Tsunade looked across the desk to the boy standing in her office. She couldn't help but flashback to that time he got promoted. That was the first time when she first really talked to the boy. He was a lot younger and lanker then with the worst attitude one that made her want to take a drink. Well it was almost like that but now the boy was now a full grown man and instead of getting a promotion he was in handcuffs surrounded by ANBU. That didn't stop that same annoying attitude on his face though or her urge to take a drink.

"I'd like to talk to the prisoner alone. You may stand outside" She said dismissing the ANBU before looking at the boy who still held a bored expression even in such a dire circumstance. Part of her expected this to happen but then again part of her was hoping he wouldn't be that stupid. Seemed she was wrong. Love always made people stupid.

He had to suppress a slight shiver as she used the word prisoner something that wasn't lost on the Hokage. He had brought many prisoners in himself in his career never once did he expect to be on that side of the arrest. But the thought of Temari made him realize he'd do it again if he had to.

"What the hell your problem? I warned you! You in particular about this!" Tsunade ranted but he didn't bother to reply besides what would there be to say. "You've never caused any real problems outside of being a pain in my ass but now you go and do this! You're going to prison and that's if the elders decided to be kind to you." She said taking a deep breath calming down slightly. "Your a smart boy. A really smart boy. So I need to ask why?"

He sighed now was the time for him to talk but the question was how much could he say. If he could have he would of fidgeted with his neck, a tendency he had when nervous, but with being handcuffed it was impossible. Instead he sufficed with just playing with his finger. "I'm sorry Hokage-sama but I couldn't leave her out there to die. Not like that. She didn't deserve this." He said quietly looking down at the floor.

"What is going on with her Shikamaru? I know you know why she left." She said putting her chin in her hands as she looked at the boy who shook his head.

"Someone tried…." He stopped correcting himself. "Is probably still going to try to kill her. Look I can't say anymore. It's not my place." He said she just let out a sigh as she stretched slightly before walking to the other side of the room looking at a book idly.

"Shikamaru you've always been bright and I trust your opinion immensely. But what has to be done has to be done. The Sand village will soon be informed we have her. Then they will be taking the most common route but not the most direct route here. They won't be rushing though she probably has 3 ½- 4 days tops before they come to collect her." She said putting the book away and moving to another turning her back to him. Something was off about her actions he noted paying attention to every detail that she said.

"And you, you're going to be arrested. I'm sorry but there is nothing I can do about that. It's not like you can break out of jail using that key I just happened to leave on my desk haphazardly. You know me sometimes I drink or I lose things." She said casually looking through the medical book he didn't need to be told twice as he quickly grabbed the key.

"You know you're probably going to have to wait to be admitted in, probably have to sit in the housing cell for a little while. But I'm sure you're in no rush and neither will they. They switch shifts at 4:57 so there will be 3 minutes where everything will be unmanned. But it's not like you can do much in that time because you don't have that key to sneak in." She said he nodded even though she couldn't see before hiding it under his tongue. "It's not like you'll be able to tell the time anyways there's no clock you'd have to find another source."

"But you deserve everything that is coming to you. And soon in only 3 days Temari will be reprimanded for what she did. It's just too bad she most likely can't state her case to her brothers. They'd be more lenient with her I'm sure." She said turning around going back to her desk sitting down looking at him.

"You understand the punishment coming correct?" She asked he just nodded to her not bothering to talk with the key in his mouth. She just smiled mouthing the words 'Good luck' before calling the ANBU back in to take him away.
