Title: Disaster In Motion

"Not too much in the way of grand scale premiers will be on the list." Duo stretched slowly and languidly before setting aside his own pile of folders.

"Premier events have their place, just not in the middle of rebuilding a country. We will need to organise small, moderate and large scale events as we recover lost ground. To lift the peoples spirits, distracting them from the dangers of depression. It is a long road ahead of us. We have at least one metre thick ice sheets out there. Snow scoured and snap frozen by the extreme temperatures and wind sculpted. I want a crew of photographers out and about as soon as it is safe recording the altered landscape. If nothing else presented properly we can eventually arrange an exhibition that might be a tourist draw when we get back on our feet."

Duo inclined his head slightly. He had not considered taking photographs of whatever landscape now lay above their heads as a future income earner for the wrecked country.

"When the ice and snow melts we are going to have the lower regions inundated. Depending on the damage to the forests, we could well find ourselves with avalanches of snowmelt and mud slides containing half the mountains in the runoff."

"So you expect the mountain country to be just as heavily hit as New Port City and the coastal regions?"

Milliardo pressed a long finger to his temple, massaging gently and shook his head after a moment. "The least amount of damage will be on the leeward side of the mountains. With luck, in the deeper peaks, the forests will have escaped harsh damage. We will need that wood. There will be damage, but I am hopeful it will be less there. We will need to get the Foresters into the foothills and peak country as quickly as is safe to assess the damage to the forests. We need building materials, but we need to be certain we will not be bowled over by mountains losing their vegetation on a grand scale."

"It may not be exactly comfortable, but we do have the emergency shelters to keep people housed until other arrangements can be carried out."

"I will need you and an assessment team to inspect the city defences against flood. We need to get the channels clear as quickly as possible. Crowding a great number of people into confined spaces for extended periods of time is a recipe for disaster. They have to be fed, clothed, kept warm and ENTERTAINED. I am afraid our list of premier events will be... small, to say the least, but bored people are a disaster in motion. It's like an avalanche. Little pockets of disturbance that suddenly give way to a runaway catastrophe."
