Hi everyone. First off, I'd like to apologize for not updating this in like a whole year. I won't lie, 2014 was a very hectic year for me. Yes , I know I was submitting oneshots, but they were non-plot stories, but at least I gave you guys something to read. Eh he ^^'
Anyway, here it is, finally! The update for 'Perfect Match.' I hope it was worth the wait.
And Happy Valentine's to all the happy couples out there, or for those of you who are still single (like me) Single Awareness Day (SAD).
Enjoy.
Chapter 3
Meanwhile, at the Jade Palace, in the kitchen.
"Po, relax. I'm sure she's fine." Monkey told the worried panda, as he, Mantis and Crane sat at the table watching him.
Po was worriedly pacing back and forth in the kitchen, and had been for at least two hours, sitting only once in a while for a few seconds.
"I know, but I can't help but worry." Po replied, as he continued to pace.
"Jeez Po, you're acting like she's your girlfriend or something." Mantis snickered, causing the others to snicker as well. Po blushed but recovered quickly.
"Come on, you guys! You saw how she destroyed the training hall! There's no telling what she could have done after leaving there!" Po exclaimed.
"He does have a point you guys. We've never seen Tigress that angry before." Crane added in.
"Thank you! At least someone understands where I'm coming from." Po exclaimed, as he continued to pace.
"But seriously, Po, you need to calm down. If anything had happened, Viper would have been back by now." Crane finished.
"That is true." Monkey stated in agreement.
Po stopped pacing and sighed. He turned to face his comrades. He was about to say something but stopped when he heard a voice.
"We're back." Viper said, as she slithered into the kitchen, followed by the tiger master.
Tigress stood at the doorway and looked into the kitchen, as the others, minus Viper, stared at her with concern. She sighed.
"It's ok guys. I'm fine." Tigress assured them.
"Are you sure?" Crane asked.
"Yea." Tigress replied. "I… I guess I may have overreacted."
"Yea, you did." Monkey stated. Tigress and Viper gave him a death glare.
"Ah ah ah, let me finish." Monkey said, raising a hand to stop them. "Yes, you did. But we understand. We've known you for years, Tigress. And during that time, we've known you to be dedicated to kung fu and training. You were never interested in relationships. Knowing this about you, and knowing that Shifu knows it too, it came as a shock to us too. So we understand why you would have acted the way you did." He explained. Mantis and Crane nodded while mumbling their agreement.
"Oh… well… I appreciate your concern and understanding." Tigress said to them. They nodded towards her.
"So… have you decided what you're going to do?" Crane asked.
Everyone, except Viper, looked to the Tiger Master expectantly. Tigress swept her gaze along her comrades, remembering what Viper had told her, and then sighed after a brief pause.
"Yes I have." She replied. The others continued to stare at her, waiting. "And… I have decided… to go along with it."
A brief moment of silence passed among the Masters.
"Are… are you sure about this, Tigress?" Po hesitantly asked.
"Yes." Tigress replied. "After I calmed down, I pondered on the reasons why I should or shouldn't go along with this. The reasons I should overpowered the reasons I shouldn't." she told them, leaving out about the conversation she had with Viper.
"If that's your decision, Tigress, then we'll support you, no matter what." Crane told her. The others, minus Po, nodded and mumbled in agreement.
"Thank you everyone. Your support is most appreciated." Tigress thanked her comrades. "Now, it is getting late. I know you all stayed up, being worried about me. I won't keep you any longer. Goodnight." She told them, before exiting the kitchen, and turned in the opposite direction of the barracks. The others didn't need to ask, knowing she was going to speak with Shifu.
Once she was gone, the rest of the Furious Five also made their way out of the kitchen, heading toward the barracks, leaving behind the Dragon Warrior. Po stood there, in the middle of the kitchen, for about a minute or two with a sad expression, staring off at the doorway since Tigress left.
"Tigress…" He sadly thought. He sighed and exited the kitchen as well, heading in the opposite direction of the barracks.
Po trudged his way over to the Peach Tree of Heavenly Wisdom, minutes after leaving the kitchen. He gave a heavy sigh, then plopped down next to the tree with a heavy thud. He elbowed the tree, causing a peach to fall and land in his paw. Po watched the peach while twirling it around in his paw, before bringing it up to his mouth. But before it could reach his mouth, he let out another sigh, then forcefully tossed the fruit away. Normally he'd eat whenever he was upset. But this was a different kind of upset. It was the kind that made him to actually lose his appetite; to not eat.
Po sadly looked to the ground for a few seconds, before he looked up at the starry night sky. Some of the stars twinkled every once in a while.
"What should I do?" Po quietly asked, still looking up at the night sky. "I want Tigress to be happy, but…" he paused to ponder, "would it be selfish of me… to tell her how I feel now, with all this is happening?"
Po didn't know what to do. He was really confused with himself.
"Oogway… I know this is not something I would do, but… I need your help, your wisdom. What should I do?" he asked still looking up at the stars that simply twinkled in response. A gentle breeze then blew over the panda. He closed his eyes and sighed, as he looked back down at the ground. "Yea… I thought so…" he sadly whispered, as he came to his own conclusion. He got up and began to make his way back to the barracks.
A few minutes after Po left, petals swirled around near the tree, revealing the Great Master Oogway. He smiled as he looked down from the hill at the trudging panda, making his way to the barracks.
"All in good time, young one." He said, then disappeared in a swirl of peach blossoms.
With Tigress…
"Master Shifu? Are you still awake?" Tigress asked, as she stood outside the Grandmaster's room.
"Tigress?" Shifu asked from inside his quarters. "You should be resting for training tomorrow." He calmly stated.
Tigress sighed. "I know, but I need to speak with you."
She heard shuffling coming from the room before the rice paper wall that was blocking the doorway was moved aside, revealing the Grandmaster.
"Yes?" He said, looking up at the tiger master.
Tigress bit her bottom lip as she looked down at her master and father figure. She then let out a sigh and composed herself to speak.
"I… I thought… about what you said, and…" she began as Shifu watched her expectantly. "I'll do it." She finished.
"Are you sure, Tigress?" Shifu asked.
"Yes, I'm sure, Master." She replied.
"Very well then. I'll have the matchmaker meet with you tomorrow after training." Shifu stated. "But if I may ask; what made you change your mind?"
Tigress bit her bottom lip once again. "I…" she began, as she turned her head to the side, ears flattened backward, and her left paw rubbing her right arm. "I… d-don't want to spend the rest of my life alone."
Shifu nodded understandingly. He didn't need any further explanation from the tigress. "I understand, Tigress. Now, go get some rest, you have a big day tomorrow." He told.
Still not facing her master, Tigress nodded and began to make her way back to the barracks. Once she was gone, Shifu's ears twitched.
"I told you she would come around." A voice said to Shifu.
Shifu sighed, pulling the rice paper wall back to block the doorway. "Yes, you did, Master. I'm just glad it was sooner than later. Though I am surprised she changed her mind so quickly."
Oogway softly chuckled. "Let's just say… she got a little help from a little serpent."
"Viper. Of course. Apart from me, Viper is the only one who can get through to Tigress and reason with her." Shifu stated. "Well, now that that's out of the way…"
"Yes. I believe you should be able to handle things from here, Shifu. I will return if needed." Oogway said, before disappearing in the form of swirling peach blossoms.
Shifu sighed and made his way to his bed. He needed the rest just as much as Tigress did, since he too had a busy day ahead of him.

Ok that's it for chapter 3. Again, I apologize for not updating. Though bear in mind that fanfics don't put food in my belly. I don't make money off of this, so I write when I can.
Hope you all enjoyed this chapter.
