Chapter 30

I apologize for the long wait for this chapter. I've been busy and haven't had much time to write and also had some writer's block.

"Very good observations, Wylie." Jane grinned. "The pastor is after the young girls for sure." Wylie drove out to Jane and Lisbon's house after his venture to singles group. He had heard Lisbon disapproved of Jane's plan to get him involved. She sat at the table to listen while she was feeding the baby a bottle.

"He seems to ignore the girls who are prim and proper and likes the sinful lusty ones." Wylie announced excitedly.

"Who knows, maybe he has lectured and beat the ones who are dressing proper. But he hates sinful ones. My take is he wants to get his cake and eat it too, " Jane replied.

"We'll see what happens at the walk in the woods." Wylie replied.

"What a sleazebag. You've had me dress up in short skirts to attract mobsters." Lisbon said.

"You are an attractive woman, my dear. I won't let anyone touch you." Jane said.

"You think this will work and catch him in the act?" Lisbon asked in the car. Lisby Michelle rested quietly in the car seat in the backseat. She and Jane were parked outside the park with Fischer and Jackson waited in the SUV behind them.

"Of course, Wylie has it under control." Jane said.

"I thought you were done with this. Now here we are waiting for one of your plans to unfold." Lisbon smirked at her husband.

"Well," Jane started. "I'm doing it to help you out. You always end up calling for my help anyway. And yes, it gets a little boring being at home. As much as I love Lisby Michelle, she's not much of a conversationist yet."

"We really shouldn't be out this late with the baby." Lisbon noted.

"She's asleep now, so she's fine." Jane said.

Wylie arrived at the park at 9:00 ready once again for this undercover adventure. He couldn't wait to get his hair back to normal. When he arrived at the office the next day after Jane dyed his hair, many were afraid of or confused by this new look.

"You're Jason, right?" A female voice echoed behind him. Wylie looked behind him and saw the red haired girl from the other night. She was dressed in a jumper dress and wearing black leggings.

"Oh, hey, girl, you're Evelyn, right." Wylie said trying to get into the tough guy mode.

"Yes." Evelyn turned her head suspiciously. "You're not really this tough guy you try to present."

"I am one, I guarentee it." Wylie quickly said hoping he wouldn't blow his cover.

Pastor Nelson arrived soon after as well as Candy was dressed in in her usual sexy clothes this time with a short black leather skirt and a tie up leather camisole showing her cleavage.

"Hey, Jason. It looks like I matched you." She was referring to Wylie's leather jacket.

"Yeah." Wylie said as he accidently looked down.

Candy noticed his eye movement. "What are you looking at?"

"Nothing." Wylie said.

"Let's go for a walk." Nelson said noticing Candy talking to Wylie. " It's very nice for stargazing." Nelson said. Pastor Nelson led the group to an open area where the stars clearly lit up the sky. "Up there, is the Big Dipper, I'm sure you're familiar with it." Nelson explained.

"And that's Aries." Wylie pointed up.

"Oh, really, I didn't know that." Evelyn said.

"Oh, yeah, I remembered it from science class. There's cancer the crab." Wylie pointed up again.

"Well, it seems like my job's taken away." Pastor Nelson said slightly offended. "Up ahead is a table with some snacks." He pointed at the picnic table.

They stopped at a picnic table with plates of crackers and cheese, cookies and bars, liter pop bottles with the church secretary preparing it.

Right away the students sat around the table and started munching away at the snacks. Wylie didn't sit down with the group and Pastor Nelson came up to him. "Now it's quite something you know all those since you're still taking classes." Nelson responded to Wylie.

"Well, I've always been interested in science." Wylie admitted. Wylie slipped the bug he brought into Nelson's pocket when the man looked away. Over the course of time working with the team Jane taught him how to pick pocket and slip things in pockets quickly and quietly. It was certainly a skill he didn't know he needed.

"Wylie, it's about time you learn the art of pick pocketing." Jane went up to Wylie's desk when Wylie was working on the computer in the bullpen.

"You want me to learn it." Wylie questioned from the computer.

"Well, of course. You're going to be in the field more and I'm going to be here less soon with the baby coming soon. Somebody else needs to know how to do it." Jane looked at Wylie grinning.

"Jane, I don't think so. You're basically teaching me how to steal?" Wylie questioned.

"Wylie, don't think of it as stealing. Think of it as acquiring something you need from someone quickly without their knowledge." Jane said. "Come on, Wylie stand up and let me teach you."

"Okay." Wylie said standing up from the seat and going by Jane.

"Oh, you'll find it useful, believe me, one of these days. Don't tell Lisbon I'm teaching you this." Jane said.

Jane demonstrated a couple of times on Wylie with his wallet. Wylie tried it a couple of times with Jane. The first few times, Jane knew it but finally Wylie sucessfully pulled out Jane's wallet.

"Jane, do you think Wylie's okay. He's not as experienced in the field." Lisbon asked in the car. Lisby Michelle was asleeping in her car seat.

"I just told you. Wylie's a big boy. He's fine." Jane said.

"You're always so sure. Something could happen." Lisbon said.

" And you're too worried, Negative Nancy Drew. Teresa, yes, something could happen, but he'll be fine. You're acting like he's your kid." Jane said.

"I don't think so." Lisbon said. " And you're the reason for it most of the time." Lisbon smirked.

A scream sounded close by the street and Jane and Lisbon jumped. Lisby Michelle burst into a fit of crying.

"Oh, great the baby's awake."Lisbon reacted and quickly opened the door on her side and opened the backseat door by Lisby Michelle.

"I'll go see." Jane immediately jumped out of the driver's side.

"Oh, no you don't." Lisbon yelled to stop him. He stopped. "I'm the agent. We need to call Fischer." Lisbon said. "Who's going to stay with the baby?"

Wylie returned to the picnic table and grabbed the crackers. He looked around for Nelson but he was gone along with Candy. He knew there was going to be trouble. He listened with the bug in his ear and heard walking.

Nelson led Candy to the end of the park. He was going to fix her. She couldn't change and she was always going to be a slut. That's what his father said. The moon shined bright and the visions of the past flashed before his eyes.

"Eric, I love you." Staci looked him in the eyes while they were sitting on the bench in the park and he looked back.

"I want to be with you. My father doesn't approve of you." Eric said sadly.

"It's because I want to be educated and he thinks women shouldn't be." Staci said.

"We'll be together." Eric placed his hand on Staci's.

Nelson took Candy's hand. She reminded him of Staci.

"Son, you've got to stop seeing that girl. She's a slut." Eric's father said.

"I've done what you want to do. I love her." Eric said.

"Listen to me. She's not the right type of woman." His father said.

"I can love who I want." Eric said.

A couple days later...

Eric came home from the library. He saw through the window which what looked like to be his father and Staci engrossed in a private conversation too close for comfort for him. Eric's eyes burned with anger and jealousy.

"What's going on?" Eric burst into the door with the door slamming shut. Staci and his father noticed him.

"Oh, it's nothing." His father said with a sneer.

"I'm sorry, Eric. It's not what it looks like." Staci said.

That was it. He couldn't handle it. They would pay for their foolishness.

The next day he noticed the police at the house while he drove by and at that instant he pulled on his sunglasses.

Wylie listened in the earphone and heard Pastor Nelson and Candy speaking. The conversation was very limited more like one sided. Candy kept on flirting and talking about nothing. Nelson kept silent.

Wylie carefully headed towards the area he thought the voices were coming from. He quietly notified Fischer about Candy and Nelson. He heard rustling in the trees. A sparrow flew out. He hid behind a tree when he saw Pastor Nelson and Candy. This time he saw Nelson grabbing tightly to Candy's arms. Her face winced with pain. She moved her arm to get free.

Fischer and Jackson walked through the park and heard Wylie's call. They were dressed in casual to make it think they were just regular people walking in the park. She called Lisbon and told her they were ready for action.

"Let go." Candy yelled. "What happened?" It appeared she was confused by his sudden roughness.

"You asked for this." Nelson said. "Dressed the way you are."

Wylie noticed a scarf tied around her neck . Nelson clinched tightly. Her veins bulged with fear. Nelson was planning to kill her.

"My father told me about girls like you." Nelson said angrily.

"Then why did you take me here?" Candy asked shakily.

"To teach you a lesson. You come here with your sexy clothes."Nelson said. "Women like you are not worthy."

Wylie immediately walked in on the scene. Nelson had a light hold of Candy's neck when Wylie walked in. He heard her muffled scream but then she calmed down. Their eyes rose up on him.

"Is everything okay at the snack table? Got enough food?" Nelson asked nonchalantly as if the argument didn't happen letting go of Candy's arm.

"It's fine. What are you two doing out here?" Wylie said trying not to act as if he didn't know.

"Oh, just enjoying the stars, right, Candy?" Nelson said. Candy put on a fake smile hiding her anguish.

Wylie pretended to turn to leave and suddenly another scream sounded. He turned around, noticed Pastor Nelson taking a hold of Candy's neck. Wylie instantly out of his gut instinct dove onto the Nelson. Nelson fought back fiercely trying to grab Wylie's arm. "You're not going to do it this time."

Fischer and Lisbon burst onto the scene. Lisbon and Fischer gave a glance to each other surprised to see Wylie tackling the suspect. Fischer ran over and grabbed Nelson on the shoulder, pulled his arms back, took handcuffs and hooked his hands in the cuffs. "You're under arrest." Lisbon went to Candy and calmed her down.

"I was doing what I needed to do." Nelson said.

"Sure, tell that to the state prison." Fischer said sarcastically.

Fischer took Nelson to the FBI vehicle parked next to Jane and Lisbon's car. Fischer put Nelson inside the back seat. Jackson, Fischer's partner from Seattle was in the back seat waiting for Nelson. Lisbon took a look inside their car and in the passenger sat Jane sleeping with his seat pulled back and laying on his chest was Lisby Michelle calmly sleeping with a pacifier in her mouth sucking.

"Looks like he's all tired out." Lisbon said.

Fischer smiled at the scene. "What a wonderful picture. Never thought I'd lived to see the day." She smirked. "We got the guy. Thanks to Jane and Wylie." Fischer said seeing Wylie coming. "You really surprised us Wylie."

"It was nothing." Wylie said. "I did what was needed."

Lisbon opened the door of the car. "Jane." Lisbon nudged her husband with her hand.

He looked at her sleepily yawning in the process. "What happened?"

"We got him. We need to put her back in the car seat." Lisbon said.

"I know. This was the only way to get her back to sleep."

The next day Wylie was still scrubbing off some of the black dye in hair.

"Are you getting that out?" Lisbon asked as she walked into the office.

"Yeah, Jane and his ideas." Wylie said.

"Oh, I know. You did very well, Wylie. I'm impressed. I didn't know you could tackle like that." Lisbon said.

"I didn't either." Wylie said. Lisbon walked back to her desk and started on some paperwork that needed done.

A few minutes later, Candy and Evelyn came in the bullpen. They stopped at Lisbon's desk and walked past Wylie not realizing he was also itting there. He turned to look as they walked to the desk.

"May I help you?" Lisbon asked as she looked up from her own computer.

"We're looking for Jason. He's really FBI." Evelyn said.

"Yes, he was undercover to find a killer." Lisbon admitted.

"Can we talk to him?" Candy asked.

"Of course, he's right behind you at the computer." Lisbon pointed.

The girls turned around surprised to see Wylie back to his blonde hair, button up shirt, and dress pants sans black jacket and jeans.

"I didn't recognize you." Evelyn said.

"It's me." Wylie said.

"I wanted to thank you for saving my life. Who would've thought a pastor would be a killer. I didn't help much." Candy said. "My name is Candace." Candy this time was casually dressed in a plain t-shirt and jeans-nothing provacative.

"Even the rest of the church was surprised." Evelyn said. "Yes, Jason, you're our hero. Besides not only you're cool as a black head, you're cool as a blonde."

I'm sorry for not a lot of Jane and Lisbon but I wanted Wylie to get some action. The suspect point of view is there because I've watched some Criminal Minds episodes. Feedback is appreciated.
