Chapter 12: Background
MONDAY NIGHT
The WWE was still buzzing from David winning the United States Championship and even refusing the offer of Triple H and The Authority to join them but also had began his campaign to provoke and harass The Game into a match with him.
"You seen this?" Hunter said as he, Rollins, Orton and Kane were all looking through files.
"How can one guy have so many incidents in that amount of time?" Rollins said looking at a file.
"Even I didn't get this angry that easy." Kane said looking at a file.
"They said I had anger problems but this guy takes it to another level, he assaulted a guy in a cafe…with a pickle?!" Orton said not sure if he was reading it right.
"Yeah well check this he was arrested but not charged with three counts of assault in a nightclub in Essex because the victims were harassing some girls and guess who was among them?" Rollins said showing a picture of one of the girls who was familiar to them.
"Hunter this guy tried to break my leg!…What do we do!?" Orton asked.
"Kane…schedule a match for our new United States Champion to defend his title tonight and send Paige to my office." Hunter ordered as Kane did his bidding.

"Throwing her off a stage? You could've gone way further than that and we both know you can." David said.
"Yeah but I'm not going to throw her into a wheelie bin and throw her down a hill into a stream, I need her in one piece to win the title." Paige said recounting a past memory.
"True but you need to push her more." David said encouraging her.
"I know and I plan to do more damage and what about you Champion?" Paige asked him.
"I'm not sure but I know they'll try and use this title against me but won't stop me getting what I want even if it means I have to take it up another level." David said as then Joey Mercury and Jaime Noble approached them.
"Paige, the boss wants to see you." Mercury said.
"Why does he want to see me?" she asked.
"It's just to talk." Noble answered.
They both looked a bit bewildered by that and she shrugged her shoulders and followed them as David watched her leave with them he knew something was going down.

OUT OF MY WAY!
Out of my way hit as the New United States Champion made his way out and got a huge reaction from the crowd as he had the belt draped over him like a bandolier, he walked down the ramp and entered the ring and held up his title as he awaited the arrival of his opponent.
Behold the king…The King of Kings…
King of Kings hit and the COO of WWE made his way out and had a mic in his hands.
"David last week you exceeded our expectations and pulled off a fluke win and now you're the brand new United States Champion." Triple H said.
"Before you say anything else old man, I would like to say that you threw me into the title picture and as you can see it worked out well for me and not to take anything away from Sheamus he and Cesaro gave me a fight and Sheamus mate if your watching if you want a rematch all you have to do is ask." David said giving the rematch to the former champion.
"That's nice of you but your opponent isn't so nice." Triple H said.
Man on fire hit and it was his rival Kane or now Corporate Kane he made his way down and into the ring as both men were face to face.
"Oh and David the match is a championship match and it's No Disqualifications." Triple H made the match.
The bell rang and Kane went for him but he ducked underneath him and turned around KANE GOT A QUICK LOW BLOW! He fell to his knees in pain as David still had his title in his hands and HE BLASTED HIM IN THE FACE WITH THE TITLE! David had taken advantage of the stipulation and he brought up a groggy Kane and had him up onto his shoulders HE DROPS HIM WITH SEEING RED!
He looked down on Kane and looked to Hunter and motioned to him to "watch this" and grabbing the leg of Kane HE LOCKED IN THE LEG SLICER SUBMISSION! Just pulling back on the leg showed how painful the hold was and with nowhere to go HE TAPS OUT!
"Here is your winner and still United States Champion…David Redd." Justin Roberts announced.
David grabbed the mic. "No more games old man! Get in here now and fight me or do you have to go and get your testicles from your wife's purse?" he insulted him.
Hunter looked very upset as he was pacing around trying to keep his composure and then turned to face him.
"Alright if that's what you want then tonight in the main event it will be David Redd teaming with Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns and the WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena to take on Kane, Seth Rollins, Randy Orton and myself." he said making the match and left the stage as David got what he wanted.

"Your wondering why we called you in?" Hunter asked.
"If it's about what I did to AJ then "I'm sorry." that I did it." Paige sarcastically said.
"It's not that it's about a different matter your friend David." Stephanie said.
"What's he done now?" Paige said in a fed up tone.
"We just want to know from you as you're the only one who knows how his mind works…how do we beat him?" Hunter asked.
"I don't know and if you want my advice on him, don't even try to it will make things more difficult for yourselves and trust me he's got nothing to lose." Paige made clear.
"Thank you for your time, you can leave." Stephanie said as she did just that.
"Tonight we show him why The Authority is what's Best for Business." Hunter stated.

Behold the King…The King of Kings…
King of Kings hit as the Authority comprised of Triple H, Randy Orton, Kane and Seth Rollins made their way out together to compete in the main event as they were planning on making a statement tonight as they went down the ramp and into the ring and were all fired up and awaited their opponents arrivals.
OUT OF MY WAY!
Out of my way hit and The Red Dragon and United States Champion made his way out as he was ready for battle and made his way down as he had not taken his eyes off the one man in that ring Triple H, the staredown began between them as he awaited his partners arrivals.
Truth Reigns hit and from out of the crowd The Juggernaut himself Roman Reigns appeared and walked down the stairs as he was as focused as always and hopped the barrier and had blocked off one part of the ring.
Retaliation hit and the Lunatic Fringe Dean Ambrose came out but he came out from the crowd and hopped the barrier and had also cut off another part of the ring as David did the same.
Time is now hit and the WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena made his way down the ramp and had cut off the last part of the ring and all four men nodded to one another and it was a pre match ambush as they rushed in and the fight was on and the bell rang.
The referee tried to get some order as all eight men were in a free for all with one another, Orton and Reigns were on the outside fighting, Ambrose had gotten his hands on Rollins, Kane and David were exchanging blows and Cena and Triple H were also doing the same as Ambrose threw Rollins in the ring the match had officially gotten underway.
Ambrose had Rollins on the mat and was just pounding on him as both teams were all watching them Rollins was trying to get to his corner but Ambrose refused to let him run again but he kicked Ambrose off and ran to his corner and once again he escapes his wrath and tagged in Kane as he went at Ambrose taking him down quickly as he booted him in the face but Ambrose not staying down he was thrown into the ropes but he swing rebounded off them and hit a huge clothesline stunning Kane and Ambrose went to his corner and tagged in Reigns.
The Juggernaut came in hitting hard to The Big Red Machine as he was throwing hard right hands to him but Kane ducked a shot and got in an uppercut as it staggered Reigns Kane quickly went to his corner and tagged in Orton as The Viper took full advantage of the hit and chop blocked the knee of Reigns and know down Orton came off the ropes and dropped a knee to his face 1-2-NO REIGNS KICKS OUT!
He circles his prey and started the methodical stomps to any exposed limb he saw as The Apex Predator was savouring this moment after Reigns cost him in his mind his chance to regain the WWE World Heavyweight title he threw him into the ropes and to the outside apron he took him by his head and was going for the DDT but Reigns pulled himself back in the ring and he threw Orton off and was just hitting him with clotheslines until The Viper ducked one and slithered away to his corner and tagged in Kane.
Both heavy hitters went at it as they battled with a test of strength as Kane got a quick kick to Reigns and took him up with a sidewalk slam, 1-2-NO HE KICKS OUT! Kane brought him up and threw him into the corner as he looked to splash him and went for it but Reigns got out of the way and Kane tasted turnbuckle he turned around SUPERMAN PUNCH! Kane was down as Reigns went to the outside and ran towards the head of the monster and SLIDING KICK TO THE HEAD! He went into the ring to pin him, 1-2-NO KANE GOT HIS SHOULDER UP!
Reigns was signalling for the Spear but he was grabbed by his head and onto the ropes by Rollins as Kane tagged him in and Rollins stomped on his former team-mate he then threw some insults towards Ambrose as he hadn't realised Reigns was back up and turning around SUPERMAN PUNCH! Reigns knocked him down with it and tagged in Cena as the champ brought Rollins up and was nailing shoulder tackles off the ropes and then followed up ducking a fist he lifted him up and dropped Rollins to the ground and he raised his hand up.
"YOU CAN'T SEE ME!" Cena said as he came off the ropes and FIVE KNUCKLE SHUFFLE!
He was going for the Attitude Adjustment but he was turned around and RKO BY ORTON! Cena was down as Orton got him A SPEAR BY REIGNS! Orton got Speared to the mat as Reigns had him as then A HIGH KNEE FROM THE TOP! Rollins nailed Reigns as he was bragging but then AMBROSE TOOK HIM DOWN! He turned into the right hand of Kane and CHOKESLAM! Kane was then hoisted up and HE WAS DROPPED WITH SEEING RED!
All were out the outside but two men remained as it was down to Triple H and David Redd, Hunter stepped in and were face to face and the fists began to fly as The Game took him off the ropes but he countered into a lou thesz press the fists came down on Hunter as David brought him up and had him in a full nelson front lock and drive the knees into him but Hunter was able to summon his strength and drive them into the corner but they hit the ref and took him out.
David was forced to break the hold as Hunter took advantage and HE GOT IN A LOW BLOW! He went the low road and now he knew all he needed to do was to put him away and had him set up with both arms hooked he was looking for the Pedigree but David got free and HE SPRAYED RED MIST INTO HIS EYES!
The Game was blinded and David taking advantage now he got him into an inside cradle and the ref was back up 1-2-3! HE GOT THE PIN!
The place had lit up with David pinning Triple H, as he was on the outside having his hand raised the rest of The Authority went to their leader's aid as Hunter was still blinded he could not believe on this night he lost to a rookie.
MONDAY NIGHT
Triple H was out in the ring alone as he was feeling the effects of his loss last week.
"David Redd…I gave you chance after chance after chance to join us, to be a somebody, but no you had to keep on speaking your mind and backing a cause that got killed when that Goat was put out! Since you've been here all you've done is annoy us and now you've gone from annoying to a problem and for weeks now all you've wanted is a match with me so I'll tell you what David Redd…I Accept." Hunter accepted the match as the crowd popped to that announcement.
"So tonight myself and David Redd will have a contract signing as this will take place This Sunday at SummerSlam so David see you then." he stated as a contract will be signed by both parties.

"He wanted to know what you knew about me?" David asked.
"Yeah guess he wanted to get in your head, didn't see why that would work? I mean what is up there that's worth using against you that you don't use?" Paige asked him.
"Not much really but there is one thing they could use against me and they haven't tried it." David said.
"You have a plan for this signing?" she asked.
"A contingency if you will and just to be sure no foul play is involved." he said as he pulled his hood over his head to leave.
"Hey Dave!" she called out to him as he stopped. "You never said what was the one thing they could use against you?" she asked.
He turned to face her. "You." he bluntly said and turned to walk away and leaving her a bit stunned hearing that.

King of Kings hit as Triple H and his wife Stephanie McMahon made their way out and had in their hands papers and they made their way down the ramp and entered the ring as it was all set up for a contract signing.
"Ladies and Gentlemen tonight is the official contract signing for Triple H versus David Redd at SummerSlam this Sunday." Stephanie announced.
"But before we get to that I would like to say that the actions of David Redd have been beyond disrespectful, he's had the audacity to spit in our faces after we gave him an opportunity to join us and advance his career to untold heights, but the worst of all is his unprovoked assaults on my husband and even cheating to beat him last week so David Redd get out here now!" Stephanie demanded.
OUT OF MY WAY!
Out of my way hit and The Red Dragon made his way out and he looked quite pleased with himself for getting this far as his tactics had finally paid off and got what he wanted he made his way down the ramp and into the ring as he stood face to face with both Principle Owners of WWE.
Both Hunter and David sat down on opposite sides as they each had a mic.
"Well kid you got what you wanted and I hope it's what you want?" Hunter asked.
"Yes it is, I'm doing this because I feel it's time to cut off the head of the serpent that is The Authority and end the tyrannical reign once and for all." David stated.
"That's all good and everything David but I just don't see it happening but what I do see happening is you failing in this attempt. "Hunter then sat up and looked him in the eyes. "I have been against the best this business has to offer and one by one I have conquered them and along the way careers have ended at my hands so I want to ask you right now kid…Are You Ready?" Hunter said asking an infamous line as he signed the contract.
David was handed the contract as he looked it over and stood up to look at it closer.
"Oh I am ready, I am ready to face you this Sunday and also those names you say that you've conquered are impressive but you haven't seen anyone like me, so I am going to make this very clear…" David then put the contract down on the table and brought his head down to meet his. "…time to play the game…old man." he stated.
Hunter was now enraged hearing that word again…DAVID GOT STRUCK IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD WITH A MIC!
The culprit was Stephanie as David slumped over the table Hunter took advantage of the situation and just started to beat him down viciously, he stopped for a second and threw off his jacket and took hit tie off and continued the assault he had him lying down on the table and was facing him as he brought more fists down on him and then just threw him over the table and the table itself out of the way and picked up David by his head and just ripped his hoodie off his body exposing him and threw him into the corner.
"WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?!" Hunter shouted at him as he hit a fist to his head.
"YOU UNGREATFUL PUNK!" he hit him again.
"I'M GONNA END YOU THIS SUNDAY!" he hit him again.
Not finished yet he brought him out of the corner and then got him into position and hooked both arms…A PEDIGREE!
Hunter drilled him into the mat with that Pedigree as he took the contract that was on the floor and grabbed a pen and with David's lifeless hand he forced his signature on the dotted line as it was official.
They stood over the fallen corpse of David as it could be a preview of SummerSlam where David Redd would be in for the fight of his life.
Now it's on! Will David be able to pull off the biggest win of his career? What does The Authority have up their sleeves?
