'Now what' turned out to be very little. Something's changed and others didn't, the biggest difference of course being her inability to travel through time. And instead of school she spent her days assisting her grandfather in tending to the shrine or sitting in on discussions about her and Shinobu. Spirit world was understandably worried about the two of them after all, and Sesshomaru, the least reassuring person she had ever met unless it was your death he was assuring you of, spent hours, days, attempting to assuage King Enma and his concerns. In the end with many concessions from both sides it was agreed that as long as they did not interfere with Spirit Worlds authority then Spirit World would not interfere with them.
Of course there was far more to it than that, for instance they were allowed to defend themselves if need be but could not actively seek out a fight, which was completely fine with her the relative peace was welcome after the insanity her life had been since her fifteenth birthday.
"Kagome?" She blinked light colored eyes to focus on the concerned voice of Shinobu, his own blue gaze swam with worry that she tried to soothe with a brilliant smile. And when that failed she drew him into a gentle kiss that he was quick to respond too.
And when they at last they parted he huffed in amusement, placing the box in his hands on the ground outside the door- their door and fished for the key in his pocket. "This may be the last of the boxes but we still have work to do, so distractions later."
"Oh? Is that a threat?" She couldn't help but giggle, brow arching in question.
"No, it's a promise."
Indeed it was the sort of life she could get used to.
