Chapter 51
Meanwhile Lilly could now sit up by herself. Rebekah deposited her on a blanket on the floor and gave her a bottle filled with water which she lit into. Christopher was lifting his head up and smiling at anyone who would pay attention to him. He had said his first word the other day which had of course been DaDa. Damon had been eating it up ever since.
"Who's dada?" Damon cooed to him. The baby just giggled at him.
"Around here that's going to be a bit of a challenge," Rebekah giggled.
"I would like to bestow two gifts on the child if I may," Bonnie looked to the parents.
The parents nodded and consented to Bonnie's request before someone murmured, "Sleeping Beauty flashback anyone?"
"Hide your spinning wheels," Caroline called out. Bonnie rolled her eyes and then she began to concentrate and the glittering dust sprinkled down upon the infant.
"May you grow to know the great love of your parents and be blessed with the same love for yourself," Bonnie said, "your second gift is that you and indeed all infants born into this family shall henceforth and forevermore be born with the Mikaelson gene providing good looks and the strength of an original." Suddenly there was an epic flash of blinding light that burst out from the room. Bonnie froze - what had she just said? The spell wasn't supposed to be that powerful.
Caroline gaped at her. "Was that supposed to happen Bonnie?"
"No." Bonnie whispered weakly to her. "It's not supposed to be that powerful." The new parents, on the other hand, didn't seem to mind it. They were too busy staring at their son. Elena did look up and smiled at her.
"True love," Rebekah said.
"Bonnie you just gave our children a blessing to find the love their parents have...in the fairytales there is no greater power than..." Rebekah said.
"No way," Bonnie gasped. "Are you telling me that the reason my power keeps growing by leaps and bounds..." she stared at Kol. Caroline was staring at Klaus and Rebekah was staring at Stefan. All of them were experiencing shock but Elijah and Elena knew that all of them had true love. They just didn't know the others in their family hadn't figured it out yet.
"Thank you for your gifts." Elena said as she changed her gaze from her best friend before moving it to her true love-her husband- and kissing him tenderly.
"Yes, thank you." He smiled. "Though I'm surprised that you all figured it out at the moment." He was like any new father, completely devoted to his son at the moment.
"You love me that much?" Caroline gasped as she looked to Klaus. She could hardly fathom love that could create that much magic. Bonnie was breathing unevenly as she stared at Kol. He had fallen for her completely and unequivocally?
"Since I first saw you." He said warmly to her. Elijah smiled as his siblings were just realizing that they were fated to be but as he looked down at his wife, he was thrilled.
"Is it wrong that I would want another one?" He asked her softly. She smiled at him.
"After this one, I want another one as well." She whispered back. "Just not for another couple of years."
"We can go through it together again," Bonnie smiled.
Elena smiled and nodded.
"Let me enjoy this one for a while." She said warmly.
"I'm in agreement a hundred and fifty percent," Bonnie smiled.
"Wait for me!" Caroline protested. She was now thirty weeks along.
Elena giggled as she was holding Henrik in her arms as she sat in the rocking chair, getting ready to feed him with a bottle of formula in her hand.
"We're waiting." She teased.
The next ten weeks passed in a flurry of activity. Lilly was now crawling and everyone had to be careful not to let her out of the room she was in. Christopher seemed to have bypassed crawling and was pulling up on objects to stand up.
Carolena and Nathaniel had mastered a few words while Henrik was sitting up on his own.
Now in the midst of an awful ice storm Caroline had gone into labor.
"How are we supposed to keep these babies warm without power," Bonnie fussed as she arrived in Caroline's suite with a twin on each hip.
"I don't know but there's a huge fireplace in the sitting room." Kol fussed. Elena pulled a play fence in there and they laid down a pallet of blankets before they settled all of the babies in there. Christopher pulled up on the side and immediately began crying for his parents.
"Damon Salvatore don't you dare pick him up! We're going to break him of this," Katherine fussed.
"But he's crying for me." Damon told her. The glare that she gave him had him nodding in agreement with her.
"Sorry buddy." Damon told him. "I can't pick you up this time."
"It's about time," Stefan groaned, "Damon you're letting him get too clingy. You have to put them down and leave them to their own devices."
Damon grumbled and watched his son cry before Lilly toppled over him by accident which made both of them cry. Henrik was just giggling at his cousins.
"Oops a daisy Lilly," Rebekah said in a happy tone. "You're okay. Dry your tears." Her daughter quickly stopped crying and went back to playing with her plastic car keys. Elena smiled at Henrik who just decided that he was hungry. Taking him out of there, she held him in her arms and sat down, a bottle in her hand. The second she began feeding him, she begun humming a song for him.
Klaus meanwhile was a nervous wreck as Elijah had him timing the distance between contractions. He was pacing back and forth the length of the bed. Caroline was watching him but trying not to think about it. So far the pain wasn't anything too bad since she's a vampire.
"How's it going in here?" Kol asked. "Need any help with anything?" He directed his last question to Elijah.
"Actually yes," Elijah said. "I'm going to let you be in charge of this one. You're doing good Kol and there needs to be two of us that know what we're doing. Wash up and deliver the newest Mikaelson." Klaus looked antsy but he wouldn't question Elijah.
"Just deliver my baby safely brother." Klaus said to Kol.
"I will." Kol promised.
"Alright Caroline let me have a look," Kol said. "Okay you're not quite there yet. No pushing yet."
"What do you want me to do?" She sounded terrified.
