I'm proud to present, CHAPTER 35!
"CAM!" I heard Bex first. She ran over at full speed and pulled me into a bone-crushing hug.
"Hi Bex, I missed you too. I was only gone for like two days!" Soon everyone else caught up to what was happening. I was wrapped into a hug of my four best friends/roommates, and then my mom, dad, Joey, and aunt Abby all got hugs. Grant gave me an even more bone crushing hug than Bex, if that was even humanly possible. Zach stood off to the side. I watched him out of the corner of my eye as I began speaking to Lizzie.
"Oh, and by the way Lizzie, I love you, but take the trackers off of my shoes. I'm perfectly capable of handling myself. After all, who just escaped for the like seventh time?" I slipped off my shoes and handed them to Liz.
"What happened?" My mom demanded. I looked around nervously.
"Well you know about the attacks." I explain that I was captured but left out who by, and explained my escape and venture here, it took me a toto of about five minutes. "I have to get some food because I haven't had anything to eat since the last meal I had while I was out with the girls. I'll be back." There were murmured okays and nodding so I turned towards the door as if to leave.
"Oh, by the way Zach, your mom says hi." Everyones shocked faces stared at me as I turned on my heel and sprinted towards the nearest passageway in order to escape the many people coming after me for information.
—
I found him in the PE barn, punching the living daylights out of the already dead punching bags. I walked up silently behind him, and tapped him on the shoulder. He turned around in an offensive position.
"Jeez, I just came to talk, no need to get all defensive." I said with a smirk.
"You were with Catherine."
"Yes, that's what I said. Or more like inferred." He looked like he was going to turn back and start punching the living daylights out of the bag again, so I grabbed his arm and led him over to a bench that was placed outside of the ring.
"I'm glad you're okay." Zach whispered, quietly enough that a normal person wouldn't hear it, but I was no normal person.
"Wow, is Zachary Goode a softie?" I asked grinning, while jabbing him in the side with my elbow.
"Did you know? When you knew me before did you know?"
"I knew from the second I laid eyes on you Zach that you were Catherine's kid."
"What did she do to you?"
"Nothing she hasn't done before."
"But what…" I held my arms out and raised an eyebrow, daring him to check for himself. He pushed the sleeves of my sweatshirt past my elbow, and stared at my face in shock. He saw the puckered scratches and cuts from more recently, but he also saw the scars that had existed for a long time, the ones I was careful to cover with concealer or clothing. He didn't say anything for a few minutes. "I hate that she's like this. I was supposed to be her minion too. She had me killing people when I was seven. I hate myself just for the fact I'm related to her."
"Zach, everyone has hardships. I've killed more people than I could count of all of my fingers and toes. You can't blame yourself for the things others have done. In this business, that'll get you killed."
I didn't notice how close our faces were, until I finished speaking and I looked at his deep emerald eyes, which were full of an actual emotion I had yet to identify. Zach lifted his hand and placed it on the side of my face gently, leaned forward, and then Zach did something I had hoped for, but never thought would happen in a million years.
He kissed me.
EEEEKKKKK. YOu guys have no IDEA how much I've been waiting to write this chapter, I'm super pysched to be giving you your ZAMMIE KISS!
