Author's Note: Sorry for the wait, I wanted to get this chapter done fast. And sorry if it isn't the way I wanted it to be, but I'm nearly glad at how this came out. I hope you all enjoy this and understand where I was going. Enjoy.

Chapter 24: Special Session

There was a bit of silence as Don sat at the work table inside his private lab. The black clad turtle currently wearing magnifying goggles as he looked at a beaker with some clear liquid inside. Take a small sniff he found it to be odorless, and there wasn't any bubbles in it.

This was a secret project of Don's that he had been working on for a few months, and luckily no one managed to find out about it, not even Shredder. The turtle is working on a new form of an adrenaline shot, one of which would temporarily boost the user's strength and speed. He has the basic adrenaline down, but he's having trouble trying to perfect the chemicals inseminated into the muscles. Currently he was working with the protein myostatin, which is a growth factor that effects the muscles. So far he hadn't found the right combination of chemicals that'll stay stable.

Sighing he then removed the goggles and placed it on the table, leaning back in his work chair. "This should be a good place to stop for now," he commented as he stretched his arms and legs, without having to leave his seat. Once fully limber he folded both arms and sighed as his mind started to wander.

It had been nearly two days since his encounter with his brothers, and yet it still haunt him some. He had been involving himself in his work to try and forget about it, but that only backed them up and came out full force once he wasn't occupied. Whenever he thought about them the memories of his tortures came back, and the way he saw his brothers faces made him shudder. Yet he would tell himself that that it wasn't them and that they wouldn't hurt him for anything.

Yet even if it wasn't them, why didn't he want to go back with them? He still didn't remember how to get back to the lair, and his brothers being there could have easily led him back. But…he didn't almost as if something held him back, something that didn't trust them. Did he even want to go back? How is his family holding up without him for so long? There were so many questions that he was curious as to the answers for.

The more he thought about this, the more he started to consider Gavin's offer. His friend had said that he could help him escape here, and get him back. But yet he wasn't sure if Gavin could pull it off, Don couldn't tell but for some reason he had a suspicious that something more is going on with his friend. But he didn't pry, yet he was still weary.

His train of thoughts ended when a beep was heard from his computer, an indication that he had a message. This was something new he had learned about on his computer. Whenever he is working in his lab Shredder or someone else would send him a message if they needed him. Standing up he went over to his computer and woke it up from sleep mode.

Both of the turtle's eye rose in displeasure at what the message said, "Oh man…now?"

You have a special session with Dr. Adams in ten minutes, don't be late.

-Oroku

Don rubbed his face with his hand as he blew out a heavy sigh, once more he had another session. "Man, why all the sudden sessions…I'm not liking this one bit." Sighing once more the black clad turtle stood up and headed out the door, might as well head over and not be late.

In his office Dr. Adams sat behind his desk, hunched over as he talked on the phone, he was really attentive to who he's talking to. "Yes sir…yes, he's heading up…Yes I have everything set, it may take longer than usual but it'll get done…It will work, they say the smarter the person the easier it is."

Just then he heard a knock on the door, "He's here, tell you about it later." He hung up the phone and gathered his notes, "Enter."

Don entered the room in silence, and like always walked over to his seat and sat down, waiting for the session to start.

"Good to see you once more Junko," the doctor responded as he took his usual spot and opened his notebook.

"What's going on, why am I having a session now?" the turtle asked, wanting to get that information first.

"Well I thought we could try something new…something that could prove beneficial to you down the road," he responded coolly.

This caused Don to raise an eye, "How so?"

"That will be answered later, but first I want to get to know you more on a much personal level," without taking his eye off of his patient the human reached over to the table by his side. On it was a small metronome, and with a switch it started to moved left and right, audible ticks echoing through the room.

"Uh…what's that for?" Don asked, confused as to why that thing was on, it caused a noise that he found irritating. But yet for some reason deep down he couldn't stop looking at it when it was on.

"This? Well I learned that the sound helps calm certain individuals, and I wanted to try it," The doctor smiled once again, showing no Altera motive on his face.

"Well…I don't like it," he said, hoping that being truthful could get rid of it.

"Just give it a chance Junko, believe me that it'll help," Dr. Adams convinced as he looked down at his notes. "Tell me more about your past, I want to know more about your creative mind."

"M…my past?" Don questioned, feeling as if he's entering a danger zone. Because of this the walls came down as he looked at the doctor, "I don't think I don't want to say."

"How come? Bad experiences?"

"N-No…it's just," Don tried to find a reason to stop this conversation but his eyes turned back to the metronome. The way the pendulum kept moving from side to side, making that ticking sound, it just drew the turtle's attention, slowly blocking out all that was around him.

"Are you feeling alright?" Dr. Adams asked, startling Don for a sec.

"What?"

"I asked if you were feeling alright. Because it looked like you were zoning out there."

Don shook his head, "No I'm fine-"

"Are you sure?" He asked, silence overtaking the room, except for the ticking of the small device.

"Yes…I'm sure," Don responded, eyes going back to the metronome. Things remained silent as the small machine kept going as the doctor wrote some notes down. The black clad turtle became entrapped by it, not being able to take his eyes off the device, eyes moving side to side along with it, counting all the ticks it made as it echoed through his mind.

"Are you feeling tired? You look like it," the human suggested

Just as he said that a yawn came out of the turtle, surprised as he felt some fatigue setting in, yet his eyes kept looking at the metronome. "I…I…maybe a little."

The doctor closed his notebook, "Why not just close your eyes for a bit, you can still talk like that. I don't mind if you accidently fall asleep."

"Why…I mean…we're supposed to have a session," he asked as both eyes started to slowly drop.

"Don't worry, I know you're tired, just rest your eyes for a bit."

Another yawn came out of the turtle's mouth, his eyes finally closed, "O-Ok…just for…a bit…"

Dr. Adams smiled as he watched his patient lean his head back, soft snores could be heard as he was finally under the state of sleep he was in. Just to be sure he waited a few more minutes, making sure to pull his chair closer to the turtle. Now things would begin, it would take time but he'll do it.

"Junko…can you hear me?" he asked, the metronome's ticks still being heard.

"Yes…" Don's sleepy voice responded, body still, and eyes still closed.

Nodding that things were going good so far the human continued, "I'm going to ask you a few questions, and I want you to answer them truthfully, do you understand?"

"Yes…"

"Good," the doctor turned to a new page in his notebook, ready to do his work. "Tell me more about your family…how are you treated among them?"

"My…family?" Don questioned in his sleep, which was a bit of a concern with the doctor, but that was washed away as he continued. "They…are the only family I have…I love them…and they are so…good to me."

"Tell me about your youngest brother?" Dr. Adams asked, writing some notes down.

"Michelangelo? Well he's a great guy…bit of a goofball, but…he has heart, the one thing that we all need. He keeps us all going and lifts our spirits when we need it."

"Interesting," Some notes were taken down. "How are you personally with him?"

"He…I'm usually his partner in crime…when he's feeling mischievous…He always knows how to bring a smile to my face with his antics."

"Ok…what about your next brother?" Dr. Adams asked, wanting to know more about the family.

"Raphael…he's more of a loner type. He's a hothead, and always want to do things his way, and is easily angered. But still that doesn't mean he doesn't care. He's our protector, he wants us all alive, and would rather die first than any of us."

"Wow, interesting as well…how do you get along with him?" More notes were written down, this information too good to pass up.

"We're more the…I don't know the word for it. We hang out when we want, and even do maintenance work together. It's like a silent bonding thing we do. He's always there when I need help, or just need someone."

"Alright…now your last brother." This is going easier than he thought, and he was glad for that.

"Leonardo…" Don started to talk more easily through his sleep. "He's our leader…always there when we need him, and takes his position seriously. He's always willing to help us with our training when we need it…he's like a teacher mixed with a brother."

"And how do you get along with him?"

"I'm just like Leo in a way…we're both level headed and always open to discussion. I'm always there when he wants to talk about something, and I'm willing to listen."

"Ok…and finally, what about your so called father?" Now was something he really wanted to know about and readied himself to write it down.

"Master Splinter…he's our father…and the best one that there ever was. He's also our sensei that trains us in Ninjutsu…He cares for us more than anything and always puts our safety first. He will not let anyone harm us, nor will he let anyone take us away from him. He's more of a father to us, than a sensei."

Dr. Adams nodded, writing this interesting information down. "How's your relationship with him?"

"He loves us all…whenever I need guidance…he's there's for me. He's the reassurance I need to stay confidant about myself…and makes me feel safe."

The doctor continued to write down the notes, the ticks still being heard as ideas came to mind. Now that he had a good grasp on his family, now they could move to the next part of the session. "Junko…I want you to think deep, and go back into your memories…I want you to tell me some of your times with your family…tell me what happened during those times, starting with a memory with your youngest brother."

There was silence as the turtle searched his memories, finding a memory he wanted to talk about with his brother Mikey. Soon one came to mind, "When we were younger…Mikey asked me to help him with one of his pranks…we ended up getting caught my Master Splinter…but Mikey took the blame for the whole thing.

Memory

A young Mikey and Don stood before their father, the rat's arms folded as he didn't look pleased at all. The two turtles had their heads hanging mostly in shame for getting caught.

"Now, please tell me why you two had to paint Raphael's shell while he slept?" Splinter asked as he sternly looked at the two. Yet none of them said anything in their defense. "I'll make this simple, who was the one behind this?"

The two brothers all shuffled nervously as Don looked over at his brother. Earlier he came to him and asked for help to play a prank on Raph. The red clad turtle was taking a nap and the two thought it would be funny to do something. It was then Mikey suggested they paint his shell pink, and of course Don agreed and supplied the paint. Well they managed to do it, but Splinter caught them as they were sneaking away, which lead to now.

Don felt the most responsibility because he supplied the paint, so sighing he was about to take the blame but he was stopped. "It was me sensei, only me."

The rat raised and eye at the response, not buying it at all, "Then why did I see you both sneaking away from your brother?"

"Because Don tried to stop me," he said, which shocked the purple clad turtle big time. His youngest brother is covering up for him, another pang of guilt hit the turtle because of this.

"I see…" Splinter then turned to his second youngest, "Is this true Donatello?"

"Um…yes," he nodded.

Splinter sighed, "You may go then, as for you Michelangelo tomorrow you will get up an hour earlier for practice."

"Yes sensei," Mikey responded.

Once all was said and done and Splinter left Don spoke to his brother. "Mikey why did you take the blame?"

"Because that's what brother's do," he smiled, which caused a smile to appear on the purple clad turtle's face.

End Memory

"He always did things like that…" Don finished as silence filled the room.

Dr. Adam's nodded as he wrote down the whole memory, smiling as he wrote some more information. This wouldn't do, things had to be changed and he knew how to. Once he finished he leaned in closer, "No I don't think so, I wouldn't say your brother did something like that. That's what you want to see…think about it once more, and really see what happened." Dr. Adams instructed, now the fun would begin, only if he could see it happening.

Both of Don's eye lids quivered as he was instructed to do so, but this time the Doctor was now whispering things into his ear slit, changing what he saw.

New Memory

"I'll make this simple, who was the one behind this?" He remember Splinter saying to them, now glaring at the two.

Just as Don was about to speak up Mikey then interrupted, but then it was as if a ripple around the memory froze everything as nothing could be seen or heard as this happened, almost as if it was being blocked. After a minute it all started to clear up, but what happened next surprised Don completely.

"It was Donny's idea!" he heard his brother shout out, much to his surprise. "He dragged me into it!"

"What, Mikey it was-" Don tried to defend himself.

"You're a liar!" Mikey shouted.

"Silence!" Splinter's voice boomed out, causing the two to freeze. Both of them looked up at their sensei, scared at the rage that was in their father's voice. "Michelangelo you may go."

The orange clad turtle smiled as he left, leaving the purple clad turtle with his angry father. "But Master Splinter, it wasn't-"

"You're the only one smart enough to come up with something like this," The rat said. "At least I have one honest son." Don's eyes widen as he then hung his head, not believing that his brother sold him out like that, and blamed him for the whole thing.

End Memory

Don's body trembled as the memory played in his mind, frightened at what he really saw and can't believe it at all. He wanted it to end, but thankfully a voice broke him away from it.

"That's enough…" Dr. Adams said, pleased at the response he received. It was working and now it was time to push it more. "Now think about another memory with one of your brother's…tell me about it." After he said that Don then shifted his thoughts away from his youngest brother, now focusing on a pleasant memory with Raph, his body calming down as he thought about it more.

Things were quiet in the garage as Don and Raph worked together on the vehicles they had. The two of them said nothing as they went about their business. Don under the Battleshell working underneath it while Raph was turning his bike. The silence around them was a common thing between them as they worked, and they liked it. Every once in a while they would speak up asking for a tool. This was a bonding thing they liked to do, because they enjoyed the moment working on the vehicles together.

"Raph, a three-eighths?" Don asked.

Nodding Raph moved over and picked up the right tool and handed it to his brother. "Thanks."

"No problem Donny- boy," Raph smiled as he went back to his bike. He looked over his ride and noticed something, "Hey Don can you help out for a sec, there's something here I don't know about."

"Sure…just give me…a…done," he then rolled out from under the Battleshell, but unfortunately he pushed too hard and the roller bed was in the way, and accidently hit Raph's bike.

"Shell!" the red clad turtle shouted as he moved out of the way as the bike tipped over and scraped against the ground.

"Raph, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to…" Don said, loss for words as he watched his brother pick up his bike again, looking it over and wincing as he saw some scrapes on it. He knew his brother would be made, he loved the bike a lot and got angry if anyone touched it. "Raph I'm-"

He stopped once his brother put his hand up, but surprisingly there wasn't any anger at all. "It was an accident Don, don't worry, besides, just need some paint that's all."

"Really?" he responded, surprised that his hothead brother is relatively calm about this.

"Yeah, go grab the paint and help me out."

"Sure," he responded as he moved to the table to grab the paint.

But just then the same ripple from earlier flooded the memory as a voice hit him.

"That's not how it happened…rethink about that and see what really happened…"

It was then the memory of his time with his brother rewinded to when his brother asked for the tool. He rolled back and still hit the bike and knocked it over, hearing Raph's surprised voice as it scrapped against the ground.

"What the shell Don!" Raph yelled.

"Raph, I'm sorry, it was an-"

"Look at what you did, you wreck my bike!" he growled and snapped at Don, anger laced in his voice.

Don cowered a bit as he saw his brother's glaring eyes, "I said it-"

"What is stopping me from pounding you right now for what you did?" He growled as his hands clenched.

"I can fix it, you know-" he moved to pick the bike up but was stopped.

"Don't you dare touch it, just…get out of here now!" he pointed to the elevator, fury now on his face.

"But-"

"Now!"

Both of Donny's hands clenched the arm rests as a bead of sweat dropped down his face. "No…no…how could he…" he said to himself, still in a trance like state. Apparently he was seeing altered memories of his past, and now he wasn't liking any of it at all.

Dr. Adams leaned forward once more as he wrote more notes down, they were nowhere close to being done yet. "Move on now Junko…think about a new time with your last brother."

After saying that, Don's grip slowly started to loosen as he calmed down some. His focus went to Leo finally, the calm memory easing him some as he relaxed.

Don sighed as he walked over to the dojo, knowing that Leonardo would be there training. He encountered a problem with one of his repairs and needed to visit the junkyard for parts. He didn't want to go alone so he went to ask if Leo would come with him. He would ask his other two brothers but they were busy at the moment.

He would just go by himself, but he didn't feel like going alone right now, so he asked. He entered the dojo and found Leo practicing with his katanas, trying to perfect another kata he was taught. He decided to wait a sec for Leo to finish up, he didn't want to interrupt him during his practice.

After a long swing with his sword Leo noticed his brother's presence and turned back, "Something wrong Don?"

"Not really, it's just that I need to make a trip to the junkyard," Don spoke.

"You know I don't like it when you go by yourself," Leo sighed, he worried about his brother going out alone and it worried him.

"I know…that's why I was hoping you would come with me."

Leo raised an eye at the response, "Really? What happened to Raph and Mikey?"

"They were too involved with their activities and won't listen…that's why I was hoping you would come with," he kept asked, hoping he would say yes.

Leo ended up smiling as he holstered his swords, "Sure, I could use a break, besides, it'll be nice getting out with my brother."

Don smiled at the response, glad to know he wasn't going alone, "Thanks…"

Once more the same ripple happened as the memory was stopped and covered from the turtle. Once again the same voice from earlier came back.

"No, that's not how it went did it, he wouldn't act so friendly…go back and look at the truth."

Things rewinded and went back to when Don entered the dojo. When Leo saw him enter, instead of a friendly greet, both of his hands clenched as his teeth gritted.

"What do you want," he snarled. "You know not to disturb me."

Don was taken back at the anger his brother displayed, "Uh…I was going to go to the junkyard and-"

"Haven't I told you not to go there anymore!" he turned around, both eyes narrowing with anger, which surprised the purple clad turtle.

"Uh…I just-"

"No you don't!" Leo yelled, moving closer, the anger radiating off of him. "I told you so many times, to never go there anymore, nor to disturb me during practice!"

"But Leo-" Don started to cower a bit.

"Leave!" he shouted.

Don started to whimper as the memory played in his head, noting believing what was going on. "No…why…why does he have to be mean?"

"Don't worry Junko…it was long ago, it doesn't matter right now…you're safe from them," Dr. Adams started to say. Now they were going to do one that will truly deliver a heavy blow. "Now come away from that awful memory, now focus on your sensei, and a time with him."

Once more the discomfort that Don was facing slowly started to fade as he started to think about Master Splinter and a time back with him, when he was younger.

In the dojo of their old lair, a much younger Splinter watched Donatello perform a kata he was being taught. It was only the two of them right now, since the rat decided to give his sons individual lessons so that way they could have one on one time with their sensei.

"Remember Donatello, go slow, there's no rush to finish it fast," Splinter spoke.

"Yes sensei," the turtle nodded.

Don performed the punches he was instructed to do, and finished with a spin kick, but he ended up falling back on his shell, failing to do the move correctly.

"You alright my son?" Splinter asked as he helped Don up to his feet, the young one rubbing his shell as it ached a bit.

"Yes…just slipped."

"Don't not lean back when you do your spin kick, your weight will be shifted back and cause you to fall," Splinter helped correct the error in his move.

"I'm sorry sensei, it's just hard," Don looked down in shame.

Splinter sighed as he kneeled down, "Don't worry my son, you have to go at your own pace. You're brothers go at their own speed, I don't care if it'll take you much longer you'll get it down eventually."

Don smiled at the response, "Thank you sensei."

"Good, do it once more, but slower," Splinter smiled.

Once more the same ripple happened as things rewinded but now things changed again.

"You are mistaken, that's not the kind of teacher he is…he would never accept a mistake like that."

Once more things changed to after Don fell to the ground, but this time instead of the concern expression on his father's face, it was one of irritation.

A waver of nervousness washed over the turtle as he got back to his feet, he could tell his sensei wasn't pleased. The feeling only increased as he saw his father get closer to him.

*Smack*

An intense sting radiated on Don's face as he father struck him across the face, now anger on his face. "How hard is it for you to get a simple kata right!" his voice rang out with fury.

"I'm doing the best I can," Don whimpered as he nursed his stinging cheek.

*Smack*

Once more his father struck him in the face. "I don't believe that!"

Don looked down in shame as he rubbed his cheek, "I'm sorry sensei, it won't happen again."

"I know it won't, because you are not leaving until you get it right, and I don't care if you are tired." He growled out the warning, "Now again, and don't you dare get it wrong again!"

Don whimpered again as he started to repeat the kata once more, knowing his father's glaring eyes were watching him. He was afraid of what would happen if he got it wrong once more.

A tear slid down Don's face as he witness the memory, "No…why did he have to…strike me like that…" he whimpered.

"Calm down Junko, don't worry he can't hurt you anymore…I know it's not pleasant…and I'm sorry to say it's not over yet."

Over the next few hours Don remained in a hypnotic state, Dr. Adams kept whispering things into his ear. Don kept whimpering, shedding tears and reliving horrid memories of his past, once happy memories he had were broken away to show truthful memories of his family's cruelty toward him. He couldn't believe how blinded he was to the truth.

Dr. Adams smiled as he wrote down more notes, he was glad that things were going according to plan. He made sure to address certain memories and carefully took care of them. He did everything he could and now things were slowly winding down as he was just about finished.

By now Don was sweating and somewhat relaxed. "Junko can you hear me now?"

"Yes."

"Good, we are just about done here, now when you wake up, you are not going to remember our session, but the memories will remain with you…now…awaken!"

*Clap!*

The clap caused the turtle to spring forward, a huge gasp coming out of him as he started to breathe heavily. "What…what happened?" he asked, almost like he saw a ghost.

"Oh Junko you alright?" Dr. Adams asked, now faking concern.

"What happened?" he asked once more as he looked around and remembered he was in the doctor's office.

"Oh…we were having our usual session but you were tired and decided to take a nap."

"Really?" Don asked, not sure if he actually would have done that.

"Yes…I could tell you were tired."

"What time is it anyway?" Don asked as he stood up.

"About evening," the doctor responded as he went back to his seat. "The session ended long ago, so you may go."

"Really? I mean if I really fell asleep don't you-"

"Don't worry about it, we can cover it again in our next session, now please I know you may have other things to do," Dr. Adams responded as he sat down.

"Oh…ok then, I guess," Don raised an eye as he headed towards the door. Not sure what really is going on, but decided not to question it. If he got to leave then he wasn't complaining at all anymore.

Dr. Adams watched as the turtle left the office, and once that happened he let out a laugh, he didn't suspect a think. Smiling he reached for his phone and dialed a number.

"Yes," a voice responded.

"Lord Shredder, it is done," the doctor said.

"Good," Shredder responded, pleased at the response. "Are you sure it'll work?"

"Yes, I know for sure, I did everything correctly and he doesn't suspect a thing," the doctor laughed a bit.

"Hmm…we may need to do a test."

Both eyes raised at that, "A test? What kind of test?"

"You leave that to me, and go about your usual business."

"Yes sir, anything else?"

"No, I have some planning to do, just ask normally around Junko, we'll see the results soon," with a click the line went dead, indicating that the phone hung up.

A/N: Hope you like, surprising twist that Shredder is playing? Believe me that this will be a factor later on in the story. I'm not sure about the next chapter but I'll think of something. Now I hope you enjoyed this. Till next time.
