You guys are the greatest. Thank you so much. I appreciate you all more than you realize. Because of you, I've not been drowning myself in my sorrows. You keep my mind active; well, you guys and the job. I don't have time to cry and hide out in my bedroom. I'm still missing him every day but it's getting easier. You guys and this story are my therapy. Oh, and my job.
I have two more long chapters that I have to edit and as soon as they're done, I'll get them posted. They're not the last two chapters of the story. I'm just trying to write ahead so that I can keep the creative juices flowing. Thank you all so much.
Thank you.
"Don't be afraid to show that you love one another. Love doesn't make you weak. Love gives you strength and determination. Let them all see that you and your vampire will stand together. Let them see what belongs to you. Let them know that you will do anything to protect what is yours."
Eric and Sookie were the last ones to be presented to the monarchs. As they waited their turn, they had impassive looks on their faces. Their eyes were blank but the bond was filled with excitement.
As she watched them, Sookie could see the look of amazement in the eyes of their peers as they openly gawked at the vampire and the fae. She could hear that some of them noticed the similarities in them that weren't there before; the hair color, eye color, and they more than noticed their incessant need to touch one another. They could all tell that something had happened within their relationship since the last summit. And they were all dying to find out what it was.
She looked up at Eric with a concerned look on her face. "Do you think they can tell?"
Eric looked thoughtfully at her as he admired his wife's appearance. Her dress was flawless and perfect. It flowed beautifully over her body. She had not a single hair out of place. She smelled of pure love. She looked absolutely divine. She was the most delectable thing he'd ever seen. "In us, I can damn well guarantee it but you with you, no my lover," he answered with a smile. "They'll never know."
When Sookie met with Andromeda, she explained to her what had transpired during the night. She'd woken up to find that her stomach was not as flat as it was when she'd gone to bed. It had grown a little during the night. She was more than surprised at what she'd seen. They'd expected that they'd be able to keep their secret until after the takeover but they may have jumped to the wrong conclusion. If her grandmother was still alive … but she wasn't and there was nothing that she could do about it. This was something that Sookie would have to figure it out on her own.
After talking things over with Andromeda, Sookie realized why the changes were happening so rapidly. It was the love and the closeness that Eric and Sookie share. The change in the fae was inevitable.
"Are Chow and Selene ready?" Sookie asked.
Eric looked down at her and smiled. "Yes. While you were dressing this evening, they called to say that they were already here."
Sookie looked around the room as she asked him, "Did you notice that Bernie is here tonight? Daniel and his crew must have been right when they said that she was going to relinquish her seat."
Eric nodded. "Supe gossip may have had a little truth in it after all," Eric said. "I've also noticed that a few other prominent shifters are here."
Sookie sighed and squeezed his hand. "This is going to be an eventful night," she whispered.
"Undeniably," Eric stated as he and Sookie were presented before the first monarch.
They presented themselves to Sandy Sechrest but she seemed preoccupied with whatever was happening on the other side of the room. More likely than not, she'd eyed a human that she wanted for the night. Sookie and Eric greeted her with the standard bow. She gave them a quick wave and sent them on their way. Her eyes remained glued on the other side of the room. They followed her eyes and realized that she had found something the she liked; a tall, dark, and quite beautiful brunette. Tonight, the human was going to be hers.
The next monarch that they were presented to surprised them both. They know that he has his own kingdom but had no idea that he'd be sitting in on the meeting tonight.
"Godric," Eric said. "I'm surprised to see you here. I believed you to have returned to California."
He smiled cockily. "Unfortunately, I haven't had the chance to return home. I had business to take care of here and last night, André called me to see if I'd sit in on the meeting concerning the police update. And since Felipe and Russell couldn't be here, I couldn't very well turn him down; especially when I'd have the opportunity to see your beautiful wife again."
Let the games begin, Eric thought.
"Good evening, Mrs. Northman," Godric said to her as he admired her. "You're just as beautiful tonight as you were at the Black and White Ball." He then closed his eyes and inhaled. "Faeries always smell delectable this time of year. I hope to be able to dance with you tonight. I don't recall dancing with you at our last meeting."
She bowed to him as elegantly as ever. "Thank you, Godric. And if I remember correctly, you were too busy concerning yourself with the state of my marriage to ask me to dance. That seemed to be the only thing that was on your mind."
"Ah, indeed I was. Indeed I was." He then nodded at the memory. "I'm sorry to hear of your unfortunate run in with the shifters this evening. I would kill them myself if allowed. Something as precious as you are, should never have to deal with such atrocities."
Sookie's bullshit detector was going off a mile a minute but still, she smiled. "I am fine and I'm more than capable of taking care of myself."
With a lecherous grin on his face, he said, "I can see that. I also see that you and the Viking are looking closer than usual. I can safely assume that you two are doing well."
"We are," Eric answered.
"I can also assume that saving a dance for me later on tonight is well out of the question," Godric said as he ignored Eric's comment.
Eric looked at the vampire with cold eyes. "I don't mind telling you, old enemy, that all of her dances have been reserved … for me. Sookie is mine." He gave Godric a friendly smile as he pulled her into the comfort and protection of his body.
Godric looked at Eric calmly. "You're not going to hog all of her attention, are you?"
"I am." Eric didn't like the gleam in Godric's eyes as he stared at Sookie. He noticed how the vampire licked his lips as he looked her; all the while glaring at Eric from the corner of his eye. There was no way that Godric was going to touch her.
Staring squarely into Eric's eyes, Godric said, "Don't tell me that you're jealous, Eric." A cool and calculated laugh escaped him. "Have I stumbled upon your Achilles' heel?"
Eric laughed heartily; all the while evading the question. "I have no qualms about you or anyone else dancing with my lovely wife. Many important vampires have danced with her but tonight, she is mine. I've been so busy with the police and other vampire business that I haven't had much time to spend with her. I am more than willing to hog all of her time regardless of what any of you think. You do understand?"
"I do," he replied. Needless to say, ne noticed that Eric evaded his question but he didn't bother to mention it.
Eric took the opportunity to kiss Sookie softly, lovingly. He could feel Godric's eyes on them. As he looked into her eyes, he said, "Tonight, belongs to us. Tonight, I wish to keep her all to myself ... if you don't mind, my lover."
She looked up at him and smiled. She devotedly placed her hand on his chest. "No. I don't mind at all. I want nothing more." Sookie sent him a blast of love. She was so very proud of Eric. He'd composed himself beautifully.
"Shall we move on, my lover?"
"Good evening, Godric," Sookie said with a bow as she and Eric moved on down the line.
The next monarch they were greeted by was Shiloh, the Queen of Montana. She smiled brightly at the Northmans. "It's always a pleasure seeing you two. Sookie, you look absolutely delicious tonight and you smell gorgeous." She let her eyes travel over Sookie's body. "Your dress is quite beautiful. Not quite what I expected but beautiful just the same. I've always believed you to look absolutely beautiful in those form fitting dresses but this one is gorgeous. Wherever did you find it?"
Sookie looked down at her flowing gown and smiled. She's always been partial to it. Her grandmother had it made especially for her. She let her fingers trace over the white one shouldered beaded gown as she remembered the night her grandmother gave it to her. It was the night before her and Eric's engagement party. She remembered how it flowed softly over her body. Adele told her to let her future husband wonder what was underneath. Never show too much.
She then looked at Shiloh and smiled as she remembered her grandmother's sage words. "My grandmother gave this to me. I've always loved this gown."
Shiloh reached out and placed her hand on Sookie's arm. She began to stroke it. "Adele was a wonderful woman."
"Thank you," Sookie replied as she stepped away from the queen's touch and back into the safety of Eric's arms.
Shiloh tore her eyes away from Sookie and turned her attentions to Eric. She noticed the angry look on his face but ignored it. "How are you doing this evening, Eric?"
Eric gave Shiloh a deep nod. "I'm very well. I hope that you feel the same." She could see in his eyes and hear in his voice that he didn't mean a single word that he'd said.
"Now that your child is no longer in my queendom, I'm over the fucking moon. How has the conniving little bitch been?" Shiloh sneered as the very thought of saying Freyda's name sickened her.
"I haven't a clue."
Shiloh looked surprised. "I thought that she was living in your area. Did you not throw the Black and White Ball in her honor?"
"A mistake that I have since corrected," he answered.
"I'm glad that you've finally seen her for what she is. She's nothing more than a pain in our asses. Hopefully, she's met the true death," Shiloh muttered. "The meeting should start just as soon as André arrives. If he arrives," she added. She looked over Eric's and Sookie's shoulders and rolled her eyes. "I can only assume that this is another meeting that he'll be missing. I see that Sophie Ann is here."
They all looked in the direction of André's second as she hurriedly walked over to join them. She stared at everyone around her before stopping in front of Eric. Her childish face was very deceptive. Her pale green eyes and beautiful red hair made her look like an innocent teenager of years past. She was anything. She had the eyes of a shark and the personality to match. Sophie Ann has the reputation of being a vicious killer but her age and inexperience as a leader make her an easy target for her elders.
"Sophie," Shiloh said in her snobbiest tone "No hello?"
Absently and coolly, she said, "Hello."
"Where's André, Sophie?" Shiloh asked.
She rolled her pale green eyes at Shiloh. "My name is Sophie Ann and he can't make it." As an afterthought, she said, "He's busy."
Joining in on the conversation, Godric said, "That's no surprise. Even calling the meeting at his compound can't make him show up." Godric laughed as he shook his head. "He's called several meetings and hasn't bothered to attend a single one. I, for one, didn't expect tonight to be any different." Taking Shiloh's hand, he said, "Come. Let's get a snack while we wait, shall we?"
Sookie and Eric watched as the two vampires walked in the direction of the human buffet bar. The vampire and the fae forgot that Sophie Ann was standing there with them. They dismissed her just as the others had. They only had eyes for each other.
"Want to dance?" Sookie asked Eric.
"I'd love to."
"Excuse me. I'm standing right here."
Eric and Sookie looked at her with blank stares.
"Can the dance wait?" Sophie Ann said. "I need to talk to Eric." She looked dismissively at Sookie. "Would you mind going over there somewhere so that Eric and I can talk?"
The way Sophie Ann dismissed her, angered Sookie but she smiled and calmed herself. She took Eric's hand in hers and smiled up at him. "Under different circumstances, I'd request that she receive forty lashes with the silver whip for dismissing me as she has but for now, I'll go and speak with some of our acquaintances. I see quite a few familiar faces. You two go on and take care of whatever needs to be taken care of."
Eric wouldn't release her hand when she tried to walk away. "You don't have to go, lover. Whatever Sophie Ann has to say to me, she can say in front of you." He looked at the vampiress and said, "She is of no consequence."
"It's alright, Eric. When you're done, you'll know where to find me."
Eric leaned down and kissed her before she walked away. He quickly turned to face Sophie Ann. "You will be punished for disrespecting her. I don't give a fuck if you are sitting in for André. I should have you whipped with silver right now."
Sophie Ann moved in closer to Eric. She looked up at him and into his eyes. He was surprised at what he saw … fear. "I'm not concerned with any punishment. I'd rather be punished than killed. I've lived for two hundred years and I'm in no hurry to die, Eric. That's why I'm here. I need you."
Eric was more than intrigued by that statement. He stood before the diminutive vampire and crossed his arms over his massive chest. "Tell me."
"André's not coming … again and you know why. You've see him."
A smirk appeared on Eric's face. "When I last saw him, he seemed just fine. He all but threatened me. His color wasn't quite the same but he looked as healthy as expected."
Sophie Ann shook her head. "Whatever he's doing, it's not enough and he's not coming. He told me to tell everyone that he has been called away on business." She looked around before she finished speaking. "He's upstairs locked away in his secret room watching us. I don't know how much longer we're going to be able to keep this quiet."
Fear filled her normally strong voice and she had every cause to be afraid. Three of the strongest vampires in their world were there tonight and that included Eric. She didn't want to have to ask either of them for help but she had to. Out of the three, Eric was the one most likely to help her without the notion to kill her. The others, they were old and they were power hungry. André hasn't been to a summit meeting or a punishment hearing in months. One of them will definitely start having ideas if they haven't already. André's seat is golden and they will do anything to take it. The chance to have power over the supernatural world … what vampire wouldn't jump at that chance?
"What am I going to do?" Her eyes were wide with fear. "If they haven't thought of it already, they're going to want his seat and they're going to kill me in order to get to it. And once I'm gone, my master is sure to follow. I need protection, Eric. I need your protection."
Eric's eyes flitted around the room. He noticed that Godric, Sandy and Shiloh were watching them. Their faces were blank but their eyes were filled with wonder. They knew that something was wrong and they were more than ready to pounce. And if he didn't offer Sophie Ann his protection, the young vampiress would be dead by night's end. No matter how he felt about her, he needed to do what is necessary. He and Sookie need to take control of that seat. They need control of the council. The AP told him that when the time comes, André's death would have to be swift. He can't hesitate. Eric knew that he had to take whatever opportunity that was presented to him if he wanted to succeed.
"Well," she goaded impatiently. "Are you going to help me or not?"
Eric looked down at the vampire. "We will keep you safe but I promise you, Sophie Ann, if you have planned to set us up, your plan will not come to fruition. You won't have to worry about Godric, Sandy, or Shiloh. I will rip your fucking head off. Have I made myself clear?"
She could see in his eyes that he more than meant it. "Crystal," she whispered as relief filled her eyes. "Thank you, Eric."
He smiled evilly at her. "Don't think that my protection comes free. You owe us now and you will pay."
He said nothing else to her. He left Sophie Ann standing alone in the middle of the floor while he went for Sookie. Just as he reached her, the sound of the gong filled the room. The update and punishment hearing was about to begin. The guests in attendance scurried to their seats. Sophie Ann hurried to the stage to join the others. Sookie and Eric walked upon the stage and took the two chairs to the left of the stage. The monarchs were standing in front of the long table that was displayed in the center of the stage.
The gong sounded again.
The leaders of tonight's council meeting took their seats.
"This evening, I will be standing in for André," Sophie Ann announced. "He was called away tonight. He has very important business to attend to and until he is able to focus all of his attention on the council, he felt it necessary that I be here." She looked at Eric and Sookie before she acknowledged the monarchs. She gave them each a nod and took her seat.
Godric was the first to speak. "Should we be concerned? André has missed several meetings … two of the primary summits and at least three of the update and punishment meetings. What is going on with your master, Sophie Ann?"
The loudest one ...
Her face was blank as she spoke. "As I said before, he was called away for an emergency."
Resting his elbows on the table, he leaned forward and looked out into the small group of vampires. "Why is it that we never hear of these so called emergency meetings that André is always called away to? Why is it that we are never made aware of the outcome? Is he hiding something?"
"They're personal," Sophie Ann answered. "And André has always been upfront with us. He wouldn't hide anything." Even she didn't believe that lie as it passed her lips.
Godric ignore his underling as he continued on with his rant. "If he can't hold his position, we need to find someone who can. It's more than obvious that André is struggling to do his job. There are girls that are missing in his state. The police believe our kind to be involved. It's apparent that the New Orleans streets have fallen victim to a leader that can no longer lead."
Looking at Eric, Godric stated, "He goes outside of his city and sends for the representatives to work with the police instead of using his own team. Does he not trust his own people? Is he under the impression that it is someone from within his retinue responsible for the missing girls? One has to wonder what André is hiding." He leaned back in his seat. "We need to have an emergency meeting and the AP needs to be called to attend."
Sophie Ann's normally cool face showed a flash of nervousness. "I'll pass that along to André and ask him when would be a good time for him. I'm sure he'll want to be here."
Shiloh laughed. "He couldn't even bother to be here tonight at a meeting that he called at his compound to discuss the information that Eric and Sookie got from the police and you want to 'pass that along'? His approval is not needed. His presence will not be needed. An emergency meeting can be called without his permission." She looked at Sophie Ann and shook her head in disbelief. "You are his second and you didn't know this? You're as incompetent as your master." She didn't give the young vampiress a chance to reply. "Two weeks from today … the emergency meeting will be two weeks from today. I'll call the AP tonight and request her appearance."
"But he's still the head of the council," Sophie Ann protested. "We have to give him the courtesy …"
Shiloh sneered. "Courtesy? Do you mean the same courtesy that he has bestowed upon us when he didn't tell us that he wasn't coming tonight? Is that the courtesy you're speaking of?"
Sophie Ann said nothing.
"Does he even know that he's still the head of the council?" She laughed loudly at her question. "Ignore that question. It's more than obvious that he doesn't. Now, when you return to your master, let him know what we've done."
Sophie Ann looked at her superior. "Yes, your highness. I'll tell him of the emergency meeting."
"Fine. The meeting will be two weeks from tonight. On to the business at hand," Sandy announced. "The meeting was called because André sent the Northman and his faery to the police station to get information on the missing girls. Since our kind is suspected to be involved, we need to know what they know. Eric, come forth and tell us what you've learned."
As he released her hand, Sookie sat tall in her seat as Eric strolled smoothly to speak with the members of the board. He looked absolutely spectacular; her Viking. He spoke clearly and with confidence. His blazing blue eyes were as cold as ever. He gave them just enough to pacify them. When he was done, the members of the board knew no more than the police officers knew.
"Have you gone to the club to speak with any of the vampires?" Shiloh asked Eric.
"I was to go tonight but because of the impromptu meeting, I had to postpone it. André said that I needed to be here instead. He said that this was much more important."
Sandy frowned. And for the first time tonight, she looked interested in what was going on around her. "Are you sure that André said that this punishment meeting is much more important than clearing the name of our race? He'd rather you be here than doing what he's requested of you?"
"I am," Eric answered.
Sandy looked confused. "You weren't needed. Your wife could've given us the information. Was she not there with you?"
"She was," Eric confirmed.
Sophie Ann opened her mouth to speak but the look that Godric gave her caused her to close her mouth without saying a word.
"It makes no sense as to why you couldn't be there. Your wife could have handled this alone." Shiloh said and needless to say, she was beyond pissed. Godric was staring at Sookie as he nodded in agreement with Shiloh. Eric noticed.
"I've only done what was requested of me."
"When do you meet with the police officers again?" Godric asked as he tore his eyes away from Sookie.
"In a couple of nights … they believe that we will keep them updated and tell them of anything that we find. As long as they believe that, we will know what they know." Eric was doing his best to keep his anger under wraps.
"Do you have any clues thus far?" Shiloh asked.
"A few but nothing definite," Eric stated. "There is no proof that vampires are involved. We know that each of the girls frequented the vampire bar called The Coffin. We know that they had been seen in the company of vampires but there is no definite proof that they were taken by vampires."
Godric nodded. "Keep us posted."
"I will."
The faces of the monarchs remained cold but their eyes were filled with more questions. "Thank you, Eric. You may be seated," Sandy ordered.
When he returned to his seat, he touched Sookie's bare shoulder with his finger. She shivered uncontrollably. She stared at him longingly. The slightest touch of her husband's hand and she knew that she was gone.
"Sookie," Godric called. "Please, come and stand before me."
The call of her name shook her out of her reverie. She walked to the table of monarchs and stood before them. As she waited, they read over the documents that were submitted in regards to the events with the shifters. One by one, they put the documents down and stared at the faery.
"The AP informs us that you were ambushed today by a local shifter pack. Is that true?" Sandy asked.
"Yes, your highness."
"Explain," Sandy ordered.
"Yes, your highness." She then added, "It may be better if I show you." She reached out for Sandy's hand.
Before Sandy could offer Sookie her hand, Godric spoke up. "Show me," he said. "Hold my hand and show me."
Godric gave Eric a quick look and a smirk. Eric was doing all that he could to remain calm. He knew that he wasn't supposed to lose control. He'd promised Sookie that he'd be good but Godric was pushing him to his very limits.
In order to calm him, Sookie sent Eric a wave of love and warmth. She then offered her hand to Godric. "Are you ready, your highness?"
Instead of remaining seated and taking her hand, Godric stood up from his seat and walked around the table. He stood in front of Sookie and looked down at her as he took her hand.
Eric stood up and growled. Before he could take a step in Godric's direction, Shiloh stopped him. "Take your seat, Northman. This is protocol. He hasn't overstepped his boundaries."
Begrudgingly and slowly, Eric sat down but he kept a watchful eye on his sworn enemy. If Godric made one wrong move, he was going to make sure that he would pay for his slight.
"Show me," he whispered.
The images of the shifter meeting played in his mind. He heard their nefarious plan to blackmail the vampires into giving them what they wanted. The idea of killing Bernie's replacement and possibly killing her son; he saw it all. He saw the disrespect that Sookie suffered at the hands of the now dead Hondo and how beautifully she handled herself.
When the image was done, Sookie tried taking her hand away from Godric but he tightened his grip.
Eric's anger began to rise to an obscene level. Sookie tried countering it was calm but it wasn't working. He stood up from his seat and stood behind her; his eyes burning a hole into his enemies face. "Release her now," Eric ordered.
"Do it, Godric," Shiloh ordered. She was now standing behind Godric. "You know the laws. Release your hold of the faery or meet the true death."
Feigning innocence, Godric said, "I wasn't quite sure that the images were over. My apologies, Northman." He gave a quick nod and smiled as he returned to his seat.
Eric continued to stare at Godric. He wanted to kill him. He wanted the vampire to meet his end and slowly. He wanted to be the one to hand down the sentence. As he stared at Godric, he dropped his fangs in anticipation.
"Be seated, Eric," Shiloh ordered. "There is no need for revenge. His touching of her was valid." She looked at Sookie. "Were you harmed in any way, Sookie?"
"No, your highness," Sookie answered.
"Good," she said. Sookie looked at Eric and said, "I'm fine."
Though he didn't want to, Eric did as he was told. He placed his hand on the small of Sookie's back before returning to his seat. As he walked away, Sookie glanced at him over her shoulder. Godric was watching them the entire time.
"Bring them out," Godric finally called.
Daniel, Heather, Dr. Josephus, Bridget, and Marianne were escorted onto the stage. Bernie Merlotte, the shifter representative, was with them. She made them stand in front of the table and face the vampires that were to decide their fate.
Sophie Ann was the first to speak. "You all committed an act of treason against a member of the council. What reasons do you have for your actions?"
With their heads bowed, neither shifter answered her.
"Bernie," Shiloh began. "What punishment do you find suitable for your underlings? They are your responsibility."
Bernie stood with her back straight and her head high. "I feel that I am not in the proper frame of mind to make that decision." Looking at Godric, she said, "You've seen the reason why. They mean harm to my son. I have always prided myself on being fair but tonight, I know that I would not be. Do with them as you wish. Whatever punishment is handed down will be more than fair." Bernie looked at the traitors and walked away from them. She returned to her seat with the other onlookers.
Leaning back in his seat and staring at Sookie, Godric smiled. "Since the infraction was committed against you, you can make the final decision. We've all seen you in battle. You're a fierce fighter. You've only had to kill when it was necessary. You've always been … partial to keeping everyone alive."
She looked at him as if she didn't understand what he was saying.
"We'll all understand if you can't stomach the idea of killing as a just punishment. We'll all understand if you give them a sentence of never being able to shift again. If that would more suitable, we'll understand."
The shifters finally made their presence known with their whimpers. They couldn't live without shifting. They'd rather die if they couldn't transform into their alter egos.
Godric ignored their cries as he rested his elbows on the table as he stared deep into her eyes. "We will more than cater to whatever punishment you decide."
She only stared.
Sandy looked bored. She wanted to get to the human that she'd selected for the night. "So?" she asked hastily. "What have you decided? Do you want to do it or should I?"
Sookie stood tall and spoke with conviction. "I'm more than capable."
Godric couldn't hide his surprise. He expected to be the one to hand down the punishment. He wanted to be the one to come to the faery's rescue. She seemed to always have an aversion to killing someone as punishment. She's never been one so willing to kill. She wanted to be everyone's friend. He eyed her suspiciously as he wondered what has changed.
"What have you decided?" Godric asked.
You'll be seen as ruthless and merciless. Don't cower from it. Acknowledge it. Take pleasure in it.
As Andromeda's words replayed in her mind, Sookie looked at the shifters. The New Orleans shifter pack is outstanding. When it comes to roaming, they abide by all of the laws and rules. They never wander into the forbidden areas. Their pack members are just as lawful. They've never gotten into any trouble. They never kill unnecessarily. They always look out for their own … and that's the problem. They need to look out for everyone.
Sookie stood in front of the shifters as she spoke. "The council was established so that we supes could come together as one. We are meant to work together … thrive as one race. We're not here to destroy one another. When you decided to join this council, you agreed to the laws. You took a blood oath."
Heather Kinsman decided to speak. "You've known us for years, Mrs. Northman. We are good people. Give us another chance. Let us prove ourselves. Please, whatever you do, don't take away our shifting privileges. We wouldn't be able to survive."
Sookie looked at Heather and smiled. "I'm not going to do that." Each shifter looked at her and thanked her over and over again. She turned her back to them and stared at Godric. "I have a proposition for you, the members of the council board."
Eyebrows went up and looks of surprise appeared on each vampires face. Shiloh and Sandy looked at one another and grinned. Godric leaned back in his seat and folded his arms over his chest. "Please," he said. "Tell us of this proposition, Mrs. Northman. It had better be good."
Sookie looked over her shoulder at Eric. He gave her a quick nod. She then gave her attention back to the vampires. "You can have the shifters to do with as you wish. I just need your approval to kill one of my own."
It was good.
