"What the hell!?" A voice yelled from the hallway both Shikamaru & Temari jumped their previous actions being forgotten. He jumped away so fast she was almost offended. Almost.

"Amai!" Shikamaru said jumping backwards, still flushed in the face, looking at the girl in the doorway. Temari looked at the girl with long dark hair she didn't need to ask to know this was the girl from the picture. Shikamaru almost wanted to tell her it wasn't what it looked like but he knew she wouldn't buy it, because well it was totally what it looked like.

"Amai…" He said he putting a hand behind his neck, he might of been a genius but he had no idea what to do in a time like this. This was the time Temari took to slide off the counter trying to be as invisible as possible which was hard with the girl staring daggers in her direction.

"I leave for a mission & I come back to this. You making out with some man stealing whore in my kitchen."Amai fumed. Temari was offended that time she may be a lot of things but a man stealing whore was not one of them.

"I am no whore!" Temari snapped glaring at the girl her fist clenched stepping up to the girl.

"If it looks like a whore & sounds like a whore." Amai said Shikamaru could see this was not going to end well. He pushed Temari back away from Amai before any punches could of been thrown by either girl.

"Go in the other room Temari." He said not bothering to look at her but staring at Amai the whole time.

"No if she's going to say shit about me I want to hear." she protested.

"Temari this isn't an option just go!" He said sending her a look that she knew she couldn't argue with him. Temari muttered something under her breath as she turned to storm off down the hall.

Amai looked at the blonde as she walked down the hall hearing a door close with a slam.

"Amai listen-" He started but he was cut off.

"I don't want to hear it! I go on a mission & the second I'm gone you start screwing some whore in my house! Who by the way is wearing my clothes!" She snapped her hands on her hips.

"It's not like that." Shikamaru started he wanted to explain everything to her. Let her know this wasn't some affair. He hadn't planned any of this. And most of all he never meant to hurt her.

"How long has this been going on?" Amai said cutting straight to the point. If there was one thing Shikamaru liked about her it was how she never beat around the bush even if she had the wrong idea.

"It hasn't happened. This is the first time. And nothing happened. Please you need to believe me."

"How do you stupid do you think I am? I just saw you having your way with her." She fumed well he couldn't really argue that could he?

"You're right I did kiss her. I shouldn't of but it's just….." He said with a sigh she looked at him she knew the look on his face & what that meant. She could feel the pity of her stomach drop the way it did when you knew bad news was coming & there was nothing you could do to change it.

"How long?" She asked he looked at her.

"No just listen. Please." He said trying to grab her arm as she pulled away.

"Listen to your lying ass? I don't think so Shikamaru."

"I didn't sleep with her. You need to know that Amai. I was just helping out a friend. She was injured." He said this couldn't help but peek her curiosity slightly.

"What do you mean she was 'injured'?" Amai asked curious to hear the answer.

"She was in really bad shape when I found her if I didn't help she could of died." He explained she just cocked her head at him.

"You took care of her? You know that's what hospitals are for right?" She said looking at him he put a hand behind his neck trying to think of how to explain without really explaining.

"I couldn't bring her to the hospital they would of in-I just couldn't ok." He said it was that moment when he something in her eyes change. It was a connection, a realization.

"That's the missing Suna nin isn't it? The one that my team was told about when we arrived back at the village for an update!" She said he looked down with a shrug that was when something else hit her. "And that girl….I've seen her picture. She was the one you told me about wasn't it? The married one who supposedly 'broke your heart'? She obviously didn't do that good of job did she."

"I was...I mean I am still angry at her. Yes she hurt me but I can't hurt her back not like this. Not enough to let her die. Please just don't tell anyone. If they take her in she's going to be sent to death." He said looking at the dark haired girl who just shook her head at him.

"You! You Shikamaru Nara have NO right to ask anything of me. After everything I've ever done for you! I've cleaned, I've cooked, I've done your wash, I've made this house a home, I've made love to you in that bed down the hall countless time! Hell I did love you! And you, you repay everything I've done by hooking up with the person who ruined your life? And now you're going to ask me not tell anyone? I don't think so Shikamaru." She said looking at him.

"Please Amai." He was almost begging now she just shook her head before jumping out the open window before he could catch her. "FUCK!"
