, not a Catholic. Her uniform consisted of a very prude dark grey dress with a high black collar that was tight around her neck, black cuffs, and ribbon around her neck. Underneath she wore a corset that was so tight, underwear, garter belts to hold up long wool tights, and painfully tight heeled boots to match. It was hot and she did not like it. Hinata didn't want to attend here. She should be back home, studying with her tutor, going to an Academy near home, and then slowly taking her place at the head of the household.

Sometimes she was impressed by how far her father would go to protect his position.

"There you are Lady Hyuga," Kurenai said with a bright smile and stepped away so Hinata could stand before a body mirror and look herself over. She giggled when Hinata seemed to huff in annoyance and examined herself in different poses. "I think you look like a princess."

"I think I look silly," she turned to look at her. "Can I have my things?"

"Gai had prepared for you this morning and have left them by the door." She gave a bow and took her hand. "Let us get you something to eat and see what Kakashi-san has planned." She smiled as she began to take Hinata downstairs. Hinata was usually okay with Kurenai's physical affection and how she touches her. And having another woman around was fun. "Maybe Asuma has made something delightful for the Lady."

"Yes, he is a rather good cook," she nodded.

"A man is far more useful with his hands and not his mouth." Kurenai commented as her eyes faded to a dull red. "We should rid even Gai and Kakashi of their useless mouths."

"Not Kakashi," she said lightly as they walked down the stairs. "He can talk his way out of many things, and talk me into favor." She went over to her seat at the head of the table and Gai pulled out her chair for her. "Thank you," she nodded to him and smoothed out her skirt. "I would like to eat now."

Asuma walked out with all her food, his mask still on along with his own chef outfit that Hinata had gotten for him. Gai also was in a new black and white uniform, but his was without the suit jacket since he spent most of his time outside; he and Kakashi thought it best to avoid one another to keep from Gai trying to fight him and kill him. She smiled as he set out all her food and she cleared her throat. "Do you not speak by choice or can you actually not speak?"

He just looked at her with her without uttering a single sound and Hinata had to lean back when he just stared at her with the blank mask eyes. He carefully grabbed the tray and walked out back to the kitchen in hopes to get away from the situation at hand. Hinata huffed lightly but began to eat anyway. "Very sorry Lady Hyuga," Kakashi came up to her in a new suit that made him look more like a butler. She loved seeing them in the new clothes, they looked so much better. "Asuma is loyal, but it has been a while since he has had a master to obey."

"Well…I will get him to open up to me," she said with a nod and began to enjoy her breakfast more. She finished and exited as Kurenai bean to clean up and Kakashi met her at the foyer to the front doors. He helped her put on her new black overcoat and carried her bag. Hinata looked back and cleared her throat. "Protect this house." She said as Kurenai, Gai, and Asuma even came out of the kitchen to face her. "It is mine, as well as yours."

"Yes, My Lady," Kurenai and Gai said and bowed while Asuma just bowed.

Hinata smiled and then turned as Kakashi held open the door and followed behind her to the carriage.

The ride was not very long and she wished that it was longer. Hinata would spend the whole day riding about London with her butler speaking smoothly to her. Though, he was trying to tell her important things that she was not paying attention to. "My Lady," Kakashi said with a sigh as he sighed. "How will you get through the day if you do not listen?"

"You will be waiting for me at the end of the day," she recited since Kakashi always gave her the same speech every time she had to something without him. "If something bad happens I will hide and wait for you to come and get me. Do not leave the area without you. I do know what to do Kakashi."

"You are so very clever," he said with a laugh as she blushed and fiddled with her fingers. "Come now," he said as they came to a stop and he opened up the door for her. Hinata stepped out and dusted off her jacket and took her bag from him. She tucked one of her long side bangs behind her ear and tried to move her regular bangs to get it out of her eyes. She looked over to the other side of the street and was wide eyes at the two people that stared at the St. John's Boy's Academy. She tilted her head as the tallest looked to be an older man. He was slim with black silky black hair. The other was a younger boy dressed in proper uniform for that school. He had the same blue hair that she had and also looked to be wearing an eye-patch. She didn't look away when the tall man, dressed in a butler's uniform turned his head to look at her. She locked with red eyes. The man had a handsome face and a wicked smile that made her blush. She felt Kakashi place his hands on her shoulders and also stared down the onyx haired man. "Something interest you, My Lady?" He asked lightly glad that a mask hid his sneer.

"Find out who they are," she said as the boy beside the butler turned and looked to her with the same scrutiny that Hinata looked to him with.

"My pleasure," he said with a smirk as he spun her around and they walked into the school. The other male did the same with the other boy. What either young noble didn't know was that their butlers existed at the same and starred at one another.

They shared a dark looks and sneers.

Both their masters have requested that they wanted to know the other.

(Line Break)

Ceil Phantomhive sat quietly in the fancy room that belonged to the very new noble from Japan. He was forced to kneel on a low table and had to remove his shoes to enter the room. He knew the game very well. She was making him uncomfortable with her customs since she knew that he was unaware if she would be a good ally or not. So, he had to bend to her whim. She wanted to see him squirm a bit and it was working so well. He sighed loudly as Sebastian was standing off to the side with a look of distaste.

Hinata opened the doors and entered with a soft smile; they both were still in school uniform. "Very sorry, Lord Phantomhive." She said lightly with a smile as she kneeled across from him.

Hinata and Ceil spent a whole two months researching, meeting with each other briefly at parties and events. She had taken the first move to invite him over for traditional tea and sweets so they could 'get to know one another' and basically size the other one up.

Ceil was just more upset that she to make the first move. Hopefully, she would play the game better. A queen never moves first.

"It was nothing….Lady Hyuga, is it?" He asked lightly as he pronounced her name as off as he could.

"Yes." And she had to humor him. Hinata smiled as Kurenai brought in the tea and all the sweets that Asuma had made. They both turned to watch as she happily set everything down and bowed to them both. Hinata quickly began to pour them both a cup of the hot tea. "I hope that the trip here was not too far," she said as she then poured her cup. "I would not want you to trouble yourself too much just to see me." She smiled at him and a sweet blush painted itself over her checks. He didn't know if it was real or fake.

"Next time, you can make the trip to my manor." He said back with a light smile. He hated having to come out to see her, but he was no going to miss out on his chance to get some one on one time with her.

Hinata nodded and took a small sip from her glass. "Your studies are going well?" She asked and hoped that her conversation was as awkward and useless as possible. She knew that the young Heir was always being underestimated and looked down on, but this time, they were on even playing fields. Even if she didn't form an ally with the Phantomhive family; that would go wrong for her father, not her. And if she did, her father would never hear word of it until it is too late.

"Yes," he answered. "And how is the education for you? Is it different from your schooling in Japan?"

"Oh yes, not as strict…or even that challenging." She said with a shrug as she picked up a dango.

"Indeed," he replied and they both just sat in silence as they ate. Hinata would shift when she felt the butler with black hair look to her; he made her shiver and nervous. She cleared her throat and Kakashi came in, like he was cued. Ceil placed his cup down and glanced to the grey haired man. "Delicious."

"Thank you."

Hinata lightly ran her finger around the rim of her cup and then placed her hands on her lap. She looked to Ceil with a smile that he didn't like. "Would you like to play a game, Lord Phantomhive?"

Ceil raised a brow, "What game?"

"Chess." She said and without much hesitation, Kakashi brought over a jade chess set with white jade and black jade pieces. He set up the board and then bowed to the two. "Take your leave and be sure you watch the Phantomhive butler." Hinata said in her native language and Kakashi nodded. "I do not think that you are needed Kakashi-kun," she said sweetly and smiled up at him.

"I will not leave you unsupervised with…two other males in the room," he said lightly as he looked to Ceil and then Sebastian.

"Oh, Ceil is nothing but a gentlemen…and his butler must be as well." She blushed lightly as she looked back to the dark haired male. "Is that a lie?"

"Sebastian," Ceil said, "Wait outside. I'll be sure to call you if anything does come up."

"Yes, my young Lord."

"I shall be right outside Hyuga-sama," Kakashi said following Sebastian out, both their eyes glowing as the door closed behind them. Kakashi walked off and Sebastian followed without a thought.

They both knew, they could both feel it off the other. There was something to exciting about the meeting too; this was their chance to fight something just like themselves and yet different. Kakashi opened the back doors to the gardens and then looked to Gai. "Leave." Gai looked back and frowned at the two, "be sure to listen for Lady Hyuga, she is alone with Lord Phantomhive," he said.

Gai nodded and walked away, but stopped right between the two. "Lady Hyuga said that there was to be no fighting in or around her manor. I would hate to see her reaction to a ruined garden from two heathens from hell's fire." He walked into the manor and Kurenai made herself a seat at the best spot. She would love to see a blood bath.

Hinata and Ceil were blissfully unaware at the war just outside since neither had figured out the other yet. She wasn't a big chess player, but she learned that the boy was. Why not appease to his strong point? Kurenai was very smart about the desires of men; best give him the idea that he had an upper hand so that he wouldn't squirm too much. "It has been a while since I could play this with someone other than Kakashi-kun." She said lightly with a smile. "He gets so predictable at times."

"You play it well…though," he said lightly as he looked up at her. "A perfect game of strategy and capture." Ceil said lightly as she watched her face scrunch with concentration on what to do next. It was something amusing to watch her bite her lip and her eyes dart around the board. She was at least trying to make the game interesting. She was far more interesting than he first expected.

As the game went on with very small talks and sweets eating, and Hinata's quick run to the restroom, he noticed something off. She was happier and smiled more at him as they played. And the way she played was rather odd. She favored moving the both her knights, a rook, and her queen. Her pawns made way but more became innocent bystanders and her Queen took a very strong place on the board. It was foolish, but it made for a fun game. Her King remained in his spot for most of the game, only once moving to hide behind three pawns and move another rook out.

Ceil smirked as he placed his fingers on his knight, "I do apologies but it seems that you have just lost of the queen." He said as he used his knight to take the queen.

"Oh no," Hinata said with fake concern and smiled when she placed her fingertips up to her lips. "My sweet queen; how will I get along without her?" Hinata smiled and continued on with the game without much more worry back on the piece. Ceil was now greatly suspicious about what was going on. He glanced around to see if he could find an excuse to get his butler back by his side. But he was so consumed by the plan to get to Sebastian he didn't notice how Hinata moved one pawn more than all the others. He was finally pulled back into the game when he heard the soft giggle from Hinata. She smiled at him with bright eyes that looked…different from when they started. He looked down to the board to see that a pawn had just made it to his side of the board. He looked back at her and she had a big smile and her eyes faded from lavender…to a piercing red. "My queen….has made it to your side." She laughed as Ceil's eyes widened and he stood up quickly. Just as he opened his mouth, Sebastian entered through the window, fixing his coat as he landed.

Hinata laughed as she 'popped' with a cloud of smoke and Kurenai was now sitting in the spot with a smile as Sebastian looked to her with a glare and pulled a silver knife out of his sleeve.

"Please do not dirty my Lady's floor," They all looked over to Kakashi, who had both doors wide open and was fixing the ends of his shirt. "What a terrible first impression you are all making."

"Where is she?" Ceil demanded as he glared at him. Finally seeing the glow in his eyes. He should have known, no average girl his age would have traveled to another country with just four servants. "If that girl thinks that she can play me like this!"

"You wanted to play the game," Hinata said as she stepped out from behind Kakashi. Her clothing the same as before but her hair was down and slightly ruffled. "I perfect game of chess."

"What did you do?"

"Your carriage is waiting for you outside," she said lightly with a smile as she bowed. Kakashi and Kurenai followed the action. "I have enjoyed your company Lord Phantomhive and I hope that we will be able to do it again. Maybe in your manor so that you do not have to travel so far." She entered and went to where Kurenai sat and picked up her tea. Sebastian and Ceil looked at her as she took a small drink. Ceil huffed and turned away to walk out, with Sebastian walking behind him. "Lord Phantomhive," she said as she began to set the pieces back up on the board. "Say hello to Tanaka for me." She glanced up at him and his wide eyes were almost amusing.

"With…pleasure," he said and walked out. He would have to have a word with his staff on what to do when some girl entered his home without him being there. He spoke as Sebastian was quick to keep at his side and let him out of the manor. "Arrange tea with her. I want her under my watch this time."

"It's her whole staff my young Lord," he informed him as they both to into the waiting carriage. "I do not think gaining entry will be as easy as it may seem."

"She can play the game and I need her to know that I will play the game better." The trip home after that was quiet. The Lord had to think of his next move, since the Queen was now safely back on her side of the board.

A King only needs one perfect move.

Luckily he would have plenty of pawns to fill the rest of the turns.

Bleach: Strawberry beside the Sun

Ichigo stood at the plate with his favorite baseball bat and a smirk. He missed days like this. Not much of school, or test, or how he has to help his dad at work, but just being able to have some fun once in a while. Though, his training is getting more fun since everyone was included and he liked the idea of always learning something knew. He tapped his cleats and smirked as the pitcher readied. "Hey Chad!" He yelled to the dark haired male in the outfield. "You better back up if you want to catch this one."

"Shut up and play the damn game!" Rukia yelled from her seat at the fence.

"Cram it!" Ichigo yelled back without looking at her. "Aren't you supposed to be playing with the other girls?"

"I'm sick," she gave a fake cough and smirked as Ichigo glanced back at her and rolled his eyes.

He didn't have time for this, he was supposed to be enjoying what little free time he had left. And just as the ball was pitched, Rukia's loud as hell Hollow alarm went off that he jumped and got a strike. He growled and looked over to Rukia, who nodded as she stood and ran off. He looked over to see that Chad and the Quincy both heard and needed to get out. Ichigo smirked as he got a pretty good idea and readied for another pitch. He pointed right at Uryū Ishida, one of his good friends but close to the bottom of that list. The dark haired male only frowned and planned on smacking the orange haired male later.

"Here we go Ichigo!" Keigo Asano yelled as he stood at first.

After the pitch, Ichigo hit it out right to the shortstop, Uryū, right into his face. Uryū went down and was know for sure going to kill the Shinigami. "Aw shit!" Ichigo cried out as he ran over to him and Chad followed. "We'll get him to the nurse's!" He said as the two carried away the grumbling man who was glaring and holding his bloody nose.

"Was that really necessary!?" Uryū yelled as the stopped when they were in the school, by their classroom

"It got us out of class, right?" Ichigo scoffed as he went into the class and pulled sleeping Kon out of his bag. "Wake up pervert!" He yelled.

"The hell do you want?!" Kon yelled as he tried to lash out. "I don't want to be in your disgusting body!" He yelled as he tried to keep the male from reaching into the lion's mouth. "No!" Kon was still when Chad hit the back of the dolls head hard enough that it spat out the soul candy. Ichigo wiped it off behind swallowing and was pushed out of his body. "Oh great," Kon groaned as he looked down at Ichigo's body. "I'm going to stay here!" He was ignored when Ichigo motioned them all to follow.

"Where is the little bitch!?" The Hollow yelled as it ran across the sky with a glare. The four followed and where led to a park when the Hollow landed. "Come out you little clan bitch!" It laughed as it began to attack someone.

"It might have Rukia." Ichigo said. "We gotta get through!"

"Hold on idiot," Uryu said as he motioned over to a girl that was kneeling on the bench and looking back at the park. "She's going to get in the way."

"Don't worry," Kon said as he walked out and ran a hand through orange hair. "I'll keep her busy." He walked over and Chad held Ichigo back as Kon went over. The three sweat dropped when they saw the two talking and the girl happily took his hand and began to pull Kon off in another direction.

"Come on," Chad said and the two nodded. They ran into the park, and were shielded by Orihime from a blast of energy. "Thanks," Chad said as his arm changed and he charged.

"Thank goodness you guys are here," she said as she summoned back her power and sent out two that where more fighters. "It's stronger than it looks."

"Do you have any idea who it is after," Uryū asked as Ichigo ran into the fight. He summoned his bow and arrows and tried to fire shots faster than it ran. Orihime began to provide cover.

"Her!" She yelled as she pointed to the sky.

A blue haired girl stood in the sky, her weapon a giant hammer. She was dressed in altered Shinigami clothes, and was obviously in a Bankai state. What was more surprising was that her spiritual pressure was so…controlled that none of them have even noticed her. She readied her weapon back and gave the hollow a harsh blow in the face, knocking it back towards Chad, who slammed it into the ground. Rukia entrapped the hollow, as Ichigo went for another blow. The girl didn't even flinch when another Hollow appeared out from behind her, and Uryū shot it. She turned her head and looked back at it. As it roared, her hammer turned into a sleek naginata and she shoved the blade into its head.

"Above!" Rukia yelled as she and Ichigo went up to meet her.

She lifted her hand up and shot out a blast of yellow light. The Hollow evaporated and she took in a deep breath. Rukia and Ichigo felt the heat that came off of her. It was like the sun. Ichigo went wide eyed when he saw the girl. "You're that girl from the bench!" She turned to face him and he was struck by big lavender eyes and a red blush on her cheeks.

"Oh no…Usa-chan," she said as her zanpaktou went back into a sword form; she put it back in her sheath as the three went back to the ground. "Did she give you trouble?" She asked lightly and then looked over and smiled. "Chad!" She went over to him and smiled. "I thought I saw you."

He nodded to her. "Are you well?"

"Oh…I am well. Uruhara-san is a very welcoming host." She said with a nod and then looked back to the others. "Who are your companions Chad?"

"This is Ichigo Kurosaki, Rukia Kuchiki, Uryu Ishida, and Orihime Inoue." He then motioned to Hinata. "This is Hinata Hyuga." Hinata bowed to them and smiled sweetly. "Why were those Hollows after you?" He asked.

"Oh…it's something that actually has been happening a lot…" she sighed. "I'm sorry that you all got pulled into it. You must have had to skip classes."

"My brother told me about you," Rukia said with a smile. "Yes…you are the newest member in his division." Hinata nodded and blushed at the thought that her taichō would even write to his sister about her. "What are you doing here, anyway?"

"Lots of paper work it seems…other than fighting Hollows." She said with a light laugh. Just as she was about to further explain, Kon and Usa stumbled out from the bushes.

"Like I'm gonna go easier on some dysfunctional soul!" Kon yelled as he got back in a fighting position and Usa laughed as she pulled long blue hair back into a messy bun.

"Go easier? I didn't know your fighting was worse than this," she dusted off the pants Hinata wore and fixed the hoodie. Jinta and Ururu thought it best to modern up the girl's clothing since sometimes she looked so dated. "Your model is so obsolete. No wonder they pawned you of on some sub."

"Hey!" He and Ichigo yelled. "That sub is a way better Shinigami than whoever's body you wear."

"Big boobs can kick your idiot sub's ass!" Usa yelled back and Hinata buried her head in her hands. She and Ichigo quickly went over to their bodies and forced the dueling souls before they could try to kill one another. Usa was back in her little stuffed bunny plush and Hinata clutched her tight. "You're going to blow the stuffing right out of me!"

"Usa-chan! Y-You can't go around fighting people like that. What if he had been human?" She asked with concern and worry. "You could hurt someone like that."

"I knew he was stupid mod since I saw Carrot top in his Shinigami form," Usa crossed her arms and glared over the girl's shoulder. "You both got lucky!"

"I can take you any day!" Kon yelled and laughed as he jumped from Ichigo's hold and stood on the ground. "At least my guy doesn't keep me stuffed in some dumb looking doll."

"Dumb?!" Usa wriggled and yelled. "Let me go big boobs! I'm gonna tear off his button eyes!"

Hinata turned to look at them with an embarrassed smile and blush. "I will be sure to come and visit you all on much better terms." She bowed with Usa still yelling and whining about not getting her way. The five humans just stood there as Kon laughed and teased.

Rukia smiled brightly, "Her bunny is so cute!"

"Rukia," Kon teared up and looked at her. "I thought I was the cutest?"

"Shut up," Ichigo looked down at him with a glare. "What the hell is wrong with you?"

"What an odd form of Shinigami," Uryu said as he fixed his glasses and sighed. "How new is she to the organization?"

"My brother only said that she has been around for less than a full year." Rukia said. "It's funny though, he made a point to say that she comes from a whole other form of the living world." They looked down at her. "He mentioned, that her world, is a place where people can use their energy to conjure things and make them physical. Almost like how our Bankai works."

"I saw her walk on water," Chad added.

"Wow! Really?" Orihime asked with a bright smile. "That would be so cool to see!"

"It was." Chad said and Hinata poked her forefingers together.

"So," Uryu said dryly as he fixed his glasses. "The Shinigami have invaded another dimension to recruit."

Hinata looked to him and recognized the patterns of his reiryoku that he gave off. She frowned. "You are a Quincy…." They both made eye contact, neither pleased to see the other one. "You kill hollows and the poor soul that was taken over."

"There is no soul left in a hollow," he said back.

"There is always a soul left behind. The one tiny hope that there is still good left." She shot back and the two just glared at one another. "You destroy that hope."

"Please no fighting," Orihime said as she stood between the two. She smiled brightly, "We should all be friends, right?"

"I like her," Ichigo said with a smile as Hinata looked up at him. "She dislikes you more than I do." He laughed at Uryu, who just scoffed and turned away. "We have to get back to class. I am all out of excuses for you all." The other nodded and Hinata just held Usa as they began to walk away. Ichigo looked back and motioned for her to follow. Hinata blushed red and looked around to see if he was referring to someone else. "I meant you idiot." He said with a laugh as she jogged over to him, the two being forgotten by everyone except for Chad, who only gave them a glance before going back to looking ahead.

"I do not go to school." She said lightly as they slowly walked after the group. "I should head back to Uruhara-san's shop; it is my turn to close." She added as Usa just huffed and kept silent for once. Usa could tell the girl just needed to talk on her own.

"You never went to school?" He asked lightly.

"I went to an Academy from the age of five to twelve." She explained. "Then I graduated."

"Graduated?" He looked at her with wide eyes. "At twelve?"

"It is a different educational system then this world. I talked to Chad all about it since I was so confused at why….why they were so many children just running around." She never thought that it would be such an odd site. But there were kids almost everywhere and maybe it was from how big the city was but she thought that maybe it was because children lived longer. "My teachings were so I could become a genin level shinobi."

"A ninja?" He asked with a wide smile. "A world of ninjas?"

"Yes." She nodded. "Ninjas."

"That sounds awesome."

"It's not…" she said lightly and she stopped and looked up at the sky. Ichigo stopped and looked back at her.

He just, watched as she gazed into the sky, like it was her home. He almost laughed at the thought. The Sun misses the sky…oh.

He understood now.

"You miss it." He said sadly as she began to blink in hopes to keep the tears away. "You want to go back home."

"They always said I would never make it to Anbu….and when I almost did…..I died." She took in a shaky breath and closed her eyes, letting the light of the sun just cover her body with a warmth she had missed so much. "My friends and family are all just right on the other side of where I was…but they sent be here. I can enter the world of the living…but my world…."

Ichigo looked to Kon, who had grown surprisingly quiet. Kon looked up at him and gave him a nod. "Hinata, right?" He asked lightly. She looked at him using her free hand to wipe the tears from her eyes. "My world isn't all that shitty." He said as he rubbed the back of his neck. "I should show you all the good stuff…like, how about a burger?"

Hinata looked at him with a raised brow, "What in the world is a burger?"

(Line Break)

Hinata couldn't believe what she had eaten, she just stared at the odd looking sandwich she had taken a bite out of. "What am I eating again?"

"A hamburger Hinata," Ichigo said with a smile and laugh. "You never had a hamburger?"

"Never," she looked at him and then picked up the fried potato stick. "And what is this?"

"French fry," he said and ate his own lunch. Ichigo decided to skip out on class and just give the girl something to smile about. She was prettier when she smiled. "Do you at least like them?"

"I am not really sure…I do not dislike it," she added and then took another bite. "Do you eat these a lot?"

"Not really…" he shrugged. "Alright," he sat back and grabbed his soda. "What do you do for fun?"

"I drink tea and read books." She said as she looked up at him. "What are you drinking?" He held it out to her and Hinata hesitantly took it. She took a sip and nearly spat it all back out. "It's bubbly!" She smiled and giggled. Ichigo blushed when she looked back up at him. "It's sweet and bubbly." He quirked a smile and watched as she took another drink. He took it back and took a drink without thinking. He didn't want to dwell on it.

"So…what did you do for fun before….?" He tried to ask as kindly as he could.

"I would train with my teammates…drink tea and read books."

"Have you ever been to a mall?"

"A what?"

Ichigo sighed. "We have a long day ahead of us, don't we Hinata?"

And they both smiled.

(Line Break)

Hinata and Ichigo walked along with something called a 'milkshake' that was vanilla flavor. She was in the mall with Ichigo and she was beyond amazed at everything packed within the building. Clothes, shoes, toys, books, food, and everything in between. They even had a pet store within the mall. Hinata stopped in almost every store and had to touch everything she could. Hinata would even circle the mannequins that modeled clothes. She caused Ichigo little heart attacks since she would run off from him into another store.

But then they came to a little pet shop.

Hinata stood at the window with wide eyes as she starred at the puppies that barked at her and clawed at the glass. She had her eyes set on a little white dog that barked louder than all the others and bounced around like a ball. Ichigo stood by her as she just starred at all of them and smiled sweetly.

"Fan of animals?" He asked.

Hinata nodded, "One of my best friends, Kiba Inuzuka, he and his family worked at a vet. They usually had nin dogs…and I loved it there." She laughed lightly and looked up to Ichigo. "Dogs just remind me of home is all?"

"Come on," he took her hand to pull her inside. "Uruhara pays you, right?" Hinata nodded and he smiled, "Then you can pay me back later." He went over to the window pen and bent down. He picked up the white puppy that was barking and wagging his tail. Hinata gasped as he handed her the dog and she quickly took the dog and held him close. Ichigo smiled as Hinata instantly connected with the puppy and he went over to the counter to pay for the dog. He sighed lightly as he waited at the counter for the older woman, who saw the whole thing, gather up supplies and papers that come with the dog.

"You are a good boyfriend." She said with a laugh as Ichigo looked at her. "My husband bought me a puppy while we were dating, and a few years later, he placed the ring on my dog's collars. We've been married ever since." She said with a smile and Ichigo just tried to pay her and get on with his life. "Hope you two spend a wonderful life with your dog."

"Thanks," he muttered and walked back over. "What are you going to call him?" Ichigo asked as he put the bag down and pulled out a small collar. He stood back up and stopped when he saw the smile on Hinata's face. She was crying, but smiling and holding her dog like it was her baby. The dog even just suddenly calmed down. Not hyper, or barking, or even panting. He was just relaxed as he lied against his new owner. Ichigo could understand why; Hinata was just so calming and warm and just made…probably everyone just feel….safe.

"Akamaru," she said lightly as she looked to the orange haired boy.

"Hm?"

"I'll call him Akamaru." She repeated and smiled. Ichigo nodded and put the collar around the dog's neck and then was surprised when she held put the puppy to him. "You can hold him too…if you want."

"Thanks," He took the dog that licked his face and tried to claw over him and climb. Akamaru was sure to go back to his normal self. "Why don't we take your new dog home-?"

"Akamaru is our dog Kurosaki-san," she corrected him with a bright smile. She picked up the bag, "We'll take our dog home."

"Our dog…" he said lightly. Gosh that thought still haunted him. Every night, every morning, and every time he was in school trying to keep up his grades. And with no other reason, he would go to Uruhara's shop nearly every day after school. He was sure there was something wrong with him, but he would be greeted by a lovable pup and Hinata cleaning the shop. He wondered if anyone else worked there now since she always seemed to be doing everything. "Hey Akamaru," Ichigo smiled as he knelt down and tried to pet the dog that was trying to jump up and lick his face. He laughed lightly and picked up the dog and carried him to the porch. Akamaru was not allowed inside the shop, but he was rather good to staying close by near his food and water. Ichigo dropped down a treat he always brought as he walked in. "Good boy."

"What do you want fruit?" Usa asked as she peeked over the counter and saw that is was the host to her arch enemy, Kon. "Where is your failure mod?"

"Right here you pathetic weakling!" Kon jumped out from Ichigo's bag much to the man's distaste. He jumped to the floor and pointed up to Usa as she stood on the counter. "You ready for our next match?"

"Please," she flipped her ears back, "like I would waste my time with some sad mod." She walked over to the register. "If you guys are not going to buy anything, you can just leave. Uruhara-san said we have not business for the likes of you."

"Usa," Hinata said as she walked in with a little lunch, "you should have stayed inside, and you cannot talk to customers like that."

"It's just the silly fruit, sunshine!" Usa whined and stomped her feet. "I do not want him or his stupid mod here."

"Be nice," she said with a smile and looked to Ichigo. She blushed lightly and looked back at her lunch. "How are you Ichigo-san?" He only shrugged and leaned against the counter. "Well…what can I help you with?"

"That slow of a day?" He asked with a smile and she nodded. "Why are you always working?"

"I feel like I am doing something useful, I do not want to be a burden while I am here." She said lightly and the saddened, "Um…Ichigo-san….can I ask you something?"

"Yeah," he said and looked to her with a sudden curiosity. She never really asked much of him, or anyone. She greatly disliked being helped and rather do something on her own first. She took the chance to look up at him and smiled lightly.

"Will you take care of Akamaru….when I have to go back?"

And that was what hit him. Hinata was going to have to go back to the Soul Society sooner or later, and it looked like it was going to be sooner than he had hoped. He wouldn't be able to see her anymore…hell, he didn't know if he would ever be able to see her again. It would just be him and this dog that she loved so much. Ichigo looked back to see Akamaru running around chasing bugs and his own tail at points. Gosh, he wondered who would take it the worse, him or the dog. But, why was he being so negative? Ichigo was usually more…optimistic than this, but this was an issue that cut a little deeper.

"Yeah," he nodded. "Not a problem. Just until you got back." And they both smiled at one another and knew that deep down, the wound cut a little deeper since the chances that she was ever going to come back was more unlikely than them telling one another that they didn't want to lose them. Hinata quickly lightened the mood when she invited him in for something to eat and calling Akamaru to come in to join.

And it was the last meal they shared. Hinata had learned to make burgers.

(Line Break)

"Why won't he just go home?" Jinta huffed as he and Ururu were working around the shop. "He comes over with his annoying dog and just sits out there with that look on his face." He held on to his broom tightly and glared. "And he never cleans up after that dog; I'm always the one that had to rescrub the front porch when it tracks mud everywhere."

"Come on Jinata," Ururu said in her light and feather like voice. "Mr. Urahara says that Kurosaki is just sad about Hinata leaving."

"So he has to sulk here?" Jinta turned away. "I am going to go grab something to eat. Cover for me." He said before Ururu could even agree to do as he asked her to. She looked back out to Ichigo, who was just sitting there and throwing a ball for Akamaru to go catch. He was not smiling; she was not sure if he was even thinking at the moment. Ururu walked out and sat down beside him. She didn't want to say anything, but she thought that just being there would do some good for the man.

Ururu glanced at him and then looked back out to see Akamaru running back with the ball. "The best way to grow strawberries….is to let them have six to eight hours of sun." She began lightly as she looked at her apron and dusted herself off. "And when it gets cold, you cover them up and protect them from the frost…so when spring begins, they are uncovered and will grow beautifully again." Ichigo looked at her and Ururu looked at him and then back down. "Just saying…."

Akamaru sat down in front of him and dropped the ball at his feet. He just wagged his tail and waited for the next toss. Ichigo picked up the dog and just held him on his lap and petted him. "When is spring coming back then?"

Kisuke Urahara just leaned against the counter and looked to him with sudden worry. The boy didn't need more heart break. He went back into his home and looked around with a sudden goal. He had to find a way to get his best assistant back. And with her around the Hallows were more…concentrated. She was able to save the humans from them since Hallows became so much more interested with her. He looked over and nearly jumped when he saw the woman, Yoruichi Shihōin, sitting in her usual clothes; a black, backless, sleeveless undershirt, an orange over-shirt with two white straps on each shoulder, a large beige sash around her waist, and black stretch pants with a pair of lightweight brown shoes. She smiled at him and held up a book. "I found a dirty book." She sang lightly with a cat like smirk. "You want me to read it to you? It is kind of funny." She asked but saw that he wasn't blushing and smiling like a school girl. "What?"

"Ichigo misses my sweet little Hinata." He sighed lightly as he held himself in an overdramatic way. "I do not know if I can take seeing him so sad."

"And he brings Akamaru and I think he's been trying to kill me," she said with a light hiss in her voice. "The dog knows and Hinata was the only thing that made him nice to me…." She thought back to when she first time she met the Hyuga. She was just a cat and the girl was so sweet and kind to her. Hinata had brought her out water and food; she even went as far as to bring her inside and place her in a small made up bed on a pillow with a warm blanket. Yoruichi stayed like that for nearly two weeks to receive such royal treatment until Kisuke gave her up and Hinata was a stuttering mess. Yoruichi loved watching how people reacted to her being naked. Hinata was out until dinner that Ururu and Jinta had to make.

"Do you think Kuchiki would allow her to stay here for a while? The girl is one of the best fighters and the Seireitei is in no trouble." He explained as he went over to his desk. "The girl is a great fighter naturally, but her work with her weapon is subpar."

"She never gets the chance to really use it," Yoruichi stood up and put her book down. "In all honesty, this will give her the chance to become better." She smiled and went around the desk and began to write out a letter. "They cannot have their Shinigami getting rusty, right?" She smiled at him and Kisuke laughed lightly as he left her to her writing. Yuroichi had a very easy time at convincing to get what she wanted. Hopefully she would bring back the sun.

But on the other side of the plane between the living and the dead, Hinata was sitting on the rooftop of her little home and staring at the sky…just hoping for something to show her that the world of the living was not as far away as it felt. Hinata had been pushing to go back. Something about the congregation of Hallows being far too high and substitutes can only keep them at bay for so long. Not only that, but she spent the little free time she had researching how they transported her to and from each plane. Hinata knew Kenpachi had gotten to her some way, but why could she not get back. Hinata had the chance to see everyone again. The chance at finding out what was happening in Konoha filled her with fear and delight. She could see her family, her friends, everyone she ever met she would greet with tears and opened arms. But there was also the fear that her home was in ruins. Tensions were high enough as it was when she was alive. Time had gotten away from her that she had no idea how long she had been gone. Months, years…who knew? Hinata also wondered what good it would do to go home and know that she could never stay. Being back from the dead helped no one. Maybe…it would be best if she stayed dead.

"Oi," Renji called as he stood below and looked up at her. Hinata peered over the edge and looked down at him. "You actually going to eat today or are you skipping?"

"I am not really hungry…" she said lightly and shrugged. "You can head on without me."

"This isn't healthy and you know it," he warned and crossed his arms over his chest. "I'll bring you back something and leave it with you. We have training tomorrow and do not think that I am going to let you skip out on eating before that either." He then walked off and Hinata lied back on the roof and starred.

"You should not linger like this." Amaterasu spoke lightly as she sat beside her and starred at the horizon. "You have come so far and you will not throw it all away to go a mile back." Her long black hair had spilled onto the tiles and her kimono was so beautiful in the setting sun. She was glowing. Far prettier than any sunlight. "We are strong woman of a culture where we are treated like ornaments for others. We will strive to make you better." Hinata looked over to her and smiled. "My sweet shine of my sun light. You are too strong to break so easily."

"I want burgers." Hinata said with a laugh as Amaterasu only smiled at her when Hinata looked back at the sky. "A thick milkshake. Maybe some donuts….to sweep up the shop." She saddened lightly and closed her eyes. "I want to see Ichigo Kurosaki."

"My, my," she said with a light smile and laughed lightly. "He is quite a site to look at, is he not?" Amaterasu contemplated and blushed. "And have you seen Tensa Zangetsu?" She asked as her cheeks turned a darker red and she laughed lightly to hide her embarrassment. Hinata blushed lightly as she thought back to the first time she had ever seen Ichigo's Bankai form…he was a force to be respected. It was another hallow, it was lingering around a hospital. The soul behind it thought she was going to see her husband, but the hallow part of her was just hungry. Hinata was so shocked when Ichigo had went instantly into his Bankai and took off. The two had been the first to the fight because they had just seen another movie. Nothing like the movies that Hinata watched back in Konoha, but she had a thing for anything with cars, robots, and space. Ichigo said she liked sci-fi but she also liked the movies about people falling in love. Ichigo took her to one of those and he was hesitant to take her to another one.

"He is powerful…"

"Oh to bare his sons would be an honor," Amaterasu said with a sigh and then smirked. "And to actually bed that man would be a delight."

"Amaterasu," Hinata squeaked and blushed a bright red; she held her cheeks and couldn't look at her.

"Oh but you have yet to disagree with me." She teased and winked at her when Hinata glanced over. "Imagine such a build looming above you…or beneath." She giggled as Hinata hid her face and was stuttering out how it was wrong to think those kinds of thoughts so openly. She was close to all her companions and captains. She looked back to the woman, but the woman was staring out into the horizon with this odd look on her face. It was an expression that Hinata saw the woman make when she thought she wasn't looking. The face of someone long remembering a past that is long gone. "You may not know this…but I have been with you far before you entered this world." Hinata looked at her with wide eyes. "Everyone in your world has a spirit...oddly enough in your world, it runs through linage." Amaterasu felt tears sting her eyes. "I from your mothers…within your young dreams as a girl, after your mother passed…you reached out to me. I was drawn to you after the loss of my sweet Hinako." She breathed a shaky breath and looked to the sky. "You hold onto us…we are those burst of chakra you thought you did not possess, we are the voice that pulls you from death, we are the body that moves you when you have been so broken but refuse to fall…we are the warmth those around you feel pass on when death pulls you away." She looked to her, "I nearly thought I lost you that day…how I nearly caused you to turn so quickly."

Hinata looked at her with wide eyes. "That force at the end of the chain."

Amaterasu nodded as more tears fell. "I did not want to lose another. I swear I never let myself grow so desperate. But you had loved so much and I felt like I would never be with anyone like that after my sweet Hinako." She sobbed and looked up at the dark sky filled with stars. "So I tore pieces away to get closer; that damn chain was keeping me from you." More tears fell and her eyes grew so dark that the looked like black holes in her head. "I thought…if I could just touch you, I could push you back in. But the closer I got the more my mind clouded…I got so scared."

"I'll be all alone," Hinata recited. She had heard it. "No one will find me dead. No one will know I am dead and I will rot and feed the birds." She starred as the woman cried more and more and her eyes were fully black with little bright spots of purple in the center. "Someone notice me…someone miss me…please do not forget me."

"I wanted to stop because I was turning you, the mask nearly engulfed my face. The new me that would have taken everything you were and twist it into something so hungry that it would kill to fill the void." Amaterasu sobbed loudly as she tried to muffle herself and there was something so pathetic about the image. "I could not speak to you when Zaraki-taichō saved you from me. And when I found out that you knew nothing I just tried to just go on like it never happened." Amaterasu looked at her with her black eyes and a mask clasped in her hands. "I think that is why you and the Kurosaki boy have connected so quickly. And how you both had advanced so quickly." She snapped the mask and watched it float away into the air. Her eyes turned back to normal as her tears still fell. "If you love him…just love him with everything you can." Hinata blushed and stood as she looked up at the sky. "I wanted to love someone with everything I had and I focused too much on the others around me…and I think of him every day."

Hinata closed her eyes and took in a deep breath. "I would like to go back to see Ichigo."

She smiled at the sky and wondered what the whole gang was up to, and hoping that the Hallows were not causing too much trouble.

Byakuya Kuchiki was not too happy about the letters he kept getting over and over from the human realm. It was constant, every day he got another letter encouraging him that sending out his assistant back out to that reached city where his sister is already trapped to aid that stupid substitute. He was about ready to toss it away until he caught the extra scrawling at the end of the letter. He only took notice to it when he saw a cute little bunny at the bottom. Byakuya read it over and saw that Rukia had left a small note. She asked him to ask Hinata what she wanted to do.

And then Byakuya knew he was going to have to send her back…and he didn't not think that he would be getting her back anytime soon. He had caught her staring into the distance, her training days had become so little in time since the Soul Society was preparing to take in more Shinigami from the Academy. So Hinata was running around letters, waivers, and lists of new recruits. But there were days he would see her just standing and looking up at the sky. Or when she would take turns to pass through the 12th division zone to talk to Nemu. He was informed by Kurosuchi that she was asking about all the realms they have access to. Or she would go back to talk to Kenpachi about how he got to her world to begin with…or how to get back to Karakura Town. He sighed lightly and got up. He walked out of his office and just scanned the barracks where his division stayed. He saw her in the low light of the setting sun.

"Alright," he said to himself and went back to his desk to finally respond to the ridiculous letter.

(Line Break)

Hinata was nothing but smiles as she stood at the edge of Karakura Town in a light blue sundress and her bag filled with papers and reports that she would have to do while she was there. Her captain said that if she was having trouble with it, that she was to report back without question but Renji only winked at her as she left with a knowing smirk. Her mission was to take back some control on all the hallows that were still showing up after her last visit. Also taking the time to learn her role as a Shinigami since Hinata had never helped a soul pass over; she only fought hallows. It was supposed to be good practice, but that was the last thing on her mind as she began her walk towards her place of work. Hinata was just happy to be back where she felt like she was a part of something better. Not just a messenger, not an assistant, but an actually help in the way this town ran. This was her chance to show everyone that she could be a great scout instead of a messenger.

Not to mention that she was rather excited to see the whole gang again.

Ichigo

She would get to go around the human town and see all the people and things that made this dimension so unique.

Ichigo

There would be time to finally try all the foods she never had before and get to see all the good movies that were out.

Ichigo

Also, Akamaru would be so happy to see her.

"What about Ichigo Big Boobs?" Usa asked as she popped out of the bag and looked up at her with her big button eyes. Hinata blushed a dark red and fiddled with her forefingers. Usa groaned loudly. "Do we have to do this now? Just kind of be so weird and awkward around one another?" She ducked back into the bag and got comfortable around all the scrolls and papers. "Fine. But do not think for a second that I will help you get over this. Since he has that stupid mod soul with him and that thing makes me want to punch a baby deer." Usa said loudly and Hinata just tried to skirt around all the humans. Hinata looked down at her feet and watched as her brown sandals would bend and twist as she walked. There was something so simplistic about it. Though she missed her old sandals. The ones that withstood all the elements and hid blades in the heal.

"I would just like to get to work." Hinata said lightly with a small smile as she did think about getting to see Ichigo again. Gosh, she has been gone for what seemed like months. Maybe stuff came up and the two cannot hang out as much as they used to. Besides, he had a job to do if she was there or not. Not that he would just drop everything just to see her.

Hinata looked up to the sky and was so happy just to see clouds and the things calls planes fly across the sky. She would be that Shikamaru would have a field day being here. All the things that they can learn and bring back to Konoha. "I wonder if they will let me make dinner tonight," she thought aloud as she made her way to the shop that she had missed so much. Maybe Jinata and Ururu would be working or maybe they were still in classes. Hinata had to still handle the grasp that there are people her age in this dimension that still took classes. Though, the two would talk about something called a summer break were they got time off from all the schooling they got. She took in a deep breath when she saw the shop and was surprised to see that someone lying on the porch. Not to mention that a little white dog lied on their chest. They were sun bathing. She felt her heart beat race as she glanced up to see bright orange hair.

"Come now," Amaterasu said lightly and Hinata felt the slight push. "Love him before it is far too late to." There was another push and Hinata took a few steps forward and suddenly stopped when Akamaru shot his head up to look at her. Ichigo petted him but the dog quickly jumped down and began to bark at her as he walked his tail. Ichigo groaned and covered his head, looking to be yawning, and then turned his head to look at what the dog was barking at.

They both just starred at one another. Hinata was sure that Ichigo had not really registered what was going on and who he was looking at. She was amazed that he really hadn't changed all that much, He was still so handsome though. But maybe, things in his life had changed. Like maybe he got a new job. Or he was done with all his schooling. Maybe he made new friends. He could have gotten a partner. That was someone who Hinata did not look forward to meeting. They could have been attractive, smart, or more powerful than she ever wished to be. But, she had to remind herself, that Ichigo was allowed to be with whomever he wished to be with. Even if it wasn't her. He finally stood up as Akamaru ran over to Hinata and barked at her feet, wanting to be played with. Usa peeked out and saw that the cost was clear and quickly jumped down to pet the dog. Oddly enough, Usa loved Akamaru and he loved her. The two ran off playing with one another, but Hinata and Ichigo still continued their stare down.

She began to walk towards him and he did the same. They didn't meet in the middle like she had hoped; she had thought they would both stop and say their hellos and mention that they missed one another. That didn't happen though. Ichigo engulfed her in an embrace and Hinata reciprocated the gesture as she began to tear up. Why did it feel like they had been separated for year? Why did Hinata feel so happy to be in his hold? Why did the world just seem better right at that moment?

"I missed you," her voice cracked as she laughed lightly at how foolish she must sound. She held him tighter and buried her head in his chest.

"I probably missed you more." He said lightly with a chuckle and refused to loosen his grip. "What was keeping you so long?"

"Paper work. New students. All that junk," she said back muffled.

"Hell, I bet those bastards gave you such a bore."

"Yeah."

They both laughed and finally looked at one another.

Jinata and Ururu stood at the doorway. Jinata scoffed, "Finally, that guy can leave us alone."

"It's so nice though." Ururu said with a light smile.

"What is?"

She laughed lightly, "Spring is back."

Soul Eater: The Wicked

(Mild Warning of Shojo-ai [girl-love])

She was…terribly hungry.

When did she last eat? Was it not just a couple hours ago…right? She ate food, but it was like she had not eaten at all. The hole in her was not filled and she wanted to fill it so bad. Why was she always so hungry like this? Was it not her job to be alert and ready for a fight? How can she fight if hunger was clawing at her body and demanded to be satisfied? Her eyes looked about the dark room and she went over to the door and gave three hard knocks. "Mother?" She called lightly and waited in the darkness of the room. "Mother…I'm hungry…may I eat?" She heard someone walk up to the door, and she didn't flinch as a large man opened up the room and the light flooded the place. Her eyes burned but she was just too hungry.

He grabbed her arm and led her out to a large room. She felt herself begin to drool at the idea of what was happening. Gosh…she could eat soon.

"Hinata," her mother. Her kind and nurturing mother smiled so wickedly at her as the blue haired girl stood there, her eyes on the floor where some human cowered. Her mother, with short blonde hair and beautiful eyes, kicked the human into the center, right at Hinata's feet. "My sweet little daughter…you have been so good today." Hinata tilted her head as the human began to cry out in fear. She moved each finer very slowly as she leaned down closer to the human. "Time to show your mother how much you love her." She looked over to another girl, and motioned her closer. "And you can show mother if you are ready to wield."

"Yes mother," the girl said lightly and walked over to Hinata. She smiled and giggled as the blue haired girl stared down at the human; she thought it so cute that Hinata was so fascinated by the humans. She took Hinata's hand and smiled at her so sweetly even though her eyes looked just like their "mother's". Hinata let herself go, just like she did all the time. Pure instinct took over, whether she was born with it or learned it did not matter; she just needed to eat.

All her life…this was the only way she knew how to live.

Until she turned fourteen.

"Hyuga Hinata?" Stein said with an arch of his brow as he looked at his class list and then back up into the seats. His eyes scanned the room with a bored look until he found a girl with her hand raised high over her head. She was a tiny little thing, her short hair looked like she had just been rolled out of bed. She sat there in a dark red top that had long sleeves that covered her hands and came down under her bottom. She also had a dark blue band around her middle, coming up right under her bust. She also wore white tights and knee-high combat boots. "Hm…" he shrugged and called out other names.

Hinata put her arm back down and opened up one of her notebooks to be sure that she could take proper notes to pass the class she was enrolled in for some reason. But she would do whatever her mother asked of her; she only wanted to make her mother happy. Hinata rubbed her eyes since she was very tired from not having a very good night sleep. She was plagued by screaming nightmares back at her days back home. Not all of her mother's kids could handle the life and were so weak. And then the face of every human she had to look into. Hinata tilted her head as she looked up at Stein…her teacher. She could have sworn that she had heard of him before. The book before her was so big and she was expected to read it at some point or another.

What was the worst part though, was that Hinata was surrounded by meisters and weapons.

And she was so hungry.

"Oh," she said lightly as she went to her bag. She pulled out one of the many snacks that was packed for her. She happily munched on some baked chips.

"Excuse me," Hinata was pulled from her eating and listening when she looked back to see a boy dressed in all black with a scull accessories and three white strips on one side of his hair. He glared at her as he clutched his pencil tight in one hand. "Some of us are trying to learn." Hinata blinked a few times and then turned back forward and continued to eat her chips as if he hadn't said anything. The boy ground his teeth, "Sir!" He stood and glared as Stein looked up from his dissection. "Can we please stress the rules of not eating and being an annoying bother!?"

"Shut up Kidd," a white haired boy said. His feet up were on the desk and a smirk on his face. "She's new and already showing that she is smarter than you." He laughed as he put his hands behind his head. He then received a hard smack in the back of the head with a book. "What the hell Maka?!"

"You need to pay attention the most out of anyway." She said with a sigh and then looked to Hinata and Kidd. "Just explain it to her like an adult instead of being a whiny baby Kidd." She shook her head and sat back down.

"Hey, if she gets to eat in here, then I get to eat too!" Blackstar yelled with a pout.

"Blackstar," Tsubasa whispered with a worried look. "Please lower your voice; there is no need to yell."

"You're all making this class drag on longer," Liz groaned as her top half was basically on her desk.

"I made a crane!" Patty stood and showed off the paper crane that she had spent the whole class making. She smiled brightly as her sister and Kidd groaned and pinched the bridges of their noses.

Hinata only continued to eat and stare at the dissected body still on the desk. It was funny to see someone so nicely cut open and showed off for other people to see. Usually, no one ever wanted to see something so vile and disgusting. There was nothing more terrible than to see a body torn open with all the organs hanging out. She blinked a few more times and looked to Stein; he was staring right at her and she just stared back.

"You are odd, Hyuga," Stein said lightly as he stood straight. "Next time, bring food that doesn't make that much of a sound and I think that would be enough to keep Kidd quiet for the rest of the year." He smirked as a few of the other students laughed lightly, but Hinata still ate with no change in expression or even thought to the whole thing. She was just so interested on the face that belonged to the thing on the table. She remembered that look…

She grabbed her next snack and began to eat again.

Even after class she was munching on some apple slices; Hinata had a deep love of apples. She would to be sure that she thanked her companion about packing her food for her. She always thanked her and her companion would just laugh and tell Hinata that she didn't have to thank her. Hinata would thank her anyway.

"Uh," Hinata stopped when the blonde haired girl, Maka Albarn, walked up in front of her with a small smile. Hinata stood there, an apple slice held up to her lips. "Hello, I'm Maka Albarn. Welcome to the Academy." She held out her hand and Hinata looked at her hand and then back into the girls green eyes. The blonde slowly pulled her hand back and held her books to her chest. "Would…Would you like a tour?"

Hinata tilted her head as she wondered what the girl was doing. Why was she suddenly so interested in her? Hinata was new, but that didn't meant that she was used to this treatment. She was supposed to be tested for strength and dependence. That was what everyone did with new faces. Why was Maka being so nice to her so soon?

"Why are you bugging the new girl Maka?" Soul asked as he walked up and stood against the wall. "We have better things to be doing anyway. Lord Death says that he has some more work set up and I'm getting so close to getting that witch soul."

"Witch?" Hinata suddenly piped in with bright eyes. The witch soul…everyone was craving for a witch soul and she had no idea why? Who was able to kill a witch, let alone get close enough to gaze upon all their glory?

"Duh," Soul scoffed and rolled his eyes. "It's the only way to make a Death Weapon, and you're looking at the next one." He pointed to himself with his thumb and gave a smug smile. Hinata looked him over and felt her fingers give a twitch as she stuffed the apple slice into her mouth.

Maka gave her chop and glared at the white haired boy on the ground. "You idiot! Don't go around being a jerk to everyone just because you lack any manners." She then looked back at Hinata with a smile. "Don't mind my idiot partner. He has the brain size of a nut."

"You're a meister?" Hinata asked, suddenly taking a step over Soul and getting right in Maka's space, their faces very close to one another. "What is your weapon?" She asked as Maka blushed red at how close the girl was to her and how she looked utterly adorable with such big lavender eyes.

"I'm her weapon," Soul stood up and rubbed his head. He pulled Maka a step back away from Hinata, a small glare in his eyes. "Soul Evans, next Death Scythe."

"A Scythe," Hinata repeated as she looked at them both. She ate another slice and nodded. "I am Hyuga Hinata," she bowed and then turned to walk away. "Until another time." She said as she walked away and decided that it was time to get home and report in what has happened, not knowing that Maka still continued to stare with a soft look in her eyes.

Hinata lived on the outskirts of the town, away from all the nosy people that would want to get into the neighbors business. She ate the whole way there, still hungry by the time she made it to the front door. She patted her pockets to find that she had no key, but she was sure that she left the house without one to begin with. She gave one hard knock and then waited without a thought in the world.

The door opened and a red headed girl, only fifteen, stood there with a smirk on her face and glint in her eyes. "You are later than usual," she said lightly as she fixed black-rimmed glasses. She stepped aside and Hinata walked in without a word. She dusted off black shorts and a black tang-top as Hinata took off her shoes and set them in the spot made for her school things. "I was almost worried about you." She spoke up again and followed Hinata into the kitchen. Hinata was going through the fridge. "I am the one that is to take care of you…not that you ever care." She said as her smile began to drift away as Hinata sat on the floor by the fridge with a bag of grapes in her arms. "I guess I should be glad that you aren't as annoying as Crona…I would kill him before he got the chance to live here." She glared as Hinata only ate. She opened up her mouth to say something, but an idea came. Her smile slowly came back, only far more wicked as she walked over to a locked cabinet and pulled out a blacked out jar. "Hinata," she said softly to the blue haired girl. Hinata glanced up, but dropped the bag when she saw what her companion held in her hands.

A bright blue soul.

Hinata scrambled to her feet, but stopped when her companion held up her hand. "You lost your manners," she teased as Hinata just stared at the soul and swallowed the grapes she had in her mouth. "Put away the food, please," she said and giggled when Hinata quickly did as she was told. She stood by the fridge. "You know what I want to hear Hinata."

"I love you Karin-chan," she said perfectly. Her tone was finally something that Karin could enjoy. It took a lot of training to get Hinata to sound like that. Ever since they were young, Karin has had to watch Hinata since the girl was blinded by her own loyalty, obedience, and sick addiction. It was because Medusa fed a young Hyuga Hinata nothing but innocent souls since she was young, making the girl dependent on them. It wouldn't kill her if she didn't eat them, but her love of them made it all the easier for Medusa to train her little daughter just right. Karin had been found by Medusa when she was just two. And at four, Medusa brought in the little three-year-old Hyuga to live with them.

And at thirteen, Karin knew that the Hyuga was hers. They weren't sisters, they didn't even refer to each other's as sisters. Hinata always called Medusa mother, but that was because she didn't know better, even when everyone told her that Medusa was not her real mother. Hinata clung to the woman and called her mother without hesitation. Karin always saw Medusa as her teacher. She was the sensei and Karin was just a student. She had to become the best, and with Hinata, Karin was the best. She was far better than the abomination that Crona was and she liked to be sure that he knew it. Karin and Hinata started weapon training so young that it was like a well-rehearsed dance now. They knew all the styles, tricks, and even basic timing on how to make the best out of a kill. Or a fight.

Karin smiled at her and motioned her over. Hinata quickly went over and embraced Karin without a thought. Karin took the moment for all that it was; as far as she knew, it was all real and not some trained trick. Hinata wasn't a pet, but she was obedient like one. "Ah," Karin said as she used her free hand to tilt back Hinata's head. Hinata's eyes were wide as she opened up her mouth, freshly coated with salvia. Karin gently placed in the sweet soul, her smile growing as if she had eaten food of the gods and then swallowed. The large lump sliding down her throat; Karin lent down and gave her neck a kiss before looking at Hinata, who was blissful. "You must be tired…sleep would be good. Then we can feed you to your fill." Hinata nodded lightly and she led Hinata over to the sofa.

Karin opened up her arms and Hinata crawled onto her so that they could go to sleep together. Karin had took a long time to train Hinata to do that too. She used to sleep and wake up to see that Hinata had moved away from her and sat on the floor; just staring at the wall and drawing on the wall in the black blood that would pour out of her cuts.

"Did you have fun at the Academy?" She asked as she stroked the girl's soft hair.

"No…I have to eat quite foods from now on." Hinata said as she was lying on top of the girl, her head right on Karin's chest. Hinata had her arms around her and closed her eyes.

"I'll pack you delicious quiet foods then Hinata," Karin cooed to her and smiled as the girl slowly began to fall asleep. "And don't worry too much," Karin smiled sweetly, "you don't have to go there for too long…and then you and I can-"

"But I did meet this nice girl," Hinata cut her off and Karin's eyes burst open with shock and hate. "Maka…she was really nice to me…I don't know why though." Hinata closed her eyes as she began to let the idea of sleep take her away for a few hours. It would be a nice; Karin made her sleep with her, like other people, but Hinata didn't need it. She would do as Karin though. Karin was her meister and Hinata did everything that her mother asked of her.

"Maka…" Karin repeated with a glare. No one ever talked to Hinata. Hinata didn't make friends since all she ever needed was her. Sometimes, her and Crona would sit and talk, but Karin was sure that Crona wasn't going to take Hinata away from her anytime soon. "Do you have classes with this…Maka?"

"I don't remember Karin," Hinata said as she was finally falling asleep.

Karin didn't push further, she just lied there and allowed the girl to sleep. She shook her head. No, Karin would not grow worried over some girl that had just talked to her weapon. Hinata knew where her loyalty lied; with Medusa, and then with her. And since Medusa was not here, it was all to Karin.

(Line Break)

"Hey, Hinata!"

The blue haired girl stopped and looked back with more apple slices in a bag. She saw that Maka Albarn was running to catch up with her. It was something that the blonde started doing since their first encounter. And that was a month ago. She would talk to Hinata about classes and help her with homework in the library. She even told Hinata all about the bad souls that they hunted and Hinata felt her chest go tight. They hunt down all the things that Hinata used to see every day. The things that cooed at her and would laugh wickedly as she would work with Karin by getting rid of the people that would hurt the crazy things. She almost wanted to cut Maka down for being so cruel, but Soul Evans was quick to be at her side and keep Hinata away. Hinata and Soul would never talk to one another.

"Hello," Hinata bowed to her and ate another apple slice. Maka laughed lightly as she reached into her bag and pulled out a small bag of cookies. Hinata's eye brightened. Maka baked and always brought something for Hinata to chew on between all her quiet foods. Hinata took one and stuffed it into her mouth.

"I wonder where all this food goes Hinata, you're almost too thin to eat so much."

"Mother says that all the foods I eat go to my breast and hips." She added in as she ate another cookie. Maka face flushed as she kept her eyes straight on the girl and tried not to let them wonder to other regions of the blue haired girl's body. "What is it that you need Maka?"

"Oh," she smiled at her, "I was wondering if you wanted to come with all of us to grab drinks and hang out…you know?"

"No," Hinata answered bluntly as she shook her head. "Where will you hang from? And drinks would be difficult if you need both hands to hold yourself up."

Maka laughed lightly, "Do you not know anything?" She wiped her eyes and looked to her softly. "We are all going to sit around together and be friends, and I want you to come with."

Now, that was something new to Hinata. To be invited into a group of people she knew nothing about and that didn't need to be told by anyone else to talk to her. And Maka wanted them all to be friends. And Hinata didn't have friends. She had siblings, like Crona. And Karin said that she was Hinata's lover and meister, but Hinata knew for sure that Karin was her meister. And then there was her mother, and Hinata would never question that. She looked back to Maka and nodded without much thought. She did not have friends, and she was unsure if they were something needed to exist. But Maka had been nice to her, like Karin was nice and Karin made sure that Hinata learned to be just as nice back.

"Great," Maka smiled and grabbed her hand. Hinata felt that Maka's hand was warm and nice to hold in her cold one. She was led out to the front doors and Maka talked as she walked the whole way to where ever she wanted to go. She held on tight to her food and thought back that Karin was still at home and was probably making something really good before they went out hunting for the night. "You'll love it, the place has really good food to and Soul can take care of your tab," she added with a laugh and Hinata felt her cheek twitch as the blonde smiled at her.

Maka had a pretty smile for an ignorant meister.

All that she missed about the world that would make her so powerful.

Hinata just allowed herself to be led through the city streets until she and Maka stopped before a rather nice building with sweet smells coming out of it. She almost went past Maka to get to the food indoors, but then she saw all the other meisters and their weapons. And that meant Soul was there and angry to see her. She glared as the white haired weapon looked at her and glared when he noticed that Hinata was there. Hinata could not stand Soul, everything about him was wrong.

He was probably the reason that Maka was so weak. She had a shit weapon.

Hinata looked around to be sure that Karin did not hear her swear; Karin hated it when Hinata wanted to swear, and really mad when Hinata actually swore.

"Stop it you jerk," Maka said with a frown when she saw Soul glaring at the girl. "Don't glare at her."

"Why is she even here?" Soul asked with a huff as Hinata stood more behind the blonde with a glare. "This was supposed to be a friend thing."

"Hinata is my friend so get over it," she said with a scoff as she walked past him and Hinata stuck to her side. Hinata stuck out her tongue at Soul and glared.

"She's still glaring at me!" Soul yelled back with a deep frown. He hated the girl and Maka wouldn't even give him the chance to explain why he hated her so much. Soul could have sworn that Maka had fell for the girl's pretty face; just like everyone else did.

"Hey Hinata!" Patty yelled with a bright smile as she bounced up to the girl. Hinata had to keep from pushing her off when she was embraced. Karin never liked when Hinata would flinch and try to get away, so she assumed it was the same for other people. "You want to try some of my cake?"

Hinata nodded and left Maka to stand there as she followed the loud twin.

Maka stood there and watched with a smile as Hinata was interacting with the other; she didn't do it well, but she was at least doing something. The girl was naïve and blunt, but it was charming in its own way. She just stood there, even when Kidd came up to her.

"She's a weapon," he said calmly as he crossed his arms over his chest.

"You looked at her soul?" Maka asked with a bit of bite; of course Kidd had done it.

"It's just like any other soul, but its wave pattern is something I have never seen before…it's unnerving."

"How so?" She asked as she focused on the girl and slowly allowed her eyes to shift. She and Kidd stared at the group as they shared sweets and spoke around her.

Hinata's soul was rather…quiet in a way. It remained still within her being and almost looked to have a little tail. Even its eyes were closed as it had the look of…nothing. Like it felt nothing. The oddest thing was that it was an odd purple color. "It looks normal," she whispered lightly.

"But look at it…it is too relaxed in a way. It pulses energy that you think it was hooked up to a machine." He sighed. "Keep a distance."

"She is nice." Maka defended. "Maybe she has not found anyone to sync with. I mean, there are only so many meisters to go around and tons of weapons out there. She came to the academy like the rest of us did."

"Maybe you are just too busy staring at her to see past her looks," Kidd shot back as Maka turned a light pink. "Even BlackStar could somewhat guess that you are not looking to make friends with the girl."

"Friends are good," Maka said as she crossed her arms. "So I have no idea what you are talking about." She looked at him, "And what do you care? I still do my job and Soul is this close to becoming a Death Weapon."

"Like I said," he sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. "There is something off about her and you are the only one putting yourself into a dangerous situation."

"You sound like my idiot father," she scoffed.

"Well, maybe you need to listen to someone since your trusting nature for women will get you killed." He shot back and walked over to Patty and Liz; he sat beside them.

Maka only huffed.

And, as the sun began to set…the temperature dropped…rapidly.

"Oh man!" BlackStar jumped onto the table with a big smile. "Can you feel it? Something big is out there waiting for me to catch it! Yaahooo!" He fist pumped and looked to Tsubaki.

"We cannot rush into things," she scolded him lightly as she looked around. "We don't know what it is."

Idiots.

Total idiots.

Hinata couldn't believe that she was going to waste time going to a place that produced idiots. She looked over to Maka…she wasn't being held back by stupid emotions of fear. Just like her mother would say; the weak feared. Hinata stood and walked over the table. "Killer." She said bluntly as she searched her mind. It wasn't one of her mother's. It for sure wasn't a witch. It was just an ugly demon eating delicious things. Her stomach growled as she grabbed another slice of cake and ate.

"You're eating?" Soul looked at her, "now?"

"Hungry," she shrugged as she licked icing off her fingers. "No meister either," she looked back at all of them. "Do something." She stated and gave them all a hard stare. Didn't they care that the demon was eating all the good souls? Idiots.

"Not so fast~!" A large eight legged monster was on the corner of the building across from them. Poison spilling from her sharp fangs and eight eyes staring at all of them. The demon smiled brightly as she licked her teeth and lips. "What delicious treats! I can't wait to rip out your souls!" She jumped for them. And everyone ran.

Except Hinata.

She grabbed another slice of cake.

"Idiots," She said as she watched the spider come down on her. She ate her piece, it was too small away, and just as she was about to attack, someone tackled her out of the way. Hinata felt dizzy when her head hit the concrete. She heard gun fire and that annoying blue haired boy's voice. She focused her gaze up at Maka, who was looking at her with wide eyes. "My cake."

"Forget the stupid cake," Maka got up and looked around to see where her idiot weapon went off to. Soul was trying to fight it off without her. "You just stay there and keep out of trouble."

"The souls-"

"Once you get your meister you can go after all the souls you want, but just stay safe," Maka said as she was forming a plan. It shouldn't be too hard. There were three meisters here anyway. Just as she went to walk away, she felt Hinata grab her hand. Maka looked back at her with a blush; the girl was so cool…literally! They starred at one another and Maka felt a glow.

When Maka realized what was happening, Hinata wasn't holding her hand anymore.

Maka was holding a long staff with a katana part at the end.

"Naginata," Hinata corrected.

Maka had synced with another weapon. A pretty girl weapon. Her blush bloomed a bright red.

"Fight!" Hinata yelled her soul finally opening her eyes.

They were a dark and glowing lavender.

"Holy…" Soul stopped in his tracks. "You're cheating on me!?" He yelled as he watched Maka use another weapon to fight. Badly fight he might add since she had never used another weapon like that. But by the looks of it, she was slowly getting the hang of it. Soul couldn't believe it, out of all the weapons she could sync with, it had to be that one. It had to be Hinata. It had to be the girl he hated with a passion. He could see it from day one. There was something off about her. Her mood, attitude, spirit, even the way she spoke. Or the way that she eyed Maka. She was a meister stealer. Probably syncing with anyone that was convenient. He was seething. He was going to rip that demon apart, and then rip that weapon out of Maka's hands.

Maka, on the other hand, was amazed. She was learning rather well how to work with Hinata. Hell, she might be doing better with her. But that wasn't the point, the point was this demon they had. "Can you find a weak spot?" She asked Hinata as she skidded back.

"Hit harder." Hinata couldn't understand. Karin would have gotten this down quicker. Was Maka really as bad as she thought? Hinata thought, maybe with a smart weapon like her, Maka would step up, but her soul was all wrong. It was bright and pretty and gross. That was the soul of someone who feared. It was too kind and too much. Karin had a soul that was a fighter. It was big and controlled better than Maka's; its why Hinata had so many different abilities when she was in Karin's hold, but now Hinata was just a naginata with Maka. "Too slow. Faster and harder."

"Let's try a surprise attack!" BlackStar shouted as she came down from above. It swatted him away like a fly

"Don't yell it out moron!" Kidd yelled with a groan as he took cover behind the turned over table. "Maka, the left! Star, the right!" He then thought for a moment. "Soul! Try and keep it occupied!"

"Oh great!" Soul yelled with a glare as he dodged each attack from the spider demon. "I get to play bait!"

"Don't worry," It laughed it spat poison at him. "You'll make the perfect appetizer!"

"Don't you dare hurt Soul!" Maka yelled as she used the blunt side of the blade to smack the demon right on the head. Its head gave a loud crack and Maka was quick to jump back as BlackStar dug his sickle weapon into its side. The demon cried out when Black Star yanked hard enough to get rid of a leg. Kidd fired seven more rounds. Leaving the thing unable to move. Soul was the one to finish it off.

"Yaaahooo!" BlackStar yelled as Tsubaki came back to her human form. "It's all yours Tsubaki!"

"Like hell it is," Liz said as she put her hands on her hips. "Patty and I took out the damn thing."

"No," Soul shot back, "I'm the one that killed it."

"Not without our help you little runt."

"Who you callin' runt!?"

"Guys…don't fight...please?"

"Get 'im Liz! Aim for the face!"

Maka sighed as she watched them all fight for the soul, but Hinata was the only one silent. Surely, someone who had no meister to work with would want the chance to get one soul in them. She watched as the blue haired girl used a stick to poke at the red soul, looking utterly irritated and ready to bite.

And Hinata was confused at this thing. It wasn't blue. Cause it was all bad inside and out. That's why there were people, like all of them, to go out and fight all the demons. Not for any reason more than to try and help all the blue souls. But…what was the point? No one can stop evil. Evil is eternal no matter how much you fight. Someone, something will always be there to challenge the 'good'. Not that Hinata cared much for all the fighting. She only lived to serve and eat. That was her purpose. To do as told and eat her fill. That soul…that spider soul, was tempting in a way, how it jittered and pulsed. She wondered if it was any good. Or maybe it would taste awful because it was awful. So, without much worry, she picked it up. Only to have Soul yank it out of her hands and glare at her. She nearly chopped off his head.

"No way, don't even think you can have it you Weapon whore," he glared at her.

Yeah, Hinata was going to rip out his soul and eat it, no matter what it tasted like.

"Whore?" Now that was a word that Karin used. Never as harsh as Soul, but it didn't make the word sound any more appealing.

"Yes, whore. Syncing up with anyone that is available. Maka is my Meister and you can go and find your own." He said and huffed. "And get your own souls while you're at it."

Hinata huffed. She was only doing what had to be done. And Maka is the only one that looked capable enough. She shrugged and walked over to Maka. She nearly forgot her practice. Karin always had a routine for everything and got made when Hinata didn't do as she was taught. "Perfect," she recited and then leaned up and gave Maka and kiss. She didn't respond like Karin did, but that didn't matter. She had to do it and she felt bad for the weapons that forgot to do it for their meister. Only, she was sure that Maka wouldn't give her a tasty soul, so, she would go home and tell Karin she remembered her lessons and earned her soul that night. "Goodbye," she said and walked off back home. Maybe there would still be dinner.

Maka stood there with a big smile and her face a tomato red. The others were staring, Soul mostly in shock and Kidd with disapproval.

Nothing good would come out of that.

Karin was not sure on what she was going to do about all the pesky meisters trying to make Death Weapons. Medusa made it clear that they were to only observe, but after a quick proposal, Medusa was tempting to give those kids, Stein, and Death himself a bit of trouble. Karin was eager to give it a try, not to mention that one of their souls would have to make Hinata far stronger than before. Something darker.

"Crona!" Karin yelled as she stood in the kitchen, packing away extra food for the weapon. "We're heading out!"

"Crona doesn't have to do anything you say, bitch!" Ragnorok yelled back as Crona slowly came down the steps. "I have more important things for him to be doing!" He held Crona's head and glared at Karin.

"Stop it Ragnorok," Crona whined as he stood and looked at the floor. "I can't handle all the yelling right now." He glanced up at Karin and then back to the floor. "We have to listen…she's Medusa's favorite." He said sadly and kicked at the ground.

"That's right," Karin smirked at him and Ragnorok growled at her. "We are going into the city for soul hunting…a lot of soul hunting."

"But they'll notice us-"

"I know that!" Karin shot back as Crona crouched down into a ball. "That's the point Crona. We are going to give them something more to worry about. Those little brats want to think all they have to do is worry about that witch soul...oh no…." she laughed and put her pack on. "It's time for a reality check." She walked over to him and pulled him up by the back of his shirt. "Now listen well Little Crona," she said with a glare and frown. "You be sure to keep your little weapon out of my way. Let him eat all that he wants and that you both don't come back dead." She smiled up at Ragnorok, who had a big grin. "And no one is to kill those little brats; I want to scar them so they know that even their precious Death is ready to take them to the underworld."

"What…What will you be doing, Miss Karin?" Crona asked as he followed her out the door.

"I am going to treat my weapon for being so perfect," she smiled as she looked to Hinata, who was sitting at the side of the road and looking at some road kill. "Oh Hinata, my love," she cooed as the girl craned her neck to look at her. "We are leaving to go to the big city to get more souls just for you." She giggled as Hinata gave a big creepy smile with her eyes big. Hinata got up and walked over to her. Karin opened up her arms and the blue haired girl embraced her. Hinata leaned up and gave her a light kiss. "But you have to promise me Hinata," Karin still smiled, but her voice dripped with venom, "if we see those little school mates of yours, you have to know that you can never go back and that they are nothing more than…"

"Idiots," Hinata finished as she clutched Karin's shirt. "All of them. Idiots…especially stupid Maka Albarn."

"Perfect." Karin smiled big and Hinata just held on to her. "Crona," she shot back to the boy, who jumped as he closed the door. "If you lose control of that weapon, I will kill you myself." She threated and she lightly motioned Hinata to let go. Hinata walked one step behind her as they walked off. "Alright my love, Crona," she began as they walked off towards the train station. "Get ready to spill some blood."

Crona, Hinata, and Ragnorok all gave big smiles.

Hinata could finally admit to having fun. All her classes were boring; the tests were hard because all it was about was all the boring stuff in classes. Her peers were stupid. Soul was getting this close to becoming a splattered mess on the wall, and Maka was making her stomach hurt. Karin told her that it was because the blonde was so useless and weak that it made Hinata very sick. But Hinata knew that couldn't be is since she didn't get sick. No, what she felt was a little like how she felt with Karin. Karin was soft and warm and giving. Maka was just soft and warm. What she gave to Hinata was just that odd feeling. Especially when she would pull Hinata away from school crowds and awkwardly ask for another kiss. And Hinata always gave her one because she expected to be given her soul. Like Karin would. But Maka would just flush red, stutter, and kiss her again and again. Hinata wanted it to stop, but she figured sooner or later, Maka would give her all the souls she owed her.

But one time, Maka did pay her the souls she earned. But these souls were red and tasted different than the blue ones. Almost bitter. She ate them all though. Soul was too busy with other things, so Maka asked Hinata to train with weapon usage, but they were attacked. Hinata would attracted demons looking for powerful souls, like her own. They spent the whole night fighting and Hinata would offer up what to do since Maka was so confused when using her weapon form. Maka was not good at it, but Hinata did most of the work. They worked together. For fulfilling souls. Delicious souls from syncing and fighting.

Karin told her that was how it worked. She also said that Hinata could only do it with her, but Hinata would get so hungry at school and what Karin did not know would never hurt her. But, maybe she would stop…until Maka presenting her souls first before asking for the stupid kisses. Hinata wondered what Karin and Maka found so enjoyable. Maka would close her eyes and hold her while Karin would look like she savored the kiss and then tell Hinata that they would now nap together. Like lovers did. Maka never asked for stupid stuff like that. Maka wanted to do other things that Karin did with her. Hold hands, go out, make her real human food, and a lot of touching, but Karin called her 'lover'. Maka just called her by her given name. So it had to be different reasons?

But why worry over stupid emotional odd things that Karin told her to ignore anyway.

Hinata cut down two other people.

How they yelled and ran faster than she thought they could. How some fought and other found weapons. It was exciting to witness and defeat them all.

Hinata came back to her human form as Karin picked up a few of the souls and looked them over with distain. "Those little brats should be here by now…unless that idiot got all the attention again." She growled loudly and then just let Hinata eat at all of the souls. Her body would shiver and shake as she swallowed each one; sometimes she would chew and others she would nearly inhale each one. Karin looked down at the girl and that small little ounce of sadness rippled through her as Hinata ate the last one and just stood there. She was so still and tense, with her eyes wide as she starred up at the sky. Her eyes almost looked to grow darker in color. She was losing herself…and the more that she ate the faster she would just be nothing more than a weapon with two instincts: to kill and to eat.

She would lose her little Hinata and she would be nothing more than someone who took orders.

"Hinata," she said softly as Hinata slowly looked at her, with those big eyes. "Are you ready to head out?" Hinata gave an odd smile, her eyes slowly easing back to a normal size. She took more of a chance and walked up to the girl and took her hand. "We still have more fighting. More souls will come if we fight more." Karin smiled at her. "I love you."

Hinata looked down at their hands and then back up at her. She looked confused. She didn't know what to say to her and that wasn't like Hinata. She was trained perfectly to be with Karin and show her the affection she wanted. But now, Hinata was trying to figure out who she was beside at the moment. "Karin?" She asked, knowing that she had heard the name before.

"Yes…" she responded, staring deep into her eyes.

Hinata nodded. She remembered. Her mind was so cloudy and black sometimes that she would just forget who she was. She didn't want to forget. She had to remember so much. The people, the food, the studies, the demons, the drinks. Hinata didn't want to forget. "I…I love you too?"

"Good girl."

Hinata nodded and before she could take Karin's hand and get to work on some more soul catching. A man jumped down from a top a building and shooting at them. Karin and Hinata both jumped away and glared at the boy.

"I should have known," Death the Kidd stood there with a glare as he pointed at each girl with the guns cocked. "You were bad news since the beginning."

"The son of Death," Karin said with a laugh as she stood straight and put her hands on her hips. She laughed, "They thought that you would be enough to take on us?" She sighed loudly and then looked at her nails. "Well, come on now," she motioned to him, "shoot."

"Do not tempt me beast," he glared and then Patty came out from her gun form and pushed Kidd out of the way as Hinata came down with a blade coming out of her feet. Karin jumped away from the three (Liz came out of her form when she was dropped).

"We gotta go Kidd!" Patty yelled with concern. "She is too evil. Her soul is scary and she'll eat us!"

"Calm down," Kidd said as he got to his feet and grabbed Liz's hand, turning her back into a gun and was ready and aimed at Karin, who was now wielding Hinata as a staff with blades on both ends. "We are going to do this."

"And I was hoping that they would send that little blonde homewrecker." Karin said as she spun around the weapon and aimed at the male. "Loved to see the look on her face when she sees us."

"You just have to worry about me," he said as Patty went into her weapon form. "What you two have done…will not go without judgement and punishment."

"If we kill him. Death will be on us personally. Mother does not want such attention." Hinata spoke as she starred down Kidd. "I do not want to have to worry about the Death Weapons and their Meisters."

"Alright, son of Death." Karin said as Hinata's weapon form began to spark with electricity. "How about we see if what you claim will be true?" She laughed and lunged at him.

Hinata wasn't very aware of the fight, only of what Karin demanded of her. She would use her powers, her skills, and just activated as need be. That what was great about Karin as a Meister. Karin knew how to use a weapon to the fullest. She knew that was why mother had paired her with Karin. Hinata was the best weapon and Mother wanted her to be put to good use.

She remembers going through two other meister's before Karin. First there was a girl who had bright pink hair and pretty green eyes. She was too nice to Hinata. Mother didn't like that she would coddle Hinata and hold her when she was hurt. The pink haired girl tried to stop, but she would cry when Hinata would bleed from failed fights. Mother sent that girl away with another weapon that was weak.

Then came the boy with tired eyes and long dark haired pulled up in a ponytail. He was far better than the pink haired girl, but he ruined Hinata. Every demand, every activation, and every swing he would kill the target Mother set up for him and her, but when Hinata came back out of her weapon form, she was bruised, tired, and hungry. Mother thought it Hinata too weak. But the boy did it with every weapon he was given. His soul was strong and forced the weapon to obey. To its fullest. Mother watched as he broke two other weapons and decided that he was not good for Hinata. She could not be broken so soon.

Then Karin came along.

Hinata was pulled from her thoughts when she was forced out of her weapon from and lunged at Kidd. He was knocked down by the force. She straddled his waist and held onto his head. She starred right into his eyes. He looked panicked and afraid as she clutched his head so tight in her hands.

She waited for the command.

Karin Commanded.

The Lazy boy forced.

The Pink Girl asked.

Maka…Maka just fought alongside Hinata.

Maka was not as good as the others. But when the two fought together, Hinata was able to contribute to the fight with her own thought. They spoke to one another. Every fight was getting better. Hinata was not just a weapon, she was a fighter.

"Get off of Kidd you bitch."

Hinata didn't move when she felt two fingers pointed at her head, like it mimicked a gun. She just turned her head so that Liz was pointing right between her eyes and glaring at her. She looked to see that Patty was holding Karin down. Karin looked to have a broken ankle.

"Do not kill me," Hinata said as she still held Kidd's head. "Or I will snap his neck."

"You wouldn't…or I kill the red head. And what good is a weapon without a meister?"

"Fine," Hinata let go of his head and stood. Liz grabbed her arm and pulled her away, pushing her towards Karin as Patty stood and went over to Kidd's side.

"We cannot let them get away," Kidd grunted as he stood and Hinata lifted Karin up to lean against her. "Run, and I will shoot you both."

"We are leaving and never coming back," Hinata said as Karin tried to still look strong and tall. "Goodbye son of Death."

"I am not bluffing," he said as he grabbed Liz, but she did not turn or change. "Liz!"

"Kidd," she said softly, "she will kill us. You cannot fight anymore and Patty and I are not able to either." She watched as Hinata began to back away with Karin. "If you ever come back, I will end with you both. Do you hear me!?"

"We will have to wait and see," Hinata said back and the two walked away.

Kidd huffed and looked between the two. "We never saw them."

"What?" Patty yelled with large eyes. "We just pretend we never almost died and they might kill us later?!"

"We fought some demons, sent by a witch, we did not see Hinata or her Meister. No one but Death needs to know. No one is to tell Maka." And then the other two understood what he was saying. If anyone but Death and they knew, then Maka would know. And it would ruin her. It would destroy her and her will to fight.

"We fought a demon."

"Who must have been sent by a witch?"

"Perfect." Death the Kidd said before he turned and limped off. There was nothing left for them there. It would be a long night before they got back home, but at least they already had a plan.

Death Note: First Date

Hinata Hyuga was just a college student and she was not really keen to the school since she was in boring Advance Placement classes, business, economic, advertisement, but she snuck in a few art and music classes her past two years and got one of each this year. It was really the only thing that kept her sane, that and her job at the book store. She just wanted to get through college without pulling out all her hair.

It took her way to long to grow it all out.

"Miss Hyuga," her professor said as she was about to walk out. "I was wondering if you would like to take part in one another of my psychology classes." She smiled at the college junior. "All about criminal mindsets and an element of deduction."

"When is it?" She asked with a new found excitement. She loved all her psychology classes, she would happily take another and drop that boring lawyer class her father persuaded her into trying.

"Every Friday from three to six in the afternoon," she said as she put her things away to get to her next lesson. "Stop by and if you like it, we can talk to a counselor to change up your schedule before everything is set in stone."

Hinata nodded and bowed to her teacher before leaving to go grab something to eat in the cafeteria; she would then have to head to the library for some books for a report. She hated going to the library alone since she would just be surrounded by so many people she didn't know or did not really like to be around. Like….

"Hello Hello Hina-chan~!" Misa ran to catch up with her. Misa dressed over the top again in her gothic Lolita style, making Hinata feel really inadequate in comparison to her. Misa had long blonde hair, peachy skin, and the greatest taste in fashion and clothes making. She went to school for a fashion degree but also modeled on the side. She was recruited at a young age to model and it just stuck with her. Misa befriends Hinata because they both took an art history class and Misa was tutored by Hinata in it. And then they both discovered they lived in the same apartment building and Hinata got the chance to move into Misa's bigger apartment, even get the master bedroom and a lower rent. She later found out that the landlord was a fan of Misa.

"Hello Misa-san," she nodded her head to her and they walked together. "I thought you had a big shoot today?"

"I did, I just got back," she smiled lightly. "I thought about going back home, but I wanted to grab lunch with you. And then see if Light-kun will finally go on a date to that cute little café down the way." She sighed dreamily and giggled. Hinata only smiled as she thought back to the man she had never really met but just heard about. Misa talked about Light Yagami like he was some kind of new god.

"Well I am heading over right now," she said with a light smile. "It's also a bento day." She said more to herself; it was her favorite to get the half priced bentos that were rather good. They reminded her of home when Kō used to make her lunches for school.

"I actually made one of those for Light today," Misa said with a smile as she reached into her bag and pulled out the nicely prepared bento. "You know Hina-chan," she said as they walked into the cafeteria, "maybe I can convince Light to help me set you up and we can do a double date."

"Thank you, but no." She said with a curt nod. Hinata and Misa walked into the cafeteria side by side.

"Light-kun!" Misa sang as she quickly parted from Hinata, who continued on to buy her lunch. She usually always lost Misa whenever she wanted to get lunch with Hinata. She always thought she could call Misa a friend, but only when it was convenient for Misa.

Hinata was about to grab a bento, but another hand grabbed her first and pulled her over to the dessert bar. Hinata sighed as she was forced to stand there while another of the student she knew who only ate sweets and drank tea. She glanced over to the male that was staring at all the treats, probably trying to figure out how many he was going to eat in each sitting. She just waited, getting real used to that too.

"How about chocolate cake today Hyuga-chan?" The male asked lightly as he looked up at her. "Oh, there is actually cheesecake out today."

"I would like to eat real food for lunch L-kun." Hinata said with a small smile as he began to pick out desserts. Hinata walked over to another fridge and pulled out a salad before she walked back over for a cheesecake. "You should also try some real food."

"Then I would not have any room for all this cake." He said as he leaned against her and put his head on her shoulder. "If I also buy cheesecake, will you feed it to me?"

"May I please leave L-kun?" She looked down at him as he starred at all the desserts. "I must eat before my next class."

"I can catch you up on your business class later. You can meet me in the lobby of the dorm house. I'll even bring you dinner."

"You'll bring me more sweets," she smiled lightly as she nudged him off and bowed to him. "Until another time L-kun…" she went over to the register as L just watched her walk off. He took in her whole figure with keen eyes and burned it into his memories for another time. He could not believe that it didn't work…again. He did not understand what he was doing wrong. Light had a pretty girlfriend and he never did anything. He was actually trying and he got nothing. L sighed and grabbed his desserts, but he suddenly lost his hunger. L didn't bother paying and the woman behind the register just sighed and shook her head.

L was an interesting student at the university and was able to do about whatever he wanted because he was 'gifted'. The university begged him to go there, he made speeches, lectures, worked on theories about criminal minds, and even wrote a paper on who Jack the Ripper must have been. No one was able to confirm, but he heard people online were behind him. He traveled the word, attended multiple academies, and even scouted for other gifted students. He had a few apprentices but he liked none of them and just wanted Hinata Hyuga's attention. It was all he really cared about at the moment and it was his number one goal. L was scolded by his tutors, teachers, even his care taker about the fact he focused less on his thesis papers and more on the girl. L even took an art class so that he could gain a common interest with the girl. He took finances in hopes that he could work in the Hyuga Company to get close to her.

But there he was, walking out to the quad to sleep under the trees and eat desserts until he had to go to his next class.

(Line Break)

Hinata stood outside of the Psychology 335: Criminal Analysis. She had to call Misa and tell her that she wouldn't be home until later since she was going to try and take an extra class. Misa would like to wait up for her and Hinata didn't want to keep the girl up; Misa had a full time career and went to school. Hinata knew the girl would need sleep. She walked into the class room and as she walked down to get a seat in the front of the room, she was pulled into a seat. Hinata looked over and blushed when she saw L was sitting in the seat next to her own. "Sit here."

"I like to be up front," she said with a smile and stood back up. "I hear better and can see the board better-"

"You have perfect vision," he said dully.

"Why don't you sit up front with me?" She offered and motioned him to follow. "You can introduce me to the class." Just as she finished he was already standing beside her and had his arm around her waist. She blushed and sighed lightly as he led her up to the front row, dead center of the class. L would avoid such areas since the other students were rather close by. But if it was for the Hyuga girl, L would do whatever she asked of him. "See," she said as they sat beside one another. His bag was at his feet but he only pulled out a text book while Hinata just pulled out a note bad to take notes. "It must be nice to be gifted."

"Not really," he said as he pulled her closer to his side, "you don't like me any more than you do."

"I like you," she said. It wasn't a lie either. Hinata did hold a bit of an affection for the man; he was good looking. Other than that she didn't know much about him then what could be read in newspapers, magazines, and in his own papers. He was a prodigy and had a thing for sweets.

"I want you to like me more."

"How can I do that?" She asked lightly as she began to doodle on her note pad and sat criss cross on her seat. "We both do sit oddly though," she laughed lightly.

"Sitting like this increases my brain activity by 47%," he defended and looked to her. "What about if we dated?"

"We talked about that. We are never free."

"I can make time for it. I can just drop out and I can work around your schedule." He said as other students began to fill in. "Easy."

"You cannot just drop out L-kun; that would be a waste." She said lightly as she looked to him. "And we really don't have a lot in common either. We have nothing to talk about-"

"We are both intelligent. Our compatibility is nearly at 52.7855%. And we know so little about each other personally that we have plenty to talk about." He said with a nod and just watched as she smiled and went back to her notebook. "You have to agree with me on that. You are far too intellectual to not to."

"I do agree, we would have a lot to talk about, but who is to say that either of us would enjoy the others answers on our life story." Hinata said as she looked to him and gave a sympathetic smile. "And you are on your way to another thesis right?" She asked lightly, "You will soon be surrounded by other intellectual people that would interest you far more than you think I do."

"No one could compare to you," he grabbed her hand and held it close to him. Hinata blushed a bright red and tried to pull at her hand back. He just brought her hand to his mouth and placed a light kiss. "No matter where my work takes me, I will always come back to you."

"You are embarrassing me," she looked away and L could only smile lightly at her.

And Light Yagami was sure that he must have had some bad sushi for lunch because it had to be a hallucination. Was that Lawliet "L" Ryuuzaki kissing the hand of a pretty girl? Was she blushing? Was he actually flirting with a girl? He just stood in the doorway looking at the two. He only looked in that direction because that was where he would sit. But there he saw some new girl and L kissing her hand.

"Take a seat Light," the Psychology professor said as she walked in behind Light, who was now pulled away from his thoughts. "We have new cases, new interviews, new evidence, and a very new investigator," she said with a smile as she waved to Hinata. Hinata quickly yanked her hand away from L and placed them on her lap. He frowned but faced forward. He knew that she would not want to be distracted from this class. Light walked over and sat on the other side of the new girl. "Everyone, this is Hinata Hyuga, she will be giving this class a try and she will hopefully then decide to enroll."

"You should," L said with wide eyes and Hinata was trying not to laugh; he looked like a little kid. "I can catch you up on everything we have covered. Over cake and tea….at my place." Hinata sweat dropped; a childlike look to hide away the twenty-two-year-old man underneath.

"Thank you for the offer…let's see if I can handle the class first." Hinata said lightly as their professor began to the lecture with an overview.

"You can, your chances are over 89.235% of comprehension of material." He informed in hopes to convince her to take the class. This is how he would build on the little interaction they had.

Light was baffled. This girl…had turned his academic rival into a love-sick fool. He looked at her and tried to figure what the hell she was doing. Her looks? Kind of in the way that L used to have a thing for Misa…but this girl was a little softer. Misa's beauty was loud for the world to admire and enjoy. Hinata Hyuga had a beauty that was very quiet and sincere, people would miss it if they didn't give the time to look. He was so busy looking at the girl that he finally noticed that he had missed the overview and the first look of evidence of the first case. He quickly began to push his focus back on the lesson or have to make up time later on in his free time. L was even more focused about the lesson because (as Light could assume) Hinata Hyuga was writing every important note information that was stated. Light may actually have to get to know this Hinata Hyuga.

Hinata was really trying to focus, but she could feel not only L looking at her, but also the boy sitting on her other side. Gosh was there something with her? Did she not wash her hair recently enough? Once she got back to the apartment she would shower and make sure her clothes were well cleaned. She looked back up at the lecture notes and bit back a gasp when she was met with multiple crime scene photos. Hinata never thought that she was very squeamish, but she was very put off by the whole thing. The man had his torso and abdomen torn open, and it looked like whatever did it, was looking for something in there. But what was odd was that the rest of the room was so clean. She opened her mouth to say something, but someone beat her to the punch.

"Do you have pictures from the location of the attack?" Light asked as he jotted down where to get these photos.

"These are from the crime scene-" the professor began but Hinata raised her hand quickly and both L and Light looked at her. She looked like a confused five-year-old. "Yes, Hyuga?"

"Can…can we see the evidence found also?" She asked lightly and looked over to Light with a small smile. "Just in case something there can explain it." She laughed a bit and looked to see that Light was just staring at her. She cleared her throat and looked back to the Professor.

"Good call Hyuga," she said and looked to Light, "we can't just jump to conclusions without seeing the full story, right?"

Why did he say anything? Light usually never spoke in class. So why now? And why did he also have to sound like an ass? Light just tried to focus on the evidence now since he couldn't make another stupid mistake like that.

L smiled and he watched Hinata scan over every piece of evidence as the Professor explained. He had to admit, she looked so cute when she had her thinking face on; he could hear the cogs turning in her head as she tried to make sense of what had happened from what they knew. It was adorable to watch her to try and put it together…maybe he would get to hear what she thought had happened. "He was moved with that tarp," L pipped in when the room was silent. The professor finally took notice to something. Light and L never really talked unless she made them. The first time they spoke up without needing to be asked is when the same day her favorite student was trying the class. "Wrinkled corners at the bottom half. Blood from the bottom half leaving a trail going towards the body. And why the room was so clean."

"The body was staged," Hinata gasped lightly as she looked at the tarp. "He was torn open, dug through, and moved to be in the center of someone house-"

"That house was brand new," Light spoke up as he turned his phone around to show Hinata and L. "It was listed on a relator's site and seemed to have been bough about two weeks before that happened."

"It was a message to the new home owners." L bit his thumbnail. "Rich, young, newly married."

"And how would you know that," the professor asked with a smile. She was watching something wonderful.

"The house has been personalized," Light said before L could. "Someone had that home designed so that it would fit the taste of a very small group of people. And the house had only been bought two weeks ago. People need money to have someone else come in and that amount of time."

"And all the photos of the couple." L added. "They're young, 23 and 25, and are still in the phase of being overly in love with one another by pictures of them all over the house."

"And she is with child," Hinata said with a blush. "Look down the hall," she pointed to one of the pictures on the screen, "the walls are being re-painted yellow. A gender neutral color and it means that they both just found out."

"Brilliant," L said as he took her hand. "Your skill of deduction is up by at least 5.362% since the last time I checked."

"Thank you," she said slowly and pulled her hands away and put them back in her lap. "But we still don't know why this young, rich, newly married, and pregnant wife were targeted."

"And that is when we bring you to the interviews." The professor pulled up another screen and had about five videos of interviews to show. "I'll also be pausing to give you police reports and anything that may be useful to helping you all diagnose our killer. I would take notes because your report on who, why, how, and diagnoses is due next week."

The rest of the lecture was spent with the three front row students shooting off one another to figure out each cases and mystery. The class finally got a bit more fun. More students spoke up and L and Light started off like their usual show offish self but Hinata quickly shut them up and literally turned around and looked to other students to hear their explanations. The professor was more impressed when Hinata asked the others to move up so she could hear them and something about teams should never be on opposite ends of the room.

She actually brought her class together.

Gosh she hoped the Hyuga would register to her class.

(Line Break)

"Hello Hyuga-san," Light said lightly as he walked beside the girl towards a class they both found out they shared. Hinata was more unaware that Light took any classes like her, but since her first day in the Psychology class, Light had looked for the girl now. She was interesting to listen to…the way that her mind processed information was interesting to say the least. He had tried to work up the nerve to actually talk to her though, but there was always something to get in the way.

Usually just him not wanting to say something that would offend her. Or Misa would be with her and once Light even got close, Misa was all over him, and he knew Misa. She was beautiful, confident, strong, and felt love like a burning fire. He did enjoy her company; she may have not been much for conversation that he enjoyed, but talk about her passions and she was a master in her field. But he knew there was something that just made their relationship hard.

But Misa wanted it to work, and Light was no quitter. So that meant when it came to Misa and Hinata Hyuga, he had to be with Misa instead.

But then there was L.

And it wasn't that he ever tried to attention away from them, but he was just there observing and Light didn't want to be scrutinized by his rival while he was talking to another intellectual equal. Also, watching the man tried to court the woman gave of this weird secondhand embarrassment that he would feel on behalf of either Hinata or L, he could not tell. L didn't look like he was ever discouraged by her rejections…he would just try something else. It was inspiring sometimes.

"Hello Yagami-san," she looked up to him and smiled and then went back to looking ahead. They were walking to a math class. "You seem awfully cheerful today."

He finally had something to talk to her about.

"I actually had something to ask you." He began as he held open the door for her. "I wanted to ask about why you chose a school like this." He said lightly as they walked down to the front row. He also shamefully started sitting by her when he could.

"What do you mean?" She asked lightly as she pulled out a laptop this time. Light had convinced her that taking notes my help, but she wasted so much time writing when she could just get the lecture notes and be more engaged in the actual conversation. So, she finally joined the century and wised up.

"You are the heiress to one of the biggest companies in Japan, you could go to school in any country in the world, why not travel or even go to the top school in Japan?"

"I like it here," she said lightly as she looked out one of the windows. "I can be in a city…but it is not all grey. Big cities with big schools are always so grey and tall buildings so you have to look straight up to see the sky." Hinata glanced to light. "Here, I can still go home, see my friends, and still be my own person." She laughed lightly and looked at her screen. "And this place has the best rotary sushi, I will not give up sushi for a more expensive education." Light couldn't help but chuckle and she giggled. "Why were you so curious? The greatest mind in the world comes here…I assume people flocked to him." She said as she began to typed away and upload the lecture notes. Light frowned at the idea that Hinata came all this way to really study with the 'world's greatest mind'. How classes would fill to the brim that Light would have to wait to register because fans were taking classes with L that Light needed to take to graduate. Even counselors were fed up with fans registering for classes and then dropping out. And the ones that could not get into the school would wait outside just to see L…the World's Greatest Mind. Light just wanted to punch him sometimes.

"Well…some people cannot help but admire others."

"It must be hard," she said lightly as the Professor walked in looking like he ran to class and had the biggest coffee anyone could buy at the nearby café. "Even for Misa…we have triple locks on anything that can be opened."

"I forgot that you were Misa's roommate," he said lightly. "What is it like to live with an icon?"

"She makes the place livable." Hinata whispered as the lights dimmed and the lecture began. "Hot water gone? She makes a challenge on who can take the quickest shower. Power goes out? Misa plans a night of snacks and art." Hinata smiled and nodded. "Nothing can bring that girl down." She glanced to him and smiled, "She must be a wonderful partner."

"Yeah," he said lightly, "she is the best." Hinata nudged him and made a pretend whipping sound. He blushed lightly and someone shushed them. The quickly went back to listening to the boring lecture about theories and numbers. He would glance over to her and just wonder how such a woman that there was something to unique about how she worked. He didn't even listen to the lesson to be honest to himself, he just wondered if the Hyuga would get lunch with him. The longer the lecture went on, the more that Light was lost in his thoughts.

The class ended with Hinata letting out a sigh in relief and closing up her laptop; she truly disliked math and promised herself that once she was in the Hyuga company head council, she would fire someone to do all the math for her. Just as she stood up to exit and get to the cafeteria for lunch, she heard Light clear his throat. She looked over at him and smiled lightly to show that she had given him her attention. He smiled back, "Hungry?"

"Yes. I was going to the café to grab a bite before I prepared for my new psychology class," she joked as she walked out and Light followed close by.

"So you are officially enrolled?" He asked with a light laugh as she nodded like an excited child.

"After the three classes, I think that I actually might do some good with this skill." She said as the made it outside and she held herself more and tried to fix her scarf around her neck. "This kind of people deduction would do great for my father's company. This kind of analysis for potential allies and rivals will be interesting and fun," she said with a laugh and jogged to get into the warmth of another building. Light laughed as she shivered and looked to him with a pout. "Do not laugh Yagami-san," she huffed and he only chuckled more. "You are truly cruel to me."

"Well," he smirked at her, "than you may punish me as you see fit." Hinata blushed a pretty pink and Light quickly caught on to what he had said. "Come on," he ushered her forward with his own cheeks red and the look of embarrassment. "You better hurry to get something warm before they all go on break." He said and watched as she quickly walked past him and he went over to where he usually sat. And to his surprise, Misa was already sitting there with the usual bento in hand. "Hello Misa."

"Light-kun," she cooed at him and patter the seat beside her, "Hina-chan told me all about how you, she, and that kid named L are all the top of your crime class and solving one after another. I'm so proud and so impressed everyday about how smart you are." She giggled lightly as he sat and began to eat the bento with Misa picking at a few things.

"Thank you so much Misa…but how was your day? You have been so busy."

"Oh the usually, photoshoots, runway shows, a few more commercials, oh," she smiled brightly and grabbed his arm. "I've got a part in a TV show and I get to play the grieving mistress of some old rich guy. I think I'm the one that killed him though, the director won't tell me," she giggled. Light only smiled lightly, but found that he was uninterested in the story as he feared he would. She went on and on about how her career was amazing and how she might be traveling to Europe for a few fashion shows. He thought maybe he should tag along…the things he could learn while in other countries. But then, he realized, that he would be totted around and meet people who were like being from a whole other world. "Hey Light," she shook his arm a bit to get his attention again, "You alright? You never get spacey,"

"Huh?" He looked at her, "I'm sorry. Did you say something?"

Misa huffed lightly and smiled playfully at him, "All that work must finally be doing a number on your brain Light-kun," she laughed lightly. He only smiled at her and as she looked to her phone when it began to ring. "Just give me a moment," she said lightly and walked off. Light looked around for a bit and stopped when he saw Hinata standing there with a soup container and drink. And in front of her was L, slouched over and probably trying to explain some stat that will make her date him. Light was sure that L would go to the ends of the earth for just one date and he wondered what went through his head? Why did he take such an affection to the Hyuga? He had known the boy for only about three years, but L had never once even thought about other people, let alone give his affections to one woman.

"Yes!" Hinata finally called out and gained a lot of attention of the students and faculty within. She sighed loudly and smiled at the man that now stood stock still in front of her. She laughed a bit and shrugged her shoulders. "I will go on a date with you," she said lightly and L just continued to stand there in shock. Hinata looked at him oddly, "We…We ca catch a movie after Psychology, okay?" She asked as he just continued to stand there; she smiled lightly and shook her head. Hinata walked to the cashier and went on with her day with a smile and light blush.

Light left his mouth fall open with shock.

"Gosh, Masamoto does not know when to stop talking." Misa laughed as she walked back over and sat down. She looked at him and was taken back at how L was now lying on the ground and Light was staring at him with wide eyes and his mouth wide open. "What? What happened?"

(Line Break)

Hinata blushed red as L was crouched next to her wearing black dress pants, a button up white shirt, and he was actually wearing black loafers. The lecture was nearly impossible to focus on since she was so distracted by the male beside her. Hinata thought he was good looking, but she didn't know that he could be even more attractive. She looked down at herself and suddenly felt under dressed; she was in jeans, a black t-shirt, a hoodie, and old shoes. Hinata didn't even do anything with her hair. She tried to focus on the lesson and part-take in the suspect diagnose, but then she would catch L again. And she was sure that he knew that it was happening to her to; of course he knew. Hinata blushed deeper and decided to just type out what everyone else was saying.

When class was over, Hinata got ready to leave and gave a squeak when she looked up to see L standing up as straight as he could and waiting for her. She smiled lightly and walked over to him with her bag on her shoulders. "It's just a movie," she said as she motioned to his whole get up.

"Every book I read about dating was specific and persistent on dressing in a far more formal manor than normal." He said as he chewed on his thumbnail.

"Then I am underdressed," she looked down at herself and laughed nervously. "I will try not to make you look bad."

"I think you look beautiful," he said as he leaned down a bit so he could whisper in her ear. "I do not think I would be able to keep my hands off of you." He leaned back and Hinata burst red and Light was watching with his own blush. "Was that not arousing? The books inferred that if we both did this type of flirting, it was a great sign that there will be either sex or hopefully, a second date." She closed her eyes and began to calm herself down and remember that L not socially enable to do something like this. So, he did what he did best. L did his research. "I also read woman magazines so I do know what woman love most on first dates and attractive traits that you will find worthy as a boyfriend and or husband."

"Let's just get going," she said lightly as she took his hand and led him outside of the building. "We'll miss the bus that will take us into the city-"

"No need to rush," he said as he pulled his hand out of her own and put his arm around her waist. "The movie begins at least for an hour and a half," he pulled tickets out of his pockets and when he put them back and then pulled out his cell phone. "And I have a driver on call at all times."

"Wow," she smiled lightly, "it must be nice to live the life of luxury."

"It can be yours too," he said as they walked together towards the apartment buildings. "I read that woman also have an allure to wealth. Not that much of a sell point since you knew that when we met and it did not sway you." L looked down at her, "Unless it is working now?"

"Let us see how this movie date goes," she said and noticed that he had walked her to her apartment building. "We…we won't be having sex…."

L looked at her with wide eyes and a blush bloomed onto his cheeks. "No…no…I only…you felt under dressed…sex on the first date is the first sign of a failure of a first date. As reasoning goes, we will never be having sex if this date is successful." Hinata only smiled and unlocked her door and went in to see Misa in her night clothes and watching bad TV. "Hello Miss Misa," he said and Misa snapped her head over to the two. "Hyuga-chan would like to re-dress for our date and then we will be leaving."

"You're going on a date?!" Misa jumped up as Hinata tried to hold back a groan. "Why didn't you tell me?! We don't have enough time to get you ready!"

"It's fine," Hinata said but Misa had already dragged her away into her room. This was the one thing that Hinata wanted to avoid. Now that Misa knew, Hinata would have to retell the story of this date over and over to the girl and then she would have Misa hounding her for the rest of her life. She could see it now, if this date went well, then Misa would probably find a way to get L's side of the story. She was pushed into her room as Misa tore open her closet and dressers.

"Put all this on while I get my make-up." Misa said as she shoved some clothes into Hinata's arms and began to walk to her room.

"Y-You don't have to do all this." Hinata called after her. But Misa was already off and there was no stopping her. Hinata changed and once again, was impressed by Misa's true genius. She wore black tights, a long sleeved, turtle neck dress that was a dark purple, and black heels. Hinata wondered where these clothes were hiding in her closet since she was sure that this was first time she had ever seen them. Hinata pulled her hair up into a bun in hopes that it looked just messy enough to be elegant.

"Hair down," Misa said as she sat Hinata down on her bed and began with the make-up.

"Why?" Hinata asked.

"You look really good with that long hair and the color is so pretty that it makes your whole being just prettier." Misa said with a smile. "Close your eyes."

"It's just a first date…do I have to be so done up?"

"Look, as far as I know, L is already super in love with you. Hell, you could have just woken up and he would find you the most beautiful thing on the earth. But know you are playing the part." She said with a smile as she continued her work. "Boys are silly, you gotta see if this is his silly boy crush, or if you are dealing with a man that is good enough for you."

"I'm not marrying him-"

"Not yet," she cut her off and Hinata blushed lightly. "Maybe you find out he is everything you ever dreamed of Hinata-chan." She stressed, "You will never know until you try and you really got to try. And I'm not saying force yourself to love him, but give him a chance. You know how long he's been trying to get this date. Now he gets to prove that he was worth the yes."

Hinata opened her eyes as Misa put lipstick on her. She really had to think about this. This may have just been her giving in, but maybe this was L's first real chance. She looked to Misa as Misa looked her over. "What if I mess it up?" She asked with worry and Misa only smiled at her.

"You, mess up?" Misa laughed lightly. "No way." She held up a mirror.

Hinata was taken back. The usual was the eye liner and mascara. But her eye shadow was dark and made her eyes really pop, but then there were her blood red lips. She looked great. Hell, Hinata dared to say that she looked hot! "Whoa…"

"No time to fall in love with your reflection Hinata," Misa said. "Your date is waiting."

L, for being as smart as he was, did not know what to do when he saw Hinata. He had occupied the time with his phone, calling Watari and telling him where to pick them up. He heard her walking back to the living room, and he was going to see what her version of dress was. And was he glad he looked up. L always found the Hyuga to be breath-taking, but at that moment, he forgot to breath. He finally took in a deep breath. "Wow." He said as he stood up as straight as he could. The magazines said that woman loved tall man. Which wasn't too hard because Hinata was rather short.

"Thanks," she blushed lightly and shrugged as she looked at her feet. Misa handed her a purse that she had shoved all her stuff into (Hinata feared that she would open it and find condoms in there too). Hinata cleared her throat. "Now I won't embarrass you," she laughed lightly and walked over to him. "We should get going."

"Wow," he whispered again as he followed her out and was suddenly glad that she walked in front of him. It gave him a better view. Misa closed the door behind them and quickly texted Light to tell him what was going on since she knew that the man had to be as interested as she was.

L and Hinata stood at the front of the building and waited for the car that L had called for. They were quiet and L was not sure that if he was supposed to try and make conversation or 'play it cool' like the magazine said that he should do. Something about giving him an air of mystery. Hinata was just wondering what was going to happen during and after the movie. Would the boy try and kiss her? Should she try and kiss him? Or was none of that supposed to happen?

The limo pulled up and Hinata was wide eyed as an old man came out and opened the door for her and L. "Sorry for the wait. The sir is so rich that I was not sure which limo to bring. Like that sir?"

"Miss Hyuga does not like me for my money, so no need to try and flaunt it," L shrugged and motioned for Hinata to slid in. She blushed and went in and the L followed. "Unless…"

"No," she shook her head and smiled at him. "I am not here for your money."

"Why did you agree Hyuga-chan? In all my calculations, I was more likely to be denied my request that last time I asked. But there must be some variable that I did not take into consideration. I had mapped out our compatibility, your personality, traits, looks; all in comparison to my own. Nothing should have changed since my last asking-"

"I do like you L-kun," Hinata said lightly as she placed her purse on her lap and tried to enjoy the car ride. "I find you attractive, very intelligent, and I think that you are very kind." She glanced over to him and smiled lightly. "I said yes because I was not afraid to actually try and date you like I was before." Hinata blushed as he looked at her with wide eyes. "I…I would like 'us' to work."

L was unable to speak, he only faced forward. Hinata faltered a bit but decided to live in the silence for a bit in hopes that it would diffuse the tension. "We can work...I can try to make it work."

Hinata smiled and placed her hand on his. L jumped lightly and then looked at their hands. Hinata just left it there and refused to look at him. "I can try too."

And it was set.

Black Butler: How the Angel Falls

She was a failure.

Everything she ever worked and lived for ceased to exist in the matter of seconds. She was made of light and goodness to do what had to be done to protect those around her that did not have the great power she possessed; how the pain burned at her back where she was sure that there would be scars that she would bare for the rest of her life. Or what she had to call a life now…but in all truth she had suffered a fate worst then the sweet death that would have been swift. No, she was left to wonder and pray for forgiveness or find a reaper to finally take her away. There was a sudden coldness to the world, which was odd since she had never felt cold but she had heard about it. It was the taste of reality that hit her hard and bit into her form. She had never held such a burden of a physical form that could feel. She knew there had to be a way to get back; her father was merciful and kind. He would let her back in if she would just be able to prove herself to be worth mercy.

Though, she still had to figure out where….and what she was.

Sakura Haruno was beyond capable and the true genius of not only her town, but of her fellow business men. Oh, how she would love to see the look on their idiotic faces when she not only blackmailed them into submission, but made more money than she had promised them. All was fair in love and war, and the young heiress seemed to be the cruel general of her company. Without much regret she had even bought out the branches of her own company that were owned by her 'father's family'. Not her own, by blood they were but it was clear from the day of her birth that she was the outsider. Not that it mattered to her, she was the rightful and only heir if her father knew what was good for her. She need not worry about what they felt about her, nor was her father even all that concerned. She may have actually thought that he was impressed by how she was dominating and keeping the Haruno medical company above the rest. Researchers in medication, treatment, hospital technology, hospitals, insurance companies, and anything in between. Without anything other than her wits and strict up keeping, she would make up for the sins of her mother.

Until her father decided to send her to England for schooling, branching out into England's medical business, and just to get her away.

Only twelve and she had to laugh that she was a threat to her father. "I am still your only blood, sending me away does not keep me from everything you own after death." She explained as she was kneeled across from him as they drank tea outside. She was dressed in a pretty blue and green yukata and her hair was pinned up in a bun. "No matter how far away I am."

"Dear daughter," he said with a smirk, "I am only doing this for your own good. A young woman is nothing without her schooling. And I only want the best for you."

"Konohagakure has the best academy in Japan," she said lightly.

"But England has one of the best Finishing Academy. And you can do so much more with an education no one in this little town has. You must be well rounded to become a global name."

"And what will Hokage-sama say to see me gone," she said as she took a drink of tea and smiled at him. "Certainly she will not be happy to see me gone."

"Oh she understands quiet well that you are better off in England." He said as Sakura frowned and glared at him. "She wishes you the best of luck and has contacted a lot of her companions to let them know to keep an eye out for you. She only sighed and stood. "You start next year and do not forget that you will be staying there until your schooling is over."

"Are you just going to ship me off and expect me to live on the streets?" She looked at him with a glare.

He smirked at her, "Never my daughter. There is a little manor being built just for you." He took a drink of his favorite tea and sighed lightly. "A 'thank you' would be appreciated."

"Thank you father," she said with a sickly sweet smile and bowed to him, "with this kind of education, I will be able to take the company out from right under your feet." She then walked away not needing to see the sour puss on his face when she left. Sakura was more than capable, but she wanted to ease her father into her take over. By sixteen, she would own the company and then have to find a place for her useless father and any unneeded siblings he had managed to make. She sighed lightly as she slipped on her wooden sandals and was about to trek through her private gardens and lake. "Oh papa," she said with a laugh, "maybe I will end your little life much sooner than fate had planned." She giggled and sighed lightly as she ran her hands over the sweet berry bushes. She began to walk over to the lake, but she heard someone splashing water and cringes and whimpers. She peeked around a tree and was wide eyed as she watched a woman, naked with pale skin and long midnight blue hair try to wash around a large scare that she on the right side of her back. It looked sickly, but what made Sakura gasp was the shadow that the woman cast.

Her shadow was winged.

Or, what looked like one wing and the other looked like someone tried to tear it off. The woman cried as she was again unable to wash off the blood that running down her. Sakura backed away, the woman was too grief ridden to even notice she was there. Sakura ran back to her home and went straight for the maids that were washing and drying clothes outside. "Give me a yukuta for a grown woman, rags, soap, and towels." She demanded and sneered when not one of the maids moved. "Now!" She yelled and they scrambled to get her what she wanted. Sakura took the basket filled with supplies. "Follow me and I will have you on the streets." She threatened as she walked away and not a maid bothered to even look up at her. Sakura went back to the lake to see the woman was standing in the shallow waters, just covering her hips.

"What must I do? Tell me what you want and I will obey without question." The woman spoke to the sky and sniffled. Sakura walked up to her.

The Angel looked back and went wide eyed as she saw the young girl who dragged sins behind her like weights that were shackled to her ankles. Pink hair that was pulled up tight to hide away the resemblance to a mother who held no self-worth. Dressed up so beautiful to hide away such evil intentions and to bring the world to its knees. Her sign.

Sakura cleared her throat, "I will treat your wound…." She kneeled on a flat dry rock on the lake side and motioned her closer. "No woman should be left so wounded-"

"The daughter of a mother covered in wounds that people would not see," she began as she walked closer to her. Her eyes were a bright lavender, looking to glow and yet held nothing. "How she walks with wounds and looks to a daughter causing wounds to the man that wounded." She starred into green eyes and Sakura frown. "I see all, know what you do and what you are."

"I am to be your savoir," Sakura said as she motioned for her to spin around. The Angel did as it was told. "I am going to clean your wounds, dress you in clothes, and bring you to a home to keep death away."

"Death cannot take me."

"But angels that fell so far must suffer enough damage to wish that death would." Sakura said with a smirk as the woman flinched. Hinata cringed as Sakura scrubbed roughly into her wounds and took no care to how she felt. "So…I know what you are and I am saving you. What do I get?"

"Gratitude," she said dully.

"Not good enough."

"Gluttony will get you nowhere," she looked back at her. "Hell will be your prize at this rate."

"Well…you are an angel, no? Can you not save me?"

The Angel brightened and smiled so big that she may have torn her face. "I can save you. I can help you repent and send you to the kingdom above and prove that my work will continue even when not in the skies above. I can still help lost souls find a new."

"But that helps you more than I." Sakura smirked as she stood and held out the towel. she walked out of the water and dried herself and looked at her with confusion. "I can save my soul without you. In a church with a Father and real angels…I do not need a fallen one." She said as Hinata looked about ready to cry again. "So…what do I get?"

"What do you want?"

Sakura smiled and then held out the yukata to her.

Sakura felt the smirk pull at her lips as the room was silent as the Angel placed the last dish on the table and walked as if she did not touch the ground. The maids and butlers that stood around were silent and kept their heads down as Kizashi Haruno starred with wide eyes as the woman kneeled down behind his wretch of a daughter. "And what tramp have you allowed into my home?"

"This poor woman has vowed to serve me since I have saved her life from certain disgrace." Sakura said sweetly as she looked back to her new maid. "Hinata Hiroshi, a woman trying to find her way back to God." She smirked as the angle tensed and muttered prayers in her Mistress's stead for using such a name in vain. Hinata could do nothing though. This was her life. To serve Sakura Haruno in hopes that she will gain her soul to purify and send up to the Holy lands to be saved from the wrath of death. Then, she would be let back in with open arms and the sweet light of redemption as her being once more. Human years passed by so dully though, she wondered how long it would take for her to gain her end of the deal. Hinata thought it over and knew that it would take some time, her Mistress was clever and ever so smart to keep Hinata around for as long as her natural life would allow.

"How kind you are?" He said with a smirk as he began to eat. "Poor thing may not last that long," he eyed the woman and Hinata knew the look in a man's eyes. He was a man who took and never gave. And he was going to take from whomever he wanted to.

"Otuo-san," Sakura said with a slight sigh, "If you do touch my things, she will be forced to kill you." She said calmly as the room tensed. Hinata looked up and starred at the man with a glint in her eyes. She was vowed to protect and Hinata would protect her Mistress from any vile; especially her father. He looked at her and they starred at one another. "I would like to see you try to get your fun out of this poor wretch; she will leave your corpse to rot and what will our guest think? What an odor you would cause?"

"Keep that wench away from me and learn to respect your elders."

"Learn to respect your betters…otuo-san."

(Line Break)

The trip to England was about as bad as the young heiress thought it was going to be; the way she had to travel by sea and so much land that was dull and boring made her sick. She had nothing but the entertainment of her servant and a few choice books that she had carried with her. And then once they arrived to the small manor, she sneered at the idea that she lived in a home built by the command of her father, how she was sure there must be something faulty about the place that could bring her to death. Movers were quick to put everything into place and soon enough, the manor was quiet and even more of a bore. Sakura was in her room, only wearing a disgusting corset and her under clothes of white that made her warm. She had to succumb to English culture and her uniform was a long dress where the collar was tight around her neck and the sleeves had to be hem since they were so long. She had tried it on at home before her venture and Hinata was quick to fit it to her. An ugly grey uniform with black accents.

"How does it all look," Sakura asked as her bare feet danced about wooden floors. Long pink hair fluttered about.

Hinata stood in an average maid's dress that looked far more uncomfortable than her clothing. Black and white and her hair was left since Sakura would not have an ugly bun on her servant's head. How she hated having her company look hideous; it made her look hideous. Hinata smoothed out her body apron that was tied around her waist with a large bow and shifted as she stood in ankle heeled boots that were laced tight. "All is well Haruno-sama, the manor was made well and we are stocked."

"Well…" Sakura huffed lightly, "that idiot can do something right." She laughed lightly as she spun around. "Is it not splendid to be away from such a disgusting man?"

"Splendid, Haruno-sama," Hinata said with a bow. "Shall I prepare you a meal-"

"No," Sakura said bluntly, "I can't have you running around doing all the work. You have to be with me at all times and call to all my whims and demands. Put out an add, there must be a few Japanese peasants running around this horrid country that would like to work with their own people," she giggled lightly and flopped down on her bed. "Before tomorrow Hinata. For now, make me something quick and then dress me, I cannot be running around naked as such. What will the others think if they saw me?"

"Yes, Haruno-sama." Hinata said with a bow and walked down to the kitchen in hopes that they would have something to suit her pallet. English food, as she read from many travel books, was either highly delicious or the worst. Not to mention that she must plan a 'get together' for Sakura to meet with a few allies and gain a little more political power. And now, she had to find other workers that she could trust and have a good sense of loyalty. She sighed lightly as she picked up a few things around the storage room and decided that later tonight, she would personally look for workers while sending letters.

Hinata did know much about the undergrounds of London and she was sure that Sakura could befriend one heir, who was very close to England's ruler, Sakura would be set up for a great alliance with England's most influential families. Moreover, she had more and more of a chance to repent and make the path to heaven eligible to many more repenting sinners. She hummed lightly as she made noodles and then worked on making a broth. She felt a sudden chill run up her spine and she stopped what she was doing. Hinata placed a cap over a little pot and moved it to a spot on the stove that was not as hot. She slowly walked out into the large dining hall and there were large windows that looked out at the garden. It was sunset, the shadows were long and deep reds and oranges littered the garden. She opened up one of the windows and starred out. Hinata was still as she saw something move from shadow to shadow. The air was thick and Hinata knew that feeling deep in her chest. Hinata pulled a cross out of her apron pocket and as she held it out, the cross rose up and seemed to burn a little brighter. The Shadow movements stopped and Hinata let out a deep breath. "Father protect all that you hold dear…keep away the minions of the damned." She let the cross float and watched as an energy pulsed from around it.

And then the thing in the shadows was gone.

Hinata quickly went back to her cooking.

The manor was far larger than she was used too. Hinata took the moment as food cooked to explore the manor. She had locked off every entrance she did not have in her sites, took an inventory to every room, and then took extra care to find out where each hidden path within the house used for escaping or for unwanted company to get in. Hinata may have not known much about human culture, but she knew that it was a society easily tainted by the sins of the world. She blessed the home and hung up crosses in every room and blessed the openings, except the front door way. Sometimes, Hinata liked to let evil in and trap it within her reach to destroy it. Before her fall, Hinata was art of a defense army that watched over churches, people of interest, and the entrances to haven. There was something really more interesting about fighting demons, they were the only real match to angels.

What terrible thinking on her part?

Hinata took the food up to Sakura and as she set the tray out on a table, she began to pick out the girl's dress that was simple enough to be around the manor in. There was a silence to the manor that the two seemed to be very fond. It was something that the two would use to their advantage. People used to try and fill the silence with nonsense and would let get information just slip past them like the morons that they were. Hinata kept a notebook on her at all times and would make note whenever Sakura asks her to. Hinata was sure to tie the girl's corsets tight and was sure that the girl was ready to meet the Queen of England if need be. She took a step back and watched the girl look down at herself and then into a mirror. Sakura sneered and pulled the dress up along with the petty coat and looked at the stockings she also had to wear. Her dress was stiff and kept her covered so that not an inch of skin showed. The dress was a dark purple with black collars and cuffs. The designs of the dress were also black lace and decorated the bottom and over the bodice and shoulders. Her hair was pulled up in a tight bun and her greens eyes shown only with hate.

"I will not suffer this," she spun around and glared at Hinata. "If I must suffer this terrible country and these terrible clothes, I will at least have the hair style that I want. Fix it Hinata! I want woman to envy my hair and hate themselves for not having this hair!" Hinata nodded and walked over to her as Sakura sat at her vanity. Hinata unpinned her hair and allowed long pink hair to flow down her back. Hinata pulled her hair back and tied it in a ponytail with a bright red bow. Sakura smiled lightly as she looked at her bangs frame her face and swooned at her own hair. "Much better."

"Will that be all?" Hinata asked as she stood behind her, "I must begin to write letters to find proper workers for her, Haruno-sama."

"Yes," she said lightly and stood. "Come to the library with me and we can both get some work done there," Sakura laughed lightly as she skipped out of her room. "I want people that will be of use to me, but will not be smart enough to figure you out Hinata. Then I will have to kill my own people." She laughed as she ran into the library with Hinata still calmly following behind her. It was sometimes hard to remember that Sakura was still only a thirteen-year-old girl. Hinata smiled lightly as Sakura, who was not wearing shoes, slid across the marble floors to the door. Sakura giggled and then straightened herself and smoothed out her dress before walking into her grand library. She threw a fit when her father refused to build a library when the girl would only need an office room. But she wanted her library to be her office. So Kizashi may not enjoy the company of his overly smart daughter he would give her what she wanted to get her to shut up. Sakura made sure her new home had everything she wanted.

"Anything you would like me to do before looking for workers?" Hinata asked as she followed Sakura as she sat at her desk. Brand new quills, inkwells, and parchment were stored away. Sakura allowed the smell to sink in before shaking her head and waving Hinata away. The woman gave a bow before walking over to a small table and beginning to make signs in her mistress's native tongue about new job positions offered. She began to make a list of things she would have to do and what she would need for the new help. "Oh the rooms in the eastern wing…first floor will be suitable for them. A cook, a butler, a gardener…maybe a footman." She whispered to herself and then sighed lightly as she looked over the sweet and simple sign. She would need men and women that could do their job…but she knew that if they could not be able to figure her out, then they could not be too smart. Maybe she could train them…but be sure that they were able in at least one thing. Proper defense. Hinata knew how England worked and that meant a great risk for Sakura. And that meant that Hinata would need a crew that would be willing to die for this house.

She looked around the room and went over to the windows and touched the glass; darkness that lured far in the garden ran off and Hinata sneered. "We must arm you Haruno-sama…I hope you do not mind a few little marks." She said lightly as she allowed posters to dry as she walked over to Sakura as she worked. Hinata lightly dragged her fingers across the girl's aura, it was still so dark and she could not wait to cleanse the girl of all her sins. It was only a matter of time.

"If it will stop your nonsense worrying," Sakura said as she tried to shoo the woman away with no such luck. "But I will not have them visible like last time. That little Namikaze idiot would not stop until I answered every question about the little marks."

"Of course," Hinata said as her fingers still pushed and prodded against the dark around her. She would have to do something to keep such vile hands away.

(Line Break)

Hinata did not think much of who would respond to the posters as she waited to pick up Sakura from the large Academy. She waited before a carriage and many would gaze at her and whisper about her like she could not hear a thing. She hoped that they were not just waiting at the door step; Sakura hated having to deal with the help around the manor and would not take kindly to those that would try to speak with her to get in her good favor. No, she would have to shoo them aside and allow her Mistress in first and then go from there.

The flood of students exited and Hinata was quick to spot the young woman with bright pink hair, that was hidden under a bleak scarf. The girl scowled as she walked past everyone and hastily got into the carriage without a word. Hinata entered after her and the driver went off. She would not speak. "Kill Sister Lydia," Sakura said as she tore the scarf off her head and threw it to the ground. She stepped on it and rubbed the dirt from her shoe into it. "Leave her on the front steps with this scarf tied around her head." Sakura crossed her arms over her chest and sat back. "Beat her to death with that ruler she carries." Hinata took notice to the bruising on the girl's hands and held out her own to look at them. Sakura obliged and began to tear up, "She dared call me a bother and unruly, like I was some whore looking for attention." She sniffled as Hinata caressed her hands and Sakura watched as the bruising and pain went away. "I was humiliated before such low and homely girls…she would not even give me the respect of my father's name…she made me nothing."

"Such a woman does not serve a God that I know…for He made those in his nature and blessed the beauty of His creation onto you," she cooed lightly as her eyes began to glow with energy and power. "I will mend her ways to see the true light that He gives."

"Good…and give her back this ugly thing she called a scarf."

Hinata and Sakura walked into the manor, the scarf still in Hinata's hands. Hinata took Sakura to her office and informed her of the coming interviews for help. The girl hated the idea, but decided it would be all the better to get it over with to be sure that no one annoying was hired. Hinata walked back down and quickly whipped up some snacks and fake guards so that no one thought about robbing them…or should would have to kill them. They were all trying very hard to be classier than they were. Hinata even caught a few Chinese and Koreans in the group. She would have to try and find them better work so that they would not end up with sinners or in the whore houses.

"Am I late!?" A man called as he ran into the room where many sat and looked around at the rather large group of people. He looked to be an older man, dark brown hair and purple face paint that looked like a meticulous work. Hinata watched from the steps as she walked down as the male quickly found a seat and kept his head low from the fake guards. He was hiding from the law…interesting.

"Hello," Hinata said brightly as she greeted everyone who looked to her with a light blush and wide eyes. "I welcome you all and please feel free to eat as much as you like while you wait, there is more." She looked at relieved face of men and woman that looked like they haven't eaten in days. "I will be sure to be quick about this and if you would all like," she motioned over to a small table with paper and pens. "I will gladly help those not hired in finding good work with other noble families and business." She cleared her throat. "Aiko, Kise?" She called lightly and an older woman stood and walked over to her, "right this way." She led her up the steps and the others left quickly took small plates and hide away food in bags while others filled out applications for other positions.

It went like that for nearly two hours and Sakura had about enough of the whole situation. Hinata bowed to everyone, "I will be sure to send word out of if you are hired or if another household has interest in you and will interview." She smiled lightly and as the room began to clean, she stopped three people and asked to stay behind. They all grew nervous and tried to act calmly and pretended they had been asked to help clean up. Once the last guest left, she closed and looked the doors as the guards went down a hall and disappeared. "I will be back." She bowed to them and then walked upstairs to get Sakura.

"Oh shit," the brown haired boy said as he looked around the room. "She's going to have us deported…I just know it. Damn rich people do anything to keep us poor." He bit his thumbnail and paced. "Shit."

"Please stop it," a boy with long brown hair said lightly as he crossed his arms over his chest. "We are going to be fine. This is just a formality. If this woman is willing to find everyone work, maybe she knows somewhere we can go right now."

"Or she's wants to sell us to the highest bidder," one muttered as he ran his hand down tanned skin and the bright red triangles on his cheeks. "I heard that these English woman love to get down and dirty with foreigners. Gets us killed before anyone can find out about it and treat us like shit." He scoffed and sat down on the floor. "Japanese or not, rich people will like other rich people."

"How dare you compare me to such anglo filth blood lines," the three looked up and paled when they say Sakura walking down to meet them in her school uniform and no shoes. Hinata stood behind her with a stern expression. "I chose to hire eastern blood because we are people of honor and respect…or so I had thought. It seems this city has tainted what good was there."

"We are very sorry, Lady of the house," the three got down on their knees and bowed low.

She just huffed. "Fear not, because I have seen promise in you three. So you will get anything from your homes and then report back here tomorrow morning at sunrise because you have little time to be taught of this place and I must attend my classes." She turned away and headed back upstairs.

"Really," the man with purple face paint said as he looked at up her, "you're…you're hiring us?"

"Must I repeat myself," Sakura groaned. "Are you too stupid to understand?"

"No, I am sorry. Thank you." He bowed again and the other two thanked her. She walked away and the three looked back up when they heard a giggle. Hinata smiled down at them, "please stand. It would best if you all gather your things now and report back before nightfall. I will have your rooms prepared by then." They stood, bowed again, and just as they were about to leave. "Kiba, Haku, Kankuro," she spoke lightly and they looked back at her. Hinata eyes began to glow a dark purple, "May you walk with God at your sides."

(Line Break)

Hinata looked down at all the bowl of steaming ramen and pork buns. "I thought we talked about this Kiba-san." She asked lightly as Kiba rubbed the back of his neck and smiled big. She only sighed and put down a list of items to make. "We are having important guest coming over and they came to the country for different food." She pulled out a cook book. "Please use the cook book and to my list."

"I'm on it Hinata," he called after her as she took the tray to Sakura. The new help had been there for over a few months and she had learned that they may be good at defending the house, keeping secretes, and getting really good information, but the men could barely do the jobs assigned to them. Maybe she should have looked for more validated workers and left the protection to her. But…the gang was fun to have around. And they all agreed to live under the moral and watch of God. They all learned that she was very strict to that code and tried hard to at least stick with it.

"Look at this!" Sakura yelled with a glare as she watched Kankuro putting up all the place settings on the long dining table as she sat off at another table. "Why is he putting in the white water lilies? Lady Aburame greatly dislikes white water lilies."

"I have to balance all the colors Lady Haruno," Kankuro said with a sigh as he then went to arranging the plants by the orchestra. He muttered under his breath as he hard glare on his face. Sure, he was happy to be out of the slaughter house, but working for a twelve-year-old girl may have been a step down. Hinata served her little mistress and then walked over to Kankuro and set down a glass of water. "Thank you."

"Haruno-sama," Haku walked in as he buttoned up his black coat and put on his gloves. His hair was up in a tight bun and he sighed lightly. "We have yet to even getting close to finishing your dancing lesson." He stood beside Hinata, nearly a foot taller than her and even more appealing to look at. "How will impress the young heir Aburame?"

"I am eating," she stressed and picked up her silver chopsticks. "Then, I will continue with this ridiculous dance lesson. I am the perfect heiress; I know any dance of importance for my future husband." She scoffed and daintily ate without slurping her noodles. She looked to the two, "Why not you two show me how the dance. If you two can do it, it must not be that hard." The two sighed lightly and then turned to one another. Haku bowed and Hinata gave a curtsey. Haku took her hand and placed the other on her waist while Hinata placed her hand on his shoulder.

"This is important Haruno-sama," Haku said as the two began to turn about the room, "you must let young heir Aburame lead the dance. And step on his feet as much as you like; as may you Miss Hinata." Haku smiled at her and Hinata giggled lightly. Sakura and Kankuro both scoffed. "And then remain calm and stiff up when he goes for the dip," Haku said as he slowly dipped Hinata back. He looked up to Sakura, "and do not allow the young heir to steal a kiss. He is to be a gentleman and you two are still not married." He brought Hinata back up, they both stepped apart and then bowed/curtseyed again.

"When did you learn how to dance," Kankuro said with a laugh as he placed down a small bouquet of red, yellow, and white roses on the table that Sakura sat at.

"Over the last past week," Haku said as he began to examine the room. "And since when did you arrange flowers?"

"Since I got put in charge of taking care of the grounds because you can't be trusted to not kill all the plants," Kankuro added as he bowed to Sakura before walking off. "So, I'll be outside trying to make the front look decent since our cook thought it best to try and roast a pig outside and not down below." He left promptly after with a slight laugh.

"Speaking of that," Sakura said as she picked up a pork bun. "How are all the guest rooms looking Hinata?"

"All set," she said with a bow.

"And the sitting area, nothing there is out of place to give my father a reason to scold me," she asked as she looked to Haku.

"Not a book out of place Haruno-sama." He said as he bowed.

"Go and help Kiba with dinner Haku. I do not want him too overwhelmed." The male nodded and then walked off, leaving Hinata and Sakura in the dining room. "So," Sakura asked with a smirk, "how is Sister Lydia? I sent flowers to the asylum, but no one will tell me how the poor woman is doing."

"She must be sitting within the buildings chapel," Hinata said seriously, her eyes beginning to glow. "Repenting for all her sins and praying that God will forgive her for all her wrongs that she has inflicted upon this mortal realm." Hinata said with a laugh and Sakura could only smirk bigger at the idea of how the woman must look now. Maybe she would have to visit Sister Lydia and remind her why she was there. Poor souls had to be saved.

"Also," Sakura began as she pulled a few letters from her corset and handed them to Hinata, "I have been invited to a few parties within England's high society and all by the hand of one little noble that is wearing boots that are a little too big for him." She giggled and continued to eat her ramen and then took a large bite of her bun. "I thought that we should indulge him and make an appearance for his sake. How glorious it would be to have two small children stomping all over these pathetic nobles?" She looked at her nails and then took another bite of the bun. "I heard that he has risen to power quickly over the past two years…almost…magically in a sense."

Hinata starred down at the papers and felt her hands sting as the darkness was imbedded into the paper and it made her glare. She could already tell what was going on. It must have been the same evil being that had lingered about the grounds before she had blessed the grounds. So she would have to investigate what these dirty nobles wanted from her lost soul Mistress. "What would you like to know, Haruno-sama?"

"Give me everything," she said with a smirk as she looked at the flowers. "I need all the information on the little Phantomhive Lord."
