Honestly there are no words for the fun I'm having right now. Aro was beside himself and there was nothing he could do. His eyes darted around the camp looking for some way to take control. I didn't need the mind reader to know that Aro was planning a way to win. A win that never come to him! His brothers both move slightly closer to him extending out a hand each. Without looking he grabbed both and after a moment he slightly nodded his head and took an unnecessary breath. Releasing both their hands he stepped forward before scanning the guard standing around him.
"Dear ones, what is the meaning of this attack? I gave you time to come to me and all you needed to do was pass over the power that you are guarding. Instead you come here early and kill three of my guard not to mention my new shield. That alone I should kill you all as a show of my power but I find myself curious to see the end of what you are trying to do." Aro stated haughtily.
"You're curious? Really, old man?! I know exactly what you are doing and it won't work. We are more powerful than you and we just want to be left alone." My warrior growled.
"Leave now and you may live to see another day. Stay and I can't promise any of you will survive. I'm not feeling too charitable right now." I added.
The brothers stared me down, sizing up my abilities as a vampire. Marcus held his hand out to Aro and during that moment his face showed a mix of emotions and they all made me both angry and nervous. The mind reader leaned in close to Ares and quickly told him that Marcus saw our bond and was relaying that message to Aro. Aro was now speaking in code to Caius to inform him of the situation. Caius looked like he was contemplating the future with Ares under his rule and Aro was smirking. Marcus still looked as sad as ever and I honestly felt for him and wanted to end his existence. Edward had told me once how he lost his own mate and Chelsea had been used to bond him to Aro for an unforeseeable time frame. Caius was now gesturing to a guard standing watch over the newborns and Peter guffawed.
"Sir, incoming attack in 30 seconds." Peter whispered.
"He can't be serious did he not see the shield that sliced through his shield?" My warrior questioned.
"I wouldn't try that if I were you Aro. They will be cut down quicker than your shield I slaughtered." I announced.
"The blue light came from you?" Aro questioned.
"Yes. What can't you believe that a newborn can be so disciplined?" I retorted.
"My apologies, I meant no offense. This is indeed wonderful news. I wanted to gain the shield and powerful succubus that you were harboring but I didn't count on it including a mate as great as the God of War. Such a blessing for us brothers. We will be so powerful that no vampire will ever think to stop us."
"Think again old man, I will bow to no man, self proclaimed king or vampire." Ares growled.
"Self proclaimed? Why you rude and arrogant child! We were ruling the vampire world long before this country was founded. Show some respect for your superiors, Major!" Caius hollered.
"Calm yourself Caius, I'm sure he meant no harm. Major, you must admit that we vastly outnumber you. You cannot win this battle." Aro declared.
"You are wrong on two parts Aro. First, that is not the Major you are speaking to but the God of War, my warrior Ares. Second, we can easily tear you to shreds. You forget that Felix, Demetri and Jane are under our control. If you leave now and agree never to pursue us again we will let them live and possible yourselves as well. Choose to fight us and no one gets to live past this day." I growled.
"I see that Felix and Demetri are subdued but I fail to see what control you have on Jane. She stands strong beside me not pinned to the ground like prisoner. And as for living I have been alive for more than one millennia I believe I will make it another day at least." Aro cooed.
"Well then let's test a theory, the Captain here will gladly be the guinea pig. Test Jane's power on him if you're not too scared that is." I stated calmly.
"Ma'am why do I have to be the guinea pig?" Peter whispered.
"Hush. Stop acting like such a baby, grow a pair for heaven's sake!"
Peter grumbled as Aro looked to Jane then delicately wave a hand in front of him pushing her on.
Jane whispered the word pain while staring daggers at the Captain but the only thing that happened was Alec screamed and crumpled to the ground. Jane immediately stopped what she was doing and flitted to her brother's side. Aro gave a sideways glance at the pair before returning his attention to me.
"What was that? How dare you attack one of my guard." He roared.
"We did no such thing, Jane attacked but unfortunately her brother paid the price." I laughed.
"How?" Caius questioned.
"A shield around the pair. I thought it would absorb the power not bounce it off of her to him but the end result is quite enjoyable. The shield does not come off of the two of them and I suggest you not get to close to them because its not fitted close to their bodies. But if you do want to feel Jane's power then by all means get all cozy with them." I laughed, thoroughly enjoying myself.
Caius took that moment to eye the guard in charge of the newborns and five came running toward our group in attack. I nodded to the wolves and they tore the vamps apart in less than ten seconds. A new fire pluming.
"Such insolence!" Caius roared.
"Major, Bella you cannot win. We will overpower you. You belong to me and I will have my trophies." Aro called out.
"We belong to no one but each other old man. Get over it. My love I believe they have made up their minds shall we end them now?" Ares cooed into my ear.
"Every vampire that walks this earth basically belongs to me. I created everyone of your sires and can easily destroy them and you without batting an eyelash." Aro announced. "Did you never ask Maria who made her Major? She was nearly 800 years old when she made you was she not."
Damn Aro made Maria well that sucks for him. His daughter destroyed by his grandson so to speak.
"Sir does that mean I have to start calling Aro great grandpa?" Peter joked.
"No Captain, since Maria is dead I believe that severs our connection to his lineage."
"You killed your own sire?! My beloved daughter?" Aro screamed.
"The bitch stole my only living relative, she deserved a thousand deaths but I was kind and ended her existence quickly." My warrior smirked.
"You saved a human and killed your sire?" Caius questioned.
"Of course I did! She was a colossal bitch and my niece was an innocent bystander."
At that moment another vamp attacked a human and the wolves went nuts. Don't get me wrong I liked the fact that the wolves were having fun but I needed to know why to explain to the 'Kings'.
"Alpha, report!" Ares bellowed.
Another wolf shifted and ran to stand in front of us after thankfully putting a pair of shorts on. He seemed young but then it was hard to tell with them considering they were constantly burning food and energy because of the wolf gene. I wonder if the gene causing any of their aging to reverse or if it just slows it down.
"Ma'am, Sir. We attacked because one of the pack imprinted on the girl that the vamp attacked. She is scared but her wolf has her calm and away from the action. We will not attack again without your approval, we apologize for our actions." He explained.
"No apologies necessary wolf, we would have done the same if it were us." Ares soothingly replied.
"No apologies, are you insane? He attacked our newborns I can't wait for Master to kill you." The one called Felix wheezed.
"Major, Isabella I think it is wise for the three of us to talk privately. I'm sure we can come to an arrangement that will benefit us all." Aro cooed.
"He thinks he can overpower you if you are distracted." The mind reader whispered.
"I promise nothing will happen to your soldiers while we talk. I only want to make us as powerful as possible and with you on our guard we will be indestructible." Aro quickly explained trying to ease our concerns.
"If it pleases you then we can talk in private but know that the result is still the same. I bow to no one and will leave you in pieces or ash if you try to overpower me." Ares threatened.
"And I told you that I will have the power so you will surrender to me and you will be placed in my guard." Aro retorted.
"Why do we even bother my warrior, he should be ash with the rest of his precious guard and coven." I spat.
"Yes my goddess but where would the fun be in that? I believe that we should break him down first watch as his brothers and guard and coven leave him high and dry then we burn him to ash." Ares cooed.
"What are you talking about the Volturi would never betray one of their own. I saved them all, made them stronger and feared by all. None of them would ever leave me."
"I see where you are going with this, point her out and I'll get the ball rolling so to speak." I spoke winding my arms around my warriors waist.
"I believe that you will have to use your other gift on Aro to find her out. All I know is that she is a brunette but there are several in the guard."
"What are you two talking about?" Aro Suddenly asked.
"Patience old man, you'll see in due time." I replied.
"My warrior, I'm keeping the shield on you though. Now is not the time for a claiming."
"Now Aro, dear one I require a piece of information from you. Chelsea, which one is she? Make her come to you." I cooed while swiveling my hips and winking.
"Chelsea, dearest I require your assistance over here." Aro called out without glossy eyes. What can I say, I'm that good.
I could here mumblings from the peanut gallery, I'm sure they thought Aro had the upper hand. They were wrong, dead wrong.
"Yes Master." Chelsea spoke flitting to Aro's side.
So this was the bond creator. She isn't much, brunette like me and beautiful but nothing really noteworthy. Oh well on with my plan but first a clarifying question or two.
"Chelsea darling, do you have a mate?"
"Yes, Afton." She said with glossy eyes and baited breath.
"Do you stay here because of him or the security provided? Or maybe you used your gift on him as well?" I asked. I may be bloodthirsty but I'm not about to kill one half of a mated couple to un-bond an entire coven.
"Afton found me and brought me here, he knew we would be safe here. I trusted him and Master Aro promised we would be allowed to stay together forever If I bonded all of Volterra." She practically whispered.
"Why would you not stay together, aren't you a mated couple?" I questioned.
"Yes we are but Master Aro threatened Afton's life if I did not bond Marcus and Caius to him. Once I did that he kept threatening until everyone was bonded." She whimpered.
Interesting.
"Can the bond be undone?"
"Yes, easily but then Afton will be killed. I could not survive without him."
"Hush, sweetheart. If I promise that you and Afton would be safe would you be so kind as to remove the bonds?"
"Would we be allowed to leave without anyone harassing us?" She asked.
"I guarantee it."
"Okay, give me a moment. Afton please come here, I need your help." She said.
Afton was there in a second and quickly held her close. She was concentrating on the groups in front of us and after a moment they all started to look around as if trying to figure out how they got to this valley in the middle of the U.S. Chelsea then collapsed and Afton quickly picked her up and with a last look at us ran off without another word.
What happened next will be etched in my memory for eternity and a day. I put my shield back up and Aro quickly fell out of his daze for me or was it my powers, who cares. The Volturi were getting antsy and some of the guard started to re-position themselves further away from us and the wolves. I quickly placed a physical shield on all of them to keep them from running amuck.
"No, no no no no tell me you didn't! You have no idea what you have done! This is suicide, without Chelsea's bond they will revolt, they will kill, they will massacre! We are all doomed!" Aro wailed.
"No I believe you are the only doomed one Aro." Marcus called out.
In a flash of black and gold cloaks and red silk and satin, both Caius and Marcus had first removed Aro's legs and then another swoosh and his arms were gone as well. Laying flat on his back with fear in his eyes he met the angry red eyes of his "brothers". Caius circled Aro several times tsking as he went. Marcus murmuring to Caius to get on with it.
"I believe Aro, this is the part where I tell you that I own you." Caius growled.
"Brother please I only wanted to keep us close, a family for eternity."
"Silence, you know I was preparing to leave to travel and see the world. Marcus was about to do the same. Didyme was gone, he wanted to find another companion or his mate but instead you enslaved us both. For that, not only will you not rule the Volturi but you will spend that same amount of time with your head mounted on the wall behind my thrown and then maybe I'll kill you." He announced.
With that he removed Aro's head while Marcus put a torch to his body and limbs.
Damn I only wish I could still eat popcorn because that was one hell of a show!
Hello my lovelies, long time no read! I hope you enjoy this chapter, I was having a hell of a time getting it to the screen the way I was thinking of in my head. Kisses.
