Title: Practical
"Ain't never been afraid o' 'ard work. At end o' t' day y' knows y' done som'n worthwhile. Even if it o'ly tucker yerself out ta get a good nights sleep."
He was not Sancian, nor did he belong to the Clan, but Wu Fei rather liked the taciturn man. Greying black hair, piercing blue eyes, weather beaten, rugged featured. His hands were calloused and scarred the unmistakable myriad of tiny scars on his hands being that of burns.
"I'm a blacksmith, I am. Worked all m' days since m' da decided I was big enough ta swing a 'ammr and I got m' growth young, I did. Seems ta me there'll be need fer metal work when this blows ov'r."
"I'm a seamstress by trade. My skill set will be of use. What ever I can do to help I will."
"Computer analyst and tech. If we can get the infrastructure working, I will come into my own. Until then, I can dig what needs digging and hammer what needs hammering."
He moved on, slowly and carefully threading his way through the crowd huddled as close together as they could without causing crushing problems for those in the centre.
"Teacher. I'm a teacher. I taught history, but I am as capable as the next woman of turning my hand to multiple tasks. What needs doing I will do."
He thought privately that they would need their teachers. The education of the next generation could not be shorted, no matter the hardship that presented in the aftermath of the storm. There was going to be so much that needed to be done and if the survivors were as practical as this...
There was hope.
He knew of the heavy machinery and the more simple hand tools that had been hastily gathered and stored away to aid in the cleanup and reconstruction of the city. There would be work enough for everyone, but the children must be educated. They were the future and he was just as determined as those who had been born and reared to Sanc, that Sanc would continue.
