Chapter 47
Elena was in an ivory dress with an empire waist and was completely strapless. Instead of heels, she wore silver flats. Smiling as Kat did her hair, Bonnie and Caroline did her nails and make up.
Bonnie had donned an empire-waisted white dress with a ruched bodice, crystal and embroidery section at the empire waist and a bubble hem just above her knees. The dress flaunted her adorable pregnancy. Caroline meanwhile had on a cream silk wrap dress that highlighted her eighteen weeks of pregnancy. Soon all three of the brides were ready.
"I've never been a witness at a triple wedding before," Katherine smiled.
"I can't wait," Stefan smiled.
"Family, for we are all family here...we are standing here on hard fought for ground. This land had changed hands many times, the French, the Spanish, the English. Our family built it, lost it and reclaimed it again. This land has known great sorrows and hardships...but today it knows great love, boundless love. While I take the vows myself with my beloved witch it is also my greatest of honors to marry my two big brothers to the women they were meant to have. Elena Gilbert you were a lot of trouble when I first met you but it didn't take ten minutes of my seeing you at the ball with Elijah to know that love was finally making it's way to my second oldest brother. You two are perfect for each other and it is an honor for me to join you for eternity."
"Caroline," Kol continued, "when Nik pointed you out to me at the Grille I nearly lost it. My complete pain in the butt of a brother, the one we all wanted to off for his atrocities had fallen head over heels for a little blonde firecracker. As soon as I saw the way you refuted his requests I knew that you were going to be Nik's salvation - someway somehow there was hope that you would bring this family together. So it is that we stand here before you, not broken as we have been for so many centuries but united in life, love and brotherhood. Elijah as you now stand before this woman I ask you to speak what is in your heart to her and to promise yourself to her through the exchange of rings and blood."
As all three brothers pricked their fingers as well as their fiancées, each drop of blood landed on the rings and then they kissed away the blood.
"When I met you Elena, I was thinking you were my salvation and as I got to know you, I began falling more and more in love with you. That day we spent together was the greatest day of my life. I never wanted it to end." Elijah told her.
"Elijah you terrified me with the force of your persistence when we first met. I had never been pursued in such a manner. Once I got to know you, to see the depth beneath the surface I wanted to drown in them. You have a thousand years head start on me but I want to spend eternity falling in love with all of you."
Katherine began to cry against Damon's shoulder while Stefan smiled at them.
"It's so beautiful!" She got out through her tears. "It's so beautiful and I want something that beautiful!"
Damon smiled at Katherine and pulled her in line with the others.
"Katerina Katherine Pierce Petrova I have loved you since the moment you alighted from that carriage. Even when you stopped loving me I never gave up hope. Now that I have you back in my arms I'm going to hold you here close to my heart for the rest of eternity." Damon Salvatore vowed and Elena's tears bubbled over at that point. Stefan smiled at them which gave him an idea.
If Bonnie, who was both-a witch and a vampire-could make Katherine good, could she do the same thing to Rebekah?
As all four couples exchanged vows and blood everyone grew emotional. Finally Kol pronounced them all husbands and wives. Then he drew his new wife into his arms for a searing kiss. Elijah snorted as Klaus did the same thing but added a dramatic touch by murmuring, "I am yours." Elena laughed and as Elijah pulled her into his arms, he kissed her as deeply as he could, enjoying the feel of their son kicking up a storm.
"I love you." He whispered. She smiled and kissed him back.
"I love you more." She said and made a motion with her hands that made many of them gasp as the flower petals swirled around them. "I thought you would like that." She smiled at him and pecked his lips.
"That was spectacular!" Stefan told them. "Especially with the fireworks going off!"
They looked to see Jeremy lighting the fireworks with Davina from the roof.
"Now it's time for a parade!" She shouted.
"I think I'll pass on the parade," Bonnie said. "What I would like to do is get off my feet."
"I want fried free tomatoes," Elena said.
"Oh that sounds fantastic," Bonnie agreed.
"No parade but I'll cook for you all!" Damon said as he went to get green tomatoes and fry them up for the girls. Stefan went over to Bonnie and smiled.
"Can I ask you something?" She smiled at him and nodded. Standing up, he walked her a little ways away from everyone, not wanting them to hear him.
"What you did to Damon and Katherine-getting rid of their evil personas...could you do something like that to Rebekah?" He asked.
Bonnie frowned in thought, "I'm pretty sure it would work. However, I imagine it would require borrowing blood magic from probably all three of her brothers. It would be up to them if I could borrow that power."
"Do you think that they will agree to this?" He asked her with some nervousness bleeding into his voice.
"I think they want her back as much as you do," Bonnie said. She walked back over to the group.
"As wonderful as today is as our family grows bigger we're not complete; one of our members is missing and Stefan has a plan to fix that..."
She offered the floor to Stefan. Stefan cleared his throat.
"What Bonnie did for Katherine-getting rid of her evil persona-I was hoping that she could do the same thing to Rebekah...make her what she used to be before the vampirism came and destroyed it."
Elijah, Klaus and Kol looked and each one nodded, wanting that plan to happen.
"That will work out well for us." Klaus said.
"You have seen me borrow from the strength of Kol's blood before? Well this would likely require borrowing from the strength of all three of your blood. Katherine was difficult for me."
"Then we will help you with this endeavor of yours." Elijah promised. "We all want Rebekah back-the one before all this happened."
"How dangerous is this to our babies?" Kol asked, "and you'd better be honest with me little witch."
"It's a very small risk to our children, practically none. Davina will have the heavier load holding Rebekah inert. To make sure I don't overload myself is why I'm pooling so much original blood."
Kol gave a little inclination of his head in agreement with her statement.
"We will do this tonight." Klaus told them happily.
"We all need to make sure we have plenty of blood. Kol I'm going to need the purest I can get which is yours. Then you'll need to replenish." Kol nodded and everyone got started with preparations.
Elena, Katherine and Caroline were watching this with trepidation.
"Okay," Bonnie said and they brought Rebekah's coffin into the courtyard. "Davina if you can't hold her we're dead in the water. At the same time don't you dare overextend yourself! You're up first." Davina nodded and closed her eyes, chanting words. It seemed to be working well.
When Bonnie thought they were ready and Davina had Rebekah stable she kissed Kol quickly for luck and then closed her eyes. Kol wrapped himself around her. Then Elijah and Klaus laid their hands on Kol's back. Bonnie began the spell and suddenly each original could feel the pull on their blood.
The courtyard began to be covered in glitter. Bonnie continued to chant and Rebekah began to be covered by the glitter. Each of the brothers could feel the strain of the spell. Elena wanted to help but knew that she wouldn't be able to. She just grabbed Caroline's hand and squeezed it as tight as she could, hoping that this spell would work and Stefan got his Rebekah back.
Suddenly Rebekah's eyes opened for a moment despite the fact that she was still daggered. Bonnie struggled through the last of the spell and then Rebekah's eyes slipped closed again as she returned to her death-sleep. They felt the magic begin to pull from each of them but everyone was covered with little crystals.
"Kol, I need blood," Bonnie said, "your blood. Now the only way to know is pull the dagger and see."
As Kol bit into his wrist and gave it to Bonnie to drink, Klaus was the one who pulled the dagger out of her chest. They knew that they had a wait on their hands and Elijah had Elena sit down, rubbing her bump to calm down little Henrik who was now active as he fractured one of Elena's ribs again by accident.
Bonnie finally felt better after quite a lot of Kol's blood. He had a Han on her baby bump anxiously waiting for each kick to signal that their children were okay. Everyone waited anxiously for Rebekah to awaken. Finally her eyes fluttered open. The moment of truth had arrived.
"What's going on?" She asked, a bit fearful. As she took in Klaus, she sat up. "Nik? What's going on?"
"We just had you take a nap sister." He placated. "Do you need anything?"
She nodded, licking her lips. "A glass of water please." Her voice was soft. Once he was gone, her eyes went to Bonnie and gave her a smile.
"How are you doing?" She was curious.
"I'm a little tired right now but I think that's expected at this stage," Bonnie replied with a smile.
"How do you feel?" Bonnie asked.
"Okay, I guess..." She was weirded out. "Why are you asking me how I feel?" She was looking and when she saw Elena and Katherine with Damon in front of Katherine and Elijah in front of Elena, she giggled.
"You are so adorable!" She squealed as she managed to get out and go over to Katherine, actually hugging her. Letting her go, she did the same to Elena.
"What are their names going to be?" She asked enthusiastically.
Elena and Katherine were both speechless. They were regarding Rebekah awkwardly. Bonnie smiled.
"I haven't actually picked names yet, well we haven't."
"It's a boy and we're naming him Christopher Stefan Salvatore," Katherine pronounced.
"That's a beautiful name!" She smiled at Damon who was staring at Katherine wide eyed.
"You already chose a name?" She nodded. Elena giggled at them. Turning to Rebekah, she nodded.
"I'm naming him Henrik Elijah Mikaelson." She told her proudly.
Rebekah walked over to Elena and all three brothers got ready to pounce. Instead she pulled Elena into a firm hug and then smiled brightly at her.
"I am so touched and honored that you would honor two of my brothers in your choice of name. Elijah is an incredible big brother and I know Henrik would have grown up just as good if he'd gotten the chance." She looked around and spotted Stefan. She walked over to him and kissed him passionately.
"I missed you my love. Where is our daughter? Where's Lilly?"
"Taking a nap." He told her warmly. It seemed the spell had worked well. "She missed you a lot."
She smiled widely at him. "Take me to our Lilly." She said as she looped her arm around his.
"Is there any chance she's faking it?" Elena worried.
"How would she know what we had tried in her death-sleep," Caroline argued.
"This is about how Katherine was when I finished with her," Bonnie said.
"She'll be aware of all she's done but she no longer has the feelings or motivation for any of it," Bonnie said.
Elijah nodded, accepting that. Looking at his two brothers, they even agreed.
"She's like the old Rebekah again." Klaus said. "That's all I care about."
"She will be less bitter this time around." Kol grinned. "So she won't be daggered ever again."
"Well we'll hope not anyhow," Klaus said.
