Chapter Twenty-Two: Lily

~Amaya's POV~

'Thoughts'

'Talking thoughts'

The first thing I became aware of as I regained consciousness was a blooming pain in the back of my head.

"Uurgh…" I moaned moving my arm to touch my head. That was when I became aware of the weigh on my arms… and legs. Followed by the itching and the feeling of being as weak as a kitten. Full alertness crashed upon me as my eyes opened wide. I was curled on the ground in a loose fetal position.

My arms and legs were pinned but my head was somewhat free to move around. The dim light was worse than any bright light as I took in the shadowy and hopeless feeling décor. Bars rose up from the ground in a square jail cell that was large enough to allow two big men to move about freely. The knowledge told me there were no doors. Someone probably had to perform a spell to open this thing.

'Itachi! Nagato! Kakash!... Guys, can you hear me?' The connection between us buzzed like it was static. 'Guys! Get me out of here!'

Nothing. Which meant I was stuck here with no way to contact my familiars or the others. Great.

My body started to jerk as half of me started to freak out just from pure animal instinct. I jerked at my wrists ignoring the pain of the iron as it cut into my skin and bones.

'Calm down you idiot.' I thought before I could let loose the moan that was about to escape. 'Calm down. You're still alive; you're not locked in a wooden box underground somewhere. You're okay. As long as you're alive you have a chance of escaping.'

I slowly stopped fighting and took that time to calm my ragged breathing before someone or something heard me.

'Too late.' My eyes widened as I looked around trying to find whoever had spoken in my head. 'Look to your left. About two cages up.' I did as the voice ordered, noting the other cages I could now see.

I wasn't the only one in a cage as I could make out a faint dark object on the floors, most likely curled like I was. I strained my eyes to see other cages outside of my own. They were all aligned like mine was, only since I couldn't hear anything I assumed they were asleep or pretending.

'They're asleep. We're the only two awake right now.' My eyes darted to the cage where I spied a boy, probably no more than thirteen, lying on the ground in the same position I was in. Only his cage was made of wood.

'So you're a vampire. Who are you? Where am I?' I asked sticking to my training.

'Name's Ethan. And I don't know where we are Witch.' I could've sweat-dropped at the lack of information. I managed to get stuck with a sarcastic vampire. 'I'm not sarcastic, I'm only being realistic.'

'Do you have any valuable information?' I tugged at my bonds once more as my hips were starting to wake up and the numbness was painful.

'I have a lot of information, but I doubt it would be useful in our situation. What I would like to know is why you are in here. Guardians aren't known for being captured so easily.'

'I didn't exactly have a choice you know.' I mentally growled as my mind flashed through the last things I had been doing; fighting Damon who had somehow gained the powers of a demon or a powerful witch. None of that was good news in the least but at least I could lie to myself for a little longer.

'Lying does nothing to help the situation.' I glared at him

'If you have anything useful about how we get out of here then please, by all means, share with the class.'

'I have nothing. I just woke up a few minutes before you did.'

'Great.' I relaxed my body trying to stop wasting my energy. I'd need it for something later. 'So Ethan, why were you taken?'

'I don't know.'

'What were you doing before you were captured?' I asked trying to not let my irritation color my thoughts. He heard as his 'voice' was amused and less hostile.

'I was minding my own business in The Black Dahlia. I was meeting someone.'

'Why were you meeting someone? Who were you meeting?'

'I doubt that information would help you.'

'You never know you stiff corpse.' His lips twitched slightly from where I could see.

'I was meeting a friend. Kyle.' The name was more of a sigh than anything. Which got me thinking about Itachi and how much I missed him.

'Wait, Kyle Bright?' I thought suddenly. Ethan's violet eyes opened to stare at me.

'You know him?'

'He's a friend.' I blinked. "How do you-" A clang sounded cutting off my voice as Ethan went back to playing opossum and I relaxed my body enough to make it look like I was sleeping.

It sounded like someone was wearing high heels as whomever it was walked down the long row of prisoners who were still asleep. I expected whoever it was to walk past me but when the heels stopped they were in front of my cell. At least I think it was the front.

"Hello Amaya. It's about time you woke up." A sweet honeyed voice called softly. Despite how comforting the voice sounded it lacked warmth, true warmth. It sent chills down my spine as I blinked my eyes open to see a woman in a red formal dress with golden bracelets and long black hair with green eyes staring at me. Her beauty was as cold as the look in her eyes despite her tone. I felt my body relaxing but I didn't trust her for a second.

"Am I dead yet?" I murmured. Her full blood red lips quirked.

"No. You are very much alive." Well that explained the burning on my wrists and ankles, Hell would have been much warmer I think as I shifted slightly on the cold stone trying and failing to try and protect myself.

"Where am I?" I asked glaring up at her.

"Underground." She smiled again. "I'm sure you understand that I can't tell you exactly where. Not that it would matter but I've learned not to underestimate you Witches."

"Your assumption is correct." I growled. "So who are you and what the hell did I do to piss you off? I don't think I've met you before unless you were in another body." She waved her hand.

"We've never met. And this body just so happens to be my very own. At least for now." She started to slowly pace back and forth in front of my cell. "My name is Lily."

"I think we both know that your name isn't really Lily." I snorted, wincing at the pains of moving. My energy was being drained. If I kept talking I'd pass out again soon.

"True, but I believe you'll be able to figure out my real name soon enough." Lily stopped pacing to stand straight. "Until then I have a few questions to ask you Amaya Black." Okay the hissing of my last name was a little much.

"Do you really think I'm going to tell you anything?" I asked.

"No, but if you want to save yourself from a lot of pain then you'll tell me where the Mirror of Lilith is." Well wasn't that a bucket of cold water to the face. I stared at Lily hard.

"Why would you want that? It's worthless to any demon other than…" I mentally smacked myself. The Mirror was worthless to demons, but to The Demon who'd created it, it was pure evil. "So that's who you are." I murmured. Lilith smiled sweetly.

"I told you you'd figure it out. Not tell me where my precious mirror is."

"How are you even out of Purgatory? The spell-"

"The spell was only supposed to last as long as your family lineage stayed pure and good." Lilith interrupted looking at her nails. "I guess mommy dearest forgot that little detail when she went and turned Dark didn't she?"

"Leave my mother out of this." I snarled. Her green eyes glinted but she didn't pursue it. The fact that she didn't scared me a little. But you know what they say, Demons smell fear, and I wasn't going to give her any more than I had already done.

"Touchy, touchy… but I can see the point. Now let me ask you again, where is my mirror?" I glared at her.

"Why are you even asking? It's not like you can touch it." She growled and hit the bars. The clanging sounded louder than normal but that wasn't the point. Iron dust fell from the ceiling and settled on my exposed skin (how the hell had I gotten into a sports bra and shorts?) and burned me. I jerked letting a yelp escape as the iron burned my skin.

"You b*tch!" I spat.

"Language." She tutted. "I might have to punish you again." Before I could interrupt and yell /scream at her another voice interrupted me.

"I think you've had your fun Milady, wouldn't you agree?" My eyes darted to the side to see Damon grinning. Only… his eyes weren't his, they were full on black. The eyes of a demon. Well this was going to be a problem… well, okay, not really. "Hello Maya."

"You're not Damon."

"Correct." Demon grinned. Lily took that moment to interrupt by running her hands over Demon. Which was just gross.

"Damon was getting a bit too hard to handle, so I had Azazel take over."

"Thank you My Lady." Azazel bowed before looking at me with Damon's regular eyes. "Would you like me to get her to loosen her tongue?"

"If you would. I have a full schedule and unfortunately Damien and Daniel didn't schedule in torturing." She pecked Azazel's lips before looking at me. "I suggest you loosen up Amaya. Guardians may know a thing or two about torture but demons invented the sport. I wouldn't want you to die earlier than expected."

"'Earlier than expected'?" I repeated lowly.

"Mmm, sorry but that's confidential information." She turned on her heels and click-clacked away. I turned to Azazel who was watching me with a predatory gleam in his eyes.

"I've always dreamed of torturing a Guardian. You're all a self-righteous bunch and none of you end up in Hell." He pulled out a purple glass knife and ran his finger along it. Blood dripped out of his finger from the wound. "Do you enjoy foreplay?"

I tugged on the iron restraints.

'Guys! Now would be a very good time to come and help me!'

"When this is over, I can promise you I'll personally be sending you back to Hell." I grunted as he came closer. His smile widened.

"When this is over, I can promise you won't even remember your own name." I stilled as he ran the knife along my collar bone. "But first, I think we should prepare you." He lifted the knife and swung down.

'ITACHI!'

I screamed in pain.

GM NASAI: I have to say, I love the Cliffhanger no jutsu. It's... very evil and yet fun.

I'm not sure about you guys but I think this is a bit dark... I'm going on six hours of sleep here. My brain is slowly turning into a zombie. But I still feel happy that I managed to update. I was thinking about this chapter a lot and my computer kept deleting every single entry I wanted so I was about to smash my laptop into the sidewalk. Thank kami I didn't otherwise I'd have updated in December or something. I wanted to put some more into this chapter but since Amaya's captured there's not much I could do with it. Next chapter will be longer, promise!
