So it looks like all the vampires are coming to see us. Or at least that is the threat Aro sent if we didn't first get rid of all humans that know about us and then break from the wolves. If that wasn't bad enough it looks like Aro has also recruited some of the southern armies to overthrow us. As if any of that was going to happen. His specific words were that he was giving us two days to respond or he would start releasing newborns from the southern armies to attack us and the town of Forks and the La Push reservation. I was beyond pissed and could feel Enyo creeping out of the recesses of my mind to take over. I had to alert everyone quickly before she was in control and didn't recognize my family or friends. At the same time I could feel the air around me change and I knew that Ares was about to surface. But of course I was stuck in my thoughts and couldn't get out fast enough and Enyo refused to back down.
"Captain, front and center, NOW!"
"Oh shit!" He yelped.
"Oh shit is right, I'm pissed and you're about to have a visit from my warrior. Gather the troops and tell them to keep all humans away from me. I don't want to hurt any of them and I can't promise to keep my temper in check." I barked.
"Yes ma'am!" He squeaked before scurrying off.
"My Goddess, why is my captain running around like a scared little girl?" Ares cooed into my ear.
"He may be a bit scared after the last encounter with me." I whispered feigning shame and regret.
"Don't even play that game my love, you will lose!" He said kissing my neck and wrapping his arms around me.
"Just once can't you let me pretend to be a weak damsel in distress? You might actually enjoy it."
"Later, we have an army to prepare. I don't plan on giving the Volturi a chance to prepare. We leave as soon as everyone is assembled." He commanded.
"Emmett? Where is the alpha of the pack? I want everyone ready to go in five minutes, we have an Italian army to meet."
"Seth said he's on the way. Be here in five."
"Good. I'm tired of hiding its time we get to the bottom of this mess." Ares commented.
"Bella, Jasper? Emmett said we have to leave to fight the Volturi? Why? I just got a chance at some personal time with Ari and now I have to leave her unprotected with a chance that I won't make it back! It's just not fair!" One of the wolves whined. I believe his name is Embry mated to the only living member of Major Whitlock's human family.
"How dare you speak to me like that you whiny little mutt?!" Ares bellowed. "If you weren't mated to Jasper's niece I would kill you on the spot."
"Bella, why is Jasper speaking about himself in the third person and since when doesn't he like the idea of me and Ari? I thought he was glad she would have a normal future and a chance at a family."
"Wrong again pup, you will do as you're told or you won't get a chance to see your imprint ever again. We will leave you alive but separated from the girl. She will grow old and die and you will be heartbroken and begging for death." I spat at the foul-smelling teen.
"Uh..." The boy mumbled.
"Embry you idiot, I told you not to speak to them until they called you forward." The Lieutenant bellowed.
"But but they said...and now we have to..."
"Embry Call I order you to shut the hell up and move away from the god and goddess." Another smelly teen commanded with an authoritative timber to his voice. This must be the alpha.
"Listen to your alpha mutt or I will kill you myself. Mate to a Whitlock or not."
"Goddess of War, my apologies for his ignorance. His imprint is new and he is still easily upset at any possibility of losing her. We are ready to do as you both command." The alpha replied.
"Good because we leave now, move out! We have a vampire army to decimate." My warrior growled.
In the end we left a handful of wolves outside the house with Randall, Mary and Dominic. Leah seemed to be adjusting to the smell of human blood around her but Carlisle still made sure that she had a large supply of donated blood bags just in case. I had taken a moment to survey my house while all the training and meetings were going on and it did not escape my attention the destruction Jasper and Bella or should I say Ares and Enyo created. I was mad but it gave me something to do on the house after this was over.
We travelled quickly and were out of Washington within a few hours. We tracked the Volturi to a clearing in the mountains and scene we came upon was startling to say the least. If we make it through this mess I'm going on a three week long shopping trip to Paris! I may even take Carlisle with me, to hold my bags of course.
There were newborns everywhere! The Volturi were torturing some and training others, it was grisly even for vampires. There seemed to be a makeshift barn of sorts where some of the Volturi were stashing humans. Dear God that newborn just raped and drained that poor girl, I won't even vocalize that damage that he did to her physically. If I could throw up I believe that bush over there would be my new best friend.
"I know it doesn't make it better Esme but she was dead before most of the damage was done." Edward whispered to me while rubbing my back.

"Anytime." He replied.
"Enyo, pull back your shield I can't feel any of them." Ares commanded.
"I am only shielding our army my warrior." She replied.
"Why can't I feel any vampire or human then?"
"Sir I can't read any minds either." Edward interrupted.
"I don't understand, does that mean there is a shield down there as well?" Ares bellowed.
"Sir I believe you are right and I believe I know which one it is." Peter said.
"Point him out Captain. I want him eliminated and then we destroy the large one, the witch twins and the tracker. Anyone else with a talent is low in rank and insignificant in battle. It's time to weed the herd." Ares commanded.
"Yes sir but the shield is the small female standing next to the Volturi Kings. It will be difficult to kill her."
"Agreed. With her staying close to the Kings it will be extremely difficult, also we don't know if the shield is mental or physical." Ares agreed.
"Well we should test it then my warrior." Enyo stated.
"How do you suggest we do that? I will not willingly hand off any soldier to be slaughter by the Volturi."
"What if you had a volunteer that Aro would not kill?" Edward asked.
"Who? And why would he not kill this person?" Ares grunted.
"Alice. Right now Aro is probably wishing he had a seer to tip the scales. Carlisle has let it slip in the past that Aro doesn't have one and Carlisle was bold enough to let him know that Alice is one." Edward answered.
"Edward, no you can't let them have her." I cried.
"Esme it's alright I want to do this. Master, I will be fine. You are right, he wants a seer badly. Also I believe her shield is weaker than Mistress'. But I cannot be sure without testing it. May I try sir?" Alice quietly spoke.
"If the god and goddess are agreeable?" Edward answered.
"Just walk slowly down to the camp. As soon as you are near I will lower my shield on you but first I need to do one thing." Enzo announced.
"Yes ma'am."
"Mary Alice Brandon you will have no recollection of traveling here with our group. Edward sent you here to join with the Volturi until he arrives. You are allowed to tell Aro how many have come to help us but nothing else. Is that understood?" Enzo said in that eerie voice she uses when using her succubus powers on people.
"Yes ma'am."
"Good now go."
We watched as she slowly made her way to the camp and as soon as she came through the trees Enyo lifted her shield. Demetri locked on to her quickly and as she came closer to the group she hit an invisible shield stopping her in her tracks. We'll that answers the question on whether the shield was physical as we'll. Aro called to Jane and Felix to bring her to the kings and then motioned to the girl next to him and Alice was able to step forward. Felix had a hold of Alice and quickly restrained her before she had a chance to make a countermove.
But as soon as Felix drug Alice off to Aro the shield came back down. Ares got few emotions from the camp. Mostly fear from the humans and anger and rage from the newborns. Edward wasn't able to read much either just that Aro was going to stay true to his word and give us a week before surrendering to him.
Now it looks as I'd Aro is reading Alice and he doesn't look happy at what he is seeing in her thoughts. He spoke animatedly to the brothers and Caius was assembling more guards around them. Aro spoke quickly to Demetri and now he had his head cocked to the side before shaking his head slightly at Aro.
"I believe Aro is nervous and doesn't believe the thoughts he read from the pixie." Peter stated.
"Hunch Captain?" Ares questioned.
"Spidey senses are going haywire, Sir."
Ares stood still for a moment in what looked like a contemplating manner, he was about to say something when movement started in the camp below. Alice tried to get free of Felix but he had her restrained again. He passed her off to a guard member and followed Demetri to the edge of the camp. This time Caius called them back before sending more guards with them. The shield came down again and the five vampires started out toward us.
"My love, is your shield up?" Ares whispered.
"Of course."
"Good, I don't want to give up our advantage on them."
"Sir?" Edward whispered.
"Yes mind reader what is it?" Ares replied in an annoyed manner.
"Alice just told me that Enyo can split the physical shield like a knife."
"The seer is sure of this?"
"Yes, she is not capable of holding one shield while the other comes down. She has little control and agility on them."
"And what of the others coming towards us now?"
"Sir I believe that Emmett can easily take Felix, I got Demetri and the wolves can detain the three others." Peter replied.
"Your inner voice talking again?"
"Only when the shield came down."
"Okay, new plan Emmett you got Felix, Captain detain Demetri and wolves can do whatever they feel like with the rest. As soon as that happens the kings will go nuts. Then it's Enyo's turn, make it quick my love. Take out the shield and we'll see where it goes from there." Ares commanded.
We sat in our hiding spot waiting for the scouting party to get closer. It was so nerve racking I can't even explain it. Felix is at Demetri's side quietly asking whether or not he senses anything and the guards behind them just keep sniffing the air. Can they smell us or the wolves? Are we going to make it through this? Will we lose any friends? I just want it to be all over and I'm so nervous I almost didn't notice Edward squeezing my hand.
"We'll make it. I promise. Alice has seen it." He soothed.
"Not really an assurance considering Alice wanted to use you to rule the vampire world."
"Yes but Enyo fixed her and she no longer wants to rule. She just wants to please me."
"Shut yer trap golden boy. They're getting close. When Emmett makes a move on Felix you and I are tossing the three in back to the wolves, literally." Garett commanded.
Edward nodded before looking in my direction. "Stay with Eleazar, you'll be safe with him."
i wanted to say something or to at least hug him but the next thing I knew Emmett was flying at Felix and one of his legs was now wiggling on the ground. Peter had Demetri in a choke hold. Edward grabbed one of the guards and Garett had the other two one he tossed high in the air and a silver wolf caught the guard like a frisbee. I think that was Paul. The other two guards didn't fair any better. Body parts were flying and someone threw a lighter on the pile of body parts.
"Now my goddess!" Ares bellowed.
"With pleasure my warrior." She cooed.
She held her hands to the side like she was holding a bat and suddenly a blue light came streaming out of her hands. She swung it towards the shield and a strange shimmer seemed to covered the Volturi. Just as quickly as it appeared the shimmer stopped and then Enyo threw another stream of light at the vampire who controlled the shield slicing the girl lengthwise down her body. Somehow Alice managed to sneak closer to Aro and the girl and threw a lit zippo on her. Then we're now defenseless.
Aro yelled for Jane but it was too late, Enyo already had us wrapped in her shield. Ares through what Emmet would describe as a shit ton of calm at all the Volturi that some of them collapsed where they were standing.
"Aro I think it's time we had a talk." Ares chuckled.
"Honey, guess who's coming to dinner?" Peter mumbled.
