Title: Health and Infrastructure
"Sanc Opera Company, Grand Premier Performance of Romeo and Juliet?"
"No, I don't think so. It will be a while... A considerable period of time before we have anything remotely resembling a stage rigged up to hold an operatic performance, let alone a Grand Premier."
Duo snorted softly, a sharp exhalation of air, and slapped the folder down on a steadily growing pile of folders and reached for another. It was quiet in the smaller room, delightfully warm with the fire glowing brightly and only a desk light illuminating the chairs set before the hearth. Dare he think it, but it felt... cosy.
Milliardo sighed and closed the folder he had recently opened and dropped it on the same pile. "No, definitely not. We could probably set a stage but... No."
Three folders, possible choices not immediately dismissed, as opposed to what Duo thought was about fourteen or fifteen thus far in the discard pile. It was a companionable silence as Milliardo reached for a snifter of brandy, swirling it in the large glass and watching the play of the fire through its amber depths.
In the larger room the children were bedded down for yet another night under the watchful eye of attending adults. At least they were slumbering peacefully, watched over by a skeleton staff whilst the bulk of the adults took what sleep they could. Which, of course, left the resident insomniac's club needing to do something quiet so as not to wake the children.
It was good, just the two of them, he had to admit that. He dared not consider how Chang and Maxwell were softening him, but he could not deny it, at least to himself. Still, there were far more important things to consider.
For this evening, their choice was to go through folders of events that had been set for the first six months of the year. Events that could no longer take place due to the extreme weather conditions and the effects it had had on Sanc. Duo gathered that Milliardo was not expecting there to be much in the way of the city and its infrastructure left standing. After watching the latest feed from above ground, he was inclined to agree.
The king surveyed the disproportionate piles and sighed, removing the remaining folders from his lap and placing them on the floor beside the coffee table making a third pile.
"Useless. The only thing that will be needed is to restore infrastructure, housing and a means to feed the masses as quickly as possible. Yet in doing that, mental health needs to be considered and a part of that is recreational activities . One can not keep a mass population happy if they do nothing but rebuild."
