Sam shrugged off his suit jacket and placed it on the back of his chair. Today had been a very special day for the Evans family. Their son, Maverick, had begun a new chapter in his life. Maverick surely kept his word about the wedding being soon. He told his parents that he didn't want to spend another day without Brent so they got married on New Years Eve. It was a small ceremony with close family and friends. He looked over at his wife and couldn't help but smile at the happiness that etched across her face.

Mercedes swayed to the music with Mckenzie in her lap. Today had been such an emotional yet amazing day for her. Her son had married his best friend and she was so happy to see Maverick happy. Her eyes followed Sam as he walked up front, wondering what he was doing.

The DJ cut off the music and handed Sam the mic. He looked out at the crowed, "Um, can I have everyone's attention for just a moment please." He waited for everyone to quite down before he began to talk, "I hope you guys are enjoying this beautiful reception.." He smiled when they clapped loudly, taking a deep breath, "I won't be long. I just have a few words." He scanned the crowd until he found Maverick and Brent, "I just want to congratulate this beautiful couple on their union. Its been a long time coming. You guys have been through a lot and I'm so happy that you finally got your stuff together." He smiled as he look to Maverick, "I'm super proud of the man you have turned out to be. I remember first meeting you that night and I didn't tell anyone but I was legit scared. But after I got to know you, I think my nerves finally calmed down. You see, when Mercedes and I started dating, I made it clear to Maverick that I wasn't trying to replace his dad. That's the last thing I ever wanted to do." Mercedes smiled as she felt her eyes start to water up. Sam cleared his throat a little, feeling himself getting emotional, "Over the months, we started to create this special bond like no other. You started to open up more and more with me and you have no idea how much that meant to me.." His voice started to crack. Maverick wiped his eyes as he continued to look on, "I remember the first time you called me dad..I thought it was just a slip of the tongue but when you said it again, I knew that you actually meant it.." At this point, there wasn't a dry eye in the room. Sam wiped his eyes before clearing his throat again, letting out a watery chuckle, "I'm proud of you son. So proud." Madison sniffled loudly as she listened to her dad speak. Spencer looked at his older sister as she cried and he wrapped his arms around her waist. Mercedes was a full out crying mess right about now. Just when she thought she couldn't love her husband more, he surprised her, "Congratulations again you two.." He handed the DJ the microphone back and descended down the steps.

Maverick met him halfway, engulfing him into a big hug. He laid his head down on Sam's shoulder as he cried, "I-I love you so much. Thank you for being there for me..thank you for being my dad."

Sam hugged him back tightly as they stood there, rocking them back and forth, "Thank you for giving me a chance to be a father to you."

Mercedes bit her lip as she watched on. She wanted so badly to go up there and join them but she knew they needed this moment. Mckenzie looked up and wiped her mommy's tears, leaning up to press a kiss to her cheek. Mercedes gave her a watery smile as she hugged her daughter. This was truly a beautiful start to a new year.

Madison looked out the window and cringed. It was a dark and rainy New Years Day. Way to start off the year she thought. She was so glad that they were staying in today though. She smiled softly to herself as she got up and headed downstairs. Maverick's wedding yesterday was absolutely amazing. She was so overjoyed for her big brother. He deserved this happiness and she was definitely glad that he found it with Brent. Don't get her wrong, years ago, she did like Levi but she knew, even at seven years old, he wasn't the one.

"What are you thinking so hard about?" Maverick asked as he stood with his arms crossed at the bottom of the stairs.

Madison came out of her thoughts, looking at him with a smile as she made it to the last step, wrapping her arms around his neck and jumping on his back, "I was thinking about you actually. How happy I am for you and Brent."

Maverick adjusted her on his back, keeping a tight grip underneath her knees as they began to walk, "Aww..well thank you for supporting us."

Madison giggled as she laid her head against his, "Always."

Maverick smiled as they made it to the dining room, he laughed when the twins and Kenzie asked why they couldn't get no piggy back ride, "I'll give you guys one after we eat."

Madison slid from off her brother's back and went to sit down.

Maverick took a seat by his husband, sending a wide smile.

Brent leaned over and placed a kiss on Maverick's cheek. He was so happy and honestly was still in shock. He couldn't believe that he married his best friend yesterday.

"Savannah, Spencer and Mckenzie, bring your bowls to the kitchen. You're eating in the living room today.." Mercedes called out.

"Mommy are you sick?" Spencer asked confusedly as he grabbed his bowl and headed to the kitchen.

"No baby, why do you ask?" Mercedes looked at him questionably.

"Because you never let us eat in the living room unless it's pizza.."

Mercedes rolled her eyes as she grabbed his bowl, "No I'm not sick. It's a gloomy, rainy day outside and I made chili. I just think it would be fun if you ate and watched a movie. Don't you think?"

"Yes!" Mckenzie answered for her brother, giving him a major side eye for asking a question. If their mommy was going to let them do something she never let them do, don't question it.

"It's just code for she wants to get rid of us so the grown people can talk." Savannah said as she handed her mother her bowl.

Sam let out a chuckle from his spot in the kitchen, only stopping when Mercedes glared at him.

"Alright grown lady.." She gave her daughter a look.

Savannah bit down on her lip, pouting a little as she grabbed her bowl, "Sorry.."

Mercedes kissed her cheek and patted her butt as she walked out the kitchen.

Mckenzie bounced on her toes as she waited for hers, her bright eyes scanning over the stove, "May I have that yellow cake?"

Sam laughed softly at his daughter, "It's called cornbread baby."

"Oh.." Her eyes went to her mother, letting out a smile much like her father's, "May I have some cornbread?"

"Yes baby." Mercedes smiled as she shook her head, fixing her daughter food into her bowl.

Sam helped his little one into the living room and sat up the TV so they could watch a movie.

Once everyone got their food, they sat down in the dining room so they could talk. Mercedes crossed her ankles as she sipped her water, looking at the newly married couple curiously, "Have you two figure out what you're going to do about your living arrangements?"

"Well since my job doesn't require me to be anywhere specific, I have decided to move back here." Brent said as he looked at everyone.

Sam nodded as he placed another spoonful of chili in his mouth, looking over at Maverick as he chewed, "So are y'all still going to stay in your apartment?"

"Don't talk with food in your mouth daddy, it's rude.." Madison scolded him.

"That's right baby." Mercedes nodded in agreement with Madison.

Sam rolled his eyes and mumbled a sorry as he went back to eating.

"To answer your question, we're going to keep the apartment and sometime down the line, we'll look for a place together." Maverick smiled as he looked at them.

Mercedes smiled, "That's great sweetie."

"Thanks mom."

"Where are you doing for your honeymoon?" Madison asked curiously as sat Indian style in the chair.

"We are going to Tahiti for spring break since Maverick has to work." Brent spoke up after he finished swallowing the last of his meal.

"That's sounds like fun." Sam said as he folded his arms and leaned back in his chair.

Mercedes looked at him and chuckled. He only sat like that when his stomach was tight. She leaned over and patted his stomach, "Someone is full.."

Sam hummed out as he looked at her with a smirk, his own eyes drifting to her stomach.

Madison caught the look that Sam was giving Mercedes and she pondered it for little before her mouth dropped in shock, "No way.."

Everyone turned to the teenager at her outburst, looking at her questionably.

Madison beamed happily as she looked at her mom, "You're pregnant aren't you?"

"WHAT?" Maverick yelled out in shock, his head snapping back to his mother, eyes zeroing in to her stomach.

Mercedes sighed as she looked at them, a small smile gracing her lips, "Yes, we are expecting another little Evans in about seven months."

"Oh my god mom, congrats!" Madison squealed as she jump from her seat and went to hug her.

"Congratulations Mom." Maverick said as he got up and hugged her as well.

"Thank you guys." She hugged her kids back tightly.

Brent got up and went over to Sam, holding out his hand for him to shake, "Congrats Sam."

Sam shook his hand and gave him a smile, "Thanks man."

Madison unwrapped herself from Mercedes and wiped the tears that manage to leak from her eyes, "Do the twins and Kenz know?"

"Yeah, I told them before the wedding. I'm surprised that they didn't spill the beans to you guys." Mercedes said with a chuckle as she rubbed her stomach.

"Did you guys plan to have another baby?" Brent asked curiously as he sat back in his seat.

"Well, I always wanted another one after we had McKenzie.." Sam said with a sheepish grin.

"Don't even lie Sam. You told me that you wanted three more but would settle for at least two." Mercedes giggled as she sat up, looking over at Brent, "I thought we were done after Mckenzie..but one more can't hurt. I was legit scared because with me being thirty-eight, I swear I think am too old to be having another baby but my doctor told me I'm completely healthy and I could have six more if I wanted too.." She rolled her eyes when she saw Sam eyes brighten at the thought, "Not happening.."

Sam laughed as he leaned over and pressed a kiss to her lips, "I love you."

Mercedes smiled against his lips, giving him another peck, "I love you more."

Madison couldn't help but smile at her parents. Their love for each other was so powerful and deserving. She loved that. And she also loved the fact that she was going to be a big sister to someone again.

Maverick looked on at them with a grin. This is the type of love and marriage he wanted to have with Brent. The way Sam loved his mom and vice versa, he wanted that. He looked at his husband and grabbed his hand. He had a feeling that this was going to one of the best stages of his life.

Mercedes sat her purse down as she slid into the booth. She was meeting Quinn and Santana for lunch today and she was so excited to tell them about the baby and catch up. She ordered herself a sweet tea before she picked up her phone and began to scroll through her emails. With the holidays now over and the kids back in school, she had a lot of work to catch up on.

Quinn removed her sunglasses from her face as she entered the bistro. Spotting her best friend already there, she smiled as she walked to her, kissing her cheek before she moved to the opposite side, "Hey babe."

"Hey love." Mercedes smiled as she sat her phone to the side, moving her hair from her face, "You look beautiful, how was your vacation?"

"Not as beautiful as you, you're practically glowing." Quinn smiled sweetly at her friend, ordering herself a water when the waiter came back, "We had a lot of fun." Quinn and her family had taken a three week vacation to Canada, "The kids have missed you a guys terribly oh and to catch you up on them, Beth has landed herself a spot in New York Fashion week, Carson has decided he wants to venture out and explore his art side and Conner is beyond prepared to start second grade already."

Mercedes smiled at that, "All of my babies are growing up. I'm so proud of all of them."

"I know, time waits for no one." She played with the straw in her drink before looking at her, "How are you?"

"Between having a teenager, twins with different personalities, a very active four year old, extracurricular activities after school, Sam and I getting ready for this baby..I'm doing the best I can." Mercedes let out a soft chuckle as she listed off everything, not realizing she let her secret slip.

Quinn eyes went wide as she looked at her, "Wait, did you just say baby? You're pregnant?"

"Yeah, two months to be exact. I went to the doctor a week before the wedding because I was feeling sick and she told me I was expecting." Mercedes smiled at her.

"Oh my god Cedes.." Quinn slid out of the booth and went to hug her best friend, "I'm so happy for you."

"Why are you so happy for her?" Santana asked as she came up to the duo, sliding her sunglasses in her hair.

"Mercedes is having another baby." Quinn said happily as she moved back to her seat.

"Shut up, seriously?" Santana asked as she took a seat beside Mercedes and hugged her, "Congratulations but how did this even happen?"

Mercedes laughed at Santana's question, running her free hand through her hair, "Despite having a busy household, my sex life is still very, very active."

"I just didn't think that Trout's little swimmers were still swimming." Santana snorted when Mercedes hit her arm.

"Are you excited?" Quinn asked as she looked at her.

"I am.." Mercedes tucked her hair behind her ear, "At first I was scared because of my age but I am really excited to have another Evans running around."

"You and Sam are working on soccer team, I swear." Santana laughed.

Mercedes giggled as she sat down the menu, "Please if it was up to him, I would be pregnant every year."

Quinn couldn't wipe the smile off of her face. She was so happy for her best friend. Her life has done a complete 360 to what it was years ago. Her happiness was something Quinn prayed that she would keep.

She came out of her thoughts when the waiter came and asked for their orders.

"Enough about me.." Mercedes said when the waiter left, turning to look at her girls, "What's going on with you all?" Mercedes and the girls caught up on each other's lives during their lunch. Santana and Britt were renewing their vows in Mexico this year and Quinn had got a promotion at her real-estate job. Santana had to get back to work earlier so she bided her girls a good day with a promise of hanging out this weekend.

Sam bit down on a blue sour patch kid as he sat in the living room. He looked over to his wife then himself and chuckled at the uncomfortable positions they were both in. Mckenzie was sprawled across his lap while Savannah was laying in Mercedes'. Madison was sitting in the middle and Spencer as stretched out across all of them. They had decided to have a movie night with lots of junk food and the kids crashed out early.

Mercedes shifted a little on the couch, letting out a content sigh as she looked at her husband, reaching out her hand for some candy, "They're going to be sore in the morning.."

Sam chuckled lowly as he nodded, handing her a couple of the sour and sweet goodness, "Are you okay though?"

"I'm fine.." She reassured as she ran her hand through Savannah's hair, humming softly as she chewed on the sugary sweet.

Sam chewed on his candy happily as he continue to watch his wife, "I love you so much Mercedes, never forget that."

Mercedes looked at him and smiled, "I love you too baby..always and forever."

"Always and forever.." He repeated as he smiled at her. Every since she has entered his life, his world has been pure joy. He made a promise eight years ago to love her forever and every single day of forever, and he was going to do just that.
