Chapter 8: Claws
MONDAY NIGHT
After taking Kane out, it had seemed he was out for sure as no one had seen The Big Red Machine since then.
But tonight David was scheduled for a tag team match as he would be teaming with AJ Lee and Paige to take on Alicia Fox, Eva Marie and his arch nemesis Bo Dallas.
David had not forgotten what Bo did to him several months ago after he defeated him for the NXT Championship thus ending his long reign.
Dallas took it upon himself to get revenge by blindsiding him with a shot to the back of his head and causing a massive cut that would require several stitches and receiving an almost debilitating concussion that forced him to relinquish the championship.
And tonight he gets his long awaited revenge.
"Ready?" he was snapped out of his thoughts by Paige.
"Getting there, what's the plan?" David asked.
"Yes Paige my little English Muffin what is your amazing plan?" it was the Divas Champion AJ Lee.
"Well was thinking we just stick to who we know but then again my little Gnome could be tricky for you to see down there." Paige came back.
"You can take Alicia as she's beaten you in front of the entire United Kingdom right?" AJ reminded her of that night.
"So true but didn't Eva Marie beat you on Main Event in our tag match?" Paige reminded her of that recent loss.
David could see it was about to get crazy and just walks to the catering area and begins making coffee as the two women continued on their one upping of each other as he came back he sat back down in between them and drank his drink.
"I am the longest reigning champion in history." AJ stated.
"I am the youngest champion in history." Paige stated.
David was sipping his drink hearing them go at it and decided enough was enough.
"HEY!"
Both women stopped suddenly.
"Now I have had enough of both of you! Name calling and doing the old "I'm better than you at this" game, now either you both stop this stupid game for now, concentrate on the match at hand or I will not hesitate to take you both over my knee in front of everyone do I make myself clear?!" David threatened them with that punishment.
They both were a bit surprised and shocked he said that as he gave a look and the knew he meant it.
"Yes." they murmured.
"Now shake hands." he said.
They reluctantly did so.
"Now with that said and done, You two can do what you like when we get out there but know this...Bo Dallas is mine, see you out there." he made clear of his intentions.
He walked off.
"That man has issues." AJ said.
"Nothing new there." Paige agreed.

Raw came back on the air as both Alicia Fox and Eva Marie were set for tag team action.
Shoot for the stars hit and amidst the darkness and in the spotlight was The Inspirational Book Dallas as he posed then rose to feet and was making his way down band into the ring as he once again posed as his partners looked unimpressed he rose up again and had a mic in his hands.
"Now I know that I have a match with two divas and a man I am not proud to say I was really mean to and I hope that he and I can resolve our differences tonight because when you get knocked down in life, you get back up and…BOLIEVE!" he said posing with his thumbs up in the air.
Stars in the sky hit and out came the Anti-Diva and the youngest to ever win the Divas Championship as Paige made her way out, she got to the ring apron took her jacket off and did her primal scream as she awaited the arrival of her partners.
Light it up hit as the Divas Champion AJ made her way out as she began skipping her way down to the ring she skipped on the outside and into the ring holding her title up as Paige cheered her on and as Paige called their relationship as "Frenemies" and now both awaiting the arrival of their partner.
OUT OF MY WAY!
Out of my way hit as The Red Dragon made his way down and his eyes were locked on the man in the ring as he entered the ring he quickly grabbed the mic.
"David before we start this match I need to say something." Dallas said as David let him speak.
"I know your mad about what I did and quite frankly so am I! I did a rotten thing and I would like to publicly apologise to you." he said extending his hand out to him.
David looked around and he shook his hand which confused everyone as Bo was all smiles. "I'm really glad we cleared all this up and that is a great example of why we all need to…BOLIEVE!" he said.
But as he went to let go of David's hand he still had a tight grip as he kept him there and with one nervous grin from Bo…HE HEADBUTTED HIM IN THE FACE!
"BOLIEVE THAT!" David shouted.
The bell rang and he just went on a full assault on Dallas as he just hit hard knees to the abdomen and he backed him into the corner and just threw wild fists at him as he was not stopping but the referee had to get involved and break them out and did so but as David backed out Dallas saw his chance and just blindsided David with a tackle to the ground.
Dallas was now pounding away on David but then he turned the tables on him and pounded away on him as he quickly squirmed out of it and tried to run but David got a hold of him and threw him into the ropes as he came off he took him down with the lou thesz press bringing more fists down on him but he then tried to escape but David got a hold of him again once more and got him into a hold and then just nailed a snap suplex, 1-2-NO HE KICKED OUT!
He just scurried to his corner and tagged in Eva Marie as the rules stated the men have to tag out and the women must enter as David frustrated he did that was forced to tag in a partner as the tag was received by Paige, she quickly got a hold of the Total Divas star and as quickly she delivered knees to her abdomen then holding her head she started hitting head butts which knocked her down as she then brought her up to her feet she hooked her in to a fisherman suplex 1-2-NO SHE GOT THE SHOULDER UP! Paige not letting her opponent get back in went right for her but Eva quickly ran back to her corner and tagged in Alicia.
The now crazed Fox was trying to get revenge on Paige for her loss at Payback as she went right for her as she locked up with one another as then Paige was able to overpower her into a headlock but then she just went to her corner and tagged in AJ who thanked her for the tag as Paige them began singing praises to her as David watched the head games continue between them but his eyes were on the man across from him.
AJ began to skip around Alicia infuriating her as she went right for her but she quickly dodged the attack and just nailed a clothesline and then another then another and got in a huge dropkick but then she then skipped away and tagged in David as now both men have to get back in the ring as Dallas refused to get back in there as he tried to leave but David would not have any of it and went right after him as Dallas ran for his life he ran around the ring with David in hot pursuit as he hopped the barrier and both men ran right out of there but the action went on in the ring.
Both Alicia and AJ were still going at it as Alicia during the confusion blindsided AJ and had her on the ground with some stomps and fists as she then had her by the hair and threw her around the ring but Paige came in and took it to Alicia as she got a dropkick in as Eva tried to take advantage of AJ she was quickly taken to the ground by the champion and PAIGE HIT'S THE PAIGE TURNER! And at the same time AJ LOCKS IN THE BLACK WIDOW! Eva Marie was trapped and SHE TAPS OUT!
As the match was won David had managed to chase Dallas all the way out of the arena and had lost sight of him.

David was walking through the hallways trying to figure out what to do next.
"David Redd." he heard the voice call out to him and was met face to face with the Chief Operator of Operations Triple H himself.
"We finally meet and gotta say I am impressed with your abilities and the fact you've beaten Kane how many times? It doesn't matter all that matters is that we-"
"Stop your babbling and get to the point." David interrupted him.
"My wife told me you do this a lot, what I'm saying is that she has a problem with you but I don't, I see a lot of potential in you and that is why I put you in that battle royal because you've overcome odds somehow and if you win that match you will be in my favour." Hunter said as it seemed the COO had his eye on him.
"Whatever your selling I'm not buying, you lured Seth Rollins in, but you will not lure me in, I'll win that battle royal and become the new Intercontinental Champion so do yourself a favour and shut your mouth…old man." David stated as he left him there and his demeanour changed hearing that last word.
MONDAY NIGHT
After his confrontation with the COO of WWE, David decided to reject his offer and once again defying The Authority and once again showing them and Triple H disrespect.
He was getting ready for his match against Bo Dallas as finally he would have his chance to get his hands on him but then he was confronted by Joey Mercury and Jaime Noble members of WWE Personnel.
"Can I help you gentlemen?" David asked.
"Triple H and Stephanie wanna see ya now?" Noble said.
"I have a match next, they can wait after that." David said not even caring about his presence requested by the Principle Owners of WWE.
"It's about your match." Mercury said as David sighed heavily and reluctantly followed them as they led him straight to their office as he was brought forward to them both.
"Leave us." Triple H said as they did just that.
"Well what do I owe the pleasure of your summoning your majesties?" David said in a sarcastic tone.
"Don't take that tone with us, your still on thin ice after you misted me in my eyes!" Stephanie said as he smiled about that incident.
"Well you shouldn't interject yourself into a match." David said as she was about to lose her temper as her husband calmed her.
"You really do have a smart mouth don't ya? Hunter said.
"That maybe so but you know I'm right." David replied. "So if this is all there is to tell me then I would like to be excused as I have a match." he said looking to leave.
"About your match it's been cancelled." Stephanie said as David turned right around and faced them as now he was angered.
"You better have a very good reason for it, otherwise I might decide to unleash this frustration on both of you." David made clear.
"Now David no need for a temper tantrum, you'll get another chance just that we felt last week we weren't trying hard enough to get the message across." Hunter said about last week.
"Look whatever your offering me this time it's not going to change my mind so do yourselves a favour and take that offer and shove it where the sun doesn't shine!" David made clear for the second time as he then looked to Stephanie. "The pair of you!" he made very clear as he walked out of there.
"Guess we'll have to make a decision on whether or not we keep some of our superstars, hey David you think we should release Paige?!" Hunter said to him.
He stopped in his tracks.
"Now we're getting somewhere." Hunter said as David stood there with his back still turned.
"David you can either join us and not only can you take your own career but also hers to greatness or you can watch us publicly fire her and you will be to blame for the collapse of her career." Stephanie said making the deal.
David took a few seconds to think on that offer.
"Go ahead." he said bluntly.
Hunter and Stephanie were a bit shocked and confused he said that.
"Wait! Don't you even care we'll fire her?!" Stephanie asked.
"No not really and you'd be doing me a favour." David said bluntly again.
"You want us to fire her?" Hunter asked.
"I can't stop you but just so you both know that you should be more afraid of her than me." David stated as he walked off.
But then he stopped. "Oh and one more thing old man, threaten any of my acquaintances and there will be consequences." he stated as he walked away.
"Well that went well, firing his friend won't work now what?" Stephanie said as her husband was not happy it didn't go to plan.
"It won't go well when next week he takes on Rusev, then we'll see if he decides to come around." Hunter announced.
Once again David lands himself in hot water with The Authority and now he must face The Bulgarian Brute, will he be able to stop The Super Athlete?
