Chapter 30:

Meanwhile Caroline's quick kiss was enough to motivate Klaus and with a low rumble of appreciation he drew her into his arms for another kiss.

The moment she felt his arms go around her, she melted into him. The kisses grew addictive and the feel of his skin against hers made her moan his name a bit.

"Caroline," her name fell from his lips in a sexy whisper. "I am so sorry I ever doubted you. I have never gotten over you. You are my light, Caroline."

Pulling away, she smiled at him and held her hand out for his.

"I'd like that date now if you don't mind."

They were gone in a flash.

"Mm...someone's in the chocolate cake and they didn't cut me a piece," Bonnie teased as she entered the kitchen.

"I got hungry." Elena said blushing. Cutting her a slice, she passed it over to her and they sat down at the table, eating.

"I can't believe we're twenty weeks pregnant," Bonnie said obviously excited. "Oh!" She gasped a moment later as the babies flipped over entirely.

"They flipped?" Elena asked excitedly. Bonnie nodded with a smile on her face. Kol and Elijah came in instantly and looked at them.

"What's wrong?"

"The babies flipped over completely," Bonnie smiled rubbing her growing bump.

"Are they supposed to do that?" Kol worried.

"Perfectly normal," Elijah smiled gently and patted Kol on the back.

"I'm not going to survive this," Kol sighed. Bonnie grabbed his hands and positioned them before one of the babies flipped over again. The look of wonder on his face made everything worth it.

"I'm pretty sure that you are going to survive this." Elijah told him smiling before it turned sober. "I need to ask Rebekah about the attack on you my love." He said as he stared into Elena's eyes.

"If you dagger her Elijah you know that she will hate you for taking time with her baby away. Will you let Stefan raise the baby or will he be welcome here? Remember this affects him too." Elena said.

"I don't think that I'll have to dagger her but I'll make sure that Stefan knows what she has done." Elijah rubbed his forehead as though he had a headache. "I think that Kol or even Niklaus can get through to her easier than I can."

"I don't know," Bonnie said, "they all look up to you. She might try to manipulate Kol."

"It would never happen now that he has you Bonnie," Elena said. "Kol has found his compassion, his humanity."

Elijah sighed. "Maybe we should tell Klaus-she looks up to him more than she does me."

Elena rubbed his arm and gave him a bite of her slice of cake.

"Klaus will either buy her story and forgive her wholeheartedly or go straight for the dagger," Elena said. "I think it should be Kol. She thinks of Kol as her co-conspirator and capable of being manipulated. Just make him turn his iPhone on to record and it's as good as wearing a wire."

"I can do that," Kol said.

"Then we can start this in a few weeks," Elijah stared at everyone. "We need to have Klaus and Caroline with us to listen."

"What about Stefan?" Bonnie asked.

"We'll let him be in the dark or have him compelled to forget Rebekah if Klaus daggers Rebekah." Kol answered instantly.

"No!" Elena objected, "you can't compel him again. It's too cruel. I don't think he would try to remove the dagger but he doesn't deserve to have his memories taken away again." She was almost in tears as she pleaded. She loved Elijah heart and soul but there would always be a small part of her heart that belonged to Stefan. It was what made Elena who she is.

"We are talking about what Niklaus would do," Elijah told her as he moved her into his arms. "If it were me...I wouldn't do it but Niklaus...it is possible that Stefan won't have his memories compelled away. We need to have Niklaus in the room with us when she admits to what she did."

Elena nodded and just laid her head on his chest. "He's one of my best friends 'Lijah. I can't let that happen to him again." She looked up at him. "If it were me and I had to be compelled to forget you...I would be lost and scared." She shivered and Elijah held her close.

"That won't happen to you lovely." He said with such conviction in his voice, it made Bonnie and Kol realize that Elijah would do whatever he can to protect Elena and their family.

Kol used his finger to turn Bonnie's chin so she was looking deep in his eyes. He blinked and let her see deep into his soul; all of his love for her. It was consuming.

"Remember my promise little witch," he said in a husky tone. Then he blinked again and though his eyes still held love and warmth for her it wasn't overwhelming. Then Kol turned to Elijah.

"This is family business, we will confront her as a family," Kol said decisively. "I will not continue to allow her to endanger Bonnie, Elena or Caroline."

"I remember it Kol." She told him as her head was on his chest. He began to rub her bump, enjoying the sound of the heartbeats inside her of his children.

"Have you thought of any names ladies?" Kol suddenly asked, trying to get off such a horrible topic as about talking with his sister.

Elena rubbed it and looked at him. "I was thinking of naming him after your younger brother-Henrik." She whispered. "If you have any other ideas as to what he should be named, feel free to tell me."

"I would be honored," Elijah smiled and kissed her forehead.

"Well I was thinking Abigail Carolena and Christian Kol," Bonnie suggested hopefully. This was the first time she had said them aloud and she fervently hoped that no one would laugh.

Elena let out a low squeal of happiness at the names.

"So perfect!" she got out and wrapped her arms around Bonnie who hugged her back. Elijah was just watching this with a fond smile. Turning to Kol, he had tears glistening in his eyes.

"Those names are beautiful ladies." He choked out. He was really honored that one of those names was in memory of Henrik. "Elena...what will Henrik's full name be?"

She smiled. "I was thinking of having it as Elijah." Elijah pulled her back into his arms and kissed her senseless.

"And that's how you got like that," Bonnie teased Elena gesturing to her baby bump.

"Very funny," Elena rolled her eyes.

Bonnie giggled and Kol snickered. Elijah just continued rubbing the bump and kissing her lightly. In his mind, he had his family with him at the table-his beautiful wife, sister in law, unborn son, unborn niece and nephew and a brother he can truly rely on.

"Do we really want Klaus in the room with us as we get Rebekah to spill the beans?" Bonnie knew that they would have to get back to that topic so she wanted it out there.
