Spellbound
Thank you all for reading and sticking with the story. I've edited this one chapter and I have four more to go after this one and I will post those chapters before going back to 'I Remember You'. I hope that you all enjoy and don't hesitate to let me know what you think.
Most of the characters belong to Charlaine Harris. Selene belongs in the Underworld. The other lesser known characters and the story idea belong to me.
Sookie and Eric worked the room for most of the night. After the death of Antony, everyone wanted to speak with them, be near them. They pretended to be in awe of the couple but Sookie could see what they wanted. They were wondering what was going on with the vampire and the fae. They wanted to know what has changed in the last couple of months in their marriage. They wanted to know why they were so much closer than anyone has ever seen them be. They wanted to know why Eric, a vampire well over a thousand years old, was hanging onto his wife for all to see. Not too long ago, he would barely look at her and now, he can't seem to get enough of her? They didn't understand this sudden change. Needless to say, the vampire and the fae gave not a single clue. They continued to tell everyone the same reason behind Sookie's decision. Antony was a traitor and he needed to die.
"He needed to pay for his betrayal," Sookie would say. "Traitors aren't to be trusted. They've made their intentions known."
"They'll do whatever's necessary to get what they want," Eric would add. "Sookie and I have worked too hard to get our races to where we should be and we're letting no one or nothing destroy what we've worked for … what we've all worked so hard to obtain. This is our world!"
The vampires, Weres, and shifters agreed. They more than understood the dangers of spies and traitors. Spies and traitors have destroyed the strongest of alliances. That little speech of Eric's would then have the supes talking amongst themselves. They'd talk about keeping the humans in check. They talked about capturing the person or supe that's killing the human girls. They didn't want the vampires blamed for something that they hadn't done … Weres and shifters alike repeated that sentiment. They would say that they understood why Sookie chose her husband over her kinsman. It was sweet vengeance. They had to show everyone that no matter what, they will stand together.
When the supes would be talking amongst themselves, Sookie and Eric would try to use that opportunity to spend a little time together but Eric would be pulled in one direction and Sookie would be pulled in the other. There was nothing that they could do about it. It was their duty and duty was calling. Pretty soon, she was set free a lot quicker than Eric was. She was wandering through the crowded room, smiling and making small talk; very small talk.
"Hi, how are you?"
"I hope that you're having a good time."
"That dress is gorgeous."
"You are quite astounding, Princess Northman."
Small talk
Pretty soon, she was standing off to the side all alone and sipping her sweet drink from the champagne flute that was etched beautifully with her name. She may have been showing them all a smile but she was aching inside for Eric. He may have only been at the other side of the room but it felt as if he was miles and miles away. She could feel him in her heart, her soul. Every inch of her was screaming for him. The only thing that kept her at ease was that she could feel him. She could see him. He gave her security. He made her feel stronger. The knowledge that he is always there made her feel protected; especially now.
She took a sip of her sweet drink as she admired her husband over the rim of her glass. She was in awe of him; her handsome and powerful Viking. He is her weakness.
"Good evening, little one," Sal said as he leaned in and whispered in her ear.
His voice startled her. She looked to her right and giggled uncontrollably. "You scared me half to death." She placed her hand to her chest as she continued to laugh.
Sal followed suit with the laughter. "For that I apologize," he said. "Don't get me wrong, little one, it wasn't my intention to scare you but funny just the same. If I am to be truthful, it tickled me."
She laughed even louder and harder.
He looked at Sookie's laughing face and admired her. He's been walking this earth for over three thousand years and he'd never seen a happier woman. He's always hoped that he would have the luxury of making a woman look as Sookie looked tonight. He wanted to be the reason for a woman's smile and her happiness. He wanted a woman that melted at the very sight of him. He wanted someone that was going to love him and only him for the rest of his days. He wanted so desperately to have what Eric has.
"Sal," Sookie said. She'd never seen a sadder look on a vampire's face. "Are you okay?"
"Ah, yes, little one," he answered. "I was just thinking of how beautiful you look this evening."
She thanked him as she gave him a small curtsy. "You're looking quite handsome yourself. You're the second best looking vampire here. I do love vampires in black tailor-made suits." She winked at him as she took a sip of her drink. She looked around the room at the smiling faces. "Everyone looks very festive tonight. It's kind of different to be in a room surrounded by happy vampires."
"Extremely happy," Sal said as he nodded. Then something caught his eye. A sly smile appeared on his face but as quickly as it was there, it was gone just as fast. He looked to his left at his brother's wife. He'd promised Eric that he'd stay by Sookie's side. He couldn't leave her alone; not with Godric on the prowl. The last thing Eric needed was to be seen fighting over his fae bride. They're already talking about them. There's no need in adding fuel to the fire.
Sookie followed his eyes and smiled. The girl was quite beautiful. Even her colors are sweet. Sal needed a night to himself. There was no point in him wasting his night on her. She then placed her hand on Sal's arm. "You go and do what you want to do. I'll be fine and don't worry about Godric. I know that he's been watching me tonight but it's fine. You have nothing to worry about and neither has Eric. He is not going to bother me. He knows that he doesn't stand a chance."
Sal shook his head no. "I promised Eric."
"Go," Sookie ordered. Pointing to the far side of the room, she said, "Eric is right there. I can see him. He can see me. And anyway, Selene and Chow are floating around here somewhere. Marco and Kendrick are outside doing whatever it is that they do. I promise, Sal. I'll be fine." She then patted him on the back and gave him a little push as she sent him on his way. "Have fun," she called out behind him.
Sal did as she ordered him and left the princess alone. That's what she wanted. She'd been surrounded by vampires all night long. She didn't want them around her, sniffing at her, touching her. She didn't need Sal babysitting her. She didn't need any of them standing over her. Well, she was tired of all but one. The one that she wanted was busy and she needed some air. She decided that she was going to go outside. She needed some fresh air.
Sookie made her way to the patio doors and slipped outside. She could hear the minds of Marco and Kendrick just across the way. Kellan and Donnelly, her fae guards, were just as close. There was no need for Sal to worry over her and miss out on a good time.
The cool air felt good as it danced around her. She removed her shoes and placed them on the patio before stepping into the grass. She'd always loved walking barefoot in the grass. She and Adele used to do it at night. Adele said that it made them feel as if they were closer to nature. Sookie giggled. Claudette said that being naked and outside really made them feel closer to nature. It had to have been true. Her cousin, Claudia used to walk the grounds naked all of the time.
The memories of her family always made her happy. She walked out to the garden and sat down in the middle of it; not on the bench but on the ground. She loved being surrounded by flowers. Tulips, roses, mums and night lilies surrounded her. There were so many colors and they were beautiful. The moonlight made them look even more beautiful. Pretty soon, she was lying down in the grass and smiling up at the night sky.
"My lover," Eric said.
Sookie rolled her head to the left and there he stood. Her heart skipped a beat at the sight of him. He looked so handsome standing in the moonlight. His blue eyes were a lighter shade of blue. His shoulders seemed to have broadened. She'd never seen anyone more spectacular.
"Eric," she whispered. "Lay with me?"
He did as his wife asked. He took her hand in his and stared up at the familiar sky; the moon and the stars he's so familiar with. He then smiled. "Do you remember the first time we did this?"
Sookie nodded her head and smiled. It was during his second visit to Faery. He'd found her out in Adele's Garden laying in the same position as he found her in tonight. That very night, she patted the ground beside her and without asking a single question, he lay down beside her. He'd crossed his arms over his chest and listened to her as she talked. She pointed out the stars and planets that surrounded Faery. She told him the story behind each one. And that was what they did the entire night. He loved every second of it.
"It was a good night," she said as she tightened her grip on his hand. "Have they finally stopped hanging on your every word? I know how irritating that can be for someone like you, so modest and all."
He filled the night with his laughter. "I sneaked away. Don't get me wrong; I thoroughly enjoy a good ass kissing just as much as the next person but tonight, it was a little too much, even for me."
Sookie laughed as she made her way into Eric's body. She nestled into his arms and rested her head on his chest. "This is good," she said as she closed her eyes.
Eric's grip tightened on her. Tonight was a minor triumph for them. Their peers were impressed with them. They were especially impressed with Sookie's decision. They didn't think that she'd ever kill a member of the faery population for a vampire and they said as much. They didn't try to hide their disbelief. And Andromeda was right. Eric and Sookie are now seen as a force to be reckoned with.
"It's a beautiful and triumphant night, my dearest love," Sookie said as she looked up at him. She then leaned in to kiss his sumptuous mouth. She melted into the feel of his lips as if it had been years since they'd had one another; since she tasted the sweetest mouth she's ever known.
"I want to make love to you." He brushed her hair from her brow as he lightly kissed her.
She smiled against his lips. "We've never done it in a garden before." She then frowned. "We've never done it outside before. The car yes but this is different." Whispering, she said, "There are so many supes inside and you know how vampires are. What if someone sees us?" Her eyes then widened. "What if they hear me? I've never been a quiet lover."
"Let them hear," he said. "It doesn't matter because you are mine. Selene, Chow; guard the perimeter that surrounds us. Take the Weres with you," he said as he nibbled and kissed at Sookie's neck. He nodded once Selene acknowledged his command.
"Good-bye Kellan and Donnelly," Sookie moaned.
Soon Sookie was lying on her back as Eric slid his hand underneath her dress. He tore the flimsy lace panties from her body and replaced them with his fingers. They quickly found the warmth and wetness that he loves so much. He began to rub and fondle her gently, slowly. The moan that was building within her was music to his ears.
She gasped at his touch as she began fumbling with his zipper. She wanted to rip his pants from his body but she couldn't. They weren't at home and he didn't have an extra pair with him. She had no choice but to control herself. She had to take it slow and she was not in a slow taking mood. When she was finally able to get to his hardness, she stroked it gently, slowly.
Eric quickly and carefully removed his pants and was soon on top of her; using his hips to spread her legs open as he carefully slid her dress up. He stared into her eyes he teased her with the tip of his hardness; lightly brushing it over her nub, circling it around her entrance.
"Don't tease me," she begged.
He gave her a smoldering look as he relished in the idea that she belongs to him. A sudden urge to feed from her filled him. It was an overwhelming need that he's never known.
"Do it, baby," she whispered. She rolled her head to the side and invited him to take what he wanted.
He could wait no longer. Just as he entered her, he bit.
Though she'd silently promised herself that she'd remain quiet, she failed. Sookie cried out in ecstasy. She melted into the most exquisite feelings she's ever known; his bite and the deep thrusts of his hardness as it plunged deep inside of her. She wrapped her arms around him as their bodies moved together. Her legs began to tighten around him as her orgasms crashed over her again and again. He plunged deep inside of her over and over again. She quivered powerlessly in his arms.
"Eric," she whispered.
His mouth claimed hers as he thrust deeper, harder, and faster. Without pause, she then bit into him. With that one bite, he roared out into the night sky as her glow engulfed them.
Sookie closed her eyes as she securely wrapped her arms around Eric's neck; afraid to let go for fear of falling, even though she was already lying on the ground. Eric then tightened his grip on her as he rolled onto the ground and Sookie was lying on his chest. The lovers basked in their glow and lovingly kissed each other; enjoying the moment.
Godric looked on in envy. He could clearly understand why she was Eric's weakness. He watched as she lovingly kissed Eric and looked into his eyes. He watched how she touched him and caressed him with the tips of her fingers. He noticed how Eric would shiver with sheer anticipation. The way she talked to him, laughed at his jokes; Godric knew that no matter what he did or what he said, she'd never look at him like that. She'd never love anyone the way that she loves the Northman. He owns every inch of her.
"It's a good thing that we kept the others from seeing this," Godric said. "Those two would have started an orgy. These humans wouldn't have stood a chance." He then cocked an eyebrow as he thought of the human called Ginger. "They still won't."
"To be Eric," Sandy whispered as she chugged the last of her blood. "I would give anything to be Eric Northman right now. I would never let her go. She would forever belong to me."
"Doesn't she smell absolutely divine?" Shiloh asked.
"I've never smelled anything like her," Sophie Ann agreed.
"The Viking is one lucky bastard," Godric said with a laugh. "You lucky bastard," he repeated. He then raised his glass to the lovers as they turned away; giving the lovers their privacy.
