The tale of Ukki
I was born in a place full of greeneries. All the other plants around me were beautiful, so full of life, and some even had pretty colours. But me, I was the odd one out. I was dry, and compared to them, I look like life itself had given up on me. But it was ok, the one who had grown me did not care if I was not beautiful. His hair was the colour of the sun, and looking at him cheered me up somehow.
However, things changed one day. My Golden human seemed to have given up on me. I did not understand what he was saying, but from the way he was carrying me out of that little greenery place, I knew that he was getting rid of me. I was sad, I was devastated, but there was nothing that I could do. Without him giving me water every now and then, I would surely die. But if I was about to die, I hoped that my graveyard would be located near other trees, so that when I decomposed, I could finally be useful, as I would be able to provide nutrients for my fellow tree buddies.
Turned out, Golden human was not really getting rid of me. I found a new home and a new human to take care of me. This time, my human was someone with silver hair, similar to the colour of the moon. While looking at my Golden human cheered me up, looking at my Silver human gave me a sense of calmness - serenity perhaps. Silver human was very different from Golden human. Golden human would chirp and hum like the birds in the sky, but Silver human was really like the moon, quiet and soundless.
In my new home, I was somehow happier. I did not feel inferior, as for some reason, Silver human did not have other trees around. Also, when I was still with Golden human, I was placed in the middle of the room. By Silver human, I was placed by the window. This was what made me really happy. I could bask in the sun all day and look at the beautiful moon at night.
I did not get lonely easily, so when my Silver human was absent for a prolonged period of time, it did not affect me. My only complaint was that Silver often forgot to give me water when he was gone. I got really thirsty sometimes. My only wish was that Silver would give me water more often.
Golden human was always cheerful, but Silver human was not. When I first moved in with Silver, he never really smiled. The only time he smiled was when he had that orange coloured square on his hands. It was really weird. However, as spring and summer passed, he began to start smiling. I was really happy for him.
Silver had pet dogs. I liked them because whenever they were around, Silver would smile more. One dog, the smallest one irritated me a little, though. He was always nudging me with his wet snout, sniffing me. I think that was pretty gross.
Things suddenly changed when fall came. Silver stopped smiling completely, and just a few days after, he rummaged through his wardrobe and dug out weird metallic armor and a white porcelain mask. It was weird that Silver needed a porcelain mask, as he was already wearing a dark blue one. After putting on his uniform, he left and never came back.
Fall passed, and winter passed. I was at my limit, parched beyond my worst nightmare. The longest silver had been away previously was a month, and it was bad enough as he forgot to give me water for another month prior. This time was easily three times the time I was not watered. If I did not get any water within hours, I would surely perish. And I did not want to perish here, my death would be in vain, and for some reason I think it would make my Silver sad.
My wish seemed to be heard by the plant God, as the next day, a pink haired human, who had exactly the shade of the cherry blossom entered Silver's place. I did not question why she was here or how she got in, as I was very grateful that she gave me some water. FINALLY!
From then, Pink would pop up every now and then. She would clean the place and give me water regularly. I was really happy.
Pink was different yet similar to Golden and Silver. She chirped all the time like Golden, but her smile was different from Golden. Her smile looked more like Silver's during the fall, it was full of sorrow.
Two summers passed and Silver finally got back. After Silver got back, Pink never came back. That was ok with me, because this time Silver began to give me water regularly. His dogs would be around more often too, and the smallest finally stopped sniffing me. But I was not as happy as I was when I first moved, because Silver was not smiling like he used to.
As seasons passed, Silver began to smile again. He was not smiling as widely or freely as he used to, but at least, he was beginning to smile again.
Exactly two summers after Silver returned, he was leaving again. However, this time, before he was going to leave at fall, he set up a curious structure made up of plastic around me. After he left, I found out that this weird structure was supposed to let water he left evaporate and water me. I wonder why he did this, was it because he did not know when he was coming back?
Turn out, the structure was not of much use, he came back only within 3 days.
On the third day Silver left, something weird happened. The night suddenly turned into day after the moon, which was blood red, not silver like I knew appeared. What was weirder was that after the night suddenly turned into day, nothing was moving. Birds were frozen in the sky, and no humans were around. For some reason, a giant tree with what seemed like very flexible branches appeared. I hated that tree, as it gave out a really ominous feeling.
The hours of that weird day seemed to drown out much longer than usual. But as the night came, Silver came back too. This time, I could feel that something had changed. Silver was as happy as he used to be.
As fall passed and winter emerged, Silver did the same thing as Golden, he removed me from my place by the windowsill and out of the house. I did not understand why, but I did not question it. It did not feel like my first move, I did not feel like I was unwanted, so everything was fine.
Turned out, I was right. Silver was just moving me to a bigger place. In this place, there were several plants at the other room. But it did not matter to me, because I was still the only plant in the room where Silver sleeps.
The new place was more interesting. I was still located by the window, but the street I overlooked had more things going on compared to the old street. I also found it more interesting that different humans seemed to be coming over to water me.
First human was one with dark messy hair. Second human looked like the first, only his hair was neater, and his skin considerably paler. Third human gave me a sense of familiarity and kinship. He had brown hair and some weird metallic thing on his face. Fourth human had his hair covered by a cloth, and he seemed to be chewing on something sharp. Fifth and Sixth humans always came together. One has messy hair and a bandage on his face, and the other has his hair covered by a cloth, but he did not chew on anything sharp. Other than them, Golden and Pink popped up every now and then.
Two winters passed and spring came. By now, Pink popped up far more often. I sometimes saw her sitting with Silver in the other room.
Ever since that spring, Silver was smiling much more than he ever did for as long as I knew him. He seemed to be genuinely happy. He had been smiling without any hint of sorrow ever since the appearance of the red moon, but now, he seemed happier and content.
The next spring, Pink began living full time with Silver. Both Pink and Silver were really happy and content, which made me feel the same.
I did not think that I could see Silver getting more happy, but he did. With each passing days Silver spent with Pink, Silver grew happier.
Season passed and spring finally came again. This time, when Pink and Silver came home, they brought another human, a little human with the same hair colour as Silver. Not only that, Golden came to visit and brought along a plant who looked exactly like me. I immediately took a liking on her, and she did too.
Seasons come and go, and I spent every passing days with the new plant. I think I finally know how Silver and Pink feel. There is nothing that could make you feel happier than living with your soul mate by your side.
A/N: ukki fic seemed to somehow be in demand, and I was inspired by aijoinu's headcannon.
The seasons in this fic symbolised some things.
Fall- a season where things are falling apart.
Winter- in reference to Kakashi hiden (lightning in the frozen sky).
Summer- a season where the days are longer, it seems like you have to wait forever for the next day to come.
Spring- new beginnings, new starts.
Also, there's a crack theory about Ukki being the strongest being, so I thought I incorporate that in the story (Ukki was the only one not affected by Mugen Tsukuyomi :p)
