Shinobu had never really commented on her inability to have children, whether because it truly didn't bother him or not was something she was uncertain of but there was always the possibility that he simply just did not want to have kids. And it was that possibility that terrified her the most as she stood before him, her hands wringing in anticipation of his reaction. After all they had discussed alternate ways everything from adopting to a surrogate and all had been shot down for various reasons.
After her declaration he had frozen, and remained unmoving even now after what felt like hours to her fear ridden heart. When still he didn't react her eyes turned down cast as she broke eye contact.
And then she was swept off the floor as he spun her, the jubilance in his aura was practically over whelming as he simply laughed and she joined him. When at last he stopped and placed her on the ground without letting go he stared into her eyes for but a moment before drawing her into a heated kiss that she was eager to respond to. They remained like that until they had need to breath and even then they didn't part far simply resting their foreheads together.
"I'm going to be a father." It was barely a whisper but still it was profound.
