"So that's all we have. No witnesses, no camera footage, just the defendant and his word. I don't know about you but I'm not buying his story one bit." Mercedes said as she walked around the darken conference room, flipping through the PowerPoint.

"I'm not either but I don't know how we're going to build a case against him.." Chris said as rubbed his temples defeatedly.

"You don't see it?" Angie, the newest member of the team, said as she stood up and went over to the board, grabbing a marker and began writing what they did know, "With his behavioral analysis, that put us in a lead way. We have enough to build a circumstantial case."

Mercedes nodded as she turned on the lights and look them, "Lets get to it then.

Lindsey knocked on the door and opened it, giving them an apologetic look, "Sorry but I need to talk to Mercedes, it's an emergency."

Mercedes stood up and went to her, moving outside the room, "What's wrong?"

Lindsey closed the door and turned to her, "The principal called from Madison's school. They need you to come down there."

"What? What happened?" Mercedes asked in panic as she started to make her way to her office.

Lindsey followed behind her quickly, "She wouldn't tell me but they tried to get ahold of Sam but I know he has the last part of the trial this morning."

Mercedes nodded as she grabbed her purse, slinging it on her shoulder as she headed for the elevators. She turned around as she pressed the button and stepped in, "I'll be back."

"Okay." Lindsey said as she watched the doors close, taking a deep breath as she walked back to her desk, "I hope everything's alright."

Maverick sat back in the seat in the principal office, rubbing Madison's back to try to calm her down. This was not how he expected the day to turn out.

Madison sat back in her desk as she wrote down the notes, chuckling when she looked up and saw the girls basically drooling over their teacher.

"Does anyone have any questions?" Mr. Carter asked as he looked up before adding quickly, "That has something to do with the lesson this time."

Madison laughed slightly to herself as she raised her hand.

"Yes, Ms. Evans.." He smiled as he called her.

"What was the purpose of Macbeth killing King Duncan if he respected him so?"

"The question that has a lot of opinions. Well, Shakespeare puts it in a way that when Lady Macbeth plans to kill the king, she wants power and control and Macbeth didn't really want to do it at first..." He stopped when the bell interrupted him, "And I'll finish answering your question tomorrow. Have a great day everyone."

"Bye Mr. Carter.." A group of girls giggled as they waved at him.

Madison smiled as she put her things in her book bag, standing up with a shake of her head. She walked towards the front of the class with a smirk as she stood in front of her brother, "If only they knew the truth about you Mr. Carter.."

Maverick laughed as he leaned against his desk, "They're like vultures, Madi. Hormonal teenage vultures."

"Aww, you'll be okay." She pinched his cheeks with a smirk, patting them before she headed for the door, "See you at dinner tonight."

"See you later." He called out at her, shaking his head as he moved to sit down.

Madison smiled when she saw her best friend waiting for her at her locker.

"Madelyn, guess who just passed their French test?" She said with a happy smirk on her face.

"Larry?" She joked as she put her combination in, laughing softly when she glared at her.

Alexis rolled her eyes, "No..me." She handed her the paper, showing it to her excitedly, "I made an A. I owe you big time for helping me study because that damn test was hard."

"Congrats." She hugged her before letting go, grabbing the books she needed for her next class.

"Hey there Madison.." A voice called out.

Madison slammed her locker close before turning around, "What the hell do you want?"

"Why so snappy?" Daisy laughed as she stepped closer to her, "I just wanted to invite you to our family reunion..yeah, your real family is having a get together."

"Get lost flower girl.." Alexis frowned at her.

"Y'all are not my real family and plus, I don't have nor want anything to do with your crooked family." She glared at once again before grabbing Alexis's arm, walking away.

"And you think that bitch and her kids are your family?" Daisy yelled out, causing everyone to stop and look on.

Alexis eyes with wide at the words, "Diablos no." She watched as Madison stopped in her tracks, her usual bright green eyes were now darken with anger, "Oh shit."

"What did you just say?" Madison's voice was low and lethal as she dropped her book bag to the ground, walking back up to her.

Daisy faltered for a moment before she straighten back up, "You heard me. It's only a matter of time before that bitch leaves."

Madison pushed her against the locker and pointed her finger in her face, "Don't you ever fix your mouth to call my mother a bitch again or talk about my siblings."

"Get it through your thick skull Madison, she's not your mother. No matter how you want to pretend she is, she's n-" Her words were cut off when felt a hand connect to her face, looking up shock for a moment before she pushed the shorter girl back.

Madison growled as she tackled her to the ground and punched her in the face.

"FIGHT." Someone yelled out as a large crowd began to form around the girls.

Alexis was in complete shock. Her usually sweet Madelyn was not there at the moment and she honestly felt like a proud parent right now. Coming out of her amusement, she ran down the hallway and into the classroom, "Mr. Carter, we have a situation in the hallway."

Maverick stood up and walked out the door, seeing the crowd, he saw the security officers running down the stairs and he began running to the crowd, "Move.." He said as he pushed his way through the students. He stopped when he saw who it was, his eyes going wide, "Madison stop." He leaned down and pulled on her but she had a tight grip on Daisy's hair, "Let her go.."

Madison was done being nice and letting the situation go. Daisy had been making slide remarks every since they've been going to the same school and she was sick of it. She grunted when she felt her hit her lip. She grabbed her by her shoulders and pushed her into the ground harder, completely oblivious to Maverick trying to make her stop.

"MADISON, LET HER GO." He yelled out as he struggled to get his sister to stop.

"STOP." Daisy cried out a she covered her face, trying to fight back but was failing.

"You should learn to not talk about my family bitch." Madison said through gritted teeth, only stopping when she felt someone pulled her up form the ground.

Maverick finally got her up and moved her to the side, turning to the kids who had their phones out, "Delete that video. If I see it on the internet, there will be hell to pay. Get to class, RIGHT NOW." He watched as they scrambled off to class, placing his hands on his waist before he turned back to his sister.

"Mr. Carter, we have to take her to the principal office." One officer said.

"I'll take her myself.." He tossed Daisy a look, knowing that she probably was the one who started it with the shit Madison has been telling him about, "You get her and keep her far away from my sister." He gripped Madison's arm tightly and led her down the hallway.

"What happened?" Mercedes asked as she walked into the office, her scanning over everyone in the room.

"Mrs. Evans, please have a seat." The principal said, watching as she sat down, she cleared her throat and began to talk, "Madison was involved in an altercation today with another student."

Madison bounced her knee rapidly, moving her hair back from her face when she heard the principal start talk. She kept her head down, not wanting to see the disappointment on Mercedes's face.

"Since someone busted all the security cameras when it started, I couldn't see what happened. I'm suspending her for five days..it should be longer but I have had kids come to me and tell me that Madison didn't start it. The other girl-"

Mercedes held up her hand, "It doesn't matter about the other one, she's not my concern. My only concern is this one right here in this room. "

"Yes ma'am I understand but if her parents decide to press cha-

"Mrs. Banks, I understand what you're trying to say and appreciate you looking out but we can take care of it. Is there anything else?"

Mrs. Banks sighed and shook her head, "You can take her home now."

Mercedes stood up and looked at Madison, "Lets go.." She watched as the young girl got up and headed out the door, she turned to the principal, "Thank you." She closed the door and took a deep breath, looking at her daughter, "Go get your things and meet me in the car."

"Yes ma'am." She said quietly as she looked at Maverick before she walked to her locker.

Maverick placed his hands in his pockets as he sighed, "Let her explain what happened before you punish her."

"I am." She said as she looked at him, "I never jump to conclusions."

Maverick nodded, looking down at his watch, "I have a class in five minutes. I'll be over tonight."

"Alright." She placed her purse on her shoulder and kissed his cheek, "Love you."

"Love you too." He smiled softly before he headed in the other direction. He couldn't believe that his sweet little Madison had gotten into a fight today.

When they got home, Mercedes had Madison sit on a stool in the kitchen so she could clean off her lip, "Sorry." Mercedes said when she saw her wince. Madison had explained to Mercedes what had happen and honestly it made Mercedes livid that this girl was still bothering her daughter, "You know I'm not mad at you right?"

"I know.." Madison said quietly, wincing when she continued to placed some cream on her lip, "Dad is going to be another story."

Mercedes sighed as she tossed the things in the trash. Running her hands through her hair, she jumped slightly when she heard the front door slam.

"MERCEDES." Sam yelled out through the house.

"We're in the kitchen.." She called out, moving around the counter.

Sam threw the keys down in the bowl as he walked to the kitchen. He stopped when he saw them, looking pointedly at his daughter, "What the hell happen?"

"Sam, calm down.."

"No Mercedes. She got suspended from school for fighting."

"Dad, If you would just let me explain.." Madison said as she stood up from the stool.

"No." He cut her off, "Madison, what was you thinking? Fighting? This isn't you."

"What was I thinking dad? That's what you're asking? I was tired of Daisy running her mouth. I lost it because she talked about my mother and my siblings today and that's something you don't do. You tell me dad, what would you do if someone called mom a bitch and tell you repeatedly that she is going to leave? You would react the same way I did."

Sam took a deep breath, pinching the bridge of his nose, "Ignore it Madison. You know she's just spitting bullshit so why entertain it?"

"Well dad, I got tired of ignoring it." She bit out, looking at him angrily.

Sam pointed his finger at her, "You better watch your damn tone."

"Both of you need to calm down." Mercedes said to them, going to speak further before she heard sniffling behind her.

"Why are you yelling?" Mckenzie asked quietly with tears in her eyes, looking at her dad and sister as she held on to her teddy bear tightly.

Sam tore his eyes away from Madison and looked down at his youngest daughter. He sighed as he moved to her but his heart immediately dropped when she moved away from him, "Kenzie.."

Madison wiped her eyes as she picked up her little sister, kissing her cheek as she took her out of the kitchen, "I'm sorry Kenz.."

Mercedes glared at her husband, "You should listen to what she had to say Sam. Instead of being mad about that she got into a fight and that she got suspended, listen to what the hell she is trying to tell you." She pushed passed him and headed into the living room to try to console both of their daughters.

Sam ran his hands over his face, letting out a groan. He wasn't mad at his daughter, he was just so frustrated and sick of this shit with Nicole. Why the fuck couldn't her and her family stay out of their lives?

That night, dinner was tense. The only thing you could here was the scrapping of forks against the plate. Madison was disappointed in herself for scooting down to that level but she didn't regret doing what she did. Mercedes was completely pissed off with Sam. He didn't even let Madison explain because he was jumping to conclusions like he always did. She was sitting slanted in her chair as she helped Kenzie eat her spaghetti, watching her little girl closely.

Savannah could feel the tension at the dinner table and she didn't know why but she decided break it, "So everyone..Spence and I have a big announcement."

Everyone looked at the twins curiously, waiting for one of them to spill the beans.

"Yeah, we both got a lead part in the winter play.." He smiled brightly.

"Congrats you guys. You're going to have so much fun, trust me." Maverick said with a smile, remembering when he did The Lion King in second grade.

"That's so great you two. I'm so proud of you." Mercedes smiled at her twins.

"I can't wait to come and see y'all." Sam said as he picked up his glass.

"Can I be excused?" Madison asked as she sat her fork down.

Mercedes leaned forward and wiped Kenzie's mouth, smiling when she smiled at her. She looked up when Madison asked to be excused, looking down at her plate, "You didn't eat anything baby."

"I'll probably eat something later. I'm not really hungry right now."

"You're excused but don't go the bed without eating anything."

"Yes ma'am.." She said quietly as she stood up and picked up her plate, heading towards the kitchen.

Sam sipped his water down before he wiped his mouth, getting up from the table, he walked towards the kitchen and found Madison wrapping her plate up, "Can we talk?"

Madison looked up when he spoke, nodding slowly as she opened the refrigerator to sit her plate in there. Closing it back, she hopped on the kitchen counter and stared at him.

"I just want to say I'm sorry for earlier. I overreacted and I didn't let you explain to me what happened."

He sighed as he moved to stand in front of her "I understand that you were pissed and you still are. And you were right, I would react the same way you did it someone said that..I'll probably react worse."

Madison took a deep breath as she placed her hands in her lap, playing with her fingers, "I'm sorry dad. For being disrespectful..and for fighting."

"It's okay." He smiled softly as he stuck his hands in his pockets, "I can understand your frustration, I really can. I'm sick of them too.."

Madison nodded before she looked at him with a serious expression, "I've been thinking a lot lately and I know you and mom are going to freak when I ask this but I need to see her.."

Sam eyes bugged out, shaking his head, "No, that's not happening."

"Just hear me out dad." She said softly as she looked at him, "I need to see her. I need to look her in her face and let her know that she can't ruin our life anymore. I need to let her know that she has no control over my life any longer. I need to look her dead in the eyes dad to let her know this. A phone call will not do it. Please dad."

Sam rubbed his hands down his face. He was so against this. It was no way in hell he wanted her near her and he knew Mercedes was going to feel the same way. He looked at her and could tell she was not backing down from this. His very fragile little girl was no longer there anymore. Instead, she was turned into a strong, independent young woman. He knew that she could do this but did he really want her to? Hell no, "Look, I really don't want you to do this but I know it's something that needs to be done. So you're going to be the one to tell Mercedes you're going.."

Madison smiled as she jumped off the counter, wrapping her arms around him for a hug, "Thank you daddy. I love you."

Sam smiled as he hugged her back, kissing her forehead, "I love you too Muffin.." He let go of her and watch her go into the living room. He took a calming breath before he walked back into the dining room, seeing only Maverick and the twins, "Where's mom and Kenzie?"

"Mom went upstairs to give Kenz a bath and ready for bed. She was sleepy." Spencer answered as he leaned forward and put another serving of spaghetti on his plate. Looking over at sister, who was shaking her head, "What? I'm a growing boy."

Sam shook his head and let out a laugh, "I'll be back." He walked out and headed up the stairs, walking down the hallway until her got to the room. He saw that the door was already cracked and he knocked on it.

Mercedes had just finishing helping Mckenzie into her pajamas and brushing up her hair when she heard the knock. She turned around and saw it was Sam. She took a deep breath before turning back to their daughter with a smile, kissing her cheek, "Goodnight."

"Goodnight mommy, love you." She said sweetly.

Mercedes smiled as she got off the bed, "Love you more baby." She turned around and moved out the room, ignoring Sam fully as she did.

Sam bit down on his lip as he walked and sat in his daughter's bed, looking at her, "I'm sorry for yelling sweetheart. Daddy was just really upset."

Mckenzie stared at her daddy with her big hazel eyes, holding out her pinky for him, "Promise you won't do it anymore.."

Sam connected his pinky with hers and kissed them, "I Promise." He leaned down and kissed her all over her face, tickling her sides.

Mckenzie let out a loud squeal, giggling madly as she twisted and turned in the bed.

Sam chuckled as he stopped, leaving a big kiss on her cheek as he stood up, "I love you baby girl."

Mckenzie calmed down and looked at him with a smile, pulling the covers up on her as she closed her eyes, "I love you too daddy."

Sam smiled as he walked to the door, cutting the lights off and leaving a crack before he walked towards their bedroom. He leaned against the doorframe, watching his wife closely as she sat in the bed.

"Would you stop staring at me?" She asked as she looked at him.

"Nope.." He said smugly, walking over to stand in front of her, "You're too beautiful to not stare at."

Mercedes pursed her lips as she rolled her eyes.

"I'm sorry." He whispered as he pushed her back gently onto the bed, straddling her lap. He pressed small kisses on her lips as he stared into her eyes apologetically.

Mercedes tried like hell to keep up her bravo but she knew she couldn't. She let out a deep sigh before looking at him, "You just need to start listening before jumping to conclusions."

"I know and I'm sorry." He kissed her again before rolled off of her and laid on his back, running his hands over his face, "I also took my anger from work and took it out on her, I'm sorry baby."

"You know the rule Sam. Leave work at work, don't bring it home." She said softly before grabbing his hand, bringing to her lips for a kiss, "Was it bad?"

"Very bad but we can talk about tomorrow."

Mercedes nodded as she threw her hip over his, pushing herself up to straddle his lap. She kissed him on the lips fully, "I love you."

"I love you more." He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her down, her body resting against his. He pressed a kiss against her forehead before closing his eyes. Tomorrow was going to be a better day.

A/N. Well I warned y'all you were going to see a different side of Madison. What do you think of her reaction to Daisy words? Do you think it's a good idea for her to go see Nicole? And did you catch the Macbeth reference? Yeah, we're reading the play in English and I just had to put it in here, lol. All of your questions will be answered next time. :)
